Was it delicious? Yes. Was it overpriced? Also yes. I do recommend giving this place a try, but be warned it's not exactly affordable. The food was good. I appreciate the bacon was crispy as I requested. The potatoes look better than they taste. They appear to be well seasoned, but they lack a bit of flavor. Even just salt would have helped. I loved that it had roasted garlic too. Hard to describe how something that looks so well seasoned tastes a bit bland. The steak was good. Nice and tender. We ordered medium and got medium rare. It wasn't the end of the told. But the real star of the show was the sauce! It was *chefs kiss* We ordered drinks too but I forgot to take a photo. Just know if you order for there, you'll get your drinks in a glass cup. For 9/10 people that's not an issue. The thing is, I'm a bariatric patient so I can't mix my liquids and solids. So I just had to request mine in a to go cup. I still do recommend giving it a try. But bring your wallet. It was $70+ for two plates, two drinks, and tip.
First impression, super cute environment. Setup was great, separation from coffee counter and restaurant. Host staff were friendly and inviting. On a busy Sunday, we were sat in less the 10 minutes. Server was prompt, got our drinks and another was by shortly after to put our food order in. I tried the chai latte and French toast. Firs look, chai latte had cinnamon crumbles and it didn't appear to be on purpose. The drink itself was very subtle and tasted more like warm milk rather than chai tea. The French toast tasted way better than it looked, lemon ricotta was for sure the star. Bf had a cold brew and the breakfast sandwich. He said the coffee was eh but that the sandwich had finesse. He said the eggs were fluffy, bacon crispy and muffin was great. Overall, I'm not sure it'll make it into our rotation but if you're in the area it may hit the spot for you.
What a vibe in here. Spacious, running AC, and rustling and bustling. This place has such an open and inviting aura. I would love to study here. The drink mango sticky matcha was not too sweet which was good for me.
Great café and brunch spot in Riverside. We were on our way to Phoenix and stopped here for brunch. Excellent coffee and great food menu! This was such a great stop that hopefully I'll have a reason to go back at some point.
This is a solid, upscale coffee shop in Downtown Riverside. I've been to their other locations as well, but mostly visit Bakehouse and Downtown. As far as options go, I think there's a decent selection of more unique syrups for coffees. They do change it up throughout the year. The drinks here are definitely more of a premium price point, but I think they're generally good. On this particular trip, I wanted to try their new syrup flavor (it was some form of orange zest, or something similar?), but noticed my latte had no real flavor in it after a few sips. Upon looking at the receipt, the person who took my order just gave me a regular cafe latte and didn't add the syrup I requested. The coffee was fine, but I would have liked trying something new. I have gotten several of their food options before, and I think that some of them are well-priced for the portion and some can be more on the expensive side. I think the avocado toast was pretty robust and was a good value. The steak and eggs are somewhat hit or miss, and I have had it multiple times. The cut of the meat can be chewy at times, and then also more lean and tender other times. Sometimes it comes with large pieces of chewy fat, which isn't quite to my taste. The sandwich options generally are a good value. I do kind of wish they switched up their menu a bit more often, since this current menu is rather basic and they have had more interesting food options before. Overall, a decent choice for a more premium coffee, tea, and food for the Downtown/UCR area of Riverside. Service is okay, and I have had somewhat mixed experiences with that. The employees generally seem pleasant and they're nice, but I have gotten incorrect orders at least a couple of times. During this particular visit, in which the photos are from, I had to ask two different people to get extra napkins. Our actual server was the first to acknowledge, then possibly forgot and didn't come back.
If you like to play the games of caffeine then this is a coffee lovers dream. Dine in service and a chill playlist? Now that's what I mean. After having their coffee I was lit like a bullet and in charge like Steve McQueen. Located inside the downtown area this is one of those gems you can't afford to pass up if you're on a coffee hunt. I ordered an espresso shot to start off with and it definitely got me a little lit. My second drink was the cortado and it was a hit. My third drink was their Draft Latte and half way through I had to quit. I took the rest home because I was in the zone and who knew where I would roam. Overall I have to admit that their coffee is legit. The service is really good and the atmosphere is chili and eye pleasing. This is one of those shops you can actually loose yourself and time and that is totally fine. And that's my take on it, Peace.
