I am giving this technician a 5-star rating for the excellent job he did fixing our LG oven. However i give the company a poor rating. The first tech who came to analyze the problem told me i needed an igniter snd charged me $321 for the part and $300 for labor. When the part arrived direct from LG the price was $189. Then they completly ignored the scheduled service appointment and made we waste an ebtire day waiting for a no show. The problem is complicaated by the fact that everything is conducted online by AI, and i found it impossible to contact with a human who could help. The oven is fixed, so, I guess, alls well that ends well. But i doubt i will use them again. read more

I would leave ZERO stars if I could! I have one suggestion: do not use Sears Home Services! While I was able to get a rapid visit (less than 48 hours) with a very knowledgeable tech, the supply acquisition area is non-functioning. I waited almost 3 weeks for a simple part. I finally checked with a local appliance shop who was able to find and ship the part to me in 2 days. I have canceled any further service calls (and verified they had really canceled the one that was supposed to happen today but couldn't happen due to LACK OF PARTS!) And on top of that, they had already CHARGED me for the installation of the non-existent part, which means I had to get them to authorize a refund. I have already warned them that I will be watching the credit card statement, and that if the charge is not reversed within 2 weeks, I will dispute the charge with Discover! My fridge died in November and again in January. The parts supposedly don't exist, I do have a service agreement. I ordered a new fridge from Sears customer site and paid for it with a delivery date in May. In May NO fridge delivery and was told none in stock after I paid for the one "in stock". I have been getting a runaround since January. There is a lot more to the story but I've wasted many hours of my life on this and have spoken to well over 50 different people there and one has no idea what the other is doing. read more

