Our move was horrible. First the packers came with plenty of boxes but when I was out getting lunch for the crew, they decided to use my roll of trash bags and packed all the basement in trash bags! The movers came the next day with two trucks but decided they needed a third. When the third truck arrived they said if they packed and unloaded three trucks, they would probably not be finished until 9:30pm. So the third truck came to the new house completely empty! And now we needed them to come back a second day to finish the job. I was shocked when I got a call from a piano moving company asking when they could move our piano. I was assured it would not be a problem for Arch to move the piano and instead, had to pay the other company $500 to move the piano. And when we were giving the workers a tip, the one said "I wish it was more, I really need gas money"! I was shocked, since I didn't realize until the day before that I was supposed to tip them. I thought $20 a piece for the packers and $30 for each mover was very generous. Will never use Arch again and will never recommend them to anyone. read more

i requested a pack and move appointment. When the truck showed up, the crew chief didn't know it was a packing job. Boxes had to be brought. they packed my clothes in moving blankets in a big lump. They didn't label the boxes. Every box I've opened so far has at least one thing broken. i still can't find my cookware a week later. the two members of the crew were terrific but the crew chief was verbally harassing them about slacking off. i left a message for the owner who hasn't called back. ALWAYS CHOOSE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR MOVE! We had tried to hire "new day movers/moving" for our move from our old house to our new house. Let's just say It went so badly that we had no choice but to hire another company. Arch moved TWICE AS MUCH STUFF, TWICE AS FAST as new day with LESS MEN!!! My husband and I were so angry that we were cheated out of so much money because we didn't hire Arch the first time! I gave Arch a one star only because if I got it empty, you might think I forgot. They were awful rude, unprofessional and downright nasty. They took three days to pack our items instead of the one predicted when they had to repack because they threw my evening gowns and fancy dresses into a box and I demanded a wardrobe, they double charged me because they unpacked and repacked. They broke my marble table base and blamed it on the table. They claimed I didn't get an upgrade insurance and gave us $60 instead of the $2000 it would cost to replace. Other companies said they replaced things a break, including another company I used ultimately. They broke a new lamb, a new chip and dip and end table a cocktail table the frame to a queen queen size bed. They then said they were not supposed to move those items anyway so they weren't responsible for replacing them. They were intimidating to my husband and me. They yelled at me they demanded tips each day. They were there which was a total of five days when I asked them to put something on the truck they yelled at me and accused me of trying to micromanage them. As you can guess they didn't properly pack or protect my furniture and my items and my beautiful artwork. They never really finished the job. I had to take several of my art pieces to my family to hold some things were missing, including a moving dolly, which we told them was ours, I could go on and on, but I think you have the point I would never use this company because you might get the same crew we had read more

Be prepared to have your furniture and appliances damaged. They came to the job without an appliance dolly, dropped my dryer down the stairs damaging it to the point of non-use then refunded me a whole $60.00 . They called me at the last minute and almost insisted I hire 3 guys instead of 2, the extra guy was more of a 3rd wheel. They also took 45 minutes to arrive to the house we moved to that normally takes 20 minutes...all while being charged $200 an hour of course. AVOID these guys at all cost. read more

The movers showed up early and had my daughter moved from the city to Pacific in less than 2.5 hours. They wrapped everything in blankets and shrink wrap and covered the mattress. Very pleasant and easy to work with, will definitely recommend to all my family and friends. read more

Movers were on time and communicated well. Some things were packaged well, so I assumed there was probably one guy who just didn't care or wasn't trained well. Initial interactions were positive: on time, friendly, expressing concern over my things. The problems were discovered later when I opened my boxes and saw what had been done. I'm pretty resentful at this point as I tipped generously given the complexity and expense of my things ($100 per person per day for 2 days of moving) Here's the things I discovered which have no explanation other than complete lack of concern for my stuff: 1. All my kitchen knives dumped into a box loose along with unrelated items. 2. A open cup of gatorade was placed in a box - like, it was a cup without a lid, no joke. Of course, it spilled everywhere, soaking my things in gatorade. 3. A picture frame was deeply scratched from being tossed into a box with metal hooks. Pure neglect. read more

