The online app updates are fantastic and they update you at least twice a week. They told me 20 days for moderate repairs but compete with everything in 15 days and the work was top notch. Through a series of unfortunate events, I found myself requiring the services of ARA CARSTAR of Everett following a hit and run. While I've never heard of them prior, they were recommended by my auto insurance and part of their network I believe. So an appointment was made and a drop off scheduled. Front desk staff was professional, knowledgeable and able to answer my questions regarding the work, insurance, etc. They gave me a rough turn around time but it was with a grain of salt until they were able to get a good damage assessment. They said they would keep me posted and contact me with any questions. From drop off to pick up my truck was in the shop for about a week and half. Through out that time they texted me with updates and calls with questions on parts decisions. I did not have to contact them once. Their communication was excellent. Once work was completed (a day or two early from the original completion date they gave me BTW), I was able to go in, pay the deductible and get out with no issues. While I did a once over of my truck during pick up, checking form and function, I wasn't able to get a really good look until the next day and I got to tell you, it's as if the collision didn't even happen (though it's still ingrained in my head). Perfect, considering they had to replace several parts. But the paint job was spot on and everything worked. They even gave her a good cleaning as I noticed the inside was vacuumed and outside was shiny and beading the water. The only issue, and this was in no way the fault of the shop, was a battery error on the dash that was not present before drop off. This mostly due to not being driven for a week and a half not, bad quality OEM batteries and these damn new vehicles with too many computers and electronics, electrical parasites, especially if it's not driving regularly. Anyways keep that in mind when leaving your vehicle for long periods of time and inactivity. In my case when the battery charger didn't fix the error, the dealership did by replacing the batteries, under warranty so it was all good. The week or so after I picked up my truck I've had multiple follow ups from the shop via text and email with assurances that if there were any issues or problems with the work to bring it in so they could make it right as well as wanting to know my experience and satisfaction. All the work is under warranty. So bottom line, my experience was great. They did excellent work, they have great communication and they are professional and knowledgeable. I would definitely use them again, but to be honest I hope I don't ever have to. read more

They have had my car since 2/7. Sometimes they say they have a lot of work and can't get to the car and then other times they say that they are waiting for a part. I called yesterday they said they would call me back and no one called me. I called again today on 03/05 I was told again they are waiting for a part. No estimate on when the car might be ready no information that would help me. I asked if I could take the car and return it but aparently the car is pulled apart. If I could leave zero stars I would. Took my car in on a Friday to get estimate to repair rear driver side door, the estimate process was good I was told it would take 5 days and I could drop it off on Saturday, but they were only open 2 hours. Do I went Saturday during the 2 hour window and no one was there,this was the start of my issues. I will say they did come to my house on Monday and picked up my car to make up for it. After a week I called to check on my car, and was told it was still being worked on and they would call me with updates I didn't need to call them. After 4 more days I called again and was told car was in paint. Again I was told not to call for updates they would call me. So after 4 more work days and no calls wIth updates I called again, this time I was told they were waiting for insurance to get back to them about an issue with door handle. Why wasn't I updated that there was an issue with door handle so I could contact insurance, just a complete lack of communication from them. After talking to my insurance rep he said he talked to them and is waiting for them to send in an amendment to there estimate and he would approve it. I called CARSTAR back next day and explained they had no idea what I was talking about. It felt like I had to do there job by contacting my rep and having him call them and get it taken care of. Finally they did the proper estimate amendment and got approval right away, and had to take my car to a dealer to get handle to work properly. My estimated time of 5 days took over a month, I will never return here and u should go anywhere else instead of here u will be much hsppier read more

