The place is spotless. But we don't care about that, right? My wife and I both got the 2 piece cod and we shared a basket of popcorn shrimp. We ate every bite of both. I washed it down with an ice cold beer. My toddler even got in on the action and ate some of our fish and chips. I'm not a big tarter sauce guy, but this one really complimented the cod and malt vinegar. To top it off, the service was fantastic. No complaints. This is on my list of places to revisit when I return to Montréal

The fries, er chips were a generous portion and not too greasy. The fish was also well cooked, but they were a little too greasy... It was served with slaw and mushy peas. I would have liked to add a cup of chowder, but alas, no joy... My server was great, no issues whatsoever. She made some suggestions and inquired about my travel plans and offered some tips on what see and what to avoid... Overall 4.5/5 The Guinness was also bomb!!

We couldn't get into another place for dinner for Sunday evening meal. We found Big T'z House of…read moreSoul. We entered in and got greeted by Big T and was offered a pitcher of Sweet Tea or Lemonade -on the house for eat-in service. That was a great pitcher of sweet tea. Not overly sweet. Just right. We each ordered a chicken meal. Two people ordered the barbecue and one ordered fried chicken and another was sticky chicken. Each dinner comes with 2 sides. Macaroni and cheese, collard greens, beans, rice and yams were ordered. Everything was made fresh and hit off the stove. It was really a feeling of visiting family and eating a Sunday family dinner. Big T was so warm and welcoming. The plate was overflowing and I took home a lot for leftovers -enough to serve another 2 meals. Each plate had 3 pieces of chicken. The sticky chicken is a sweet and soy-like Teriyaki style. If you like sweet and salty, this is the one. The chicken was piping hot and crispy. The collard greens were tender but not mushy. The beans were not overly sweet and had very nice spice notes to it. I loved the experience and the place was so homey. I will return for sure. Not to be missed experience.

The Sticky Chicken had a wonderful blend of sweet and savory, and the Jerk Chicken boasts a good level of heat that mixes well when you eat it with some of the Sticky Chicken. Cool jazzy decor, and the owner is super nice. Treats you like you're family. Good stuff!

Bar George is a stunning contemporary British restaurant located in Montreal's historic Le Mount…read moreStephen. While the restaurant is highly celebrated and located within a Michelin-recognized hotel building, it does not hold a Michelin star of its own. But it is extremely classy. We decided to do lunch instead of dinner and it was a little more our speed, but if very, very attentive waitstaff is not your thing and $200 for lunch I'd skip this spot. We went because it had reviews for amazing beef Wellington and my husband hadn't had any in decades. And we were on vacation so let's go! The food was beautifully plated and service was impeccable inside of an amazingly decorated dining room that looked like a library in a mansion. The meals themselves weren't obscenely expensive but add a glass a wine, bread (it was not included) and coffee and it put us close to $200. But it was a great experience and I had never had beef Wellington - it was melt in your mouth good. Might go again next time we come up from CT.

But before even checking in, we had to walk through Bar George ~ and instantly knew we wanted to eat there. We were lucky enough to grab a last-minute reservation, and Julien took a good care of us throughout the evening. His recommendation of the Beef Wellington was spot on (it's already one of our favorite dishes), but this was hands down the best we've ever had. I ordered the lobster risotto, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. My son had the 10 oz striploin steak with homemade fries (chips), and it was absolutely delicious. I also loved the Canadian touch of coarse salt on the steak, plus the option to choose between Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. Julien also mentioned their pastry chef placed second in a NY competition, and the desserts absolutely lived up to that reputation. We tried the pineapple and coconut pavlova and the "lick me hazelnut" ~ both beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. We also ordered iced coffee and a latte, and noticed something interesting: this was the second place where we found Canadian coffee to be smooth and mild ~ such a nice change from the often bitter, over-roasted American coffee. Yes, dinner was a bit steep ($300+), but it was worth every penny. Between the rich history, stunning design, outstanding service, and unique cuisine, I would highly recommend Bar George. I would absolutely love to come back!!

I say that this place is a must if you are in the area. The drinks were refreshing. We got the onion soup and the fried pickles. The onion soup was one of the best I've ever had anywhere. Definitely would come back to have a bigger bite and maybe for dinner at night time . Also prices are very reasonable

I was angry and tried to bring it to the attention of the waitress but she didn't seem to understand how I can be bothered by noise. I guess being a pub yet also a full restaurant, makes it OK to have YET ANOTHER place that promotes or is indifferent to "NOISE CULTURE" . ONE CANNOT EVEN EAT WITHOUT HAVING THEIR BRAINS AND EARS BLOWN OFF BY IDIOTS YELLING and laughing at the top of their lungs. We left and will never return again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The food is reasonably good, but since people come to ANY restaurant to talk, it is sickening that some customers and the staff don't seem to give a damn about HOW loud they scream, laugh and talk, and whether or not this excessive noise bothers some clients. This is a typical trash "culture" example of how the morons in pubs and other restaurants perceive "having fun"! The more noise the better.
