I am beyond disgusted with the way ARA Georgetown treats people in vulnerable situations. We came in for imaging for my disabled parent, just weeks after losing the other parent. We are grieving, financially struggling, and trying to navigate an already overwhelming situation -- and instead of even a shred of compassion, we were met with cold, rigid, and heartless treatment. We were flat-out refused service because we couldn't pay upfront. No attempt to help, no willingness to bill, no discussion of options -- just "no payment, no service." That was it. No empathy, no humanity, nothing. This is healthcare. Or at least it's supposed to be. But what we experienced was the complete opposite. In a moment where kindness could have made a difference, ARA chose cruelty. It is deeply disturbing that a facility entrusted with patient care operates this way. People are not just accounts or dollar signs -- especially when they are disabled and grieving. If you are looking for compassionate care, do not go here. This was one of the most dehumanizing experiences I have ever had. read more

On December 29, 2025, I went in for my mammogram and brought my special needs granddaughter, Tori Rain, with me. There was a small waiting room for her to sit in, and that's when Ms. Jessica and Ms. Amanda came in. They were both professional and personable, striking up conversations with Tori Rain. Though she is non-verbal, they thoughtfully changed the TV channel to something entertaining for her. I was so impressed by the care, concern, and compassion they showed my granddaughter. Their actions turned what could have been a stressful visit into a moment of kindness and comfort. Kudos to Ms. Jessica and Ms. Amanda for their outstanding compassion and professionalism. Applause and appreciation for front arena's WENDY (Wendi) who was unfalteringly patient with my multiple questions, and while welcoming, communicating with and responding to the public she was gracefully in the midst of personnel training! She was amazing! I then met Gail (Gayle) who ushered me to the changing/radiology area. We had a great experience at this ARA. The employees got us in as a walk in, were friendly, and made my 5 year old feel so comfortable.

I made an appointment for a mammogram and bone density in May. Took off work and the day before they canceled my appointment. Because I was going on vacation I put off making another appointment and didn't schedule the screening until September. When I got to my appointment I was told that they would do my mammogram and probably not do my bone density because they didn't have time. I kind of fussed and they did it anyway. My doctor ordered a MRI in October so made an appointment to have an MRI done on my ankle and it took several weeks to get the appointment. Once again the day before the appointment, Oct 31st they have now canceled me. I have decided that I will not go to the Georgetown ARA ever again due to these ridiculous cancellations. My insurance changes in 30 days and I cannot have this MRI on my new insurance. Now I will be driving to Maynor 45 minutes from my hometown to get an MRI before December when my insurance changes. Totally ridiculous. People have jobs and have to plan for these procedures! read more

You are able to schedule your appointments via online or phone. Once there for your appointment the wait time is minimal. This facility is extremely clean. Staff is professional yet friendly. You can book your MRI's, Catscan and so forth. read more

This was my first time visiting this location. Being an immunocompromised home, I obviously have to worry about catching and spreading and going to a medical facility where there are many unmasked people is very stressful. When I explained our situation, they took every precaution and made me feel very very safe. That alone gets them 5 stars BUT They did a fantastic job with my MRI. My gown and bottoms were nice and warm out of a heater, there was literally no wait other than the time it took to change my clothes, and the technician was friendly, courteous, and efficient. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. The billing practices are unethical, lack transparency, inconsistent and bordering on fraud. Complaints have been filed with the HHS of Texas along with major insurance carrier. All claims and billing are under investigation. Do not trust them. read more

I am not someone who ever complains. Just go with the flow, follow the process. However, in my 78 years of mammogram screening, this by far was the worst experience I have ever had. I decided to share my experience. The process for scheduling was good, the reception was good, the technician I got was welcoming and efficient. However, the process with the imaging machine was over the top painful. I yelled in pain, the first time ever to shout out. I would encourage ARA to look to incorporate more up to date technology, less invasive and overall less painful on the patient. I will not go through that screening ever again no matter what. read more