The ambiance is very chic, relaxed, and contemporary. The service is friendly and fast, and the food is both tasty and healthy. The coffee has a great flavor, I ordered a latte, and it was really good! Overall, a wonderful place to enjoy a delicious meal and great coffee in a beautiful atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Fast service, and the food was good. It was a little more expensive than I expected, but it came out fast and tasted fresh. I felt the sandwich needed a little more sauce or salt, but it was still good. The drink was different not bad or good, just different. I'm not sure if I would order it again.
I've been here several times in the past and stopped in for a quick bite and some coffee. I had the egg scramble with bacon and potatoes. My son killed the potatoes, but I enjoyed my cup of coffee with eggs and bacon. I had their salsa, which was surprisingly flavorful at a coffee spot. Service was quick and polite. The decor in this place is modern vintage. Calm lighting with plants tucked away here and there. Love the vibe.
My husband and I were looking for a coffee shop that has in house made syrups for lattes and found this place. I recognized the name since I've gone to their other location in orange crest (Riverside). Service was excellent and we decided to dine in and order breakfast as well as hot lattes. For breakfast we ordered: the Turkish eggs and the soft scrambled toast, both were filling and tasted great! For the hot lattes we ordered: the honey lavender and vanilla, both were absolutely delicious! We enjoyed our breakfast and lattes! Definitely worth coming back!
What a lovely coffee shop! The line was out the door and place was bustling with business. L We were greeted by the hostess, who asked if we'd like to dine in. There was also a separate line for coffee to go orders. It took about 10 minutes for us to be seated. We ordered a Honey cinnamon latte and a draft latte. The draft latte was the right amount of sweetness. The honey cinnamon latte was also just right. Our food came out: we had ordered the huevos rancheros, the French toast, and the Yukon potato wedges. The huevos rancheros had a decent amount of food with a sunny side egg on top. The French toast was unique: it was made with persimmon butter, topped with matcha rice crisps. After our meal, the server let us move to the bar area so we can do some computer work. They didn't allow us to sit in the dining area to just work. We sat there until closing. It was a bit noisy but closer to closing, it was as quiet. There were outlets for our computers and free WiFi upon asking. Overall, it was a nice, social coffee bar with minimalistic decor. The coffee was good and the food was wonderful. The servers were bubbly and friendly. Absolutely a recommendation from us!
Sorry but overhyped. Also they gave this to me, said it was my party melt, and I said "are you sure?" "Yep!" Either the waiter didn't know what a patty melt looks like, or this was the weirdest, driest patty melt either (who adds lettuce and bacon?) even as a sandwich, it was pretty dry and unflavored.
10/10 jury duty detour. Imagine landing jury duty...and somehow scoring the PERFECT parking spot. Now imagine being excused after 30 minutes for THREE WHOLE HOURS...on a rainy day. There was absolutely no way I was giving up that parking spot...that's how I found myself walking to Arcade Downtown. Let me start here: I got aggressively caffeinated. Also had one of the best breakfast sandwiches-so good I ate before I taking a picture. Service was solid. This spot is perfect for sitting, thinking, reading and processing the fact civic duty comes around once a year. Thank goodness Arcade Downtown is a quick stroll away. I was hyped by the time I got back to the courtroom that I was almost disappointed they dismissed us same day. Low-key, I was looking forward to reclaiming that corner seat by the food counter. Great coffee/food/service. I'll def be back on non-civic-duty days.
What a great spot in downtown riverside. I found this place on yelp as I'm not a local...I hoped for the best and my expectations were meet. I was a little off put by the long line outside but it moved adequately. There was plenty of seating inside and out. For breakfast I had the apple danish and a chicken sausage sandwich. Danish was good, spiced apples on top were delicious. The star of the show was the chicken sausage sandwich. Unlike any sandwich I've had before it was deliciously seasoned and had a ton of fresh dill which I absolutely loved! This dish is a must try! read more

