Absolutely awful customer service. For my Thermador appliances, I used to use Stroud Appliances in Stroudsburg PA. When?I called then, they politely told me that, while Stroud longer has a Thermador tech, they referred me to Appliance Master, which does have a local service tech (in Windgap - 25 min from me.) When I called Appliance Master, rude woman confirmed that they do have a service tech in Windgap but they don't service my area. She could not / would not refer me to anyone else, and when I asked to speak to someone else, she hung up. BAD customer service!! read more

Total scam IMO. the guy came out and turned on our LG washer and immediately said it was the motor and we should replace the 6 year old $1000 machine. and then charged us $106 after like 3 minutes. Why bother even try fixing anything when you can just go house to house telling people it's the motor and collect $100 and move onto the next house collect another $100. in an hour you can collect like $1000. anyways, I asked the techabout the warranty- he looked back to us and said he didn't know. there's a f'ing large sticker right on the front of the washer that says 10 year warranty on motor. so I called LG and they told me to have the tech fill out the claim form. I called appliance masters and they said they don't work with LG warranties. we just had an actual LG repair person out and they diagnosed a different issue. still haven't resolved the issue but this service is total BS read more

Extremely Rude mannerless lady employee on the phone. I called to confirm a repair appointment for our Samsung ice maker. I requested if she can check my ticket number issued by Samsung and see when the repair can be scheduled. She said '-No checking you will receive a call if we receive ticket. I said it's been over two-three week can you pls let me know just incase your company called and I missed that call? 'NO' Have a good day - slammed the phone down!!!! Wow never experienced such horrible attitude before what we received from this rude hourly paid service scheduler employee - good job Appliance master franchise location on hiring and keeping rude senseless mannerless employee like her to serve your clients!! Disappointing quality and poor customer service. We hired AM to diagnose an error in our wall over that stopped working suddenly. The technician arrived, told us what we already knew from the error code on the display, then said that he couldn't repair it, and left. The invoice we received contained no diagnosis, part numbers, or recommendations which is counter to their contract which states, "Appliance Master charges a fee for our technician to come to your home, examine your appliance, explore causes of the failure, determine a course of action to return the equipment to proper working condition and to provide you with a "Total Job Cost" for repairs." I basically paid them $100 to give me a blank piece of paper with no solutions. We've called twice asking for them to update the invoice with a proper diagnosis and course of action and still haven't received one. read more

I had my dryer repaired yesterday. They originally came out a week and a half ago and diagnosed the problem as heating assembly. The technician did not have the part and said he would order it. Five days later, I called to find out when the part was coming. The woman on the phone told me they did not know and could give me no ETA for the delivery of the part. So, I decided to see if I could order the part and was able to purchase one later that day and was arriving in two days. The next day, I called them again to tell them I had found and ordered the part. Once again, the woman on the phone could give me no indication when or if the part they had ordered was coming. I told them I would call the schedule the repair when the part my order for the part arrived. Literally two hours later, they called me and said their pet had arrived and wanted the schedule the repair. I was confused and told her I had just spoken to someone there and told them I had ordered the part and it was arriving tomorrow. She asked me if I wanted them to install their part and I told them I would wait until my part arrived. I called the next day to schedule the repair and the technician could not come out until next week. Yesterday, technician came out and repaired my dryer. The repair was trivial; unplug old part and plug new one in. Unfortunately, during the repair, he laid the drum on the carpet runner in the laundry room and stained the rug with some tar-like substance on the drum. He mentioned it to me and I told him I would try to clean it up. Unfortunate for us, the stain did not come out and we will have to replace the rug. That said, he completed the repair and told me the remaining balance due was $245. I had already paid them $213.25 for the parts at the first visit. It told that was not correct and he called the office and then told me it was going to be $143.94 and that they had discount the bill because I provided the part. I paid the bill and he left. He emailed me the invoice. Later, I was reviewing the invoice and it show my original $213.25 payment for "parts" and a $100 discount. That seemed odd that I would not be refunded the full amount for the parts. So, I called the office and the woman I spoke told me that I was only refunded for "their cost" for the parts. I was shocked and asked her how could they keep the profit for a part they did not provide and she told me said could not answer my question and told me I would have to send an email to file a service complaint, which I did. 24 hours later I have still not received a call or a reply to my complaint. I was overcharged at least $100 and had a damaged rug to replace due to their service. This was the first time I had used Appliance Master and based on this experience I will not use them again and recommend others go elsewhere. Their charges are very high and they were either misleading or dishonest with me during the interaction. How could they not know when the part was coming and literally hours later tell me the part had arrive; hours after I told them I had ordered the part myself? How could they think keeping the profit on a part they did not provide was fair? From other reviews I have now read here, I think there is a pattern of deceit and misrepresentation with this company. I wish that was not the case and I welcome their reply to explain to me why I was overcharged for this service. In the meantime, I cannot recommend Appliance Master read more

