Nick Nigosian's legacy is celebrated through the annual Nick Nigosian Memorial Car Show, which benefits local charities and honors his passion for cars and agriculture. Nick owned a beautiful 1926 Buick, which is featured as a significant part of the car show's 2026 event, marking the car's 100th anniversary! The car show, organized by the Palm Springs Cruisin' Association and Nicks son,Michael Negosian,draws large crowds and supports local causes-a testament to Nick's impact on the community. The event benefits organizations like the Friends of the Date Festival, which supports 4H, FFA, and agriculture students showing animals at the Riverside County Fair and National Date Festival. What I have experienced at other public aquatic centers is that their staff is usually very rude and arrogant, especially the lifeguards, which is not the case at this facility. The staff was great and prices are very reasonable ($3 for kids/$4 for adults). The lockers were very clean and there was plenty of parking. Given that we have only been there a couple of times, I have experienced enough to be able to rate this place as 5 stars, especially considering that our kids really enjoy swimming here during public swimming sessions. From my understanding, they have swimming classes and other swimming events here, but we have not yet experienced them. Overall, a great place to beat the heat!

There have been a few changes in the past few years here. The dog park is closed but it is my understanding that the city will be reopening it again over by the gazebo area. The skatepark is closed and the covered courts area has been expanded to where the skatepark used to be. Yucaipa's main skatepark is over next to the high school off of 13th street. The new covered area is now home to 4 permanent pickleball courts which makes for an amazing space for youth who may not have their own nets yet and for anyone to come play in the shade. Yucaipa Pickleball Club reserves these courts for club play through the city. Club hours are generally in the mornings and the 4th Saturday of the month.