Had the turmeric chicken, apple bun, and hot chocolate. Really enjoyed the tumeric chicken english muffin, would order that again. Apple bun was ok, and the hot chocolate wasn't enough of the chocolate flavor. We visited on a Friday around 9:00AM and there was a line out the door. read more

Hey Karina! Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review.…
What amazing food this spot sets before you every time I order! Rather, I am having breakfast or lunch this place never disappoints. I have only dined here a couple of times, because I work nearby and pick up to-go 95% of the time. Honorable mentions for the menu: Avocado Toast - beautifully presented and popping with flavor. So savory. Breakfast Potatoes - crispy yet soft inside, seasoned well and delicious with any of the egg dishes (heck, even the burgers!) LOL Earl Grey Iced tea with simple syrup - always a winner, especially with the hot summer months coming up... I only wish they had a larger option to choose from. Scrambled Eggs - OMG!! served delicately soft with perfect seasonings. Sourdough Blueberry Muffin - each bite is full of blueberries and it's a great start to a morning without the sugar. This place gets busy during the morning hours for sure, and I recommend ordering online (that's what I do) They do not allow for substitutions, and you can't order sides through the website either... you'll need to go in for that convenience. I love the music here, and the vibe here is local, cozy. I have a theory that today's Coffee cafes' staff believe in the art of #slowliving - keep that in mind as you wait for your order, or when you watch the Counter staff prepare each beverage as they also greet and take orders. What I'm trying to say is have patience when you decide to visit. It's worth the time. Respectfully Reviewed. PS. Why YES, I am their local 'Bookfairy' - I leave books here all the time. read more
My mom, sister and I came to DT Riverside for a belated Mother's Day weekend trip and were looking for a yummy breakfast place. We stumbled upon the Arcade Downtown and had an awesome experience! Our server was so kind and energetic and had great recommendations. We enjoyed the vanilla latte which came with beautiful latte art and the taste of the espresso was so so good. Next was the breakfast plate which comes with a soft scramble, bacon and seasoned potatoes -- everything was incredible! If you like spicy, ask for the habanero salsa on the side. Last, we shared the horchata French toast which was to die for and had great flavor. The restaurant itself offers a dining in option (which we opted for) or has more of a coffee shop vibe where you can pick up drinks and pastries. Great seating options inside and out and it was busy on a Sunday morning which is always a good sign. Definitely recommend if you're in the area! read more

Arcade is my favorite café in Riverside. I have gone to a few of their locations but recently came to this one for the first time and it is so cute and aesthetic. I love the layout and the choice of the furniture. It's very modern, but cozy. For some reason, it is really hard to find a café that makes Matcha actually taste like Matcha and just by the color of the drink you can tell that it was divine . Because the drink was so good I had lower expectations of the food, but it was actually super great too for some reason the sandwich I got was nothing like what I expected to get, but it was delicious. I really have to say, though that the star of that dish were those potatoes and salsa combination. Loved the seasoning and how the salsa tasted homemade. Next time I'm in Riverside I'm coming back. :) read more

the girls working here were very nice and welcoming. Lots of places to sit inside, not too loud so good place to study/ read. The breakfast plate was just okay and simple. The potatoes were extremely big pieces but that's just me being picky lol. Eggs are a soft scramble which I enjoyed but I know it's not everyone's cup of tea. I tried their seasonal "That fall drink" which unfortunately I wasn't the biggest fan of. It had an overpowering clover taste that masked the other fall flavors. read more

