The car in front of me got stuck in the car wash, and the attendant had to assist with getting him unstuck. I paid for my carwash, drove in, and the attendant told me to drive out. He told me my payment was "lost in the system" and refused to provide me with a refund. This is the WORST gas station ever! It's the gas station closest to me with an air pump for tires so I obviously go here when I need some air. The first time, I ask for them to turn on the air, they said I have to pay $2 but then told me I could buy a snack in the store because it would be cheaper than the $2 and they would turn on the air for me. Perfect, I do that every time when I need air because a snack in their store is cheaper than $2 and I will get my air. Well, this time around, I buy my snack and I ask them to turn on the air and they said I have to buy gas or a car wash. Excuse me? I've been coming here a while and literally got told that if I buy something, I can get the air turned on. I had my car washed here despite some of the negative reviews. Prices were higher than other yelp reviews. I had the upgraded "silver" wash for $11. The only hassle was paying. The auto payment attendant wouldn't register my credit card payment. After about 20 attempts, I ended up getting out of my car and walking around to the store and paying there. The wash itself was fine -- basically what do you expect from an automated exterior wash? If I need a wash I will return. read more

Above and beyond employees, super helpful. I came in this morning to fill up my car with gas and also to fill my tires with air, but no experience with the latter. The super nice guy working at the station came out to help me and showed me how to do it as he was filling each tire. Now I feel prepared to handle it myself when the situation comes up (and maybe the next time I am not lucky enough to have someone to help me). I was very appreciative of his help and he was also a very nice guy to chat with. We were waiting for a while and nothing was happening, and I pulled forward to leave. The man approaches us with the worst attitude, very defensive and rude from the start. I had a horrible customer service experience after purchasing gas and a car wash. I am a weekly customer, and this was the first time I tried using the carwash which I paid a measley $6 for. The attendant guided me to move forward in the carwash, yet when I went too far past the sensor, the machine shut down. He clearly saw that I had not gotten a wash yet, but took my ticket inside, came back out, and said it had already been used. How was that possible when I had just purchased it 5 minutes ago? He said no carwash because it had already been used (it clearly had not - uh, can you see the bird poop still on the hood?) and that it was my fault for driving over the ramp. He then called his boss who said no refund, no exceptions. They wouldn't even give me the car wash I'd paid for, until I stood there for 15 minutes arguing with the guy. I asked if he thought I was lying and he essentially said yes. Outrageous. Please don't patronize this Arco gas station if you can help it. The owner is unreasonable and orders his staff to not provide any decency towards working with customers. I feel bad for his employees. This Arco gas station was a 76 one a while ago. now refurnished, upgraded. it's standard arco fare, cash only gas @3.35 regular is amongst the cheapest in moraga now. only bad: station is only accessible from one direction. Had the pleasure of coming to this Arco Station while visiting Moraga for the day. It is located on the main drag running through town across the street from the Taco Bell and Starbucks. If you are coming to Moraga or driving through I would recommend stopping at this gas station if you are in need of a fill up because it is the cheapest one in the area. If you only need a few gallons, you might be better off going somewhere else (unless you are using cash, but who does that?) because they do charge a $0.35 debit fee and don't accept credit cards. This gas station is also clean and well maintained. It has a propane exchange, car wash, snack store and 8 pumps. What else do you need? read more

Not really one to review gas stations as they're pretty self-explanatory but I did add it to yelp so I might as well. It's a new station in the area, so it's super clean. Also, because it's Arco, it's also cheapest gas (when I checked) in the area (from a non-sketchy gas station anyway). Additional benefit is that the management is not lazy enough yet to not replenish the little windshield service station. So that's nice. However, as with all gas stations (except for Flying V in Orinda), the service could afford to be a little friendlier. read more

This is specific to the car wash. Since this is an automatic car wash the only way your car can get clean is by using a long brush with buckets of whiter they provided at the entrance before entering the actual wash. When I went tonight I discovered they no longer have them and instead there was a short stick with some fabric that was coming off. This doesn't work. As a result much of the tree and bird droppings did not come off -- not even the windshield was clean. PLEASE replace the brushes. It would be a shame to lose a lot of local business due to not replacing a $10 brush. read more

I exited the wash with all of the soap still on the car. When I asked the attendant for help or another car wash, he said he couldn't help. This was with my car literally covered with soap. I finally convinced him to call the owner who refused a refund or another car wash. I got ripoff from Arco 425 Moraga rd in Moraga, ca 94556. On 6/18/2014, I filled up my gas tank and bought a car wash for $6.00. I was issued a car wash code #28068. I told the cashier that I was running late and please cancel the car wash. The cashier told me that he already printed the car wash slip. I can come back within a month to have it washed. Today, 6/21/2014; I came back and filled up my gas tank. I saw the same cashier and I told him I am going to use the car wash slip. However, when I used the code 27068# and it said " already used". I didnot use it. The car wash slip was in my wallet for the last four days. However, the attendance checked the computer and accused me " the ticket was used and invalid". I was shocked. Anyway, I was cheated for six dollars. I would never come back and gas up this ARCO ever again. read more