The WORST scheduling and billing department EVER! Passed around from person to person, no one able to answer simple scheduling questions. Trying to find out availability at ARA for MRI before I have my provider transfer the orders from another imaging center and they literally wont tell me if they have availability. Like its a big secret. Waited on hold 16 minutes for that? Wow. This is after calling Longhorn Imaging and Ascension Imaging which BOTH happily helped me navigate scheduling options. This has been the worst experience with a provider since a pediatrician submitted a hysterectomy for my 2 year old son! They send you a message link to fill out the paperwork. I spent about 30 - 40 minutes trying to get through all that on my phone before I get to a stopping point. I then have to go to a computer and try again. I have to start completely over and get to another stopping point. All our insurance info was submitted in the system. The stopping point was due to a possibility of metal in his eye and he was going in for an MRI. We could not get past a certain point to actually schedule online. I was told that someone would contact me. Well 2 people actually did. One to schedule a scan for metal in his eye. The other one called for the same thing, but said they were submitting this to his doctor. Ok. I thought it was all taken care of. My husband took my son to both appointments. The first one for metal in the eye was taken care of by insurance. The actual MRI though charged us for self pay. My husband did not realize it until we got our credit card bill. Turns out they never did a pre-authorization even though we submitted all this 1.5 weeks ahead of the appointment. So they over charged us $531 because someone somewhere did not follow through. Now I am having to pay for their mistakes! I am told I have to wait 30 - 40 days for the claim to go through for their mistake! I even had my insurance call them so we could do a post authorization and verify my copay was only $100 not $631! They didn't care. Still needs to go through the claim process. This whole ordeal has now taken over 4 hours of my time and $531 more than it should. I have been to ARA before and NEVER had this experience. This has to be the worst! I know their scheduling people are working from home. I don't know if they changed their system too, but something or a lot of thigs are not working for them. If you can go somewhere else, I would recommend that unless you have plenty of time and money to compensate for them. read more

The patient care staff is friendly and mostly proficient. However, the billing department is incompetent. EVERY TIME I have an imaging study performed I receive a bill in the mail. They are too lazy to process the payment through the TWO insurances I have. No surprise their call center is always backed up! Do not go here unless you are ready to where a mask during the MRI. They do not let you know that before you book. They just say you must where a mask to enter the building. There are plenty of imaging centers that do not require masks, only in reception area. I tried to wear the mask and then the helmet they put you in for a neck MRI. I felt like I was going to suffocate. Why can't you where a mask here? Don't they clean up after everyone? They do not care. I even asked to reschedule my appt upon leaving. The girl working the front office was so busy getting ready to close she said I will be with you in a minute I just said forget it. She was straightening up the reception area. They just lost my business. I told my friend about this and she canceled her appt with them too! BAD customer service here!!! read more

I got a call from my doctor's nurse to walk-in ARA for Chest x-rays. I went to the Georgetown location because it was the closer location to me. There were four people behind the desk checking people in (one of them a male). He motioned to me that he can help. I go over give him my name and tell why I'm there. He looks up my information and tell me to have a seat, they'll be calling me soon. It only dawned on me after about 45 or 50 minutes, that I'm listening to all the people checking in are being asked for an ID and insurance card. They are also being asked about their Covid status and told of their copay. I wasn't asked any of this. So I walk up to the guy and ask if I am actually waiting to be called or if he just have me waiting for no reason. He asks for my name again, starts looking at his computer and says, "Did I give you paperwork to fill out?" I respond, "No. Nor did you ask for my ID or insurance card". I then walked out. So being the only Black person to enter the clinic suddenly caused him to forget how to do his job. Racist Asshole. I will never go to that location again. I went to Quarry Lake where I'd been before. They are extremely nice and eager to help any and all that enter. read more

