I hadn't walked my dogs in months due to the pain. It's been 2-3 weeks since my first visit to Dr. McReynold's and in those weeks I have gotten my business back up and running as well as my household and my life. I have an occasional day here and there where I have some pain, but it's much less severe and it does go away after a while. I have also lost 2 lbs after being hopelessly stuck for years. The campus is smaller than other hospitals I've been to, which helped me arrive on time, and avoid getting confused about which building my appointment was in. With multiple heart doctors on my team, I can mix up who's doing what when and where. This hospital was manageable. I was in a shared room, (my first) but I had the window side, with a curtain drawn between the two bed areas creating adequate privacy. The single TV on the wall seemed to be more on my side, but there wasn't time to even turn it on. The very attentive nursing staff were busy asking me all the standard questions, double checking my medication list and fasting requirements, what I was there for, etc... all very professional, pleasant and efficient. When they had me ready for the cardiologist, I was wheeled into the surgical area and a new group of faces introduced themselves, went over a few more questions, and then the anesthesiologist said hello and I next thing I said was goodnight! Afterwards, back in my room, I was able to order lunch and had the salmon with veggies and chocolate pudding. The entree was so good! The BF (and my ride home) had arrived just in time to feed it to me as my right arm was in a contraption from the procedure. Discharge came with lots of aftercare notes, phone surveys and a handwritten thank you note signed by all the nurses. Nice touch!

I was stressing about the bills but their super nice billing lady helped us out. -Open 24/7. I looked at other options that were technically deemed in-network for my insurance plan and some were closed on Sunday. One of our visits was on Easter too. Why even bother with another ER when this place will bill in-network anyway? -Amazing nurses and doctors. Everyone is really nice and patient and takes great care of you. We've been there 3 times since November. Twice for my little guy (he was 1 during our first visit). Nurses and doctors were so nice and patient with him (and he definitely screamed a lot). -It's never crowded or full of sickly people. She cares about her patients. She shows us the test results and images and explains the results in terms we can understand. She explains what she believes is going on, then explains the treatment she prescribes and why she is prescribing it. The office staff and other medical staff are friendly and helpful, as well. My wife has a lung disease that first manifested itself several years ago while we were living in the Austin area. We saw many specialists trying to find a treatment, many of whom would disregard my wife's descriptions of some of her symptoms since they didn't fit their textbook descriptions of her disease. Then we found Dr. Fields. Dr. Fields took the time to listen to my wife's descriptions of her symptoms. She did not disregard them and even consulted an expert in the disease who confirmed that what my wife was experiencing could very well be symptoms of the disease. Since being treated by Dr. Fields, my wife's condition greatly improved and the disease has shown no further progression. When my wife has experiences occasional breathing problems, Dr. Fields checks to make sure that the problem is not related to the disease. Then she finds out what is causing the problem (e.g., asthma, allergies, etc.) and treats and solves the problem. After we moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, we struggled with the decision to seek another pulmonologist closer to home. But we both agreed that we wanted, very much, to stick with Dr. Fields even if it means driving for three hours to see her. We trust her that much. And should another flare up of the disease occur, we will still make the trip to see Dr. Fields for treatment, even if it means we have to make several trips or do whatever needs to be done to get the help she needs.