These guys took a last minute request for a move and made it happen after my other movers cancelled. That said, I had requested mattress covers and they didn't show up and my son's mattress got dirty. Also, the workers had some scheme to "take me off the clock" but "increase the tip" and kept letting me know they were saving me money etc. It made me uncomfortable and I tipped them $400 or so because of this. By far the worst moving experience ever! I can't imagine anyone doing a worse job. It is still unbelievable to me that someone could have such total disregard for other people's property. I have moved 7 times in the last 10 years, so I am very familiar with using various moving companies. I have never left a negative review for any other company, but this company was unprofessional, unqualified, disrespectful, and negligent with my move. Problems began immediately upon arrival when the crew arrived an hour too early. The office personnel gave the moving crew the wrong start time, so they arrived early and were waiting for me for 40 minutes because I had another appointment. Poor communication within the company and with their customers is a major problem with this company. When I booked by move, I specifically asked for an experienced crew. I also asked for three men instead of two because I didn't want to overwork the guys. I didn't want them to be too tired which could lead to mishandling my furniture. I didn't mind the extra cost of the 3-man crew; I just wanted the job done correctly. They sent me a rookie crew. Two of the guys were new (l'm guessing less than a month's experience) and were still being trained by the "experienced" guy who had only six month's experience. So, my crew had not been fully trained yet and was still learning the job which included handling the paperwork. When they arrived, one of the new guys flashed two pieces of paper in front of me and said something like, "Which one do you want, you want this one, right? Just sign here." No explanation or discussion of what he was talking about or what my choices were. He was in a hurry and wasn't sure what he was doing and so the important paperwork was glossed over quickly. WARNING: Insist on an experienced crew. Ask them how much experience your assigned crew has before you book your move. If they can't provide an experienced crew, don't use that company. WARNING: Take your time and carefully read all the paperwork and ask questions before signing anything. Don't let them rush you through the process. No copies were given me of any of the paperwork at all. They just expect you to sign something without even offering you copies or receipts of anything! I had to literally call the office and ask for them to send me copies of my paperwork. WARNING: Before you book your move, ask them if you will receive copies of all paperwork before the crew leaves the job. Ask them about their insurance and what they will cover if there are damages. Do all of this before you even hired them. When I asked to get copies of my paperwork, I only received some of the paperwork. I asked two more times via e-mail to receive all my paperwork and I still have not received my paperwork. Some of it was conveniently lost or they are pretending it is lost, I don't know. The form that I signed requesting replacement of my furniture if it was damaged was never sent to me. WARNING: At the very least, take photos of all your paperwork before the crew leaves, so that paperwork doesn't go missing later. You must protect yourself and getting copies of all paperwork is an essential step. The first thing that I noticed when I met the crew was that there was a strong smell of marijuana. I don't know if the marijuana was being using legally, but regardless, I don't want my moving crew to be stoned while moving my personal belongings. One member smelled strongly of marijuana, and he would keep disappearing during the move and then reappearing. I believe he was actively using marijuana during the move. WARNING: Before booking your move, insist on a drug free crew. Inform them that if the crew shows-up stoned that you will cancel the move and not sign any paperwork. The crew was unprofessional, careless, negligent, and treated my belongings with disrespect. The crew members started arguing among themselves shortly after arriving. The experienced member was angry with another member of the crew because the new guy was not doing his share and was not doing enough lifting of the heavy furniture. The experienced guy began belittling him and challenging him and so began the immature, macho contest to see who could lift the heaviest pieces of my furniture alone. The crew essentially turned my move into a game. They started laughing and grabbing furniture and carrying the heaviest, most valuable furniture by themselves even though I had hired three men to do the move. The furniture was not wrapped with protective cloths as all other movers had done in my prior moves. Instead, the move turned into a contest to see who could lift the most furniture in the fastest time. It became a race. My furniture became toys for the guys to play with and damage. They literally dropped multiple pieces of furniture, severely damaging them, and cracking the supporting pieces. I have much more to say, but I'm running out of space. 12/13/2018 I couldn't have been happier with the job! I was moving my Mother from one assisted living to another. They were very careful with my Mothers furniture and wrapped her art carefully. There was damage from previous moves from other companies and of course they had to hear about it. They were very nice to listen through it, but it appeared I shouldn't have wasted my breath. They knew how to do it right and I'm very grateful. They both were full of smiles and worked quickly, efficiently and professionally. Messaged them via Yelp on Thursday morning asking for a quote and help right away. They were great! Very responsive, got me setup with movers that same day, even earlier than I was expecting. The two guys who came to help out were amazing. They worked hard the entire time and were very gentle with my things. I'm not the best packer however they were able to work with what I had and were just really nice guys. The price is great for the service too! They had the lowest cost for a truck which I appreciated because I'm always trying to save some money. First off, no masks used at all. Immediate star off. I was really concerned by one movers' pants that were so loose, I was afraid he'd trip over them. They also didn't use their dolly much. I've moved more times than a person should and I've specifically used PODs a LOT. So, I can give an educated guess as to how long things should take to unload and how. This company returned my calls reasonably quickly and I set up a date to unload my POD. DuShawn and Antonio K were the two guys who unloaded. They said it would take much longer to unload than the two hours I requested. This POD was mostly filled with outdoor and gardening equipment but did contain some furniture and boxed items. I specifically asked the movers to use the back door to access the basement, which they had to be reminded to do. I asked for several items to be placed in the backyard and they were, but oddly placed upside down and some against screens so the screens could easily be ripped. Too many items were dragged across pavement instead of being lifted, the most egregious was a stainless steel table. I asked them to pick it up and they did, at least from what I could see. They were fairly cheerful throughout the move, moving is hard, and I didn't hear them complain, except about my nosy neighbor. It was comfortable moving weather, cool and clear. The POD was emptied in an hour and a half. I am always surprised when a supervisor doesn't check in during a move--no boss called me. The bill was $280 for two hours and two guys plus I gave them a $60 tip. read more

