The sound bath with Ramona was other worldly, it was held in a Cave made from an ancient rock structure, it was very powerful. It feel like a prehistoric wonderland. I was able to camp in my truck tent, but there are super cool tents and structures you can rent. I highly recommend to going here to detach from the normal fast paced life, its an enchanting experience.

Elizabeth took us into a remote part of the park that we could have never navigated on our own to a perfect spot for yoga just as the sun was setting. From there she led us on an off-trail hike under the stars that was just spectacular (don't forget your headlamp!). No way we could have ever had this experience on our own. Very relaxing property and owners and is a good place to detox, mediate and take in good waters. Very good water quality from their own property source with high PH and magnesium. I always feel refreshed after a few hours in the water. Cool rooms, some with little kitchens and a little breakfast area is set up in the spa in the mornings with coffee and teas. The shower, pools and even drinking water are from the source so one to two days stay with clean eating will clean you out. I recommend for relaxing and getting some quiet time. The crowd is a now a bit too much "LA" and "OC" but most are cool. Good legal city run dispensaries near by and some cool restaurants to eat at. Great view of Mt. San Jacinto form the side and nice pool outside for quiet time.

We loved the nature hike we had "Jelly" (a couple of our groups got rained out-obviously to no fault of the camp), we enjoyed archery, paint ball sling shots with "Stitch", painting wood necklaces, drama circle, and an amphitheater with breathtaking views of the the sunset. We loved our hike to the lake for canoeing. I too thought the pool was chilly but it was clean! Their swim rules seemed to be really intense to me. "No jumping off the edge of the pool" hmmm ok. In my opinion overly cautious. However, the Rock wall was a blast, equipment was in good condition. Hatchet throwing was hard, but fun. I wish the hatchets were sharp enough to grab the wood. It was rare anyone stuck one into the log rounds. Some combination of wood being too hard or axes not balanced correctly made that activity a struggle. We enjoyed trying. The team building activities were thoughtful and stretched our girls as individuals and forced team unity. Maybe my favorite part of all of camp. They lost a star for food quality and portions but the staff was always in good spirit. I also wish our group had the entire cafeteria to ourselves as we often were low on space at tables and often went outside as our designated seating was full. But the food was served on time and they got a lot of people food in timely fashion. They were organized. Our cabins were dry when it rained and i felt safe from the elements and wildlife that can live nearby. Some mattresses were thicker than others. I was comfortable enough for a week of camping. The plumbing struggled at times but not sure that was the camps fault or the 85 GIRLS who MAY have not disposed of things properly. Lol Overall I think with some retraining on camp cooking and a minor tweak here and there this would be a 5 star camp. The location was beautiful. The staff was friendly. The activities were super fun!

Let me start off by saying-- Our daughter has learned and developed more at FIGS in ONE year than 4 years at any other club thanks to Juanchi and Caitlyn! FIGS is NOT about "how many people can I pack into my club and take club fees and move on." They are very family oriented and care about the players. Not only do they take the time to get to know the girls but the parents as well. I love that they actually care about the players improving their volleyball skills and working with the players to meet their goals- not just letting them make the same mistakes over and over. The facility has everything a player needs to be a great volleyball player including top elite coaching and an amazing culture. It seemed like finding a club that didn't have drama or a toxic culture wouldn't be possible until we met Juanchi. FIGS was highly recommended to us by friends for a while, and I'm glad we finally found our volleyball home. I could go on forever about all the great things this club has to offer. You couldn't find a better club than FIGS and their coaches. They are a very honest and straightforward volleyball club. There's no gimmicks or distractions. You're there to work with the best, be the best and play against the best! I attended the USA Yoga Competition Training this past weekend June 25-27 with dedicated competitors from all age ranges from 14 yrs. young to 50 yrs. +, yoga studio owners, & our friends. Attendees traveled from Massachusetts, New York, Washington, Las Vegas, LA & Palm Desert, CA. It was a life changing experience to be in the same space with these