A A Garage/Warehouse almost in the middle of nowhere, that sells washers, dryers, refrigerators,…read moreovens, etc. At 50- 60% off list price. A landlord's paradise. Mostly everything is in fairly good shape, if not excellent condition. The owner told us that they get rejects from Best Buy, Walmart and other big box stores. They carry A LOT of Samsung appliances, which have a bad reputation of breaking down. And they also have a lot of GE (General Electric) which is not one of my favorite manufacturers, although I hear they are making a come back. There are though some LG's, Whirlpools, Frigidaires among other manufactures, but they seem to either get snatched up quickly or perhaps just rarely come in. The facility is not climate controlled AT ALL, so who knows how reliable the stuff really is after sitting in below freezing temps in January or boiling in July. Will post an update after our first purchase.

The curly haired woman working the store--unsure if it's the owner--is rude and condescending doesn't want to tell you about other locations sales or online purchasing for the better sales. I watched multiple people walk out after seeing the "sale prices" and try and go to other stores. Naperville is supposedly CLOSED CLOSED per another gentleman checking out their store also. Not worth the drive unless you only want $200 off a high ticket price item. Even the worst off damaged appliances were still pushing $1800-$1500.

I ordered a Blue Ray burner from Best Buy. The advertisement on the Best Buy website indicated the…read morebrand name was "Topteng" and the Blue Ray burner was capable of burning 4K resolution. I received the burner 4-days late. The tracking information stated it was packaged and shipped by a company called "Uni Uni" (not sure who that is). When the burner arrived, i opened the package and was unable to find any indication of the burner's 4K compatibility. Also, the Features section on the Best Buy website for this burner stated it was compatible with a variety of windows operating systems including Windows 11, but the User Manual does not indicate that feature. I returned the burner to the Best Buy store in Joliet. I explained my findings and suggested to the customer service girl that this was "deceptive advertisement". She said "they have no control over third party sellers". I guess a third party seller can lie about a product and Best Buy is okay with it???!!! So, buyer beware. Things are not as they seem when buying from the Best Buy website.

If you need an engine repaired by somebody who actually knows how to repair engines, this is the…read moreguy. Think the fellow who your Dad used to take the lawnmower, tiller, etc. to for spring tune ups and actual repairs. The guy who fixed the things you thought were finished...back when people actually used to repair things rather than throw them away. OK, probably your Grandpa' generation at this point since skill like this is fading. This fellow (Brad) does not rely upon a check engine light and a computer code to tell him what is wrong (unlike my Nissan Dealer!). This fellow knows how to trouble shoot engines the old-fashioned way and actually repair them. I took a Troybilt tiller to him that had previously been "repaired" by a "Troybilt authorized service center" over in Lockport. Those guys had the machine for three months, could not even get all the major bolts back into the machine (something that I did not learn until I tried to till up the garden), and charged me three times what Hamilton's charged me...and it never did run once I got it home. Hamilton's had the machine for about a week and a half (I told him there was no rush) and it now runs PERFECTLY. He even substituted in a new carburetor cup (since mine was heavily corroded by fuel varnish) from another, identical surplus engine that he had in stock...free of charge. Yes. He has a lot of old parts, engines, etc. IN STOCK because this is a REAL repair shop that has probably been in business since about 1920 (just kidding, Brad is not that old). I HIGHLY recommend Hamilton's Small Engine Repair. Go to him because he is a small business owner. Go to him because he KNOWS what he is doing. The timing of the repair was right. The price for the repair was right. Most importantly, the tiller works (in time for spring tilling of the garden) and now I don't have to keep renting one from Home Depot when I own one! Actually, kudos go to the fellows in the Home Depot rental department for pointing me in the direction of Hamilton's Small Engine Repair. Now if he only did cars!