Food: 3/5. Overall, both entrees were too salty for me. I was excited to try the Turkish eggs, but felt like it just tasted overwhelmingly salty--like a salty hummus with Chinese chili oil topped with parsley and 3 over easy eggs. It didn't help that it only came with 2 halves of a naan bread; the sauce to bread ratio was too big, and we were left with a bunch of sauce but nothing to eat it with. The patty melt was your standard patty and bacon on a sourdough bread, and it came with a side of salty potatoes. Service: 5/5. I'm only giving 3 stars total because the service was great, and our waiter was super nice. Ambiance: 5/5. The vibes were good, and the interior was modern aesthetic. read more
I'm so happy I found this place!! Driving by it's so easy to miss but it's definitely a hidden gem. To start, our waiter Kapono was amazing. He was in such a great mood and very helpful and friendly. The food was really damn good too! I had the only plate that has streak (sorry can't remember the name) and the meat was so fresh, so tender and juicy. I did not expect it to be so good. I'll definitely be coming back again soon! read more
The good: Great location, in a quiet plaza in the heart of downtown riverside. A hot breakfast menu and fresh meals with friendly service. Less good: The espresso was a bit too bitter for my taste, and the ambiance felt more geared toward those who wanted to stop by for a quick bite, not so much for those who wanted to stay for a while. read more

I've come once before a few years ago for a meeting. I got a matcha. I've been wanting to come back for brunch. I set up a reservation online, very easy and quick to do it. After the appointed time, you have 10 minutes before they give up your table. The cafe is rustic and contemporary, with wood accents. It's very hip and trendy. It's a pretty big space, with plenty of tables and other seating. Most of the customer base is young adult as well as the staff. I checked in with the hostess. The host stand is to the left of the entrance. Right in front is the coffee bar, wheee drinks are prepared and pastries available like muffins and cookies. I was seated and given the menu. My server was very friendly. The table has glasses and a water jug available for serving. I chose the huevos rancheros, which is only available for Sat + Sun. My drink, I got a matcha. Sever recommended the vanilla syrup and said that everyone raves about the huevos rancheros. My order was served promptly. The huevos rancheros were served in a way I never had before. It came with tostadas, with the egg, beans, meat, and salsa. It was very good! I enjoyed it! My matcha was prepared well, with the vanilla and matcha blending together perfectly. Server was always checking in to make sure everything was good. My order came out to $27 with some change plus tip. Very happy I got to experience here! Thanks! :) read more

Myself and sister decided to experience this place for the first time . As soon as we walked in it felt like the guy employee simply judged us by the face expression but I just decided to brush it off . The service was just not the greatest , the male employees just don't really give the greatest welcoming. As of the food it was a 1 the french toast was very sweet I had to just eat it since it was a little pricey $17. Place it's nice , overall I give this experience a 1 very disappointed! read more

Arcade downtown is a cute little cafe/coffee spot in the heart of downtown Riverside. My niece and I decided to try this place for the first time. The place is clean and the staff is very kind. We came on a Thursday around 10 am. There is plenty of room to sit. It seems like a lot of people come here to work/study. My niece had the breakfast egg, potatoes & bacon. We shared a strawberry French toast. Not an original French toast but it was so good, soft & fluffy. I had the not so avocado toast. It was so delicious! Our experience was great! The food is great to get something quick to eat. Maybe not an ideal place if you want a large meal. I hope to return to try their caffeinated drinks. read more

The food was spectacular. We had the steak and eggs and banh mi sandwich. The banh mi was the best I've ever had. The bread was crisp and tangy and the pate was savory and delicious. We just moved from Irvine and this is our first day in Riverside and the first place we checked out. Overall, it's amazing. The aesthetic and overall ambiance of a coffee shop is wonderful but with a sit-down restaurant vibe as well. Our waitress, Chloe, was amazing. So nice and helpful and we took her up on her suggestions for food, the Downtown Egg + Cheese and the steak and eggs, and now I know why The Downtown Egg + Cheese is her favorite. It was filling and beyond tastey! The steak and eggs was also great and the steak was cooked perfectly. We also got Lattes with Oat milk and Salted caramel syrup and they were good! The coffee was strong and tasted great but not too overpowering. They apparently do seasonal and weekend specials for food and drinks so excited to come back and try the new items! Food and drinks was a 10 out of 10 and Chloe just made it that much better! Definitely recommend this place to people passing through or people who live in the area. Definitely coming back, this place does not disappoint! :) read more