This is my 3rd move in 10 weeks. The crews are wonderful! I only gave 4 stars because this time they were 4 hours late. They did call me before the original time to explain the need to delay(equipment issues). But we got the job done in 3 hrs, just as originally planned so it worked. This was my 1st time using a moving company. My appt was set yesterday for 9am. I was all packed up & ready to move. At 9:10am no one showed up or called. I called the company spoke to John he said the movers were already on their way to me. He was shocked they were not there. He said he were going to call me when he found out where the drivers were. At 10:40am still no call nothing. I left several msgs as I had to be out my apt that day. At 10:50am John called said the truck broke down & he would find other drivers. I had to ask for a discount & the discount was insulting & ridiculous. I was told at 12:30pm the drivers would be at my house. At 1:15pm still no drivers/truck . John was STILL trying to find me a truck. At this point I'm overwhelmed stressed, frustrated & hungry as I still had to move & clean my old apt & new place and unpack. I called another moving company they told me a price & time.........I Cancelled ARC movers as this was a HORRIBLE experience very unprofessional & No communication. You also lost business from a friend of mine for the next day due to this AWEFUL experience. I will never use or refer this company to anyone!!! read more

This review has been a long time coming, but I needed to share. I used this company two years ago. Many of my items were stolen in the move. The company refused to take accountability claiming I misplaced the items. I acquired video from my storage unit through the police, can see the items in question and can assure you I no longer possess them because they were stolen. This was my first time using movers so I was naive and trusted them and should have checked the truck at the end, but didn't. It was extremely disappointing and frustrating the owner would take zero accountability and instead tried to blame me for misplacing the items. I involved the police but anticipate never seeing an outcome from that and wanted to at least hold this company accountable for my horrible experience. Adding on in reply to the manager. It was not just some items. It was $1500 dollars worth of items. You also did not work with me to get the police involved. I had to do that on my own. I obtained the video footage from the storage unit where I could see my items being moved that were never delivered to me. Unfortunately, other than putting warrants out for your drivers, as that much property theft is a felony, that's all I can do. Additionally, one of them did not have a clean background as confirmed by the police. As I said, I was naive and didn't check the truck at the end so it likely all was in there and moved after the fact. You accused me of being irresponsible with my items and misplacing them without once owning accountability something with your movers could have actually happened. I put my items in the storage unit so I know they were there, confirmed again by the video. I also opened the storage unit so I know Jacob was not hit in the head because I was standing there. I also watched the video of them moving my items numerous times, I know Jacob wasn't that thoughtful of a mover. He neglected to use any of the available carts most times. While the storage unit was full, items were not poorly placed as I had been able to move items out several times over the months I used it. It's upsetting you still hold firm that it was in no way your fault. As you stated I started this discussion wanting to give your movers benefit of the doubt, but as more and more items were missing as I unpacked it was clear something was wrong that would be more than me just misplacing a box. You never offered me any benefit of the doubt and instantly blamed me for the items missing. read more

