Discovering Found Underground has changed my perspective on consignment stores overall but I love this one the best by far! Nancy, the owner, is one of the main reasons I return again and again. She is so welcoming and thrilled to have you shopping there. And I love how genuinely excited she gets when you purchase something - it's like she found the treasure with you! I came here and browsed around. The selection was okay for some people, I'd imagine, but for me, I just thought it was low-quality items without much potential for those "gem" pieces I've found at a lot of other consignment stores. The shoe selection was a bit small and lacking in variety and quality. I've found amazing stuff at the Boulder consignment stores like Rags, hip, and Common Threads and I'd suggest looking there over this place. Although, when I went there it was very crowded and ladies seemed to be loving the store, so maybe it's just me because I do tend to be very picky and decisive. The store was large and the rooms kept unfolding. There was a large selection of denim, so I have to give them props for that. Location is cute and the area is cute for a walk around. Edit 12/01/2012: I just wanted to respond to the owner's comment and to say that I actually never met her and I think she's confused me with someone else. This was my first time in the store and I had absolutely no problem with the store, but I just think that the selection was lacking and I understand that it varies from day to day. read more

One of the best second hand shops around. I've only purchased here, not consigned. They have a wide variety of fits and styles and everything is in pretty good condition. They also have pretty fair prices. I frequent Buffalo Exchange in Boulder alot because they're inventory changes so quickly, however, I would say Found Underground is more of the 'quality over quantity' type. read more

Found Underground is a great local business offering a huge selection of women's clothes and shoes. This consignment shop is a gem and I've found several specific items I needed for special events (and many things I just couldn't live without when I wasn't looking for them!). The owner is great...she remembers her repeat customers and seems to get a kick out of what she does. The brands are usually better and larger known brands, but I've also picked up a funky item or two from lesser known makers. I've consigned clothes at this shop, too, and they make it easy. Prices are fair, perhaps just a couple bucks more than I'd like on some of the newly arrived items, but many items are marked down in their back sale room for those of us looking for a steal. However, you can't beat their selection - sorted by clothing piece (skirt, shirt, dress, etc.) then by color and size. The only drawback is that they don't offer a lot for larger sizes. If you run anywhere from a 0 to a 14 in women's though, you'll be fine. (I only noticed this when a friend told me she didn't really like going with me because of that.) There is free street parking and lots of nearby restaurants. Definitely a place I recommend to others and will always shop at. read more

This place is full of crappy clothing and that aside, the owner is one of, if not the most, rude people I have ever met in my life. She is impersonal, outspoken in a bad way, and extremely unfriendly. She yelled at us and physically put her hands on us to push us out of her store for not wearing masks. We didn't know we had to wear them. Instead of asking if we had them, she started yelling and freaking out because we "needed to leave immediately" - i have never experienced anything like it. She's a psycho and I would never, ever tell anyone to consign with her. In fact, I would give something away before I'd consign with her. She's a loon. read more

I won't be returning to this store and I regret it because I had enjoyed the tradition of going here with my daughter. In the past I found some nice fashionable items in the store. Unfortunately, at my last visit I had an experience that took all the previous enjoyment away and I walked out after a brief stay. I found that there were two unleashed dogs roaming the store moving under the racks, sniffing customers and this was humoring the staff. I truly am an animal lover but this was uncomfortable to me. Consider that three weeks earlier my daughter had been in the store with her two year old daughter and was confronted by staff because her daughter was trying on shoes while her mother( my daughter) was also trying on shoes, the staff thought that this might not be good for the product. This story may not be problematic to ones reading this review, for me it is. I support businesses who I am confident have the same priorities as my own. We are not talking about a rambunctious two year old and anyone with a two year old knows this picture. Could a staff member have come over and offered a crayon or talked to the child? Is it easier to overlook a dog romping about a store than a toddler? As you read this review please know that my family owns multiple businesses and I come from a true understanding about the challenges of owning a business. I've brought a couple of friends in as well and although our styles are different they found things that they love as well. Good clothing selection, but also really awesome selection of designer hand bags and shoes. I love consignment boutiques and looked this up while in Louisville on vacation. It's a great shop. The prices are very reasonable and we also happened upon a $5 sale. My friend and I found a bunch of things we loved and when we showed her high school and college aged daughters our finds, they wanted to go. We had a blast trying on all sorts of things and found several items to buy. The store is arranged nicely. It's easy to find what you want and the staff are friendly and helpful. Just discovered this place and it was awesome. The owner is so nice and helpful. The shop is cute and they had some great stuff at amazing prices. They had designer brands and were having a big sale, so some items I looked at were less then $10! I also asked about consigning , and they have a really fair policy. The owner was honest about the best times to consign. I will definitely support these guys, not only because they are local, but also because they had such great customer service!