I have been waiting almost 3 months to get my washer fixed but nobody has fixed it or called me back. I have made more than 30 calls to them and nothing has been done. Every time I call I am promised that I'll get a call back or an email and have not. Everytime I call they tell me they can't find my account. I give them all the info and eventually they find it. I finally demanded that I get my $63.00 per month back to put towards the machine I had to go buy myself and they said no. No one at Sears could recover the cancel within minutes of him driving away, nor could they reschedule it or act on it--these are more of the out-of-the-country customer service reps, who are looping in appliance repair people in the area. Buyer beware! The experience I had with this company was horrendous. I trusted the Sears name and hoped they could repair my leaking Whirlpool Dishwasher. I had the technician come to diagnose the issues, order parts, and fix the issue. I paid $544.72 for the service. That evening the leaking was the worst it has ever been. I called the next day for a refund, and the only offer was to send someone else out to check the work and possibly diagnose another problem. If I choose not to take the recommendation, I would owe the tech $150 for the diagnostic visit. There is no person or manager you can speak to. There have to be better options out there than Sears Appliance Repair. My wife and I have decided to eat the $544.72 and just buy a new dishwasher. As a woman of 74 years old on Social Security, what I mean is that you reeled me in at an outrageous cost of $199 and then hit me with the cost of the glass top range of over $900, which I did not fall for. Jacob never showed up at my house. Jacob still had two stops ahead. All I got was a phone call from Jacob, asking me what the problem with the washing machine machine was. I told him that it was the same exact exact problem as it was before that the machine was leaking. I told him that the parts that were supposed to be installed. He never installed them because he said that they didn't fit so my washing machine was running with out the parts that were supposed to be installed into it that kept it balanced. The only thing that he installed on that service visit the previous visit was the shock absorbing rods that there are four of them that get installed on the rods. There are supposed to be four balancing hydraulic kind of pieces that get mounted to the rod and then to the four corners of the washing machine which is what the true balance setting is. I believe that the parts were not installed that my washing machine was broken due to service provider not installing the correct parts and calling SEARS to order the correct rods that had the part already built into it. Now I have just a washing machine that leaks and I just got an offer from my warranty company for $300 for the replacement of my washing machine. The first time that Jacob was supposed to be at my house to repair the washing machine back in December. He showed up at 7:15 at my house. everything was on camera so I have had the videos of him pulling up to the house walking up to the door not even knocking then leaving the driveway and then I received a message stating that the service provider Jacob had arrived at my house at 9:30 to do the service and no one was at the house. He said that he had knocked on the door and no one was there when in fact, there were three cars in the driveway and one car in the garage. I had to wait another whole week without use of my washing machine so I can get another service provider to come to my house, which was just another technician from your company. I am not happy at all because now I am stuck with a broken washing machine that I paid $1200 for and a warranty company that's offering $300 for the replacement of the washing machine. So, Steve was out here 2 times and he tried doing everything he could to fix this damn noise that our dryer is making. He ordered 5-6 parts and replaced the old ones, which did nothing! We are still stuck with the same noise that we started with! Although he out his best effort into taking care of this for us, it was all for naught! So, as far as I'm concerned, although he went through a lot of effort on his part, the machine is no better off then it was before. So, as far as I'm concerned, nothing was fixed and I was still charged for basically dealing with the same godly sound that we started with. In other words, I paid for him to not fix what we paid for! How is that confuse with repair work or paying for an appliance insurance policy that's pretty much useless? I should be given a full refund of the $100 that we paid, to have this issue resolved. I'm not a happy camper and after paying Cinch $127 each moth and getting service such as, oh well, you'll have to live with the ungodly noise, does not give me the warm and fuzzies! I made an online appointment for a repair of my refrigerator since it wasn't keeping cold as it should. I had two repair technicians come out to assist, diagnose that it was a fan that needed replacing and quote me a $517 repair. That seemed high, but I needed the work done. They had the part on hand and got everything taken care of in around 30 minutes. However, when it came time to pay and use my credit card, one of the techs (who seemed to be new/trainee) didn't have any kind of card reader on his phone. The more experience tech came back and they said they needed to call it in. The took down my credit card info on an envelope while I was standing there outside my condo so they could key it in on their phones in their automated payment system - in hindsight, I should have just read it aloud to them over and over again (see below). It took a few attempts (fraud protection kicked in the first time from my credit card company) before it went through. I thought everything was all set, but this is where the issues start for me, even though both techs were very polite and helpful during the visit. First, I checked my e-mail and saw the actual breakout of my bill which was $401 for labor for something that took 30 minutes at most. I figured a lot of the price quote was parts, but that was only $85 - how this work was $401 for 30 minutes I cannot understand. Second, the next morning, I got 3 separate fraudulent purchase attempts with Walmart using my card number - thankfully I was able to dispute the first and the second two were blocked by my card company as I changed my card number. Is it possible this was not tied to my service call? Sure, but for it to happen the very next day seems incredibly suspect, at a minimum. Third, in trying to understand the labor cost and wanting to alert someone at the local Sears repair branch about a potential issue with either techs using my card number or possibly not handling my information properly, you cannot speak to anyone at the local Manchester branch. I called two different days - once to the 1-800 # and once to the local # and both times they connect you to a call center outside the U.S. who only has limited knowledge of your situation and cannot connect with the local branch. Bottom line: The actual service work done was quick and handled well, but everything else in this situation was terrible and incredibly unresponsive. Again, I don't know if their techs were the ones using my card, but this seems like something (at a minimum) the local branch should be made aware of. Looking at other reviews on here from people who have had a problem, the fact that the response is to contact Sears Service via Facebook only further confirms how unresponsive this service is (especially for someone like me who doesn't have a Facebook account to begin with). read more

I have a sears home service plan that has more than paid for itself in just the past 4 months. It covers all appliances, whether I bought at Sears or not. Jake has been my service rep for the past 4 visits. He fixed my oven, and then has made several visits for my Kenmore Washer that has had repeated issues with the computer panel & drainage. The Washer was always getting off-balance & then not realizing it was full. It was overflowing, and I could only use it on Express and then sometimes it wouldn't spin. Anyway, this saga was resolved by Jake, the Sears repairman. Jake knows his stuff. He is professional, soft-spoken & friendly. He works efficiently & does an excellent job explaining what is going on with the machine. He recaps everything he has done to fix the problem and shows me the issue. He often has made my stop his first of the day, which has been great in getting done early in the day so I'm not waiting around. I find making the appointments online & rescheduling is very easy. I had to wait about a month for the new Kenmore computer panel (I presume they are breaking all over the place, bc this is my 3rd panel in 6 yrs of owning this Washer), but it arrived eventually, and Jake only needed about 20 mins to replace it, and show me where a plastic connector to the drum's fill sensor had broken. read more

