Let me start by saying I should've paid the tech the diagnosis fee and called it a day. I truly regret my decision putting my trust in this company. It would've been much easier to replace my broken dishwasher than deal with the run around and misleading information I've been provided by the tech and its call center staff. I was given a pretty hefty estimate on the repair to start with but was told the parts were in stock and would arrive within 3-5 business days. They're still not all in and won't be in until at the earliest mid/late next week and that's if they are even being honest with me. In addition, the part that is holding up my order is a part that I requested to be changed because it was a little noisy but the tech confirmed at time of diagnosis was NOT the cause of the leak with my dishwasher. When I requested that the part be removed from the job and the final bill adjusted, the story changed. Now Appliance Master is insisting that the part we are waiting on is critical for the repair. This is completely false since it was ordered at my request. I asked to speak with a manager and the call staff refused to honor my request and left me with no other alternative but to wait for who knows how long for my repair to be completed or to cancel my job. Greg is a great technician and very polite person. He came within the assigned time window and was able to diagnose the problem quickly and suggest the necessary fix. He discussed the issues and showed the problem. He fixed the issue with necessary parts change. He went beyond and made sure that dryer ducts were clean too. The prices were reasonable. On a side note, I see a lot of negative comments about the service fee charged by the appliance companies. Every company charges a diagnostic fee of $80-$100 without which they won't be able to survive as they spend almost 2 hours to attend a call and diagnose. Who can afford to work and drive for free whole day if after diagnostics, every customer declines the required repair? So, sometime it is up to you to decide whether you would spend money on repairs/ diagnostics or simply get a new unit by adding some more money before making a call. More than a company, it is the individual tech that makes your experience good or bad, and translates into experience with a company. We hired Appliance Master to repair our double oven and built in fridge. 3 months later and 1,500.00 dollars in the hole we are dealing with the original issues plus new problems since the inexperienced tech tinkered with our appliances. This place is terrible! Called them due to a dishwasher leak. Shane came out and was not able to identify the source and suggested we call a plumber (after charging us $85 for visit). Had plumber come out the next day and identified that the leak was coming from a hole in the discharge hose. They were not able to fix as it is appliance related. I called Shane back and he came back out. Said that he didn't see the leak due to the hole being in part of the tune that was inside our cabinet (REALLY!!), all he had to do was pull it out a bit and wait for the machine to discharge the water!! The hose was replaced in 15 minutes and then charged me another $100. What a rip off. Terrible experience and would never use again. read more

Also, doesn't explain why I was told twice all the money would be refunded except for the initial consultation fee. I was told this when I asked what would happened if I cancelled and the same thing again when I called to officially cancel. When I had to call a week later because I still had no notification of the cancellation that person had a different story. Terrible customer service. Was told different things depending on which day I called. Charged extra to repair a washer because it was in a closet and needed to be pulled out. After the repair the dryer was not reconnected to the exhaust vent. A week later it was broken again and I was told by customer service lady that they couldn't come back until I paid the bill. I had to email the complaint department. They sent someone bs k after that and said there was something else wrong with it with an estimate of $1100 to repair. I'm left almost a month later with a broken washer. I refused to pay the bill. I am still left with a diagnostic charge which does me no good. read more

We had used them before and knew that if we didn't hire them to do the job that there would be a service charge. They came on May 4, 2021 and said that we needed a new garbage disposal. We gave them a down payment of $500+. Never heard from them again. I called several times and was promised a call back . . . nothing. Finally, I got an email in August saying that the part was back ordered. They had our money for 4 months. I am sorry but the fact that they use only one company to get the garbage disposal, is not my problem. My sink was backing up for months with junk. I held up my side of the contract, they did not. They refused to refund the entire down payment. They said that they were entitled to the original service fee because they diagnosed the problem - the garbage disposal was broken. We had a problem with our dryer on Memorial Day. Obviously all service centers were closed. Did not have a "go to" appliance repairman, so went online. Saw Appiance Master and was able to book online for a service call, which I did. It was for the end of the week and I was not happy with that. I called Appliance Master the following morning and got an appt. for that day! I was told that Jerome would be at my house between 2 and 4. He showed up right at 2, which was great. He went right to work removing the front panel and then finding the object that had gotten lodged in the fan. He removed it and lots of lint as well. We were good to go! This company has the worst customer representatives, they are rude and they rather offer you a refund for an appointment instead of trying to resolve the issue. I booked an appointment on their website and printed the confirmation. The Technician doesn't show up so I called the Customer Service person and they told me that the website was wrong. I asked when were you going to tell me as my time is valuable too. They just offered to provide me a refund and not resolve the issue. The scheduling online is a breeze and, when I had a question and had to call their office, they didn't make me feel like a dope for not being able to complete the entire process online. Wow. I used Appliance Master in the past and they were pretty good. But not this time. I have a 17 year old Viking built-in refrigerator with a massive refrigerator door. The hinges were warped, the washers had cracked, and the door was creaking and clicking like a haunted house. The technician said it was only the washers, which I knew wasn't right. But he replaced the washers, which, with the service call, came to over $300. Of course the door started creaking again within weeks, and within a few months, the new washers were also cracked and the door was creaking and clicking again. Appliance Master says well, your 90 day warranty has expired, so you have to begin all over again. I said, how about you fix it right the first time? How about all the calls I made to you in between and you said it was as good as it was going to get? Sad to say, I'm done with them. read more

