A sales rep (assuming he was even legit) showed up at my house uninvited and wouldn't stop talking no matter how many times I said I wasn't interested. He mentioned the names of neighbors who were using the service by their first names and I doubt that any of them are real. I finally had to close the door in his face since he wouldn't take no for an answer. Then he stood on my front step for a while which creeped me out. He finally left and I saw him going up the driveway on an electric scooter. Seemed really odd to me and made me very uncomfortable. I did not leave a rating because they did not kill anything. This is the worst service I ever had. A sales rep came up to me while I was in the driveway and made his pitch. He was very convincing and seemed like he knew what he was talking about. So I decided to say ok because the bugs were really bothering the family. The technician showed up and asked me what kind of pests I have. I told him spiders,ants, wasps and most of all fleas. He said not a problem. First treatment did not work. A different guy came 3 months later and told me it takes awhile for it to really work. The guy went and did incomplete, fast job and left. I called the corporate and told me that if I cancel now I would pay full price. So it would be cheaper to finish the year? He said yes. So the next guy came and asked how the treatments were going? I told him the last 2 were horrible and now it is winter so there are no bugs. He went about his business with spraying and spreading stuff for ants. Then he left. I called coporate again and asked them when can I cancel. He told me after the last treatment. I said ok. Today I had the last treatment so I called to cancel and they transfered me to a service manager who proceded to blame me because I did not call to tell them. ZERO STARS!!! A very young "salesperson" caught one of us in our driveway and started his speech to try and sell pest control services. I am wary of door to door solicitations these days and immediately went outside. This guy had no vehicle, no literature to hand out, just a tablet, a shirt with the company name and a badge around his neck. "We're currently servicing 28 neighboring homes".....to which I responded, "oh yea, which neighbors?"....he pointed east, west, north and south. I said can you be more specific so I can ask MY neighbors about your services? He said "that corner house over there"....I knew they had no such service. He then said "no, the other corner." That's when my demeanor changed. I looked him in the face and told him not to take this personal but "I call bullsh*t". He laughed and then continued his speech. I said, dude, thanks for trying, but we're good. It's 95 degrees out here, I'm going inside. He continued to smirk and try to show me a map and pictures on his tablet as I tried to walk away. I wasn't laughing. At this point, I'm getting visibly perturbed. I asked him where his vehicle was and he stated it was a few blocks over at a job and he was walking around to try to fill the open spots left for the day. At this point, he's losing me and offering free spraying for today only. I laughed at him, told him this was such bullsh*t and just walked into my home, locking the doors behind me. THIS PLACE SUCKS!! I wish to god I could give 0 stars or take them away you people deserve nothing but to rot! First it starts when they come door to door (read a few other reviews and i'm almost glad to know we weren't the only ones who got bullied into it). This girl comes to the door on a hover board and my mom has answered the door she basically tried to come inside to tell us about what they do. She saw my grandma and wanted to talk to her and refused to talk to my mom or I despite us being the ones to open the door and speak to her. Now my grandma is elderly and innocent like most grandmas she talks her way into our house-WITH NO MASK and my grandma is high risk-and sits down telling my grandma all about how great their services are and how we should do this and it'll be great. I'll be honest we do have a mosquito problem so we were curious as we can't even sit in our backyard without being eaten alive. This girl asked if she could walk around the house and the backyard and go into the garage and have a look around we told her no because we didn't feel comfortable with that. She then bullied my grandma into a contract that we DO NOT have a copy of and she was not allowed to read it, so ridiculous. They have come 2x and our mosquito problem is worse than before if that's even possible! We called and asked them to come back the 2nd time they told us they would but said it's our fault our gutters weren't cleaned recently and that's why we have mosquitos. Well A-holes at Aptive, hate to break it to you BUT we have 1.had your people here 2x 2.use Off Fogger in the backyard 3.Put Off on ourselves 4.Use citronella tiki torches and citronella candles 5.Used this bug zapper thing they gave us and 6. Had our gutters cleaned which had NO "standing water" in them SOOO what's the problem Aptive? They called the other day looking to see "how happy we were with the process" DISAPPOINTED AND ANGRY it's not working we told them this and asked to try to cancel but we would "incur a $300 fee" if we wanted to "breach or break our contract" Little did we know it's a 24 month contract with at least 12 more treatments!! We requested to speak to a supervisor and we were told we would need to speak to the "loyalties dept" to see what they could do and they would give us a call back Monday (8/2) morning, it is now Wednesday (8/4) afternoon. Review should be 100 demerits. The treatments are superficial and the technicians spend 5 minutes with a spray, fail to inspect property and even come into the house to inspect, treat and follow-up. They refuse to accept cancellation and continue to bill for failed service and threaten a cancellation charge. DO NOT LET THEM INTO YOUR HOME. I had a service call from a legitimate local company today. The tech spent over a hour inspecting, treating remediating and explaining issues - totally different from Aptive that sprays and runs without even informing homeowner that they are on-site. They will consistently bang on your door even though there is a no solicitation sign on the house. And thanks to a lack of communication in the house they ended up being hired. I'm stuck dealing with them and imagine my surprise when wearing nothing but a towel on my way to the shower I find a stranger outside my sliding glass door spraying the area despite not having an appointment and there being a no trespassing sign on the gate. I get dressed, find him out front and tell him there was no appointment, so we make a new