This meat sauce has the warm spices similar to pumpkin pie; cloves, cinnamon, allspice, sugar....its very different. Sometimes you just have a craving for Skyline. Today was one of those days and due to time issues we had to order for carry out. Please keep that in mind when viewing my food pictures and we did have about a 30 minute drive to get home. The pix aren't as pretty as dine in would have been but the flavors were not affected at all. Imagine the 5-way chili also has a mound of shredded cheese on top and comes with a side of crispy oyster crackers. Those came in a separate bag for freshness. We visit the Batesville location about once every three or so months on our way home from Lawrenceburg and have always done dine in. Everyone is so friendly and attentive to our needs and service is very prompt. If you have room for dessert try the cheesecake. Skyline chili has a big place in my heart and I crave it like every other local around here. This location is very close to home for me and love stopping by for a quick bite. I watched the new owners slowly make big changes this year and was worried. Painting the restaurant a blah white making it look soo outdated is such a turn off look for this one cheerful location. The cheese portions are much smaller now and you have to request crackers if you want them. The hot dogs are not cooked properly and taste off for some unknown reason. I'd skip this location the next time your craving skyline and go up a exit to St. Leon or brokeville. read more

Fast and friendly service from Faith. She is on top of the service with our drinks and foods quick and fresh. My local Ohio friend said he's had many times, his drunk food, it's good. He hyped it up. Very happy to find a Skyline location here. I am working in Batesville this week and a baked potato topped with extreme habanero sounded good. The salads have been updated since my last Skyline visit, and new ingredients have been added. I ordered a Greek salad and the addition of chickpeas and pepperoccinis are a nice improvement. Service is always exceptional at all the locations I have ever visited and this Skyline was no exception. Friendly, smiling servers and the manager walked through greeting the customers and making sure everyone was happy with their meals. I love the extreme habanero cheese. When this was first introduced I was afraid it was gong to be a limited time offering. However, it has been around long enough that I am hopeful it will be a permanent menu option. It is great on chili, on fries, on a baked potato. I would probably eat it directly out of a bowl, just by itself. read more

It has all gone downhill ever since the management changed. First they are cheap and made the drink glasses smaller AND don't give us a bowl for our crackers. Not to mention employees are rude. The final straw personally was recently when whoever the boneheaded person in management decided to switch from pepsi product to coke. Now the only place I can get Pepsi from is Tacobell, and it's watery there. Skyline is a Cincinatti area institution. Great food. This review is more focused on this location rather than the chain itself. This particular Skyline is the closest to my house in Illinois and I frequent it often. It is a converted Hardee's so it is not an original Skyline deisinged structure, but it serves it's purpose we'll. Food is always good at this location. I oredered the Chili 3-way and a Chili Cheese Cony. Both were as good as usual. I don't care for the water at this location. It is not far from the Ohio River and has a river water taste to it. Affects the tea as well. This location is right off Interstate 74 exit 149. Overall I would recommend this location as well as Skyline in general. read more

Food was great. Service was not. Skyline Chili is one of my favorite go-to restaurants. I rated this location at only two stars because service was very poor on our Saturday afternoon visit. My wife and I seated ourselves at the counter. Time passed with servers, manager, and others passing and working around us. We listened to several staff debate who was responsible for covering the counter. We sat for nearly 10 minutes prior to being greeted and served. While sitting and dining, grunge rock music was playing in the kitchen. It wasn't too noticeable unless the kitchen door swung open but that was a very regular event. Another staple restaurant in the chain industry for my family growing up (and still is). Located right off the interstate, it's a great place to grab and go. The service is a-okay. The food is exactly like nearly all other locations. This one does have a "local" feel to it, which is great. It makes it more personal and welcoming...at least for me.
