Worst pool service company ever. Paying $115 a month for my pool to look like a pond. I know your company name is Aqua duck but I don't want actual ducks swimming in my pool. I've tried calling several times and no response, someone needs to get in touch with my ASAP. I want a refund for this month because I'm very disappointed. Worst pool company!!! Save your money and time!! They go through employees like crazy. I was with them for 2 years and have had 6 different pool people. You need repairs and you pay for them but the job never gets done. I have heard that the employees aren't paid and that's why they leave. If you get a good person showing up then they are just gone. We contacted Aquaduck to get an inspection of a pool heater on a new home purchase - and we were also in the market for pool service. On arrival, he said we were actually out of his service area, but he would do the inspection for $100 (at least he said we had this conversation which I don't remember but gave him the benefit of the doubt on given we had a lot of conversations at that time). At any rate, he said the heater worked fine. It doesn't. So now we are out $100 on a poor inspection and still had to find a pool service company. Total fail. Update and in response to Scott's comment: this was not 8 months ago. We closed on the house in Sept. and this was during our contingency. He NEVER provided a written inspection. He said the heater was functional, he did not tell us it hadn't worked for years - but that it should work fine - it has now completely failed and needs to be replaced. I contended the payment but actually DID pay in the end and have the check to prove it. read more

Whenever you deal with someone new, it's always a toss-up as to what you're going to get. I had the same pool guy previous for many years (no names mentioned), but for so long he could not keep the algae out. Also, I had a leak that he kept promising to find someone to fix. Bottomline, nice as he was, the job was not getting done, and I had algae in my pool pretty much all the time. Finally, I said "ENOUGH!" I came to the internet, searched around, and found Aquaduck. Scott, the owner, came out right away, and assessed the location and issue of the leak in minutes. Told me exactly how it needed to be fixed. I thought it was going to be thousands of dollars, but it was only several hundred. He sent the repair guy out within a few days and that got done. Then he got his pool service guy here, and he is excellent, too. FINALLY, after about 3 years of "hoping" my longtime guy was going to come around, and not having it done, I called Scott and HE MADE it happen! Now my pool is clean as a cucumber! It's been a month and a half and I'm loving it! P.S. After a couple of years, I ended up having problems and ended up canceling and going with another service. read more

If your looking for great pool service then Aqua Duck Pools is for you. We have have been using Aqua Duck for a little of over 6 years now and I have to say that their pool tech are first rate. It is nice having a pool service that takes care of all our needs with no fuss or excuses. When an issues dose comes up I text or email Scott. He takes care of the issue usually on the same day if the tech is available but definitely by the next day if it is an emergency. They clean our 50ft pool and maintain the chemistry 3 times a week. Service our filters when needed and are able to repair/replace all pool components from pumps/filters and heaters. They got it covered from A-Z. read more

Sorry to report that after a couple of years of fairly decent service, the quality of the weekly service deteriorated to the point where my pool did not even look like it had been cleaned. Had to call several times to let the company know, but was disappointed at lack of follow up to my complaints. Billing was screwed up too. Was sent past due notices more than once when in fact Aqua Duck's invoice was paid well before the due date every month. I think this occurred at the time Scott lost a couple of employees. Makes me wonder why they left. I had to fire the duck. read more

It is hard to write this review because we have had this service since we moved into this house in 2014. Usually the service was fine however a couple of incidents caused me to cancel. The company had a new filter installed for us and that went okay, however earlier this year I asked about getting a variable speed pump installed, mainly because of the rebate for doing so, and the cost savings on the electric bill. On this request, I never got a response so I went with another company to get the pump installed. Last week the technician back washed the filter because the pump would not prime, however instead of using a hose to direct the flow of the waste, it got in two flower beds, and ran over our patio area. The flower beds weren't anything special, it's just that I am left to cleanup the waste that now covers them. The technician said he did not have a hose needed to direct the flow elsewhere. I did get a quote on a part to make sure the waste went elsewhere ($ 107.00). To be honest, I'm not actually sure the owner received all of the information I discussed with the technician. read more

We just took a sample of our water into a pool store (after months of complaining to Aqua Duck...who did nothing) to be tested and our chlorine, free chlorine, and PH level are all at the highest possible levels you can test. The fact that I took the time to sign up for Yelp and actually right this review shows just how frustrated and dissapointed I am with Aquaduck pools. First off they showed up less than 50% of the time and never on their scheduled day. The days they did show it was either after sundown and not ok or they forgot my back gate code and weren't able to service the pool. Mind you I provided the code to them no less than 5 times. Over the summer I returned from a 2 week vaca to find my pool looking like a swamp just in time for 4th of July. I mean hulk green from end to end. When I reached out to Scott he replied with it's because the valley heat right now. No Scott it's because your guys never showed up, let my pump brake and didn't service the pool properly if at all. And now they are calling me asking for payment. Payment for what? They never serviced my pool. I should charge Aquaduck for all the costs I'm incurring now that my new pool guy is fixing the neglect which includes a salt level of almost zero for a salt water pool. The kicker is I didn't even have to bother firing them. They would have had to show up for me to let them go. read more

