My move out experience was frustrating and left me feeling like I was being given the runaround…read moreregarding my security deposit. I received written permission by text to mount my TV and pictures using screws, and I patched the holes before moving out. What concerns me most is that photos were taken to document the property's condition before my lease ended, while I was still cleaning and moving out. I finished cleaning and returned the home, including the garage door remotes, on the final day of my lease, yet I was later told the remotes were missing. I was also charged around 400 dollars for carpet cleaning, despite the lease stating the carpets are cleaned between tenants. Combined with the loss of a significant portion of my security deposit 2,695 for walls that were cleaned and patched, these charges did not feel fair, based on the condition in which I returned the home. I'd encourage future renters to document everything, in detail. And, maybe think twice about renting through this company." SJA managed our property in lake Stevens for about 2 years. Ugh. It was so poorly run that even…read moreafter we told them we were leaving we still did not get a timely reply back until I cc'd management and other staff we had interacted with on the emails. We calculated how much money we were getting after their fees and all the repairs they had done (for our 1990 house that was in great shape) and it turned out to be 65% of the rent. If you need anything be prepared to interact with their robust team of offshore folks in the Philippines. We are still unclear why we needed our septic pumped 2x within 2 years and were quoted $3-4k each time as they did not send us the detailed breakdown of the requested work. We had a suspicion that the folks they use for maintenance and for other repairs were financially incentivized or tied to the company as we did not receive multiple bids and it looked like SJA had ties to the company doing the work. Shout out to Kayla Schwartz who never answered any of my emails until I cc'd Claudette Scott. They did not seem to fully do walk throughs and left our property and wood floors covered in dog pee pads during the walk through. We requested that they not allow tenants to use our fireplace and found they had left that in the listing so we were legally obligated to allow it. Neat. If you want to lose significant amounts of value and gain 0 value except for a huge headache, SJA is the property management firm for you!

My girlfriend and I worked with Ashley from the Mill Creek office of John L Scott…read more She was actually the second realtor we'd talked to; our first realtor, which another real estate service helped us find, was very pushy about getting a sale out of the first few houses we'd seen and when we couldn't get responses from her about looking at others, we decided to look elsewhere, for a less pushy realtor. We were starting to get a little worried that we'd have to back out of the home buying process if we found another realtor like our first because we were on a tight-schedule in terms of time constraints due to finishing a lease at our apartment. Instead, we were incredibly happy with the service we got. Ashley clearly knows what she's talking about and went above and beyond for us in terms of getting us showings and explaining things to us that, as first-time home buyers, we never would've thought to look at (such as whether a house is on well or public water, or septic or sewage). She was also great about negotiating with the sellers when hiccups came up during the home purchasing process, allowing us to get the house when we thought we were out of luck and wouldn't be able to. Happily writing this from inside my new house and both my girlfriend and I would happily, highly recommend Ashley.

The best part is that she was down to earth and it was great to talk to as well. if you just happen to walk in to the Millcreek John L Scott and you are looking to purchase a home I would definitely recommend you first talk to Jamie

I was relocating from New Mexico, and they made the entire search so easy. Bree sent over a curated list of apartments that matched my price range and my amenity and feature requirements. She also provided information about each neighborhood, which was incredibly helpful since I was moving from out of state. The day I arrived in my new city, our other agent, Kristi, picked us up and gave us a six-hour tour of the places we had selected. Additionally, she was an advocate for us throughout the process. She asked the tough questions of the leasing agents on our behalf to help ensure we got the apartment we wanted. She asked questions we hadn't even thought of, so it truly felt like she was on our side rather than pressuring us to choose a place. She was amazing. Even before I signed my lease, I had additional questions, and Kristi was there to answer those as well. Both Bree and Kristi were fantastic. They even handled turning down the apartments we decided not to select, which was one less thing for us to worry about during a major move. Great service all around! They made relocating to Seattle and finding an apartment so much easier.

Our trips to the area were often random, but she was always available and professional. She handled all the complications of long distance details without us being physically present, and we couldn't be happier.
