They have some good stuff that are way overpriced because it's donated. Some of them are broken and they still sell it. My biggest grape is is that when you go to pick up an item they're having you in the same line as drop off and it's holding up the line. They should have two designated areas, one for drop off and one for pick up. It'll make the lines go by so much smoother. read more

Arc Thrift Store - I am number three behind the first car and the guy been holding us up for over 20 minutes - Used, Vintage & Consignment Near Me - Broomfield, Colorado

I have only ever been to this arc two times and both times Angela, the "night manager," was extremely rude to me and several other customers. The first time I went, she raised her voice at another employee who was clearly differently abled in front of several customers. Unprofessional and I'm sure embarrassing for the employee. The second time I was trying to return some boots I had bought within the time stamp of the policy. Both tags were still on and I had my receipt. Everything was just as it needed to be. Another employee sent me to the return station and, before I could even speak with Angela who was going to handle my return, she was extremely rude to another customer who had his kids with him, telling him he shouldn't have been digging in baskets when he was just asking the price of something. He then apologized and she ignored him and threw the item behind the counter. Then she turned to me, like I said I had everything in order. She was very curt with me and even though I had everything I needed to in the policy she refused to do the return. She said it was because the tag was not in the correct place but I showed her the SECOND tag in the boots she still refused to return the boots and told me that I could come back in on Tuesday when the store manager was in. I will not be back to this location as long as this person continues to be disrespectful and rude to people just trying to get on with their days. read more

The store is very big and has a great selection, but my experience has been ruined by one of the workers, Angela. She is extremely rude, not only to my boyfriend and I, but to other customers and even other employees. Upon my first visit to this arc, Angela was very rudely chastising a disabled employee who had done nothing wrong. I watched the whole interaction and she was speaking to him in a way I wouldn't even speak to an animal. Then, when I went today, she very rudely spoke to a man before us when he had accidentally went to an area he wasn't supposed to go. He was very apologetic and kind, and she snatched the item out of his hand and snapped at him. After that, my boyfriend was trying to return a pair of shoes he had bought. We were within the return window, both tags were on the shoes, and we hadn't damaged them. They had been worn once for about 2 hours. She refused to do the return and found any excuse not to, and acted like doing her literal job was the end of the world. Safe to say if I return to this arc and see Angela, I'll be heading right back out the door. Customers beware. read more

BEWARE: This ARC store at 540 E. 120th Ave. in Northglenn sells COUNTERFEIT GOODS (fake brand-name merchandise) and the "manager" doesn't care. They sold me a BURBERRY bag & wallet for $80 from their locked glass case. When I tried to return it 12 days later after receiving confirmation from Burberry that it was not a pattern they didn't recognize (ie FAKE) they refused to accept the return because it was not within their 10-day return policy (I was busy caring for a sick family member). I told the "manager" he's selling counterfeit goods, he shrugged his shoulders and said oh well, sorry. read more

The store is average in most departments, but employing and maintaining the cash registers seems beyond the management's ability or desire to address this. I have put my items down and walked out often due to the extremely long customer lines. If I walk in and the line is long, I turn around and walk out. This store is so aggrevating!!! Broomfield city said they were going to come by to pick up donations on spring cleaning day. After setting our things out. No one ever came. Then they kept giving us the run around about coming to pick stuff up. After three days of lying and talking to less than capable people, non of them knowing or understanding what's going on. They say they don't service the area. It sounds like they need to contact Broomfield city and tell them they don't actually pick anything up. Considering the city says they do. This is how you decide to treat donations.... read more

When dropping of items at this location the staff is routinely rude and down right mean. If this were just a one time occurrence, no big deal. However, this seems to be the common theme when either my wife or I take items for drop off. At this point, I will take items to other charities or just throw everything away. Being treated poorly when you're trying to serve others is just not worth it. read more

This location is one of my favorites, I like how the separate the clothes. Not all places do it by size, so that's nice. As far as thrift stores go, this one is pretty clean and organized and doesn't smell gross haha. Most of the staff is friendly but on multiple occasions I've had a staff members bump into me trying to put things back and not say excuse me or sorry. I've also experienced staff rolling their eyes when I ask where something is. The other thing to be aware of is that the prices can be a little high for used items so I usually only shop there on Saturdays when almost everything is 50% off. I'm still giving them 4 stars though because it is a thrift store and for a thrift store it's pretty good! read more