amazing yogis and yoginis to work on & refine our competition routines in preparation for USA Yoga Nationals in Iowa at the end of July. We shared yoga classes & drills together, are meals together, & most especially, learned valuable techniques & teachings from the best yoga teachers & coaches in the world...Kim Tang & Spencer Larson!!! They have poured out so much love, energy, time, creativity, & passion into creating an energetic space for us to grow in our personal yoga practice & self-expansion. It was a loving & supportive community. Besides the large, airy wood floor yoga space/sanctuary, there is also a kitchen with all the appliances to prepare healthy meals, a stage for getting to practice our performance routines with singing bowls for Spencer's relaxing sound bath experiences, a separate building & room with bunk beds, a dining & lobby area for sharing meals indoors & outdoors amongst the oversized Josiah Trees. There are over a dozen fruit trees that were just planted & they are growing their garden. If you are considering coming to one of their events, don't hesitate, because you will find it to be well worth your time & expense. If you are considering renting the space to host your own event, they are set up to accommodate to whatever your needs are. Kim has been head coach of IYSF (The International Yoga Sports Federation) & USA Yoga. Spencer is currently the 2021 Men's USA Yoga Champion. They are phenomenal in their practice, but also the most loving & humble people. This place is a slice of heaven. From outdoor, magnificent natural beauty of the desert with trees, stars... to the indoor spaces that are loving decorated with attention to all the details. This is an idea place for any event or retreat that requires peace, serenity, joy, relaxation, nourishment, and surprising delights around every corner. Words don't do it justice and I highly recommend that you visit and see for yourself. You will find that the very best part are the hosts who are so welcoming and will literally "bend over backward" to make sure your visit is pleasant and unforgettable . Some highlights that I personally enjoyed and delighted in were an early morning having coffee on the swings. The anti-gravity lounge chairs set overlooking Wesley's pond for more sun exposure, and under the shady tree covered in flowers chatting with friends enjoying watching the fish and humming birds The "lobby", which to me is a library, with an abundance of books, and comfy couch and pillows and hearth. Everywhere are nooks of inviting spaces to have cozy conversations or merely relax. I did avail myself of the cold water plunge, the sauna, and of course the main attraction...the yoga room itself with the sound bath stage, and so many "toys"/equipment/props. Everywhere was excellent and no details were overlooked. Even the beds were comfy! And the dorm set-up made it feel private and cozy with everything contained in your own space. I had a great experience at the Yucca Shala this weekend. I have been recovering from medical treatments and was able to let go of a lot of trauma in a very short time with the powerful Sound baths and Yin yoga practice offered by Kim Tang and Spencer Larson. Such informed treatments were a bonus to the incredible space they they have created and hold. I recommend this Shala to anyone who is looking for a weekend get away or a place to gather your community. The vibration of this sacred area adds to the energetic power of the offerings at this Shala. The accommodations are cool, comfortable, clean and quiet with everything you may need. The property is large with many areas for hanging out and enjoying the views of the mountains and huge, rad Joshua Trees. The yoga space is beautiful with a stage and vaulted ceilings that really brings the sound baths right into your body and the yoga instruction is world class. The town is cool and there are powerful places to recreate near by. The potato chip rock and the quartz hill was a great side activity. I live in Orange County and it was a easy drive for a weekend getaway. I am looking forward to spending more time at this well thought out retreat center. A perfect retreat! I stayed at the Yucca Shala in November 2021 to prepare for and compete in the IYSF World Yoga Chamionships. The Shala is accessible via a beautiful, short drive up into the high desert from the Palms Springs airport. The sanctuary/yoga studio was HOT (105F) when it needed to be and outfitted with every item a yogi dreams of, including a wall of windows through which one can appreciate the sun rising beyond mountains and a majestic Joshua tree that graces the courtyard. This sanctuary/yoga studio holds special energy that is calming and inspiring. One can appreciate that for years people came to this very space to pray. It is a gift to be able to come here now to develop your yoga practice or to celebrate a monumental life event in this space that can be adapted for a variety of purposes, and that proves to be acoustically perfect for sound baths. I stayed in the dormitory and can report that I slept soundly on a very comfortable bed in private accommodations. If you are looking for a gated, private property near Palm Springs to retreat into so that you can work on your yoga practice, on yourself, or to celebrate an event with the people who matter most to you, I suggest you consider this Shala. read more