I chose this body shop, which was out of my insurance company's network, for one reason - their proximity to the VW dealership. When I initially called to schedule an estimate I was told they could order the parts while they were working out the paperwork with insurance company so that the parts were already at the shop and ready to go once everything was signed off. Since they were getting the parts from the dealership, which is literally across a parking lot, it would be a quick fix. SIXTEEN DAYS LATER my car was finally ready to be picked up. They didn't call me to tell me, I had to call them. I'll give them that this was over the 7/4 holiday but, really, that was just a one day holiday. I don't understand why it took so long outside of that. But that's not even the irritating part. After I picked up my car I realized two things: the side mirror they were supposed to have replaced/fixed was replaced with a faulty mirror. Don't they do any type of quality check before they give it back to the owner? But that's not even the irritating part either: THEY BROKE MY OTHER SIDE MIRROR. It went in to the shop fine but came back broken. They were polite about getting it fixed but no one, NO ONE, ever apologized. Never. They broke my car! I kept waiting for someone to say they were sorry for breaking the mirror, waiting for someone to apologize for the inconvenience of making me come back again, waiting for someone to apologize for not noticing the damage in the first place. I live and work in Seattle, but chose this auto shop through my insurance (Geico Express location) because they could get me in the soonest. I now regret making that decision. Before I go into the meat of this review I just want to say that the front desk ladies were really great; friendly and extremely helpful, but the work I got done here was shit! I came in to get my trunk door replaced (rear ended) and my car was fixed in just about a week. When I picked up my car everything seemed great. They said they installed a brand new door, replaced my spare tire (I have a CR V) and detailed the interior. Everything seemed great until I noticed that my trunk light kept intermittently turning on, meaning the door was not properly installed. I had to drive back all the way to the shop (25-30 min drive) and they fixed it in under 1 hour. I spoke with the manager, he apologized, I felt better and left with my car fixed. I was mad about the inconvenience but I let it slide. A week later I get a call from the shop saying that my new spare tire needs to be mounted on my car. So you mean to tell me that this whole time you didn't notice the tire hadn't been replaced yet?! The fuck! You don't tell someone their car is ready to be picked up if it really isn't. Who is proofing the "finished" work in these cars?! I don't know but here I am, inconvenienced yet AGAIN by having to bring my car back to this shop a 3rd time. I get to the shop at 8am and they tell me my car should be ready by 12 noon. Oh hell no! (I was told over the phone that my tire wouldn't take more than 30 mins to be mounted) They offer to put me in a rental car but that still is a huge inconvenience for me because I'm under the impression that this is going to be a quick fix. So I'm frustrated as hell, ask to speak to a manager, he apologizes and guarantees to me that they are going to get the tire fixed NOW and I will NOT have to wait until 12. You can imagine my crazy frustration at this point... I understand that mistakes are normal and that's why I let it slide with the trunk issue, but to mess up a second time I feel is a process issue. They need to be double, maybe triple checking their work to ensure that bullshit like this does not occur for their customers! read more

Excellent! I was rear ended in November of last year, and after going back and forth with the woman who hit me, we agreed to settle out of pocket. I have never been in an accident before, so I was new to the entire process. Every person I spoke with at CarStar during this nearly 5 month ordeal was so helpful, kind, and informative. I would like to give specific recognition to Sophia, the woman who works at the front desk, for being above-and-beyond kind and providing outstanding customer service! Not only was the customer service great, but I was finally able to pick up my car today, and the repairs look awesome. Customer Service Breakdown If you don't want to read about my entire experience just know this: This Company does not make customer service a priority. The workmanship is good, but there are a lot of good body shops in the area. One little issue and they went from nice and friendly to biting my head off and charging more money. I would steer clear of them especially if you are paying out of pocket. I came in and asked for a quote to get my door and mirror fixed. This was to be an out of pocket repair. I was given a quote. I had received 2 other quotes, one higher from Gerber and one lower from a mom and pop place. After researching Carstar I decided to go with their quote. Everything seemed great, the people were friendly and they kept me up to date on what was happening. They called me one time to say there was a part needed that was unforeseen, so I agreed to pay a little more for this. They let me know my repair was finished. The problems started when I went to pick up my truck. I noticed right away they had not fixed the mirror. I went in to inform them of this, and the lady working tells me not to worry, I was not charged for this. This only made me more upset as I was told it was included, and it was listed as a line item on my quote. I was informed the person I needed to speak with was not available until Monday. On Monday I received a call from the gentleman I had been working with from the start. I was told that he coded it wrong on the quote and now I was going to have to pay more for the repair. When I explained that we spoke about this from the beginning and that I felt I should not be charged, he became very irate and told me they do not do things for free. I'm not asking for anything for free, I am paying almost $2000 for this repair and I was told this would be done. Had they quoted me the price they are now trying to charge me, I would have never gone with them in the first place. I was then told he did not remember giving me the quote but there was no way he could be wrong. Really? If you can't remember then how can you be so sure? I remember exactly how the conversation went. The mirror was the first thing we talked about. After being yelled at and berated by this gentleman I asked to speak to his manager. His manager got on the phone and took the same stance he did with the same horrible attitude. When I could tell I was getting nowhere with him I reluctantly agreed to pay for the mirror. When I asked if they even cared they had an unhappy customer the answer was no. Wednesday came around and I got a call from them. The normal customer service call I had previously been receiving (I believe this is company policy) had stopped. I figured they were calling to tell me my truck was finished but no, they wanted even more money. Unbelievable! After everything we had gone through to agree on a price they are coming at me again for more money? I argued for a second, was yelled at once again, and backed down. I just wanted it to be over and to get my truck back. At this point it took twice as long as it originally should have and I really needed to get my truck back. I went to pick up my truck and got to meet the manager. His poor attitude continued, as he was unapologetic and seemed annoyed I wanted to inspect the work before paying for it. When I got the invoice I looked at the part they had charged me extra for early in the process. When they called me I was at work and didn't have time to really process what they were talking about. I thought they were talking about some interior part that was unforeseeable. Nope, it was the outer door handle, which was obviously broken beyond repair and should also have been included in the original quote. Once again UNBELIEVABLE!!! They got me twice. I just missed it the first time. I really see only 2 possible scenarios for this: 1, the gentleman who did my quote in the first place just didn't know what he was doing. Either he is new or just incompetent. Either way this should not result in the customer paying more. If you make a mistake own up to it. 2, this was done on purpose as a way to sucker me into going with them with the intent to up the bill later. I would hope this isn't the case but it is probably really easy to get away with when most of their customers are billed through insurance. Insurance agents aren't paying as close attention, and the customers never know. The one saving grace is that the repair work looks good and appears to be done correct. However, for the money I spent I would have gone with a larger company like Gerber who actually cares about customer service. There are 4-5 auto body shops within a couple miles of this one. I'd recommend taking your business elsewhere. read more