one. Meanwhile the yard he entered is my dogs' area and is separately fenced off. Surprise-I noticed later on he never shut that gate behind him so my dogs could have gotten into the road. The day of the appointment happens and he is a no show, wasting my morning where I made a cancellation to stay home. Apparently it's difficult to cancel this company after agreeing to their service but if I'd hired them I'd fight to do so and I'd like to think the antics they've pulled would be enough for that. What a waste of money! I got my "free" spray in June. Honestly didn't see any difference. They only treat the foundation of the house. The yard is not covered at all. The next two treatments were done at the end of September and December when there are no bugs out and for $160 a pop you get a guy with a dust mop wiping down your eves only. My next appointment is scheduled for the end of March, when those mosquitoes are really biting! Called to cancel, it would cost $240 to cancel the last appointment. The sad thing is the insecticide they used on the first treatment you can get on Amazon for $60 and treat your whole house all year instead of their $640 BS contract. Tried to cancel my service only to be told I should hold off for the 3 month grace period or I wouldn't be able to get follow-up service if there were bugs in between visits. The week I'm planning to cancel (2 1/2 months at this point), they do a service visit (that I never authorized) and automatically charge my account. Where do I start? Very pushy salesman came to my house and said he would match the price of my current exterminator and add a bunch more services for the same price. With the bad bugs this year I said ok. They came once in the middle of July and treated the yard. I have a contract with dates for the rest of my services. My 2nd service was suppose to be August 24th. Well here we are on September 6th and no one has shown up. It is suppose to include mosquito control and in a couple of more weeks they won't be an issue here. Customer service sucks. No returned phone calls. Not answering emails. They scammed my neighbor. Forged signatures. Stay far away from the deceptive company. The guy who showed up on the Segway is very good at his job of being a salesman. But that is all he is good at. I wish I had read these reviews before joining. the sales person catches you at home, and once you sign, its impossible to get out. they charge you for everything, and won't let you out without huge fees that make it cheaper to stay in. They come around squirt some liquid around your house and call it a treatment. I had less problems when I was spraying on my own, and it was far cheaper. When I called to pay my $50 bill for a one-time service I gave credit card information and was asked if I would like the card to be entered into EZ-Pay, I stated, "No, the card was only to be used for that one-time payment". An hour later I was charged a $130 fee for a 'quarterly service' - again, I did not give authorization for my card to be charged for additional fees, and in fact explicitly asked that it only be used to pay for that one payment and did NOT want EZ-Pay. When I called to inquire about the charge I was told by a manager at the Deer Park, NY location, AJ (a.allen@goaptive.com), that I was on a 12 month plan. I informed him I was not aware of a plan and was not told that by the sales person, we disputed that and he then told me he was charging me a $300 cancellation fee. I told him do not charge my card, and he said he was going to charge my card anyway - and did! Both the quarterly charge and cancellation fee are in violation of the Electronic Funds Transfer Act because I did not give authorization for my card to be charged. When I asked AJ to speak with someone of higher authority, he repeatedly refused and said he is the highest person at his location. I told him I was not asking to speak with someone specifically at that location and wanted the information of anyone of higher authority, including the person he reports to; he again repeatedly refused. I then asked for the headquarters information and he told me that each location is owned independently - which is not true - and there is no one else I can speak with. All of these conversations are recorded, so I have PROOF! I have reported them to the BBB and am also filing a fraud complaint with AMEX (the card they charged). The "service" they provide is false. They claim to be treating for pests when in fact they don't. I actually presented video proof to this company that they did not do the service and they claimed to fire the technician who appears again at my home another day. Another employee gave me the finger and screeched his tires away from my house after I informed him he needed to do more work. The customer service and even the "manager" are god awful. I made a mistake signing up for a year and they refuse to let me out even after they failed to uphold their end. They walk around the house clearing spider webs and spread a few granules. I had a mouse in my kitchen. The tech left glue pads and promised if I called someone would come back to remove it. I found the dead mouse on Sunday and texted (this company texts) that I wanted someone there the next morning to remove the dead mouse as it was in my kitchen drawer!!! How disgusting to have it laying there while you are preparing food. I received a text sorry they couldn't do it until the following day. I was livid and demanded that someone come, as promised, and remove it, as promised. Would they want their families to eat with a dead mouse in the drawer???They agreed to send someone, miraculously who remarked that they probably didn't feel it was an emergency because anyone could get a husband or boyfriend to come and remove it for them. That's like getting a surgery and the hospital asking the family to come in and clean the up the OR also any services done on they outside do not work. If I could give this company ZERO stars I would! I was one of the unfortunate people that signed into this bogus contract. After the first visit we weren't pleased at all. We called to have them come back but they never showed! Instead they show up 3 days later when no one was home. What was the point of that?! I called and explained over the phone my concerns and how unhappy I was, the rep was very nasty and rude. I asked to cancel and she advised me that I would have to pay 345$ to cancel! Now a couple of months later another exterminator showed up to spray. I called the company again, this time a man answered, also very rude! I advised him to please cancel my contract and mail me my final bill. He said "once you pay the past due balance we will cancel your contract."
