(other company did not do repairs for speed queen). My kitchenaid refrigerator stop making ice. but every now & then would drop a few ice cubes. the 1st repair co. told me I needed a new ice maker & the cost would be $735. Alan stated if it was making ice then he didn't think I needed a new ice maker. I scheduled him to come out & diagnose the problem. His tech came out the following day. Long story short my problem was accumulated dust on the coils front & back. he cleaned them out & the next day my ice maker was working and still is. Alan and his workers are honest people and knowledgeable! He saved me $735 less service call fee which I was happy to pay! Also this was second time the ice maker stopped working. This was my first in home appliance repair call ever. Being a big fan of wizards of any type, I gave the Washer Wizards a call. The owner answered and gave me a quick quote on the phone. He had a pretty good knowledge of most major brands and their common problems. I agreed to his price of $450 to replace the motherboard. Within the hour, he showed up at my door with the new board and his helper/wife. As he did the repair, his wife would hand him the proper tool. The repair took about 30 minutes and I paid the bill. After paying I mentioned a weird noise I often hear in the fridge. The Wizard spend an extra 20 minutes opening up the front of the fridge to repair the quirky noise.. NO CHARGE! I called AAA appliance repair to come take a look at a refrigerator that wasn't getting to temp in…read morethe freezer. When I called they were not interested in the model # of the fridge and said they would send a tech the following day. I was met with a rude tech who came to my house, opened the freezer a few times & said he thinks it's the control board. At no point did the tech pull the fridge out of its cubby, at no point did the tech inspect the fan or wire harness for the freezer, at no point did the tech even look at the control board which he claimed needed replacing, all he did was open my freezer & confirm what I already knew (that it wasn't getting cold) he said he would see if the control board was still available/discontinued & would follow up. They called this morning to let me know the part was no longer available & nothing could be done. I paid $100+ for absolutely nothing, AAA appliance should have taken my model number over the phone when I had first called for service and tried providing it, had they done this they could have come to the same conclusion (parts not available) without scheduling a tech. Beware consumers, this companies schtick is making money off of "diagnostic inspections" which in my instance should've been avoided as it was completely unnecessary due to unavailability of parts.