Its been 2 years since they opened this location. So what took me so long? Or better yet, what took me so long to experience any of The Arcades at any of their locations? In case you are wondering, there is another Arcade and a bakery, Bakehouse, located in an upscale part of Riverside, Canyon Crest, which is not too far from the UCR campus. This location is located on the beautiful historic downtown promenade that is bracketed by Mission Inn, City Hall, and the magnificent 1904 Superior Court building. Parking is plenteous, especially if you use the multilevel parking structure right across the promenade from the cafe. There is also some street parking, but don't count on it. The interior is minimalist, industrial modern. There is plenty of small, flat top seating and counters with barstools. This location seems to be a popular spot for students and business professionals to meet or work on their laptops while nibbling and sipping on coffee drinks. Temptation smacks you in the face right as you enter. A small case of baked goods, muffins, cookies, scones, baked fresh daily at their sister location, Bakehouse, are there to torment you until you relent. I could not resist the Carrot Brown Butter muffin, and it did not disappoint. I chose my other breakfast items from their side order list. My scrambled eggs were wonderfully buttery, lightly salted, and very moist and delicious. To that, I added a side of bacon, 2 slices, that were thick, big, and nicely smokey. Perfect breakfast food! Mr. B had a big, beautiful, blueberry citrus scone. Very good! He added an Arc burger, prepared as a smash burger. The hamburger meat is made from beautifully aged beef and is quite rich tasting. This is a great tasting burger you will not regret ordering. On weekends, they serve from a brunch menu, not too terribly different than weekdays, with the exception of serving alcoholic beverages, too. Brunch on the weekend is by table service, and they recommend reservations. My coffee included a small cup of rich, thick cream. While I found it to be a bit thin, acidic, and floral for my usual tastes, it grew on me. That particular bean was Piccaal Fuente from El Salvador, a medium roast. Free refills. The only downside was with this type of Industrial modern, minimalist decor, I found it to be distractingly echo-y inside. The decor was softened with an artistic wall of hanging pathos plants. Outstanding service, friendly and caring staff. This is a great little spot that adds class to an already attractive downtown. read more

I finally got around to writing this, and Arcade Coffee Roasters Downtown deserves all the love. Their brunch? So good. I ordered the "Not an Avocado Toast," and I loved how it was deconstructed with thoughtful, flavorful elements: charred avocado, pink peppercorn honey, crème fraîche, grapefruit, and sourdough. Every bite had a perfect balance of richness and brightness. The sourdough? Delicious. I also got an iced latte with just cinnamon powder, and it hit the spot...smooth and well-balanced. Beyond the food and coffee, the aesthetic of this place is everything; minimalist but warm, stylish yet inviting. And the service? Incredibly sweet and welcoming. If you're in the area, this spot is a must. Can't wait to go back! read more
Decided to try arcade once more. The matcha was good so I decided to come back for a latte. As always the service is great. However the coffee was terrible it was more syrup than anything and the syrups were off putting. I have tried their Chai 4/10 Lattes 2/10 Matcha 8/10 Overall it is a skip on the coffee shop list and it will be my last time trying it. read more

Do you need reservations for weekend brunch? Do they even take reservations?
Hey! We take both reservations and walk-ins!
Where is the best place to park, closest to here?
There is a parking structure across the courtyard (adjacent to Fire up grill) and free 1 hour parking along the street (four spots and one handicap I believe).