This store is way over priced , And this is the first and last time I will shop here, I have been shopping at Arc for numerous years and also donating. I couldn't believe the prices on used items here? I am not sure who these people are that are working here. And it seems like management don't care about the customer when a question is asked. Overall, I enjoyed my trip to ARC Thrift Store... not sure why others have had such a "less than" experience. Although, I'm an eternal optimist and am always looking for (and finding) the silver lining. So, there's that. Take it as you wish. Peeps were smiling, even laughing and everyone said hello and asked me about my day... it was a little busy but there were enough staff to handle everyone smoothly. ARC is a bit big... that's a good thing and like, a big box store, they seem to have a little of everything. I happen to love shopping at thrift stores and could easily spend a chunk of time here... clothes are well sorted and arranged by type and size, and sort of by color. Hey, that's helpful if you're looking for specifics. Lots of random things (furniture, books, sporting goods, glassware, collectibles, linens, and fabrics even) but decently sorted and separated into areas or sections. My only suggestion would be to have the large blue bin right inside the first set of double doors staffed by employees who can offer you a receipt for your donations check these things into the business and also to ensure that others don't grab them on their way out of the building... just sayin. read more

I've been coming to this ARC, almost religiously, for about 15 years now. I've always sold things on Ebay and Amazon so thriftstores are part of my life and this one happens to be the closest to my house. Additionally, I've donated hundreds of books, toys, and other items over the years to this specific location. I've probably been in this store over 500 times in my life (no exaggeration) and have spent somewhere ranging in the thousands here, from couches to lamps to everything else. Up until today its never been anything but a routine and pleasant experience for me. That brings us to today. I had got off work still wearing my Zoe's kitchen shirt and my black restaurant slacks. I filled a cart with some clothes that looked like I might want and went to try them on in the dressing room. This is where, things went off the rails. While trying things on I tried on some blue jeans. They fit horribly and looked like bell bottoms. So I decided against them. AS I was leaving to check out, I was approached by a group of employees and a manager. She didn't mince words. She outright accused me of stealing and "altering tags." At first I was a bit confused and thought they had just mistaken me for someone else. I don't steal things, its not who I am, and I sorta laughed a bit at first thinking clearly they would realize the screwed up here. She then accused me (this is the funniest part) of stealing the shirt I was wearing. The shirt I was wearing is my Zoe's t-shirt the restaurant supplies us with. It's required to be worn while working. Her claim was "I priced that shirt last week myself." At this point my patience was getting worn thin I was getting annoyed and with good reason. I hadn't done anything wrong. She abandoned the shirt accusation after I told her I had paycheck stubs and receipts from today that showed I do in fact work for Zoe's kitchen. I told her she could call the restaurant and confirm I had just left there. About 12 people had seen me there wearing exactly what I had on. She then said that one of her employees said I entered the store wearing blue jeans and not my restaurant slacks. Again, I shook my head and said, no that is absolutely not true. But one of her employees kept on insisted I was wearing blue jeans to my own confusion and exasperation. At this point they just all sorta walked away, all just walking in different directions. I'm not joking, the conversation just suddenly ended. I looked around like "Is this for real?" and proceeded to go to the counter to pay for all my items. No police were called, and I thought about calling them myself. At that point I demanded to talk to the manager again. I know I did nothing wrong and was getting madder by the minute. I also demanded to see the footage they claimed to have. And it was well worth the wait. About 20 minutes (not sure why it took so long!) later she let me in to the office. She then proceeded to show me "the footage" which was of the one entrance to the store in horrendous resolution. This man looked nothing like me, he had white pants not blue at all ("its a whitish-blue she later amended to the story),at least a few inches shorter than me (I'm 6'5), and wearing a coat and a hat and different shoes and didn't have a BEARD ( I DO). In fact the only similar trait was that we were both apparently white and male. Age, any facial features, or anything remotely useful was obscured by the pitiful resolution. I didn't even acknowledge the man because I thought they were just going to roll the footage until I walked in. But they just stopped it there and said, "That's you." I absolutely have no words to describe the confusion I was feeling. NO it is not, I told them. Friggen look at him. Followed by, are you actually insane? They all just stared at me like robots and just kept saying "that's you." It was like being stuck in the twilight zone. My guess is they saw me on the footage, saw that I was telling the truth and proceeded to showed me some random pixelated dude to cover their collective butts from a potential lawsuit. I'm absolutely disgusted with how I was treated. OVER a decade of spending money in this place, my entire family shopping there, my sister, brother, Dad and Mom, and all the donations we've made, all to be treated like some dirtbag who would steal a pair of 5 dollar slacks. (I spent 50$ on my way out, btw). They shouted "Don't come back!" which was salt in the wound because I had been coming to that store before any of them even worked there. Short of a lawsuit I'm told I have no recourse. I just have to accept being slightly humiliated. My entire family is in full boycott of this store now and I would say avoid unless you want to risk being accosted. read more