This is an amazing event center, located in one of the most beautiful places I've had the pleasure to visit. I've been event planning for over 20 years, and this location has all the wow factors. With highly experienced hosts, this venue is perfect for a yoga retreat, a wedding, or any event looking for a departure from the "regular". The giant Joshua Tree at the entrance - along with its friends all over the sprawling property - give a welcoming feel for the cozy lobby, large sanctuary space with perfect stage, and updated sleeping accommodations. You are even greeted by hummingbirds at the beautiful flower beds. As a private getaway in the heart of this historic town it has spacious parking, is close to eclectic dining and numerous wilderness attractions. This Yoga space combined with the teachings from Kim and Spencer is an invaluable gift to give to yourself...please say yes to yourself and spend some time at the Yucca Shalla. The dorm like setting is well equipped to keep you cool and comfortable, you can feel the care put into making it a special home away from home. There is a sweet two person dry sauna for use on site! There are beautiful outside spaces to sit and chat with friends or find a quiet spot to enjoy the blue skies, Joshua trees and evening sunsets. During our training we were treated to healthy vegetarian meals and fresh made juices after class. The cool eucalyptus towels at the end were a welcome treat. They also offer filtered water, fresh lemon and Himalayan salt to refresh after class. He held my grief with so much tenderness and gentleness. He welcomed us with open arms into his beautiful home and meditation space. He took intentional time to get to know us as people, invite us to set intentions, and truly connect with one another before the sound bath itself. It was all such a touching and sincere experience where we learned so much. The sound bath itself was absolutely incredible, deep, luscious, and profound in its sonic journey. We felt like we were taken away to a beautifully meditative space, beyond otherworldly. After the sound bath Kyle sat with us to process the experience and guide us through breathwork. He really went above and beyond and spent so much time with us, just from the love and pureness of his heart. He even pulled a tarot card for us at the end, and took the time to email us its meaning and why he pulled it for us in the first place. The Inn is super welcoming. Lydia at the front desk was kind and responsive to my changing needs (i kept adding days.) Nearly every person staying here that I met were displaced Angelenos. Morning breakfast (great selection) was a place to connect and grieve. At night, dinner in the restaurant was an escape from the news. I like sitting at the bar. I met a slew of locals who were super kind and welcoming. Cowboy. TJ. Vickie. And a host of others... They made me feel like a regular immediately. Carrie (Kari?) the bartender was top notch - attentive, talkative and enthusiastic. I met her fab parents and even shared goodbye hugs. (That's a good human!) Ashley (the manager) was equally wonderful on Sunday night. I was entertained by visiting artists each night too. Bowdie welcomed me regularly. I stayed in the Bottle Room (my fave) for three nights and Goldenbush for 2. Goldenbush is quieter and more light but the Bottle room has a tub! Much needed after a stressful getaway from LA. Plus, I left my laptop and the cleaning crew - two warm women- made sure I was notified immediately. This is my 4th stay at the Inn. The proximity to the park is perfect. I can't express enough how much this place means to me. Thanks 29 Palms. You are funky, and clean, and beautiful, and dry (my God is it dry here) and filled with nice personal touches (lunch options are deeply appreciated.) May you live long and prosper. I guess my ONLY "thumbs down" would be the center pool. I personally liked it.. it's a shallow sit down cool down tub and it works for when you just want to dive and sun bathe. Other than that, I have nothing negative to say. I really enjoyed my stay. And if you're someone who doesn't go camping or even glamping, don't stay in a yurt? When it's hot it's HOT when it's cold it's COLD.. it's not rocket science. Choose wisely if you want to enjoy your stay and really unwind. Overall, I 150% will be back and stay here in case I need a moment to reset my brain.