My low rating does not have anything to do with services at the Georgetown location. I just called to schedule qppointments. I was told to expect an 18 minute wait. OK, I can accept that I don't like it, but OK. And then it began continuous promotional talking. Every service they offer....continuous. Why can't it be silent or pleasant music? I can't continue with any task that requires concentration....I can't relax and just veg out. Please install an opportunity to SHUT IT UP! Try offering a number you can punch to hear about all the screenings .... I'll bet you will have less than a 5% response to listen. Oh and FYI, I don't need any prostate screenings. The front desk staff is marvelous! Very amiable and attentive. I was called back very quickly and the technician asked me what is going on with my affected limb. He cut me off when I was telling him and proceeded with getting me set up. Quick, in and out. I get in my car and am heading back towards the interstate when I get a call from the front desk staff informing me that the technician needed to get one more picture. He forgot one on the order -_- I'm glad they caught it before I went all the way home, but then again he asked me a question when I got inside and didn't even acknowledge my (again, cut-off) answer before he had me next to the X-ray machine. read more

Gift of time now requires that I get mammograms every year. Found it very difficult to make an appointment here by phone. Eventually gave up and entered my request through their online tool. Someone eventually returned my request via email. The whole process to make an appointment just seemed broken and daunting. Not professional at all. I loved the ease of this location. Plus, it was super clean and not crowded at all. The front desk people were pleasant but once I got to the back, I found the technician to be way too serious, a bit rude, impatient and not gentle. Look, you're going to put your hands on my body. Least you can do is lighten up a bit. I just found her to be unpleasant. It wasn't until I was leaving that she even cracked a smile and seemed somewhat friendly. Hopefully when I return next year, I'll have a different technician. read more

I have used Austin Radiological for about 40 years or so. For the most part, my experiences have been very good. The patient portal has been so helpful as I have had numerous procedures and have gone back to compare x-rays, scans, etc. I especially appreciate their separate services to make mammograms easy to schedule and comfortable to endure. ARA moved rapidly into the digital age before I even knew it. The fact that most providers are able to access our radiological reports on line still seems remarkable to me. I don't recall having any billing problems but I don't have a perfect memory anymore. If there was a bad one, I think I would remember. I live in Round Rock but I prefer the Cedar Park location. read more

I have had a few scans done at ARA at several locations. Every time I have needed a scan ARA says dr ordered with and without contrast. Every single time this has been a lie! I verification with my doctors and every time it has been ordered without contrast. This is a way for ARA to charge more money to patient or insurance. They call dr and suggest contrast and drs just agree apparently. When I pay off my payments to ARA they still call me and tell me they will turn me over to collections for not paying.. within less than 3 months? They are several months behind on their billing so why do they call me again for more money? The Georgetown location is the worst. The technician is extremely rude and unprofessional. The front desk a girl was to busy filing her nails instead of what look like should have been training a new person. Doctors always suggest ARA due to the several locations (that still takes weeks to get into any location) but I will start using Longhorn Imaging from now on. Absolutely awful experience! If I give zero stars, I would. My husband went in for a CT scan of his chest due to cancerous tumors in his lungs. We gave them the most recent scans from MDAnderson for comparison but their tech did not upload the correct ones, causing the doctors to give him the wrong initial prognosis. It took 5 long days to sort it out! I highly recommend that if you need scans, go somewhere else! read more

