Early the next morning, I had a message from Adam B. Once I got to work, I returned the call and quickly described my issue and what I believed it to be. The first available appointment wasn't until Monday (it wasn't urgent, so I wasn't worried about going the weekend). I got my timeframe. I had a couple other appointments that day, so I ended up taking the day off so I could easily be available. I immediately liked that they told me who would be arriving - AND that was who arrived. I also liked that they use a customer portal that allows you to have some security if you pay online or to review your records. Christian arrived (there was one other person with him). It took him a couple minutes to diagnose the issue he believed it to be, and it took him not a lot longer to determine that diagnosis correct. He quoted the price, I agreed, and he got to work. After finishing the work, he determined the original issue I'd believed it to be wasn't quite needing to be addressed (but will be in the near future). We discussed options, including ways I could save a bit. Christian was personable and explained things in a way I could understand. The issue was likely caused by me, but he managed to avoid using the word "idiot" at any point. The repair was done in a timely manner. The price ended up being a bit lower than quoted. I appreciated his honesty as he very easily could have pointed me toward a repair not needing done yet. It also became obvious the last person I'd used had really only done half the job. Everything has worked beautifully since Christian finished. There are likely a couple more projects I'll tackle in the near future, and I won't hesitate to return to Grateful Plumber. The housecall was $59, but that was credited toward the repair once I decided to have them do the work. Friendly employees. Good follow-through. Fair pricing. Quality work. Problem solved. This has resulted in an ongoing disruption to our home and a very frustrating experience. He advised they could come check the water softener and change my filters together the very next day! Paul the tech arrived promptly first thing the next morning. He tested my water and explained the readings to me. He also found the source of the problem with the water softener very quickly and had the part available on his truck. He repaired it, then explained in detail what the problem was. I really appreciated his thoroughness and for telling me more about my unit. As per their warranty (7 years parts and labor), the water softener repair was no charge and the filters with installation were ~$150. I continue to be very pleased with Cooper's and their staff.

The conventional water softener needs more drainage when it flushes out the system. This isn't true of this soft water system. As I compare this version of culligan to one we had installed over twenty years ago, I am impressed with the new technology and the new upgraded. The salt tank has a smaller footprint. We purchased another carbon tank that will filter out chemicals like chlorine. The system has a built in battery backup and is wifi enabled. Culligan even has its own app. I can schedule a bypass when the sprinkler system is watering the lawn. I can set the system to out of house when we are away. I can also check on water use from the app. Judd was great when he came out to talk with us. As senior citizens we opted into quarterly visits for Salt delivery. The installer did a great job The culligan store will monitor the soft water system. Give Culligan Martinsville a try if you are interested in soft water in southern indiana.
