As we were ordering we we asked if we had any questions or if we wanted to try any sauce. We made our order to go, smokehouse club pulled pork, and the brisket Mac-n-cheese. After we ordered we were asked if we needed anything, we were told we were fourth on the order board and it was ok to sit somewhere while we waited. The food is yummy, yummy. I love the club it's a salad with pulled pork, something love. Richelle said she yummy loved the brisket Mac-n-cheese. If you get it to go it will not look pretty when you get it home, see my picture, it was all mixed up but that is how Richelle would have eaten it any way. Fantastic food, Fantastic service, indoor and outdoor dining area. I think there were a few beer choices too.

The first time at the Corner Stone bakery we walked out after not getting our meal after waiting for an hour, so this time we're not getting fooled again. The difference at Storie's is our server Kelli recognized the issue, and told us there was a kitchen issues after our dinner was not out after 20 minutes. Kelli told us what was happening, gave us free pie and took our drinks off our bill and asked if we wanted it to go. Our dinner was finally ready after 35 minutes, so we boxed it up and went home. Kelli apologized multiple times, and that's how service is supposed to happen. The pie was fantastic, apple and coconut cream. Fish was very good, shrimp was good, mashed potatoes and corn ok. Tartar sauce, yummy. Thanks to Kelli for making our long wait

Ok, maybe not all that but it did give my wife and me a rush of nostalgia from simpler days gone by when service was fast, friendly, polite, and hung on a tray from your driver's side window. Not all A&Ws are the same or have the same menu. Some I've gone in are very modern and have the typical surly fast food help, sticky chairs, and so-so food with good rootbeer. Pulling into this A&W seems like little has changed in all the right ways. Pickup trucks lined up on our side with farmers, construction workers, and other blue-collar folks to have lunch. Friendly staff come out to the car and take your order, only now they have remote card readers. But the menu board painted on plywood in front of the cars is still there. The waitresses still wear those chrome change devices on their hips and they still know how to count back change correctly (few people do anymore). Our food came out fast, it was good and fairly priced. We listened to the farm report and investment news for agriculture on the radio while we enjoyed a meal from the tray mounted on the window. Even simple things like bringing out a cold bottle of catchup for the fries instead of those little wasteful foil packets that create a lot of trash matter. When you're done, you turn on your headlights and someone comes out and collects the tray. As we drove away I put on a 50s rock and roll playlist on my iPhone and we both said if we lived here we would be in every week. Keep up the great work blending the best of the past with the benefits of current technology.