My Dryer was getting too hot and turning itself off. Well its 2024 and you can diagonose a lot of these problems going online and figuring it out. So I knew the issue was the thermistor. Tech comes out, and has to diagnose himself, I get that of course and yes it was the thermistor. It take a couple of weeks to get the part and the tech comes back and installs that and recommends changing the belt, rollers, parts that may fail and I say yes, lets do it. Less than a year later, the dryer is squeaking, like something needs to be lubricated, I am not a tech so I have no idea but I will tell you it didn't squeak before the tech replaced the part. I called the company 8 months later and they said, the part is warranteed but the labor is not so I would have to pay for a service call. Wait, what? Your part is bad and now you want me to pay for the labor of installing a good part for the bad part that failed in less than a year? This makes no sense. If a part is installed that is warranteed and its bad, why would anyone have to pay the labor to reinstall a working part? I emailed them with this, they never emailed me back, no response. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THIS IS BAD BUSINESS. The reason I a writing this now, the dryer is on and its squeaking like crazy!! read more

Washer broken. First call $200 for call to say "impeller broken" on pump, based on listening to sounds made. That amount a credit for repair to be scheduled once part is in. Waited a month, then they scheduled service call for repair. Shipped part was wrong. What is irritating is that there has been no apparent effort to expedite shipping of correct part, or to expedite repair, or even to answer the phone and return calls. Bottom line is you are hooked into the company based on first call cost, and then you wait. We have been without washing machine for two months now. Hello, I have read the reviews here and noticed the owners response to email them instead of giving one star reviews. However I have emailed and called with no resolution to date. On Saturday May 30 I had an appointment for a dishwasher install. Let me first start by saying the technician DC who showed up was friendly and timely. Unfortunately not the right individual to install a dishwasher. To my surprise he stated that the company is a "Appliance Repair" business and not really an install one. Should I have been nervous and turned him away at that point? Absolutely but alas I did not. I will admittedly say that the depth of the dishwasher was 24 5/8" and the cabinet depth is 24". However what occurred after the technician left was no excuse for his attempt at install. The technician had a ton of excuses about every phase of the install. He never waited for me to turn on the dishwasher to ensure it was working and no leaks would occur. Well when DC left my house and I turned the water back on it started gushing water out of the bottom of the line attached up front underneath. I immediately turned the water off and called Customer Service at Appliance Master. Did you know they have the rudest customer service reps on the phone? I was offered zero resolution or apologies for the situation at hand. What I did receive was a snappy attitude and the blame/fault of the water leak was mine. As a single mom who works hard and saves to purchase the things she needs for her household, $185 for an install that went wrong is disheartening at the least. All I was requesting is a refund of some sort for the improper install. Since the technician could not come back and fix the water leak I was left with having to have someone else come out and fix the water leak. I will note that I bought all new parts for the technician to use but he decided to reuse the water line from the previous dishwasher which is what he damaged when fastening it back on. Literally I WISH I read the reviews before we called them. The tech was great, helpful, courteous, informative. Problem was, after he "fixed" the dishwasher (under 2 yrs old) within 24 hrs the same issue was happening. So i took a video, called the office to report the first time we tried using it after their company had "fixed" the problem the same thing was happening. The woman who answered the phone not only hung on me once, but AGAIN when I called back to speak with someone else. She literally said to me, "you're going to get me every time (and hung up the phone)" I'm seeing reviews from 2020 about a rude woman answering the phone. I can't even fathom how she's still working with the company. End result of calling this repair company? We're ordering the part ourselves and looking on you tube on how