After 20+ years, our old pool service tried to shake us down--they suddenly felt they must come twice a week instead of once a week as they had been doing for many years. When we objected, they simply stopped coming (they claim to have sent us a letter but we never got one) and our pool quickly turned bright green. We had a few providers come look at it and hired Aqua Duck, who said they could fix it--then we had to go out of town for a few days. When we returned, our pool was perfectly clean, crystal clear and looked better than we can remember it ever looking before. My husband called Brian to thank him. We are excited to have Aqua Duck be our regular pool service--theiy are charging about what the other people did but do better work without the unpleasantness. read more

I am extremely happy with Scott and Aqua Duck pools. I called Scott (after finding him on Yelp) in a panic because my other pool service (Water Works) completely messed up my pool. My pool was Shrek green and it was just getting greener by the day. I called Scott on a Saturday. He came out within a 1/2 hour, did a 2 minute water test, and established that the other pool company never put any conditioner in the pool which is why the chemicals were evaporating so fast! He promised to have his guys come out to check out my equipment and to treat the water the following Monday. They came out nearly every day the first week. By mid-week (Wednesday), my pool was crystal clear. It looked like a pool in a resort! I'm amazed. I'm absolutely pleased with how fast and professional they are. Thanks Scott!! read more

I have been using AquaDuck pool services since May of 2013. I have a disney designed pool which was the biggest green swamp in woodland hills. After looking at the reviews others left I decided to call them up to see what they could do for me. Scott arranged for Brian (his manager) to give me an estimate and how to clean up the pool for good. It took a couple weeks, with hard working and utilizing many different chemicals in the market. Brian was able to conquer the problem and continue to maintain my pool. Now I have an oasis in Valley Circle Estates in woodland hills. They did not charge me to get this swamp to sparkling blue water and there monthly fee was and continues to be the lowest out of several services I checked. Albert from Aqua duck pools came by several times to figure out exactly what was wrong and because of his amazing customer service he only charged us for one service call and fixed our pool heater at a very efficient cost. In need of a pool drain and acid wash of the plaster, we called Aqua Duck. We got a great and very fair quote for this service and could not be happier with the way the pool looks. Leo and Douglas were very friendly and great to deal with when doing the draining. The next day Douglas did a fantastic job with the acid wash! I have been using Aquaduck Pools for my weekly service for about 5 years now. I have had some issues with their weekly service technicians in the past but after discussing it with the owner Scott, the issues have now been resolved and the pool looks great every week. I have used them to re-plaster my pool and spa and replace all the pool tiles about 2 years ago and it still looks great. I am now having them replace the pool motor as well. I do recommend them but it's important to oversee their service and to communicate with the owner since the service technicians sometimes do not do everything properly and do not always communicate with the owner. read more

I have used Scott and Aqua Duck pools for the past 7 years at my home in Encino California for general pool service, which has always been excellent and prompt. I have a hard to manage rather large pool (under lots of trees). There was earth movement in my area and the Pool developed several serious cracks. Scott performed and verified the leaks with scope/camera testing before doing the work. I received three (3) quotes and Scott fared the best as he really understood the construction technique that had to be done for the price (compared to others). Pools with cracks have to have heavy metal rebar staples and not just patched (x numbers every few feet). Although the other quotes were fairly competitive, the other contractors were going to use fewer metal staples to bond the pool (therefore cutting corners for profit). This happened between Christmas 2015 and New Years - Mid Jauary 2016. He worked out a plan to get his crew in and around the Holidays (before the rainy season) and was prompt in starting the work. I highly recommend Scott and his company for pool service, repairs and general pool construction. He knows his business well. I have known him personally over the years to be a great guy, very personable (before you really get to know him a man of few words), spiritual with integrity and honest. A. I don't know if this company even deserve 1 star rating!!! I had a bad experience of hiring them to service my pool in 2016. At the beginning, they were very nice. Scott responded to my phone, texts very quickly, but after they got our contract, everything changed 180 degree, like black & white. Their employees are ok, but they kept changing workers came to house for pool services. Managers are sucks. Customer #1 is not their priority!. My pool was always murky, greenish, algeas, just one day after their services. We called them, took two days for them to come to correct. When something wrong with the pump, they sent another worker came to estimate (only.) If we agree pricing, they would came another day with different worker to fix or replace the fail pump's components. And if they damage another thing of the pump, they simply said they found out another issues, need to fix or replace with an additional cost. I complained & they came back with an attitude! When I canceled of their services, they still billed & charged us two months of services without services(!!??) Again, we called & requested for refund the amount they over charged us (Feb, 2017), until now (4/6/2017) still haven't heard from them since... We are trying to get our money back they charged us without their services. I guess I'll have to go to the lawyer for this not to happens to anybody else I would not recommend Aqua Duck Pool Services to anybody... read more
