So I looked this place up online. I was excited to take the drive out here to the coast from the East Bay! Parking was pretty long and consistent but not too bad. $20 to park and $10 back towards a pumpkin what a deal! We did buy wristbands! $45 is way to much! But we probably should have only bought one for my daughter. One parent gets to go free with the child. Not worth the price! Pumpkins are to expensive and they didn't have anything to eat or drink that had pumpkin theme. Or fall theme. The scenery was pretty! Was cooler because of the fog but still sunny! When we came in we tried to get coffee at the little shop! But the lady running the shop said "they were all out!" so I asked her "When would the next batch be ready?" She said, it depends on customer and had an attitude, sounded like she didn't want to make the coffee. So we ignored it and said we would come back later. We did love the maze! Probably one of the best mazes yet! Definitely what makes it 4 stars! and the bouncy houses were great! And the haunted house was definitely scary. The hayride was fun as well. There's a lot to do! And the pumpkins on the vine are very authentic and original! The wristbands are definitely worth it for kids who will be here all day! But a rip off for the adults. We loved it but don't know if we'd drive back and come here for the journey! Was ok experience!

We've been to so many pumpkin patches all over the Bay Area and this was truly a pleasant experience! More importantly, it was not crowded at all, which I feel like most of them can feel really overwhelming. Their pumpkin selection was very diverse, with so many to choose from. My kiddo loved pulling the wagon along to pick pumpkins. I like that you can either buy tickets à la carte (just for the attractions) or buy the wristband. Given my kid isn't going to want to do all the attractions, it was actually a good deal to just pay à la carte for things like just the train ride, hayride, etc. All the staff were super friendly and kind and helpful! We came home with four medium pumpkins and two minis for less than $35! They even offer a free mini pumpkin if you write a review and I can honestly say I didn't take advantage of it and wrote this review after coming home just because! Great way to kick off the spooky season!

Such a fun experience!! My boyfriend and I came here for a date for the first time and it was so good! We bought our tickets online in advance, the combo with the haunted barn and the hay maze. The haunted barn was pretty scary, the actors were great! The maze was very fun to do. Will definitely come again!

Second time here. Favorite thing is the maze. It's different each time and this time. Took us 19 minutes to finish the hay maze. The haunted house is different too but there's a few in there that can give you an unexpected scare. Petting zoo, love the goats so chill. Ducks don't like people though. Hay ride was fun too. Nice little ride around the farm. All in all I would come back next year for a third time!

This was such a fun pumpkin patch to visit! The haunted house was thrilling and they have a wide selection of pumpkins. It's also free entry (outside of parking costs, which partially go towards a pumpkin purchase). I would highly recommend this patch!

Beautiful & fun pumpkin farm. Only one that's open late until 10:30 in HMB. Parking was $20 but it goes towards pumpkins, the maze was fun esp at night, they had a haunted barn, pony rides and other fun stuff. Super cute and fun place. They have a lot of places to sit and eat with kids, a lot of tables and benches, and they sell packaged food and snacks. Prices vary on days, parking lot is pretty big

Super cute pumpkin patch !! The maze was $15 but totally worth it, very challenging to navigate and very fun to figure out w friends!! Lots of cute photo spots & parking is $20 but the maze was a unique feature we felt was worth it

Our family had a wonderful experience here. We love that it's free parking and free admission. We'd just have to pay for individual activities, which are also affordable, ie pony ride $10. Lots of cute spots for photos. We'd like more homemade snacks and drinks though. It would be a hit if they had Vietnamese corn milk or served some hot pumpkin spice lattes. :) Overall, highly recommend this farm!

Our favorite spacious dog friendly pumpkin farm!! We love Arata's and our pup did too! $20 parking but $10 voucher given back to spend. Staff were very friendly. Lots of pumpkins to choose from, a fun corn maze, kid friendly area, and haunted house! Will definitely be back with my girlfriends!!

Went here with my bf and our 9 month old dog! It was her first time at a pumpkin patch and we wanted to find one that was super dog friendly and Arata's was! While expensive it was one of the few places driving distance from san jose where she could do everything with us! We went through the hay maze and on the hay ride with her. They told us she could ride the train and walk through the haunted house as well! (without the jump scares of course) There were many dogs so beware of that, especially in the hay maze with the blind corners. But everyone was super respectful, and the dogs were having fun! The Hay maze was pretty difficult. Might have enjoyed it more on a cooler day, but after what felt like forever turning down dead ends, we finally cheated and asked one of the employees for hints. If you are interested in a challenge this is the place for you! As for pricing, parking is $20, but they give you a coupon for $10 off your pumpkin purchase. Activities were pretty pricey, we paid a little over $40 for two people to do the hay maze and hay ride. Pumpkin prices were not very clear as an employee looked at our array of pumpkins and wrote down a number ($69 for a huge one and 4 small/medium ones) with no price breakdown. I'm sure they would provide one if asked tho. And they had some of the biggest pumpkins that I seen at a pumpkin patch before. While expensive and a bit of a drive for us, we got everything we wanted out of it and had an amazing day with our pup Millie! We plan to go back next year and try some of the other dog friendly patches in the area.

This is one of the better pumpkin patches to come with your kids. They've got a hayride, train, haystack maze, petting zoo, playland, haunted house, and tons of pumpkins. Keep in mind, you will be paying $20 for parking, with a $10 discount at the register, you will pay for the rides as well as the pumpkins. It will not be a cheap day, but it's a fun place, run by a happy staff. There's plenty of parking, but I recommend you show up early, because it fills up quick.

Arata's Pumpkin Farm Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Arata's Pumpkin Farm

Food available for purchase?

They have a little shop with some snacks but otherwise it is BYO food (which is welcome!)

Are you allowed to bring wagons for the kiddos to sit in etc?