I am so over the employees and their bad attitudes here. Its very uncomfortable when an employee makes an announcement in the most miserable and annoyed tone of voice 30 mins or more before closing time.. then mobs through the aisles hastily putting the go backs on racks within inches of browsing customers. Several times I've been in this store and instead of the nasty announcement, they simply cut the store lights and music then silently stand at the register waiting. Did I mention this routine occurs a half hour or more before closing? I frequent thrift stores throughout Denver and the surrounding area 4-5 days a week, and less frequently also in Ft. Collins and Boulder. This particular store is one of the only 3 thrift stores within a 15 mile radius of my home, and I almost always leave with one or two bags full of great finds. I have shopped here consistently (more than twice a month) since moving to the area a year and half ago, and the store experience has been the exact same each time. Despite its close proximity and excellent selection for what I'm shopping for, I will not be returning, ever. Yes.. it is that bad. read more

Their customer service was anything but cheerful, but I only interacted with one employee, the cashier, so my experience may not be indicative of the staff as a whole. I only shopped housewares, furniture, and books. They had a nicely organized and large selection of books, but their prices are too high in this department. Their selection of furniture was fairly large and of varying quality. The housewares area was ok. Also, they have a ton of CDs and tapes which are all way overpriced for being so outdated. read more

I'm giving this 4 stars simply because their clothing is organized both by style (shirts, tanks, shorts, etc) AND by color. Awesome. This location has an extensive collection of housewares - dishes, books, trinkets. vacuums, lamps, movies, books, tables, couches... you name it. Their men's clothing collection is small - but better than average. As usual there are lots of women's & children's clothing. The only thing that kind of creeps me out is the collection of hosiery and other undergarments. If you're hungry after all of your shopping, stop in at the other end of the mall for a bowl of Pho at Pho Duy or peruse the Pacific Ocean market :) read more

I enjoy coming here because occasionally they will have some cool artwork, mirrors and vintage furniture. They get so many donations that every week there's different stuff (and to a good cause!) Some of their art I think is way overpriced - $80 for something they got for free! For some reason, they sell small canvases that were obviously painted by amateurs or kids for $5. What a jip. The store is messy but I guess that's what you can expect from a thrift store. There's a good selection of kitchen stuff. I never look at the clothes so don't include that in my review. However clothes are about 75% of the store. read more

My rating covers both my shopping experiences as well as donation experiences. For donations, I'd give them five stars. For shopping, I'd give them three stars. The place is kind of sad and old, but I've found a couple interesting items. Most of the clothing is very outdated but in good shape. They have dressing rooms but nothing is fancy. The prices are reasonable and everything is fairly organized. But it's so easy to donate! Put everything in the trunk of your car and drive around to the back of the store. There are people working back there, and they take your items and give you a receipt for tax purposes. It's so much easier than donating anywhere else. Everyone is always very nice. Pretty well organized clothing and shoe areas. The sporting goods area was a little crazy, and there are exposed nails (careful!) in the bins. Plenty of selection by my standards: clothes, shoes, scarves, belts, bags, bikes (adult bikes seemed to be $24.99 and up, based on my quick scan of prices), sports balls, helmets, art and office supplies, filing cabinets, housewares and organizers, watches, sunglasses. Well stocked, good prices. Staff at registers and near locked cases was not super friendly, especially compared to forgotten treasures, but still polite enough. Exception: a really nice gentleman in the hardware area helped me and other customer find what we needed. I only wish they had a costume section. That's what I came in for. Maybe they didn't have any costumes yet, but usually separate those out when they do have them. However, I did leave with a few things that I could use! read more