Repairs to my truck went very well, minus a few details that they tried to fix when I picked it up, so kudos. I do not have a complaint with the bodyshop and am bringing my daughter's car there next week. However, I do have a complaint with their association with Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Geico for procuring rental vehicles while having the repair made. A short time ago, I submitted a review for Enterprise Rent-A-Car and explained the situation. Their representatives claim their refusal to work with me at the behest of ARA Carstar, yet the Enterprise Rent-A-Car rep that does a lot of work at the ARA Carstar help to set up the rental and assured me that it would be on site for pickup. After the fact, while working through the reservation process and confirming no less than 3 times that this was a workable solution, when calling back with the requested information, I was denied and will not be able to pickup the car at ARA Carstar and have to get a ride to the rental facility. I'm very unhappy about this, more so about being lied to by several people during the interaction, knowingly or not. But who is to blame? Is it the ARA Carstar that is causing my problems, or is it Enterprise Rent-A-Car, or could it be Geico? All I know is, Geico has been very helpful, ARA Carstar did a decent job on my last vehicle and Enterprise Rent-A-Car provided me information that misled me and then blamed it on the other two. One star deleted from my review based on affiliation and lack of workability...who knows, Enterprise Rent-A-Car may be telling me the truth. ARA Carstar repaired my car from an accident. They removed my front bumper to do the repairs. While parking I slid over a parking bumper and backed up and y bumper on the right side fell off. ARA Carstar said I damaged my bumper and broke the hinge and they won't fix it. I have never seen a bumper just fall off going over a parking bumper. What can I do? read more

I will start by saying Summer is amazing and this is not a review on her. She was honest and forthcoming the entire time. I have been a Geico customer for over 6 years and this was my first claim. I bought a brand new car in 2017, 4 months later I was rear ended and had another body shop fix it. One year later, I was rear ended again! (both times were not my fault, I was at a complete stop and the other party took 100% liability). The insurance company that was supposed to take care of me was taking forever so for the first time in my Geico history I filed a claim. I took the car to their recommended dealer ARA Carstar. They were able to get me in right away and seemed amazing. I got an amazing rental. They finished my car ahead of time. They did not tell me that I had to pick my car up within 24 hours otherwise I would have to pay. Yet they only give you about 6 hours notice and their hours are 8am to 5pm. I would have to take time off work to get my car back within 24 hours of text notice. When I received my car, Summer told me that the bumper did not match the rest of my car and it was a problem with the previous body shop (thanks Summer for being honest). I called Geico and they tried to push the problem off, yet my car was matching when I brought it in and was not matching when I left. Finally I was able to get another appointment to get my car repainted the correct color. It STILL does not match. I also received a text at 8:51am saying I need to pick my car up between 2pm and 5pm or I would be charged for my rental. That is not enough time to leave work early, luckily I was able to. When I arrived my car looked terrible. The bumper did not match the trunk, the bumper did not match the quarter panels. It looks terrible. I called Geico and they said "well I told you it would not be perfect and I offered you $150.00 for the inconvenience." Summer had told me that if she could paint the bumper and quarter panels she could make it look great but Geico would "absolutely not allow her to do so". I finally said this was absolutely unacceptable and Geico said their manager will get in contact with me. Overall, I am extremely disappointed in the customer service between my OWN insurance company and the auto body shop. They clearly wanted to treat me well and Geico would not let me. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. Insurance companies will force them to cut every corner possible, even if they are supposed to be on "your" side. read more