I work nearby, and they do have a reasonably maintained car wash. The staff are generally cordial, but there's not a lot they can do to improve the service provided. They have the WORST gas pumps known to mankind! They are so slow it is impossible to bear a fill-up to an empty tank. It is truly ridiculous!!?? Also, I noticed that the pumps register gas pumped to 3 DECIMAL PLACES!!?? Thankyou sir for buying 7.842 gallons today....not sure it matters, but it's weird. This car wash is better functionally than the one in Orinda but the guys who work here creep me out. They are either misogynists or just rude to everyone, but they come out, stare you down when you're driving into the car wash and use hand signals to tell you when to pull forward with a seemingly rude attitude. By the way, there's a red / green light system that manages this just fine. There's a $0.35 fee for using an ATM card for paying for gasoline / car wash. Once when I was pumping gas and trying to take care of emails (you know, efficiently multitasking) a guy from the station came out and stared me down and said "people these days are always on at their phones." It was awkward. I put down my phone and just stood there with him since he seemed so bothered by my use of my phone. I thought he'd have something critically important to say since he put me on the spot. But, just strange silence. I try to avoid this place but sometimes do still return just because it's nearby to us and has a better car wash than the other place near us. I really really hate the "pay station" that really did not want to accept my credit card and made people wait in line behind me, but I am thrilled that they have a drive-in car wash! The wash is easy. No brushes -- the brushes are made of rubber strips. It was very entertaining to take my somewhat nervous dog through with me. He was pretty sure we were in a space ship to a different planet and had to go though a few asteroid clouds with the loud slapping of the rubber pieces and the sprays of water. By the end, he was smiling at the adventure.I will do that again! read more

The guys that work here--run the place--are extremely friendly to me. If you smile they will be friendly to you too.. Yes . . . they are Middle Eastern/MUSLIM if you like. Yes . . . some do not speak great English and they should address that shortcoming. They are good people and they are friendly if you are. By the way . . . no ARCO stations in the Bay Area take credit cards. All accept only cash or ATM cards--for which there is a 35 cent fee (25 cents of which goes to the bank). This is not a ripoff. This is why they consistently have the lowest priced major-brand gasoline in the area.. For a 15 gallon fill-up you will typically save $4.00 or $5.00 dollars compared to the major-brand competition. They have recently installed ATM readers on each pump (June 2017). You no longer have to go to a "central pay station." The new readers include a small video advertising screen. To avoid the obnoxious ads, there is a mute button. Use it! The basic car wash which includes drying is $6.00 (August 2017). The Shell Station in Lafayette charges $11.00 for comparable service and their "recycled:" water is filthy and leaves copious spots on your car. read more

I had the same negative experience as many customers who have submitted Yelp reviews. About two weeks ago I tried to have my car washed at the station. The car wash machine stopped abruptly in the middle of its cycle after I had paid for it. The attendant told me the car wash would not cycle back on unless I paid again for another car wash. When I complained about this, the attendant told me he would have the owner phone me. I never received a phone call from the owner. Again, several customers were ripped off in similar car wash situations as shown in the set of Yelp reviews of this establishment. I encourage everyone to avoid the Arco, Moraga station. Lots of not so good reviews of this station. But fair is fair and I want to report a positive experience. As I was about to enter the wash station my battery died and I couldn't start my car. I call AAA. They came in 15 minutes but could not remove my battery due to a broken connector of some sort. The station owner, Nick, came to the rescue with both ideas and additional tools. Although the problem could not be entirely solved the exceptional effort and time spent by Nick was greatly appreciated. Went to Arco this evening to fill in gas and get air in tires. The young man inside was on his personal cell phone when I went in to ask for help fill air in my tires. His response was, no I can't do that. So I went to try to use the air machine and it didn't work. He seemed irritated that he had to get off his phone and come help me and said, " You drive your car and you don't know how to put air in tires?" Needless to say, it took him several minutes to get air to work. I have been there many times in the past, I feel the place was OK until today- As i did it in past, I followed the instruction: paid; drove to the gate; entered the car wash number; and drove the car into the garage and stop at red light. Everything was fine until the car wash machine abruptly stopped at middle of the washing process. Surrounded by a giant car wash machine, i realize i had no choice except waiting. A few minutes later, an employee showed up at front gate and waved me to move my car a little bit forwarded, so i followed. This movement made machine resumed. Shortly after the car wash finish, this employee pulled me on side and demanding i pay one more time. I was completely confused so naturally i asked why. He said i need to pay the lady behind me because i used her car wash slot! This doesn't make sense to me et all. You make your customer pay your system error? so i said to him, "apparently, your car wash machine was not working at first place. there is no reason for customer pay twice for one car wash. i said I was glad no big incidence happened-it could be worse, machine broke could potentially cause the damage and injury. He held my car for more than ten minutes,insists i should talk to the lady in the car behind me. I told him it is your job to fix the problem not me...