Due to the inclement weather, the soonest that I could get in for a full spine myelogram was in Georgetown, TX from Lakeway area. I was there with my ride, at 07:00, the woman in the front admitting and administering Covid questions, was preoccupied reading her book and couldn't get the forms to load and was completely checked out. The young woman at the front desk, was courteous, professional and respectful, I gave her several discs and copies of reports to copy and give to the Radiologist (showing cervical and lumbar fractures, thoracic kyphosis, scoliosis, etc. The male nurse was completely checked out, asked some questions, but did not listen and record what I stated as problems and that I had documentation with me from 2016 - through 2020. It was unfortunate that he did not care, nor appeared to have the abilities required to complete the job. I asked if I could send a comprehensive 2020 report of cervical disco gram that I forgot to bring to the appointment, could i send it to his ara email and he told me it was a security violation, then he gave it to me, but refused to check his email. Then Dr. Holman arrived, late, hungover and attempted a conversation of the procedure, which I listened to again. He had liquor on his breathe and was obviously hungover, he was completely not interested in my medical history, and did not ever even look at the documentation that I provided. I overhead the male nurse giving him incorrect information, regarding my case and attempted to correct the exchange. Then I heard, we will figure it out when we get in there. I asked to cancel the appointment, as it was apparent that they were not concerned, did not care and were not prepared. I walked back out to the front room to wait, and the large lady still reading her back, told me that I needed to check in. I replied, I checked in about 20 minutes ago. She said, you dont look familar, do you have a yellow wrist band, which I did hanging from my wrist and in visible sight. Disgusted over the lack of professionalism, no empathy and lack of abilities by all those encountered, except the lovely young lady at the front desk. We have a 9:30 a.m. appointment and have not received confirmation that our insurance is approved. ARA had our paperwork for a week and waited until after hours the day before to check with our insurance and see if we needed an authorization, which is needed. This morning, I spent an hour talking to our insurance, the doctor's office and Anna at ARA. Anna had called the wrong phone number, sent an email to the doctor's (but the doctor's office doesn't have an email), and informed me that the insurance doesn't open until 9:30 a.m., but I phoned my insurance at 8:00 a.m. and was able to get the correct procedures to process authorizations. We will never go here again. read more

I was hesitant to use ARA in Georgetown after reading several negative reviews. Glad I went and saved myself drive time. Front staff was pleasant, building nice, clean, and tech (Sarah) who did my sonogram was professional and friendly. I arrived early and called in early. I just called the number I'd been given by an Emergency Clinic and very friendly, helpful woman called me right back. I appreciated she gave me test date times and options of their different facilities around Austin. I would not hesitate to use ARA again or refer a friend. This place never sent me a bill and sent me to collections after one month of no payment. Come to find out they were sending it to wrong address. My phone number was on all my paperwork so was my updated address. They have now put on my credit report and I cant get it removed even though they are the ones that made the error. I did not receive the service I was expecting since my primary doctor recommended the office on Wyoming springs Dr. I have never went to an office where today I waited for over an hour just to be rushed out with no care for my issue. I now will have to find another specialist who hopefully will serve me and treat me better. If someone showed an ounce of care about me. We have been using ARA in Georgetown for 3 or 4 years for a very serious cancer my spouse has. I have never seen such a wonderful and great place in my life. First off, they give you great name brand coffee to start your day! Right after this, they also have the best facility I have ever seen in my life. The two receptionists Erica and Stephanie are so good to us that if they leave I will follow them and bring them back. They are incredible, and I have now known them for over three years. The Manager, Stacy is top notch and would do anything in the world for you, and we have been having radiology at least 8 times a year, plus even more when necessary and doing Cyber Knife. The ARA location in Georgetown is absolutely incredible! The Scan and MRI techs at ARA, r out of this world good. We know, as we have learned all about the requirements for things as complicated as Cyber Knife. ARA has even mastered the protocols and applications even for this too! Thank goodness for Clint there! I wish the other patient that used ARA at on this review forum in GT, would talk to the Manager, Stacy. She is the most wonderful lady in the world. We had an authorization issue when we first started there, that was not even really their fault, but they took the responsibility and made it right immediately. I hope you go back again and try them as we have had nothing but wonderful things to say about this facility for as long as they have been working with us there. Thanks for allowing us to thank ARA in Georgetown for the wonderful service they have given us in treating a very, very serious cancer over the years. We will never forget their kindness and graciousness to us, ever! We are seniors in Sun City who have lived in GT for many years now, and also used ARA first in Round Rock, and when the new office opened, then in Georgetown. ARA, we absolutely love you!
