This is a nice little bar in the south side that has some cheap wings on Tuesday night. You can get about 10 wings for $8. The space is decently sized and the service is quick.

Best spot for wings in the southside. Really really good wings. Also a great spot to go watch your favorite Pittsburgh sports teams. Service is very good and a great place to eat and drink with your friends.

Came on a Monday and called in to confirm all wings, boneless and boned, are 80c wings. Have to order in sizes of either 5 or 10 piece. With the help of 2 friends, we combined for a total of 65 wings, and let me tell you, archies is UNDERRATED! 100% recommend for any wing lover, portions are very good, and the wings are incredibly fresh. I got the Spicy Thai Tangy gold Archie's Smokey BBQ Sweet teriyaki Ranch Flavors, and my favorite was Tangy Gold!

I don't ever really venture into the Southside because it's not really my cup of tea. Lots of cool shops and things to do but getting there parking or even public transportation is too annoying. It has to be something special for me to head to the Southside. My partner and I we're going to go to dinner before we headed to a show and we were trying to decide where to go. Do we do something fun and classy and spend maybe a little bit more money than we wanted to? Or do we go and get wings. Of course we decided to go get wings I'm not saying that we're not classy and we don't like to spend a little bit of money on good food but considering that my graduation was last week saving money on food really was something I need to do. Archie's has delicious food. This was maybe the second time that I've been here and I was really impressed with the size of their wings and with the flavor choices. They had celery and carrots with ranch and blue cheese which is a usual for wings but I found some places that don't offer this on the side. When looking over the wing choices we decided to order 20 wings, so two orders of 10. Because we got two orders of 10 we were able to get two choices of sauces. If you wanted to split up the orders into more sauces you had to pay extra. We went with a dry Cajun and the honey mustard. Both were delicious. Next time that I would be there I would ask them to throw a little bit more seasoning on the dry Cajun but other than that it was great. The honey mustard was also dripping with sauce just the way I like it. And the cool crunch of those celery and carrot sticks really went above and beyond. I also ordered a side salad which was huge and only ate about half of it. Sometimes when you're doing fried food for dinner you might want to add a little more vegetables. I probably could have passed. But I will say I did eat that salad the next day. The staff was really fun and attentive. They made me laugh a lot. I would definitely come back here for wings. I hear that they do have some specials and maybe I'll come back on a day where I can partake in those. Really nice spot with ample seating and my favorite part was you could actually hear the person across the table from you.

Archies is a no frills Pittsburgh sports dive bar that specializes in chicken wings, at least that's why I come here. It has a large bar when you first walk in, about 10 high tops and 5 tables. It was about 2/3 filled at 7:30 on a Tuesday, with the Pens playing on 6 of about a dozen TVs. There was only one guy working the dining room, with Archie's help of course, but he moved quickly, making sure everyone was promptly taken care of. Aside from their full bar, they have about 12 beers on tap, your standard lite beer options along with some IPAs - Goose Island, Sierra Nevada, etc. They have specials e.g. $2.50 Coors lite during games, along with pitcher specials and you-call-its on the weekends. Back to the wings...Monday-Thursday they offer 60 cent wings every evening (starting early, not sure the exact time.) Not a bad deal. They usually come out fairly quickly - hot, fresh, and the most important part...crispy. I don't find myself needing to order "well done/extra crispy." My favorite is probably Archies Sweet Heat, which are sweet, spicy, tangy goodness. Also a fan of spicy garlic parm, tangy gold, and Cajun ranch from the dry rub section.

Went here for a 21st celebration. Great service. Archie gave us a t-shirt to commemorate the evening. Definitely coming back for the wings.

There is a decent amount of space inside with options ranging from couches to low tables and high tables which is nice. The bartender was welcoming. There was several tables of customers without it being overly busy. I decided to order a flight and was glad they didn't exclude the barrel aged. I got the Panda's Choice (Belgian Triple) and then the Panda's Choice aged in Tokaji barrels so I could compare them side by side. I had never had a beer aged in or even had Tokaji (a Hungarian dessert wine) so I was intrigued. It gave the Belgian a complex taste and made it very unique. I wasn't sure what to make of it at first but also kept going back for me. I also brought some home which will be great to share with friends. Also in the flight I got a Belgian Quad and a Chai winter ale. Both were tasty. Overall it was a great flight and I would drink all of the beers again. It's great to have a Pittsburgh brewery putting out Belgian style beers.

We were one of maybe 10 orders or more at 4:45p (the order actually came at around 5:10pm, which was even better). The other 2 time slots are 5:45p (which was full when I tried to order this morning) and 6:45p. The brewery also has other fun themed nights. You can bring whatever food you want (they don't serve food). Get on their email list to find out! Definitely will be back!

This place is a little out of the way but I would come back!

There are large tables. TVs around. Plenty of room to gather. I personally have not tried the food but it's nice that there is a kitchen there to grab some food. As far as the beer I think it will be helped when the third brewery opens just to give some more variety and options which is needed. There is a parking lot but it is small and can fill quickly which may leave you looking for nearby street parking. Overall I think this can be a great stop. We stopped at Velum on a Tuesday after realizing traffic home was a nightmare. We decided to wait it out with a pint rather than on the parkway. We received a friendly welcome and were immediately informed it was happy hour. Velum is a gigantic warehouse-sized space with indoor pickleball, arcade games, darts, pool tables, adjacent to the rock climbing, an outside seating area, food trucks, and brewery. The size and versatility of the space made it so there was something for everyone. We enjoyed our beers. I'd recommend it and would come back.

So have you seen that meme out on the InterT00bZ that's like "Hey let's go to that new beer place…read morethey have $27 warm hazy IPAs in the middle of a parking lot?" Yeah, that's the vibe I was getting at Velum. There was a lot to like and a lot to not like about this place, so I'll start with the bad and end on a positive note. First off, it's in an old brewery and it looks like a warehouse. I'm not sure if they still brew their own beers but it straight up looks like an old warehouse. I've seen abandoned warehouses that look less like a warehouse than Velum. Maybe some people like that vibe but I felt like the cops were going to bust in and shut the party down like a teen coming-of-age movie. The taproom is all the way in the back, and so are the bathrooms, so if you break the magic circle, prepare to get your steps in. There's no kitchen. They DO partner with a food truck but they're getting their own review. I paid $10 for an average cocktail and $8 for a 12 oz cider that frankly wasn't that great. Either better drinks or bigger drinks, please. And everything is community seating. I don't hate the idea but I didn't care for the vibe so when I found a smaller table my friend and I grabbed it and boarded it. With that being said, there was a lot to like too. First off, we were there for a pinball night, and they have a great selection of pinball tables there, both classic and modern. I really would have liked information on joining a pinball league, but that wasn't offered anywhere that I could find. Plus on that particular night it was $10 for all-you-can-play, so we definitely got our money's worth there. The staff that I did interact with were super nice. That goes a long way and saved this from being a worse review. And the place is dog friendly, which is always a huge plus for me. All in all, I had a decent night. But the question as always is if I'll go back. Unfortunately, probably not of my own accord. If there's another pinball event, I'll definitely go, but it's not going into my rotation of cool spots. Not every place is meant for me, and that's fine.