In terms of how great of a thrift store this is: It's great. I don't have a problem with the products or prices. However, this review is about an employee. One of the cashiers, who has pink hair, was utterly dreadful. While I was waiting in line, a customer in front of me told her, "Merry Christmas!" to which she replied, "Yeah maybe..." and continued on with a story about her "dead-beat husband" who "sleeps on the couch all day" and her four disabled children. It's horrible that that's her life, but private life should be separated from work -- ESPECIALLY in customer service. The man was clearly uncomfortable. Then when I came around, my total came up to $7.01, and she asked if I wanted to round to $8. If I had the money to spend an extra dollar I wouldn't be shopping for clothes at a thrift store to begin with. But I'm a loving, giving person -- times are just hard now. But even times weren't hard -- that isn't the point. I told her no, and continued on. When I wasn't even ten feet away, she turns to her coworker and says, "Psh. Doesn't even round up. And I saw she has all that extra cash in her wallet!" I was very uncomfortable and embarrassed. 1. I'm a barista -- that cash is what I live off of. 2. Really don't need anyone peering into my wallet. I work in customer service as well, and trust me, I don't like every one that comes in. But I have the decency to talk shit when they're not around and I'm at home. That's the basics of any business, any where. It's also none of her business why I didn't round up. She obviously has no courtesy or care of the customer's experience and I honestly hope to never see her there again. read more

Horrible experience today. An employee repriced a purse that I put on hold & everyone denied it. It was half off Saturday & the place was busy. After I bought a long sleeve top, I browsed the purses hanging & secured to a rack. I liked one especially because it was only $29.99. It had a green tag & wasn't half off. I requested to see it and an employee had to get a pair of sissors to get it off the rack. I had her hold it and told her I'd be back later in the day. I went back to purchase the purse & noticed that the price of the purse was now $150.99!!! The tag was still green. I told the cashier that it was $29.99 earlier today & she said it's $150.99. Needless to say, I didn't buy the purse. Watch out for price scamming. They will change the price & color of the tag on a daily basis. read more

We recently found a NEW dining table and chairs at this location that we wanted but decided to wait for their 50% sale on Saturday. We arrived 30 minutes before the store opening and 25 minutes later we discovered 8 other people in line for the same thing. I'm in my late 60s and unable to compete with the others. The store manager, who saw that we were waiting even before she got to work, graciously allowed us our first place in line and made certain that we weren't bullied or shoved out of line. Long story short, we were able to purchase the table and they even helped load it into our car (that took 3 trips to accomplish!). It is so rare any more to have this kind of help. This was the only way we could have afforded such a nice set and our old one was 20+ years old. Thanks so very much for this simple act of kindness. read more

I love "thrifting"....going to a regular department store or a mall is almost boring in comparison. Sometimes I have something specific in mind...a black cardigan or a pink blouse..and I usually find it. Jeans? Meh...harder to find. I have bought most of my dresses and skirts at ARC Thrift Stores..and even my wooden coffee table. I know I have saved hundreds..maybe thousands? Over the years. Sometimes I just have a few bucks and some time on my hands, and I might find some doo-dads for decorating the house..or some cool dishes from pier one...for cheap ! This thrift store has better furniture than the ARC in Aurora, but the Aurora ARC has better clothing choices, and dishes. The media at this ARC is separated and closely guarded...unlike Aurora where, if I feel the notion to buy a used CD to play in my car on the way home, "the Wallflowers" or "Lisa Loeb-Stories" is popped right into my CD player because I did not have to go to the front of the store (as in Broomfield) and go out of my way to search for it. I have noticed with the economy that more people are frequenting thrift stores...more power to them ! I just wish some of them would go back to retail so that I didn't have so much competition now ! On the plus-plus side, ARC's profits hopefully go to the intended charity they promote, so not are we only reusing and recycling....we are doing some good? I know I bring car-loads of things in. A few years back this was the place to go and find some really nice things, we visited just yesterday and I was a little than less pleased with the selection and the store in general. The items were way over priced (being they are donated items to begin with), and most of what I saw was junk. I don't think I will be visiting that same arc again, it seems as though the management may have changed, I just never remember that store like that. At any rate I may visit another one in the area, and see if it is any better. BTW we were looking for curtains, and did find a set. read more

