Been a customer for 1-1/2 years, unfortunately have a 2 year contract. Different technician visiting my house every service. Having to have the SAME conversation on concern areas each time is frustrating. Having a rotation of strangers as technicians in my house each month is disconcerting as a customer. Placement of mosquito treatment for months was incorrect for where we spend most of our time outside. Luckily the 3rd technician we had this summer caught it, but we suffered for 4 months prior while still paying for service. Were told "Mosquitos are just really bad this year". Except that the 3rd technician was able to noticeably fix it, so I guess it isn't all out of our hands thanks to mother nature. Final straw, I had my windows cleaned last week for $1000. The technician this morning oversprayed treatment on each window leaving fresh spots EVERYWHERE! I didn't catch what he was doing until he was mostly finished. I'm sick to my stomach looking at my windows, now covered in spots and drips of bug repellent. At this point, I prefer the bugs. read more

Do not use this company... Charged $179 for technician to be on our property for 8 minutes. When I called to inquire what service was performed, was transferred to a supervisor. When I asked her if she was concerned that her technicians were only spending 8 minutes on my property, she replied some techs are faster than others. I told her it sends a bad vibe that management doesn't care if services are performed. That it appeared their only concern was is the bill paid. She told me her concern was that I was unhappy. At $179 for less than 10 minutes is more expensive than my attorney. All other techs from Aptive spent time here and sent photos after they left. This guy left so fast that when we asked for photos he said there were not any taken this visit. Guess when you are a fast tech on a property for 8 minutes, you don't have time to make photos.... Friendly advice, say no thank you when they come knocking on your door. read more

I would give this business 0000 if I could! Beware what they sell is not what you get and trying to cancel is a nightmare. You will be better off by just using a local service. As far as what they can improve on honesty, integrity and customer satisfaction for a start! read more

STAY AWAY FROM APTIVE If I could give negative stars, this company would be a minus 5. Aptive Environmental has terrible business practices. On the day of the first treatment to our home, they sent a technician that was clearly intoxicated. As such, he proceeded to spray the outside of our house with yard fertilizer. But that's not the worst part. When I called to report the situation, I was told to get a quote from a local power washer to come out and clean the outside of our house. I did that and sent the quote along with pictures of the stained siding. I was told I would receive a check to pay for the cleaning. That was on April 24th, 2025. After numerous calls with various individuals, I have still received nothing. Today is June 3rd, 2025 and we have still received nothing. We have been told over and over that it is in the "legal department" and that "there is a process." I told them that it sure is a good way to lose a customer. Had they expedited the process, we may have stayed with them. But this is just a terrible business practice and Aptive is not worthy of anyone's business as they treat their customers as if they are a nuisance. Furthermore, I came to discover that ours was not the only house in the area to receive such treatment. Well, we finally decided to pay for a pressure washing service out of our pocket hoping that we will at least get reimbursed. We paid $39 up front, $90 for the first treatment (that was botched) and they continue to come to our home AND charge our card for these followup treatments because I was told that in order to get a check for pressure washing, we could not cancel our agreement until that was settled. They have been going door to door in our NO SOLICITING neighborhood for months. One guy drove through my front yard on his Segway, couldn't even be bothered to park it in the driveway. Despite multiple neighbors telling them about the no soliciting policy, never mind the signs at the entrance, they continue to go door to door. read more

Sales reps have been told a dozen times over weeks that door to door sales is prohibited yet he continues to aggressively push neighbors to buy unnecessary services, even going so far as to say "I can't *believe* you wouldn't sign up for our services." Ignore what the nice salesmen tell you, they're going to try and charge you $179 every time they come out AND they're the ones doing the scheduling. If one of their (very personable) reps knocks on your door, do NOT waste your time listening to their hard sell. What they offer sounds reasonable, but the contract terms are different and if you sign a contract with them they will start showing up every 3 weeks, not every 2-3 months, with less than a day's notice and it's $129/each time they do. PLUS, we didn't notice ANY change in the amount of bugs we had and let's face it, unless your house is infested with nests, bugs are an important part of nature. It was around $200 to break the contract but worth it in the long run since paying $129/every 3-4 weeks for two years would be INSANE!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID. read more

The next month after the end of our one year contract, we started seeing ants again. Scheduling them for inside appointments was completely inflexible. At the end of the day, $129 every month for 12 months, I do not recommend. The only reason it gets two stars is because the couple people who did help inside were decent. read more

While in the process of making dinner, we had a rather aggressive salesman show up to our home. I actually thought my husband was participating in a city survey because he was outside talking to this individual for so long. The salesman continued to shove his iPad into my husbands face to try and get him to immediately sign up for their "pest" services. He scoffed at our agreement with Clear Defense; although, he couldn't match their pricing. He then started to counter offer pricing once he realized we already had a good pest company.Despite being told multiple times we would need to conduct our own research before agreeing, he continued to push for our commitment. Four times- is the amount of times my husband said, "no thank you." This man must have considered that a challenge because he would counter with, "let me do you one better." My husband asked multiple times for the gentleman's business card, which he could not produce. As if this train wreck wasn't enough, this individual looked at my houseplants and said he could fix the slugs killing my plants. I have never seen slugs anywhere near my plants or even on our property. Btw, ionized salt also takes care of those and you can find that at Walmart. My plants are healthy and thriving- you would think a company educated on pests would recognized plants that are void of pests. Once we finally convinced him his sales pitch was not going to work he said, "I thought I had you. At what point did I lose you?" After this man left, we further investigated this company and found multiple red flags depicted by former customers. If anyone from this company shows up, don't sign up until you have thoroughly done your research. In fact, I'd "do you one better" and just say no and close the door. read more

They go door to door. Don't let these people near your house. I tried to be polite and get them to leave, however, I had to tell them I would not call them so they would leave. Very pushy and Bengal bug spray does the same job for $15. read more

They do a wonderful job..very thorough, send you a whole text after every service with pictures and info on what they did. It's usually like 2 paragraphs! If there's any issues they will come right back with no extra charge. I don't normally respond to door-to-door sales but I actually couldn't say no to the offer and I'm happy I did and will renew the contract again needless to say read more

They never showed up when they said they would. Showed me a picture of my attic that had rat burrows and black poop. It finally dawned on me that it wasn't my attic. I didn't have the bright white insulation or the thickness that it showed. My insulation is 37 years old. They never completed the work in a timely manner. I finally told them I didn't want them back and refused to pay the balance. read more