Yea

Are dogs allowed?

Yes but not inside the petting zoo

Is there a promo code that people can use upon checkout? Is it better to purchase online with the convenience fee, or in person upon arrival?

No discount code currently available. It's better to purchase tickets on site to avoid the online convenience fees. There were no lines for entry or attraction tickets when we visited on a weekend.

How scary is their haunted house? Do you think a 7 year old would be able to handle it?

Yes, it's really not that scary. And it's super short, like less than a few minutes through usually

Is the hay maze open this year (2021)?

Yes, as well as a petting zoo and haunted house.

Are there picnic/lunch areas?

Is the maze open this year? 2020?

Yup.

Does it open on Sundays?

Yes.

How much is the hay maze?

The maze alone is $12 or combined with haunted house its $17 :)

Do you have to pay for parking?

No there's no parking fee.

Is this place dog friendly?

Yes--on leash

Is the traffic really bad on a Saturday afternoon? Have heard some rumblings that you can end up in traffic for over an hour just trying to get in/out.

Yeah early a.m. is best as it's not Hwy 1 that gets FUBAR'd but 92 that gets all jacked-up. So unless you're coming from Pacifica or Santa Cruz I'd go early. I just went last Sat (10/20) and that was the case.

Are they still doing the minotaur this year?

Yes

Do they have wagons or wheel barrel to carry your pumpkins?

Yes!

Do they allow dogs?

Yes! We saw lots of adorable pooches big and small there! :)

I love seeing the field of yellow. It just makes me so happy. Sunflowers are one of my favorite flowers. They're just bright and happy looking and BIG! Whenever I was picking which ones I wanted, I told my boyfriend "it's go big or go home!" so I tend to always pick the biggest ones! Lol We ended up getting a dozen as he purchased the $20 per person for both of us. So much sunflowers! Hahaha I love it. We trimmed the stems in their tables area, and returned the cutter to the front. I saw that the person offer twine so I asked for some twine to help tie our bouquet of sunflowers. I definitely enjoyed being here, and I've been here twice so far. First time my bestie took me here to celebrate my birthday two years ago. Then the second time I came here with my boyfriend! :) They don't have a parking lot, but you can park on the street for two hours according to the street sign. To get this experience going, you'll check-in with the staff and let them know you want to do the sunflower experience. It's $20 for 6 sunflowers and they give you looper (thing used to cut the flowers), sign a waiver, and you can into the two different sunflower fields to pick which ones you like. If you want to walk the fields, without picking flowers, it's $12 per person. Once we paid, we grabbed our looper and headed out. We had the dogs with us, and they had a blast just walking around and taking in the scenery. We found the sunflowers we wanted, and headed back toward the entrance to cut and clean the ones we picked. When we were finished, they wrapped up our flowers in a bag with some water so they could make the journey back home with us. The staff here were amazing. Since it was our first time doing this, they were patient with us and explained their best tips to cut and clean. Very nice people all around! Definitely a fun coast side experience and a great thing to do when the weather is as nice as it's been. If you are planning on going out into the fields, highly recommend bringing shoes you don't mind getting dirty.

We lined up at our 730pm check-in time and waited 35 minutes in the cold and were only halfway through the line. We left because it would have been another 25-35 more minutes to get through the line. We did not enter the trail until 720pm, and that is after getting in line at 640pm. Just be aware. Which is fine, my family had fun and the actors inside are funny and well rehearsed. However, since we waited so long, we got out of the trail around 750pm. My kid wanted to play the carnival games, which close at 8pm, so we bought some tickets to play, and were out to the carnival by 752pm, they had already taken everything down and had only a few simple games still up. My kid was bummed, but I figured since there were no refunds, I could go back and get a snack instead with my tickets. I was denied and told to come back next week to redeem the tickets. I know this is all for a good cause and it really isn't too big of a deal, but it is silly that I literally bought the tickets within a minute and then walked back after the carnival being closed and then denied to even use the tickets on anything else and then told to come back next week. They were told not to sell any tickets since they were closing up the carnival early, but I guess it wasn't communicated well. I guess we will be back to use up the tickets next weekend...?

Our challenge: Find…read morecreative ways to enjoy and consume *100%* of the bounty that our friends at Greenhearts (and their partner organic farms) harvest from here in the greater Bay Area and deliver to our door-step week after week. No root, leaf, or berry will go uneaten. Especially the berries. We've been enjoying this delicious fresh bounty for over 5 years. Everything is amazing. The veggies are always perfect. Best I've ever had. Sweet, ripe, crispy, deliciousness. I even got my parents to sign up. I want to give a fair assessment: After 5+ years, we've received the occasional fruit that is disappointing - Cara Cara oranges are the best oranges I've ever tasted, but the strawberries picked at full ripeness sometimes only have a day or two left before spoiling, and stone-fruit like peaches, nectarines, or plums are occasionally be less juicy or sweet, probably depending on the weather that year. We still eat it all, even the kale, and the abundance of zucchini that arrives each summer. But our most difficult item has always been the beets. I love them, but my household thinks beets taste like dirt. I've tried dozens of different preparations, even my wife's grandmother's polish chocolate beet cake recipe, but to no avail. I had reverted to giving beets away to friends and neighbors because I couldn't eat them all myself. But no longer! Bring on the beets! (Lettuce Turnip the Beet!) I have a new trick up my sleeve: Beet Kvass - and I can drink it all day. Sooooo easy to make. In short: Raw, unpeeled, chopped beets go in a salt water brine, and get left in a warm dark place for about a week or two until the juice is funky, healthy, and delicious. Second stage fermentation (put the juice in a flip-top bottle) is optional and enables carbonation. Delicious! (Posting because I'm overdue for an update, but everything I said in my previous review still stands.)