One of the better ARCS in Denver area. I have shopped 5 different ones (3 regularly) and of those this is my favorite. ___________ The book area is well organized and they have places to sit and read which is BONUS. The women's clothes area is great. Not so crammed, well divided, and by size. Shoes are at the back and close to the dressing room... great to pick up a pair when trying on a something. Pillows are not up and out of reach - just a little over eye level or in a nice shelving piece by the books. Despite what others think - they do take the old stuff off the floor. I have been going on Wed. which is the day that a new color is 50% off. I see them taking the old color off the shelves/racks. ***Where it goes from there is a mystery**** Hum.... Houseware stuff (minus dishes, plasticware, glassware, pots/pans/ office) is now divided by color. Cool if you are shopping for a color but not so much if you are looking for a specific thing - like decorative vases, frames, or bowls. ISSUES: Do they quality check clothing? I do come across clothes with stains. A shirt that is cute , but closer look I find stains, for $5 for example. This to me is quarter territory. They have few appliances at this one :( I get much better luck at W. Colfax Wide selection of furniture. But most of it is overpriced for its condition .... beat up (many scratches, rips, drawer front coming off, broken stretcher on chair, frayed upholstery). So my advice is go to a used (not consignment since you usually pay more) furniture store. Most likely same price, better condition, and you might be able to arrange delivery. ___________ So depending what you are looking for this may be the one to visit! read more

I often visit the various arc stores around the state, and I usually focus my visits around the record albums. They usually have the largest collection of records among thrift stores, and the records are usually in better shape than other thrift stores. Granted, the store is limited by what is donated to them, as far as age and quality of the merchandise, but I usually find something that I like and happens to be in good condition, and oftentimes, the records will still have the shrink wrap around the album. I have been to this location more than once, and the cashiers have been very friendly and enthusiastic about what I have been buying, and making me feel good about my purchases. read more

I love their Saturday sale! 50% off most things, some of the staff are a little rude but you can find such deals. I just found Jean pant and short, pant, Hoodi,5 blouses,3 tops and a pair of danskos shoes. All best brands all great condition for 38 dollars! Look for coupons and use their email list for secret sales and coupons too. Get there early for good stuff. I swear half my clothes come from here and it is a great charity too, they will pick up big stuff from your house or you can donate around back. I like that if you get something large they will load it for you. read more

I agree w/Joshua G. that there is a lot -o- junk to be had here. I personally think this is probably at least partially due to the asstastic economy. I used to not shop here....now I do, thank you crap-conomy. That being said, if you have the time, and aren't looking for anything super specific, you can usually find some worthwhile stuff. I am slightly addicted to book browsing here. I have found a lot of classics for kids and since I have one crazy voracious reader and four more after her, this has been wonderful for us! The prices on books are usually between .99 and 5.99 w/most kids chapter books going for 1.49 which is a frickin deal compared to the $5-$11 each they go for at book stores (especially since it turns out to be less than library fines, or maybe that's just me....). Most of the furniture I've seen is complete crap, so, maybe don't bother going for that...... They use a colored tag system and every Saturday 4 out of 5 color tags are %50 off, so just go on Saturday and the whole overpriced thing won't be a problem. Also, they have a website and sometimes have coupons on there you can print.....yeah, that's pretty insane that a thrift store has coupons but I digress. Just go w/low expectations and you'll be fine! read more

