Good food, the service is normally pretty quick, the custard is also really good and they have great flavor of the day!

The cafe is located in the converted historic ROM Webber furniture factory. The Big Four cafe name honors the railroad line that used to pass through town. Courtney, our server, was friendly and attentive. She kept water filled and checked on us frequently. Food came out quickly. I had the Herb and Garlic Chopped salad, which was beautifully plated, fresh and delicious. Romaine, tomatoes, onions were topped with cheese and avocado. The garlicky vinaigrette dressing was tangy. I I also had a cup of the Texas Chili, which was topped with cheese and jalapeño slices. The beef was tender and the soup base slightly spicy. My husband had the Cuban Press (at Courtney's recommendation) and it was tasty and hearty. The sandwich was made using Indiana ham, slowed cooked pork and melted cheese. He said his sandwich was an easy 5 stars. Don't miss the beer battered onion rings which are fresh made and delicious. (I stole a couple of his rings.) There are roomy restrooms with changing tables. Free parking is available in front of the building. Worth a visit.

I noticed the good reviews so we drove an extra 10 minutes which turned out to be a worthwhile decision. Excellent spot for breakfast and the full dining area supports my opinion. I had the breakfast quesadillas which were delicious! My friends had a breakfast combo which she said was excellent. The server was patient and helpful as I vacillated between options. Definitely a two thumbs up experience and worth a drive!

Upon finishing our meal I noticed that there were three backs in the pieces that were left over. How do you get three backs out of 1.5 chickens? They obviously don't check for the right number of parts. It's seems a small thing to complain about but at $50 for the meal the backs have nearly no meat on them and so it actually raises the cost of the meal. I called ahead and they were very prompt in bringing the food out and the young lady was very courteous who delivered the food and took the payment. The old drive up restaurants are always cool to visit, it seems to take you back in time.

Ok, maybe not all that but it did give my wife and me a rush of nostalgia from simpler days gone by when service was fast, friendly, polite, and hung on a tray from your driver's side window. Not all A&Ws are the same or have the same menu. Some I've gone in are very modern and have the typical surly fast food help, sticky chairs, and so-so food with good rootbeer. Pulling into this A&W seems like little has changed in all the right ways. Pickup trucks lined up on our side with farmers, construction workers, and other blue-collar folks to have lunch. Friendly staff come out to the car and take your order, only now they have remote card readers. But the menu board painted on plywood in front of the cars is still there. The waitresses still wear those chrome change devices on their hips and they still know how to count back change correctly (few people do anymore). Our food came out fast, it was good and fairly priced. We listened to the farm report and investment news for agriculture on the radio while we enjoyed a meal from the tray mounted on the window. Even simple things like bringing out a cold bottle of catchup for the fries instead of those little wasteful foil packets that create a lot of trash matter. When you're done, you turn on your headlights and someone comes out and collects the tray. As we drove away I put on a 50s rock and roll playlist on my iPhone and we both said if we lived here we would be in every week. Keep up the great work blending the best of the past with the benefits of current technology.

This is a neighborhood bar that has good food, and a true regular crowd on the bar side. Big tables, if you have a group of 6-8. There is a less loud dining area. Monday to Sunday daily specials, some menu items you don't normally see, frog legs and chicken livers. Don't hesitate to try this place out. The Saturday we were there there was an issue with the pizza oven so our crust was a little burnt in a few spots, and very brown on on side, but the pizza was still good, plenty of sauce, cheese , pepperoni, mushrooms. Our waitress apologized, and offered to replace it, but we said we'll take it, I like a crispy crust. The boneless wing are a hit, very good, they have a thin breading with a hit of pepper, and a hint of other spices, they are delicious naked. I got the sriracha bourbon sauce, and honey bbq, I mixed them for a perfect flavor of sweet and heat for me. Well I had to get a pork tenderloin, it was delicious too, comes with tavern chips, yum! The beer choices are from the Anheuser-Busch and Miller brand, no fancy domestic beers or imports, or local brews, but that means no expensive pints, and I rediscovered my original favorite Michelob! Wait staff is friendly and service was acceptable for a packed bar full of folks watching Big10 football. So if you're not a regular find a seat and they will get there, in a few minutes.

As always in our reviews we started with an appetizer and we chose the Cheesy Bacon House Tots. They were delicious!! The spicy ketchup while nothing fancy added a great variety to oppose the ranch our wonderful server Joe recommended without hesitation. You can also add the warm soft rolls to the app experience. They were even more tasty. Could eat a ton of those alone and be happy! For our mains she got steak and shrimp and chose grilled shrimp as opposed to fried. She absolutely loved the steak and said it was exactly what she needed! The shrimp sadly, was not, she took a bite and had a reaction I haven't seen before. We believe the seasoning was just not to her taste. Our server Joe again was right on the spot and offered the solution to swap for the fried shrimp and they were so much better in her opinion. We cannot thank Joe enough for being so friendly and professional. She had mashed potatoes for her side and was not blown away but that is perfectly okay. The meal came with a salad, however it was okay at best. The uncut veg while visually appealing takes away from the eating experience. As for my main I ordered Messy Mike's Burger without the fresh red onion to medium well temp. The temp was overdone, but truthfully is no big deal to me. It was still tasty and very flavorful. An item I would order again for sure!!! The French fries were crispy and well seasoned and the green beans were also a great addition to the meal. Overall the food was great and alone is a 4 star given the remedy. The big driving force for the 5 star was the fantastic service provided by Joe. It isn't often I mention the server, but he was attentive, kept our drinks full, was polite and the true home run was the quick remedy of the issue with the shrimp. We hope the tip we left was enough to show him that we appreciated him and thought he did well!! We will return and hope to have him as a server again.

Ordered the NY Strip with Ancho butter, steamed veggies and a Caesar salad…read more It says something about a steakhouse when the best part of your meal is the salad -- and the Caesar really was excellent. Perfect portion, great dressing, well-balanced. Unfortunately, that's where the highlights end. The steak and veggies arrived shortly after I finished the salad, but the vegetables were cold and clearly undercooked. The bigger disappointment was the NY Strip itself. I ordered it medium rare and it came out medium well -- and I'm not exaggerating when I say the cut was barely a half-inch thick. Grey throughout, with zero sear on either side. To be fair to the kitchen, it's nearly impossible to hit medium rare on a steak that thin, so the real issue isn't the cooking -- it's the quality of the meat being sourced. The ancho butter was $1.99 extra and absolutely flavorless. Didn't even taste like real butter much less any seasoning in it. For a restaurant billing itself as a steakhouse, the cut and quality of the beef has to be the priority. This one missed the mark.