Up front, you should know that there is no customer service department to call if you have a problem with their services. The numbers listed take you to an automated menu for sales options with NO option to speak with a representative. I chatted with 5 different "Experts" on their website, but they had ZERO power to help me. They just pointed me to the "Customer Care" number. That's the automated nightmare described above. We had two problems with a GE washer repair. #1. The first Sears contractor made a billing error and overcharged us by $206. This would have been a simple matter to clear up over the phone with a representative from their billing department, but there is no way to reach a human being. Instead, I spent days fruitlessly trying to track down help. #2 Either the first Sears contractor ordered the wrong part or the factory sent it, but either way, this set us back another two weeks. The second Sears contractor successfully repaired the washer and did his best to help me sort out the overcharge issue. He was very professional and helpful. He told me I would be reimbursed. I think he truly believed it, but two weeks later, I have not received reimbursement. I'd say read the online reviews for this service before you use it. The Sears name apparently does not carry the same value it used to. read more

I ordered a part online. I got the email confirmation to pick up the item. Drove 40 minutes and the doors are locked. All lights on. They are suppose to close at 5:30pm but doors locked at 3:05pm. I call and I am told they "might" be closed now. Someone else drove up. That person said they called to confirm they were open and came to the store. Just furious at this terrible service. I am going to return the item and get a replacement part from someplace else. Given Sears has been having trouble financially and closing stores, these employees would be wise to do better. I have NEVER had anyone pick up the phone when I call to see if they have a part in stock and when you just go there to try to determine if they have a part, they may or may not be open. This is in no way determined by whatever hours may be posted online or on premises. Not sure if they realize the internet exists, but they are now essentially useless. If I want a part from Sears Parts I will just order it and have it shipped. Deplorable customer service. I just spent a LOT of money at their partner outlet store and needed a replacement lint trap for my dryer. They don't sell them there so I drove over here, scrambled to find parking and JUST reached the door at 2 which is when they close. They had just locked the door, and walked away from me as I knocked on the door. Technically they were then closed but working in customer service myself, I know the right thing to do would have been to at least ask me what I needed and help if they could or explain that registers were closed or whatever the situation may be. Really disappointed since they knew I was coming, the rep at the outlet gave them a heads up. Seemed like they just rushed to close early. read more

Told me it was the noise filter, and that they could not be back for another week to replace it. He then showed me how it can be replaced - simple, 2 plugs and 1 screw. Part arrived on Tuesday, 3 minutes to replace, washer still does not work. Misdiagnosed. Another $300 wasted. I called their call center, person was more than rude and abrasive. I ordered a toe grille for my refrigerator to replace one that was very slightly damaged. These fellows managed to send me the right part in the wrong color - white instead of grey to match the stainless steel fridge, as I had told them in writing. When the part came, I saw the problem and decided to just return it rather than grappling with these idiots again. I packed the plastic, indestructible item exactly as I received and sent it back via UPS. I just received a no-reply email stating that the item was damaged and they were "unable to process" my refund. This is ridiculous, and of course they offered no proof and did not offer to return the item to me. They just confiscated my $30 or so. Sad to see a formerly great company sucked dry of both cash and ethics by their Wall Street whiz-kid masters. Now they're just minor league chiselers. I was not happy with the process of signing up for the appointment. I had to take a 1/2 vacation day to wait for the appointment window (8-12). When I realized I hadn't received a call the night before, I called and was told the appointment had been re-scheduled to another day, WITHOUT notifying me. I then had to take another 1/2 day vacation day, same window. Twenty minutes to 12, the repairman called to day he would be another 45 minutes, I now had to take another half day of vacation. VERY IRRITATING. This service does not offer Saturday or Sunday appointments. The stove was fixed, however, the repairman left a lot of debris on the stovetop. read more

I want to be very clear, the technician was excellent. Very professional and fixed the issue. I am just disappointed in the way the company represents the diagnostic fee. On the website it clearly states the diagnostic fee will go TOWARDS any repairs you choose to do. This is not the case, on the receipt it was clearly listed as an additional charge. I asked both the tech and then called the company about it, and they both told me the wording was wrong on the website. Tune up at home for snowblower. Service delayed by over two hours beyond service window. Technician looked at dipstick, viewed sparkplug, looked at belts, tightened two or three bolts and left. At most 15 minutes of looking an not an oil change. Not recommended---I am going elsewhere. read more