I was not there for the move and am so afraid of the damage that I am anticipating. My husband who was there, had to constantly supervise and they would not listen to him. These are some of the things he shared with me after they loaded. My husband was tired of the constant disagreements. The shock when I learned that they put the sofa ON TOP of the boxes!!!! I packed carefully, but did not pack with the possibility of a couch being on any of my boxes. Dropped my computer monitor. Did not handle our stuff with care....very rough. Carried the TV (although it was covered and wrapped) on top of his head and possibly damaged the screen. They were going to load the heavy stuff at the back of the truck and even when I called they said that's how they do it, that our way was just different, but everything would be fine. Just a few of the obvious problems. Probably could have waited until they left before they got high. My husband was exhausted and worn out. He didn't have it in him to do it himself. What a nightmare! I am expecting the worst! To start out, the lady told my husband he didn't have a big enough truck and we needed to reschedule the move. The supervisor kept trying to reassure my husband by saying, "I'm the supervisor, I know what I'm doing." read more

One of the worst moving experiences we have ever had - NOT because of the skill of the movers but the lack of quality customer service from the owner. When we called to schedule to move, we request FOUR movers, the owner told us we would only need THREE. We trusted his expertise and moved forward with the quote. On the day of the move, the head mover called to tell us unfortunately the battery was dead on the truck and they did not have a third mover as well. That they would arrive as soon as possible. They were scheduled to arrive at 9, they got there a little after 11. Immediately the movers knew that they definitely needed three movers. They did their very best to get our house wrapped up and moved. Unfortunately, it took them until almost 8pm to get our furniture to our new house. We had 2 other friends help us unload the truck to provide some assistant to the now exhausted movers. Between the hours of 11am-8pm we called the owner at least 7-8 times, he never answered the phone and his voicemail was full. The only way we were able to get in touch with anyone from leadership is when we asked the head mover to call an assistant manager when it was time to discuss the final bill. The assistant manager was caught up to speed and did his best job to make things right. We were told the owner would call us the following morning to discuss. He did not call us, we called him, and he returned our call an hour later. He blatantly lied stating that our quote was based on our previous move with the company, only we had NEVER moved with them before. He then told us to we were right and that it was a mistake. There was no real accountability and by far the worst moving experience we've ever had. Again NOT because of the movers but because of ownership. read more