State Farm sent me here to repair the damage thier client did to my car. The staff was really friendly but when I picked my car up and got home I noticed my antenna was missing so I went back immediately and the employee found it in my back seat installed it and was on my way. When I got home I looked over the work done and there was a layer of dust on the door jamb, seats and carpet from the repair. Also the trunk carpet had dusty shoe prints all over it as if it was sitting on the shop floor being walked on. I spent a considerable amount of time vacuuming and wiping dust up. Carstar text me a survey and I filled it all out. When I submitted it I got a failed link message....I am doubtful I will ever use this shop again. read more

Over a month ago, I made an appointment to get an estimate for repair. My appointment was for 4:45 on a Monday. I was unable to make that appointment (health care worker- surgery went long that day). I went the next day at the same time and was addressed- not greeted - by one of the rudest people I've encountered in a while. She informed me that they close at five so there was "no way" I would get an estimate that close to the end of their day. I said fine (even though this was the same appointment time I previously had) and a guy came out and took pictures of my car. He seemed irritated to be doing this within 15 minutes of closing and said "someone"would call me the next day. That was a month ago. Save yourself the hassle and go to Carstar in Edmonds. They do excellent work and they're friendly and professional. Even though the Everett location is close to where I work, I will never go back there again. "Hidden Gem" Recently, I had a minor fender bender and so I wasn't sure what to expect (i.e. time without car, insurance coverage, etc). I don't find myself in need of a body shop very often. Plus, I never know what a "good job" looks like. So, I asked a friend (who is a gear head) where he took his car too (accident during our week of freezing temps) and he said to come here. I had a great experience. Everything went smoothly and without worry. The front desk was receptive and thoroughly answered all of my questions, they met their estimated time for completion and even the painter, Mike, explained to me what an appropriate painting technique is for these types of repairs. "The best experience EVER!" Thanks to someone who cut into the roof of my Mustang convertible, I needed to get it repaired. I had no idea where to go, who was a reputable repair vendor, or what to even expect. I was referred to Carstar, and they took care of me. From the moment I arrived, they treated me like I was their only customer. Oria (sp?) was very patient with me, professional, courteous, and friendly. Not only was he thorough and informative, but he found damage sustained as part of the vandalism, to my dashboard that I hadn't even noticed (talk about going the extra mile to make certain everything was repaired!). Carstar was very communicative with the plan for my repair, and always followed through with routine check-ins throughout the process. The new roof looks amazing and is perfect, the dashboard fix was done so well, I can't event tell where the original damage was! They detailed my car, tested my roof, and made sure I was good to go. I recently had a claim on my vehicle through Safeco. I chose Carstar as the repair shop. I do not regret having them work on my car. I do regret however having insurance through Safeco. They damaged my car more than it initially was. With that being said the people at Carstar were very professional and updated me on the status of my repairs frequently. They also did all they could trying to save me money out of pocket. I had my car out for almost a week when another problem occurred which left me stuck in a intersection. I was referred to ARA from Pignataro Volkswagen for a problem I was having with my door. Drove direct from Pignataro to ARA without an appointment. From the moment I walked in, any preconceived negative notion I had of an auto body shop was smashed. Was greeted warmly by the reception staff and offered a beverage. The shop was so clean and was warm and inviting. The store manager came out quickly and determined they should be able to fix it and asked for me to come back a little later the same day. Came back in and greeted with the same friendliness. They quickly took my keys and had a tech pull my car in. After about 20-30 min wait the work was done and my car was ready to go. When I asked how much I owed for the work I about fell over. They told me ZERO! What auto shop ever charges $0.00 for labor?!? Many of my friends and family have worked with their team and have always felt that their prices were competitive and fair, service was exemplary and their follow up on point. They have proven capable too in expedited work. My mother in law once needed a door and quarter panel replaced before a lease return only five days away. They got the job done in time and the dealership couldn't tell that the vehicle had been in a wreck. They do not cut corners and are strategically thoughtful in ensuring only work is done that is necessary. I left my 2003 Lexus GX 470 after my wife got into car crash. First what I have noticed when I got back to pick up my car that the fog light was not attached to the bumper. Two days later my wife couldn't start a car and I had to go from Everett to Kent to help her. The reason the car wasn't starting is that the mechanics at the repair shop didn't tight the battery. I spent 2 hours of driving just to fix a 1 minute problem. I will not recommend this service center to anyone. read more

Fantastic customer service and my car was repaired perfectly. The only reason for 4 stars instead of five is because the insurance rep for this company was not available at the time of drop off. Apparently she had some other appointment to be at. So the breakdown is that I didn't get an appropriate assessment upon drop off.