I bought a pair of shoes from a well-known shoe designer here that I later discovered were knock-offs. The price I paid was totally appropriate if they were real, but was astronomical given the circumstance. I called ahead to see if they would be willing to do a price adjustment and after a quick consultation with their corporate offices they agreed. When I went in in person to do this adjustment, Dave, Terry, and another associate were extremely understanding and kind and they even gave me a refund on my credit card instead of store credit (which is their normal return policy). While Dave was figuring out how much he could reduce the price to, Terry and the other associate chatted with me and we compared other shoes donated by the same person to figure out which were real and which were knock-offs. All store employees I worked with were pleasant and, like I said, understanding. The store definitely took accountability for the fact that they were selling (some) knock-offs, and I can tell they weren't just trying to see me fakes for the price of the real ones. read more

I shop at about three different ARC Thrift stores in my area. This is one of my favorites as far as the merchandise. I'm deducting a star for the ridiculous prices and one star for the employees whom act like they they have to work here. Why are some items prices full retail? If I wanted to pay full retail, I wouldn't be at a thrift store. Do they forget that these items are donated? That's why a lot of items are there for several weeks and there is so much merchandise, it's hard to walk around the isles. Just putting it out there! read more

Nicer Arc, but 1 employee makes it horrible along with the Mgt all of a sudden deciding that nope we are going to toss all our used magazines. I was here 2 weeks ago & found a nice pair of sneaker but not priced. I found 2 other pairs just like it same brand for $6.99 with 1/2 price stickers. What does this floor mgr do? Goes in back & puts a current sticker for $6.99. What do I do - put it back. I spent $50 that trip. Today I go in and am shopping for toys for my grandson. While in toys the poor kid was stocking toys was having a bit of trouble. Someone decided to bring out 3 giant laundry baskets of toys blocking the aisle along with 2 kids chairs so NO ONE COULD GET TO TOYS. The young lady mentioned she didn't have enough room to put out all the bags. Since I spent 53 yrs in retail including 5 yrs opening stores, I decided to give her a hand. I moved all the bags to the back hooks & some of the larger bags to a shelf. I also saw they have all the games & puzzles stacking side by side wasting a ton of space. So I showed her how to group games, puzzles etc and stack them on top of each other with the labels out. Same lady comes running over to yell " THAT'S NOT THE WAY TO DO IT" So I pointed out you could get a lot more out the way I was doing it. . She goes " I've been here 15 yrs & I know best" WOW. Not 1 mgr was helping this young lady just tossed her out on toys with no oversight. The "15 yr" employee was about 50 with black & gray hair. This is what is wrong with Arc at all stores. You need someone who is good not only with customers, but has a clue on how to turnover inventory instead of putting in the dumpster. Knowing I would never be back at this store, I also noticed that about 25% of items are put out unpriced. Also why not put ALL color tags on sale Tue & Saturday. The point it to sell it vs trashing it. 50% of items are a good deal & 50% are higher than new. Why cause no one is paying attention to detail. You'll find a lot of gems at this store. The prices are quite low compared to name brand stores like H&M or Forever 21. I even found a dress from H&M there for like $10 when it's usually $20 at the regular stores. There's a nice collection of books and the staff are friendly and thoughtful enough. I'm giving this store 3 stars because in my mind it evens out. Donating is easy peasy, guys come out and help you unload. Buying big items is also easy, same guys come out and help you load. To them....you all are awesome. You deserve 5 plus stars. Now....for this location, the prices..... What are you thinking when you price your stuff? I mainly go for yarn, fabrics, fish tanks, and crafting. Let me just say. 9 times out of 10, these items are more expensive here than if I bought new. I have no choice but to wait for Saturdays if I want to pay slightly less than new. Honestly, please google prices of your items before pricing them and putting them out. Most of us know the price of new for the items we're looking for....hence why your stock may not be moving as quickly. $3.99 for a new skein of yarn is robbery. Walmart sells the same brand, size for $2.88. Last night I bought a new pack of pipe cleaners at Walmart for .88. I found the same size, brand new at your store, for .99. $9.99 for a 10 gallon fish tank....Petco sells them for $15. 9.99 is not really a deal if you consider the work you have to put in to make it safe for new fish. You also used to sell them with the pumps, rocks and heaters, (which made $9.99 a great deal), Now you sell it all separately. Please rethink your prices. read more