Start time for house move was 9am on a Friday but two guys arrived one hour late. My husband is disabled (I had to be at new home for utility workers) but he did a walk through the house and showed guys everything that was to go. They forgot tools to undo bedroom furniture so they both left for about 45 minutes. We had at least 35 boxed and sealed items in tots two sets of living room furniture, kitchen furniture,one bedroom set ,stove,fridge,washer and dryer and stand up freezer. First they took everything except appliances ,kitchen table and tv stand they broke down for moving. Then @ 2:30pm lunch time with our furniture we waited until 3:30pm for them to arrive and unload @ new house. Problem began when final load was to be picked up @6pm lead mover Chris M decided he couldn't take microwave,kitchen table,tv stand they unassembled because it was getting close to 7pm. (Also bed was not put together at new house ). An argument started (between my husband & lead) because he told me those things not on truck was not permitted because they were loose even though they unassembled the furniture. I put a lot of the small stuff in our car (2trips). After lead finally decided to take kitchen furniture & microwave lead refused to talk to us so the other mover assisted us (new employee /his 1st day). Bed was put together by new guy,tv stand never got assembled. It started out on the wrong foot, but we are in our new home because they did work hard. My husband gave the new guy a tip, but unfortunately because lead refused to acknowledge him he did not receive one. I used Arch moving on four different occasions between Oct 2019 & Jan 8, 2020 between my family's former residence & our new home. The first two move days went ok. The second half of the move is what prompts the following review. The first item I noticed was missing the day after day #3 was an x-box & 4 video games. The box that was labeled "Xbox and games" that I knew we had packed it in did not have those items. In the interest of not making false accusations we wanted to be sure it was not misplaced. My husband and I went through the entire house, including every box. I personally did it twice and he did once. Once we ascertained it was indeed not misplaced but missing from its labeled box I immediately called Hayden of Arch. He claimed he never has trouble with employees because he does background checks on all of them. I know this effort does not always prevent those who have been in trouble with the law and/or those who simply have not been caught yet from being employed. Nevertheless, after multiple phone calls the owner/operator agreed to reimburse my husband and I the amount of $300 for the x-box and games. I have not received these funds as of this date. The issue of the x-box and games would, in time, become the least of our problems with Arch Moving. My husband & I had previously moved our valuables. I had my wedding band on as well as two of my birthstone rings given to me by my husband on the first day of the second move. Since I was helping with the move by picking up boxes, etc at some point during the day I removed my wedding band and the other two rings and placed them on a shelf in one of the rooms of the master rm. I had taken several days off of work for the move and settling our family into our new home, including taking days to look for the xbox that remains missing. I had no need to wear my jewelry because of all the unpacking and cleaning that goes with a move until this past week. When I went to get my jewelry, which had not been worn since the day of the move, I immediately noticed three of my rings were missing. My engraved diamond wedding band & two rings with birthstones and diamonds for my sons were all missing off the shelf. Besides my husband and I, the only other people with access to that room were the movers. I reported the felony theft to the police. I contacted the owner as well. I was told by Hayden that he did not believe me, that his workers would never steal because he has never had a problem with theft and that I should look to my family and friends for who might have taken the items. Putting the theft in context so that the owner/operator did not think I was simply trying to get money from his company, I reminded him that I am well established professional who his company had just moved into an expensive home and was obviously stable financially and not trying to make a fraudulent claim. Additionally, we have made payments to him totaling $5000 for the fees of moving, plus tips/meals for his crew, totaling nearly $6000. We had not complained about two broken Waterford crystal items, nor had we had any problems with the first two days of moving in October. Although Arch Moving's website claims to be fully licensed and insured, the owner/operator refused to make a claim to his insurance company. Neither did he offer to provide the insurance company information to me so that I could do so on my own behalf. I can only be left wondering whether he is in fact fully insured. Additionally, he blames me and does not even attempt to resolve this situation. He is completely unprofessional and not consumer friendly. This company should never be used. read more

This is the worst moving company I've ever came across. The owner lied to my grandmother about reason behind being late and why she didn't get the amount guys she asked for.She asked for 5 guys 2 trucks and got 2 and the truck kept going out throughout the move. They also quoted her at 2-4 hours and it took 8. They put a hole in her wall,couch and they scrapped every wall in house . The Movers where very disrespectful and the supervise/driver on move wasn't moving a thing. The leadership in the office was terrible and the owner told his guys to stop calling him and the manger stop answering the phone for them. i wouldn't hire or tell anyone to ever to hire. I wrote a poor review back in October 2020 because of my HORRIBLE experience. The time they wasted driving etc. etc. etc. and the way I was treated were the main issues. They gave me a 2 hour refund and I took my poor review down I just wanted to be done with it. Unfortunately now I have a different complaint. The day of the move I went to hand my moving blankets to the workers and was told they did not need them. This explains a lot. Today was the first time I visited my storage unit since the day they moved me in. I was exhausted during the final stage of the move. When they put my things in the unit I spent my time in my car until I went to sign the paperwork. I was too anxious to pay much attention to how the unit looked and just wanted to get home. I was vey upset today when I saw they way they packed the unit. I even got a very large unit on moving day because they said that they may not have enough room in the truck which was FALSE and dishonest. They were very careless with my things. I would love to post pictures. They piled chairs on my uncovered couch with the legs poking into the leather. They did not cover my dressers and desks piling them up on top of each other making scratches. They broke my 80 year child trike that belonged to my mother by leaning the bed frame and 4x4 beams on it. They did not wrap the majority of my delicate furniture. I found pieces splintered wood from the furniture on the ground. I had a different moving company a few years ago. They wrapped all of the furniture and were even able to fit it on a small porch. Now I am losing hundreds of dollars because of the money I am paying for a very large unit I did not need. Just by wrapping the couch and placing it on its side and rotating the mattresses and placing it against the wall, there would be even more room in the unit. I took hours today taking furniture off of piles, clearing my couch and covering furniture with my good sheets that were packed in the unit.
