I've been to many workshops here and always end up with a beautiful creation! The classes are a bit pricy but always fun and the staff is helpful throughout the class. The hardest part is picking your colors! Recently I came here for a candle making and wood workshop. Because the class was large, the staff did most of the work. I would have preferred to do more, but understand in the interest of time that's not always possible. They also have a little shops when you walk in where you can buy pre-made items or local Knick knacks. read more

Joanna the owner is pretty awesome and helpful for our 18" Standard Lazy Susan / Sign Round Project, Design Name: Laurel Name Charcuter. We received a gift card from our family as a housewarming present. We forgot to use and when we remembered- the location we were designed for was already closed permanently. Joanna along with Maureen (owner of corporate business) transferred the gift card to this Westfield NJ location- and we were able to have them make it and mail it over to us. Joanna and Maureen helped us maneuver a difficult buying process. But overall well worth it considering how great these look. We love them. Thank you two and AR Westfield!!! read more

This company is grimy; my friend bought gift certificates a couple years ago, there was no expiration date, so she called and they said she could use them up this year. She asked me if I wanted to do a pasta and wine making class at AR workshop that was being held on 3-14-24, it was $139 per person. She used her gift cards valuing $100 and then the $139 plus $39 was paid on credit card, which was the remainder of her balance and mine. However, the company cancelled the class with no rescheduled date in the future. They simply said it will be sometime in the Fall, however, my friend emailed them back telling them that we don't live nearby and it's super inconvenient and discouraging to have classes cancelled and they just took our money essentially. They apologized, but said there were no refunds but gave the money back in MORE gift certificates...which have to be used before end of the year. This isn't the first time they have cancelled classes. So now my friend and I have $278 in credits to be used at this awful company, rather than just getting our money back. There are very few classes being held there, when you look at the shop schedule nor anything of interest to the both of us. We just wanted to do the pasta and wine pairing night, not get more credits to a place that just pockets the money. Their store hours are limited and variable, and frankly, my friend and I don't want to buy $278 worth of items from their store. I would never recommend this company to anyone. We just want our money back and not in the form a credit. read more

I went there with my cousins wood signs painting workshop.It was Amazing. The saffs were super nice. Emma , the person who was working with us, was delightful. Our painting came out great. The only thing I didnt like was the fact that they didn't have parking. It's not really their faults. That's how it is in Westfield. Even though they don't have parking, you can try to find parking at the train station and walk then walk to the shop. It's not a long walk. I will definitely go back read more

Let me preface this with the disclaimer that I should not be let anywhere near the vicinity of a nail gun or workworking tools. I'm that clumsy and uncoordinated. But I came away from AR Workshop having had a lovely evening with my neighborhood moms' group AND a beautiful wooden Christmas box personalized for my family that we can enjoy for years to come. I picked my craft in advance and was guided along step by step by the lovely staff in house that night - and also my friends ;) Were it not for the wine clouding my judgement (and contributing to my shaky hand), my project would have been absolutely perfect! The small imperfections are imperceptible to anyone but me, but also remind me that I made this myself! :) We brought in our sushi from Akai and some bottles of wine. This made for a relaxing night out and bonus - got some home decor out of the evening! read more

I've only been here once for a hand lettering workshop, but they usually do workshops more related to arts and crafts. For example, they have a wood sign painting workshop. For this reason, I'm not sure if my review will be helpful to others interested in workshops other than the hand lettering one, which doesn't appear to happen often anyways. I'd like to start by saying that if I were to rate my experience here accounting for my personal preferences, I would give my experience 3 out of 5 stars. This is mostly because I didn't feel like I learned anything new in the class. I also felt like it was overpriced for what I received, mostly because I already owned most of the materials. With that being said, I definitely would have enjoyed more this class if I were completely new to hand lettering or even a complete beginner who wants to create art. The instructor, Lisa, was very enthusiastic and motivating. She also explained the basics of hand lettering thoroughly, made sure everyone was able to follow along, and encouraged us to ask questions. I can imagine coming back here if they offered a more advanced hand lettering workshop or if I were to go to a different workshop, like the ones to make wood signs, with friends. At the moment, I can't see myself coming back here other than being in those two scenarios. However, I would like to come back because I liked the environment and the instructors. read more