The technician who repaired my Maytag washer was extremely knowledgeable, efficient and pleasant. Sorry I am not able to say the same about the office staff. Having been a home owner in excess of 40 years and I have dealt with a myriad of service people over those years, I never experienced a greater lack of cooperation and understanding. I called samsung and got it worked out 2 months later get a collection notice - total clowns do not use or in our case the manufacturer sent them out if I had known I would have turned them away. STAY AWAY FROM APPLIANCE MASTER My washing machine drum was banging violently against wall and door of machine as well as a tear in the rubber gasket around opening so called manufacturer since parts were still covered under warranty. They assigned claim to Appliance Master and I called for an appointment. When Abe the technician came out, I reiterated the problem with the banging and opened to door to the machine to show him the tear in the gasket as well. He literally stood there looking at his tablet and came to notify me that he "didn't know what was wrong with it" and that I had to call the manufacturer. But he would be ordering me a new gasket. I immediately called the manufacturer who told me the tech should have called them so they could help diagnose the problem. I asked for someone else to come out but they said they had to cancel the existing work order first so no parts would be ordered. I called Appliance Master to complain and was told there was a balance due for Diagnosis & Estimate. What a joke! The tech didn't diagnose or estimate anything! Then I was told to email my request to have the bill cancelled to "refundrequest@appliancemaster.com and the same person I spoke to responded to the email denying my request of course! Apparently they can just send someone to your house to stand there and then charge you a 100 bucks! Nice SCAM they have going on! Horrible service and zero customer service. Technician never put our washing machine back together properly and hooked up the water lines wrong. Made three phone calls to rectify and never got a call back. Will never use them again. ***to answer your question below sir about why it was necessary that someone call me back is: Yes, your technician replaced the part. That was the only thing he did correct. He didn't put the washing machine back together properly. The piece that keeps the washer from vibrating wasn't in the right spot the top wasn't sitting right therefore wasn't screwed back together properly. Then he hooked up the hoses wrong. I had cold water coming out of the hot setting and visa versa. So again my husband had to go pull everything out and switch that all around. I was already without a washing machine for 2 weeks and it was ridiculous for me to wait for your guy to come back and do what should have been done correct the first time so my husband fixed it all. I EXPLAINED ALL OF THIS TO A GIRL ON THE PHONE and she rudely told me someone would call me back. Please don't tell me we didn't try to communicate. That's false. My husband called a few days later and explained it all again and another woman said someone would call back. Still nothing. This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. Called for a repair on my washer and they were able to send someone out the next day. I was told the tech would be at my house between 130 and 330. I was asked if it was possible to have the tech call me when on the way and was told yes the tech would call 30 minutes prior to arrival. I received a call the next day at 1250 telling me the tech was running behind and would not be arriving till closet to the end of the window. Again I asked to have the tech call when on the way and was told he would call 30 minutes prior to arrival. At 245 the technician arrived with no advance notice! After working on the unit for some time, he has to call someone to get advice. They told him there was an issue with switch. However Patrick did not agree with that person so he called someone else. After another prolonged conversation, it was determined that it was the control board. I was quoted 2 days to get the part and total charge of $350. While Patrick was putting everything back together, I called the office and asked for a first appointment Friday morning since the part was coming Thursday afternoon. I was told their computer does not allow appointments to be booked until parts had come in. LIAR! Somehow the computer allowed them to book appointment for the tech to come to my house today with no parts. There is nothing I can't stand more than a company that lies to me. I cut my loses and told them not to repair the unit and that I would pay the $79.95 diagnostic fee. When the tech fave me the bill, I gave him a 10% off coupon that I had printed from their website. He had to call the office to find out how to give me a 10% discount. They will never be back in my house. The one star is because that is the lowest rating possible. read more

My Whirlpool washing machine was not draining properly, so I called Appliance Master. I had never used the company before, but it was a terrific choice! The scheduling was easy, the scheduler was polite and thorough, and the service fee was very reasonable. The technician, Jeremy, was prompt, professional, friendly and knowledgable. Thankfully, my issue was fixed on the spot. Jeremy showed me how I could prevent the problem and be able to fix the problem in the future. He asked if I regularly vacuum the filter in the back of the fridge (I do not). He showed me how to do it and helped to do it! Will definitely use the company again and will recommend. read more

I called their repair person for a Refrigerator repair. The repair guy came in and ask me if the appliance has any warranty. I have Sears limited warranty but the repair was not covered. Repair guy - We do not want to repair the refrigerator if it's under any type of warranty. Me - The warranty doesn't cover the repair. Can you try to diagnose and confirm the issue? Repair guy - Don't want to open the Refrigerator under any warranty Me - This might be a compressor issue ( the display shows that). Can you diagnose the issue and give me a quote? Repair guy - Without even touching the refrigerator. $1500.00 + 90/hr. You better buy a new refrigerator. Now since I showed my face, pay me $99.00. I did a research and found that a full compressor replacement would cost ~$450. Conclusion - They don't know shit about repair. They charge you $100 for a visit. Please see "Rimma B" review. I'm a property manager (residential/commercial), and often find myself needing to have appliances repaired. I've dealt with quite a few companies over the years, and some that I would never use again. Appliance Master has been my "go to" company for quite a while, after having dealt with other companies, and specifically a company in PA that couldn't repair a washer/dryer combo unit in Stewartsville. After the PA company wasted months and at least 10 visits to try and fix an issue, I called Appliance Master, who came out and fixed it in two visits (diagnosis and follow up visit). The unit has worked great for several months now. The last call was for a washing machine in Frenchtown. Both incidents along with others between were handled quickly, and in a professional manner. I've found that Appliance Master techs are quick to diagnose issues, and they've given me advice on keeping the appliances in good working order. I've read the other reviews here, and don't know what to say about them, other than my experience has been pretty good over the course of several service calls. Perhaps others have higher expectations than I do, but given the comparative experiences I've had with other companies, these folks were great. Also, I like that the company has automated emails in addition to phone calls, primarily because it is convenient for record keeping. read more

I had a dishwasher which kept stopping in mid-cycle. Their technician, Greg, was knowledgeable and properly diagnosed the problem to the control panel. A previous company had no idea what the problem was and tried to just blindly replace 2-3 parts. I signed up for a 10% discount for new customers. They honored the discount without a problem. I did have a slight issue with billing, but they resolved the problem immediately. Their office person, Cory, even called the manufacturer in order to get the full manufacturer's warranty. I was told that your technician would assess my claim- that the unit was not working and was not attached to the dryer. I was not told it was for a repair- I have an email to prove it. I explicitly stated AFTER A MONTH OF FAILURE due to your technician and company's negligence that I was no longer interested in a repair- you lost my trust - I gave you ample time to do the right thing- and you chose not to intervene prior to this point- on YELP- what type of business do you run when you nor anyone else fields phone calls or makes calls to find out the whole story? INSTEAD you chose to respond to this complaint because it's public- shame on you for thinking that customers don't deserve better service. I do not want your company back in my home after you've been so negligent- that is what you should focus on- but alas- you're only communication is this- it's sickening. Original post: If I could give 0 stars I would- took over a month to fix a pulley in a dryer. When they finally ordered the right part, they came to fix it- and it broke 4 days later. When inspecting the dryer, it's a stacking unit, we noticed that there technician never connected the stacking kit, so it was free standing. Had it stayed operational- it could have eventually fallen off the washer and hurt one of us. To make matters worse, for the entire month of July and now half of August I have had to wait for them to help and assess the problem. My suggestion is to NOT use this company. I rarely ever review, and if I do, it's always positive because so many online typically only review when their is something negative. This is my first negative review I've ever done online, and I'm 54 years old. My dryer was making a noise, like bumping. They said $60 to come out to evaluate. The tech (who did not smell pleasant), had to take the drum out to evaluate. The drum had a crack in it. He called his super and put me on the phone. $435 to replace drum and labor, minus the $60 I had already paid. That's a fair price, so I said "yes, can he put it back together, and how long until drum comes in?" He replied he would have the guy put it back together, and it would take 2-3 business days to get new drum. 1. I trusted them, so the next day we did wash, and when we opened the dryer, there were two large dryer parts in there. We had to hang the clothes up. Not a big deal. 2. Three business days later, I got no call. On business day 5, I called and they said it was arriving that day, they would be there the next day. So I stayed home for work. No Show. No Call from them. I called and left a voicemail. 3. Next day, no call back, so I called them. They said that the drum would be there in 2 days. Again, I stayed home that day. No Show and no call from them. 4. This happened 4 times in a period of 3 weeks. They always say in a day or two and NEVER call to confirm they are coming or not coming. 5. I got the "supervisor "on the phone and gave him what for. He was saying it's not his fault, it's the mfg warehouse delaying. I understand that, I've been in distribution 20+ years. What I don't understand is how they keep saying they know it will be here today or tomorrow, and, if they are going to be a no show, they never called me to say so. 6. When the drum did come in, the Super called and had his tech come out that night. Again, he did not smell pleasant. I've had workers for me that i've had to address this with. Since this guy came here twice like that, it's obvious they don't tell their techs to be mindful. If my super smelled me, I'd want to know, so I wouldn't be in a customers house smelling like that. 7. He put in new drum, I told them I'd pay balance of $125 for labor in 3 days to make sure it's working well. On the 2nd day after he was gone, the dryer is making a new loud noise. I paid the $125 as I said I would, but they did not address what the main problem is.