to install it. Had my call gone better and she'd been like, "sorry for the issues. We'll set up a tech to come out and revisit the issue" cool. That would have been fine. When my mother called this afternoon to inquire about the timerange of her repair appointment....her appointment first couldn't be found, then they asked her if she was at a totally different address, then they started laughing and told her that she "put her name in wrong." I have never voluntarily done a review in my entire life until now. My washing machine wasn't working correctly so decided to call Appliance Master after seeing a recommendation on Facebook. I should have kept looking. I realize that not everyone is a "type A" personality but the technician was not very friendly, helpful, or knowledgeable. I was eventually able to extract out of the tech that it might be a Load Sensing Switch but no guarantees. $396 to do the work. We scheduled an appointment because Samsung said they did not have anyone to service our area. Appliance master was listed as an authorized repair center. The technician was very nice and helpful, Tom S. But was not able to repair our dishwasher as the parts were discontinued. After getting all appropriate information from Tom we contacted Samsung who said they would need to come and verify that it was the malfunctioning part before they offered us a refund. Samsung came out and verified the problem was an accurate diagnosis. But they told us the part was absolutely available and they could have it within 5 days. Samsung also said they couldn't authorize the diagnosis from appliance master as they are not certified repair approved by Samsung, even though they advertise that they are. After trying to reach out to appliance master to find out where the disconnect in communication was as to why the part was available when we were told it was not, I was met with roadblock after roadblock. I spoke with Victoria after my husband reached out and was hung up on time after time. Victoria was rude. Cutting him off in his conversation and repeatedly hung up on him. I then called and spoke with her, stating that thier was no reason for her to hang up on me and that I won't be hanging up until this matter was resolved. I was then told that their was no way to reach management when I asked to speak with someone else. I asked how SHE got in touch with them she said she didn't unless it was email. I then said that is not how management works, so then I asked if she was running the show there since there was no management, to which she told me not to get smart with her. (Excuse me? Did she really just say that? Yes she did) I finally gave up and agreed to reach out to a manager via email. Have you ever heard of such a thing? Wish me luck as I continue my journey for answers in this matter. Long story short, do not, DO NOT allow these people to service your appliances unless you want a run around and a nasty attitude along with a bill for something that wasn't even fixed. read more

Very good service. Tech was neat, clean, on time, and he has good tools and good tech and was very very organized. My Samsung fridge was busted, he took a look, explained what was happening and answered all of our questions. The house call was $106 bucks with tax. They deduct that from the repair bill should you have them repair said appliance. The good - I'd call these people again. The office manager had her act together and so did the tech. The bad - it just doesn't make sense to repair an appliance anymore. The economics just don't work. Buy a fridge, it breaks, junk it, go get another. read more

I should have read the reviews on Yelp before using these people. My dishwasher of 1 year stopped emptying. Called Appliance Master. They sent out a young man who did everything "he" knew to do and said there is really nothing wrong with it. Maybe you could get a new hose. (maybe?) Well, I was glad to hear that and I proceded to use my dishwasher. The dishwasher did NOT drain. I called them up and the woman (described by others) was arrogant, unhelpful and used her catch phrase....have a nice day! I said, listen I paid 106.00 for him to look at it and he found NOTHING wrong with it. She said, get a new hose. We will replace that one for $159.00. On TOP of what I already paid. I told her this one was only one year old and the maintenance person said himself that there was nothing wrong with it. She replies "call the manufacturer" and hangs up. Had an issue with the upper oven of our Whirlpoor dual oven range. The technician, Mike, was very knowledgeable and friendly. He arrived within the given time window and worked efficiently, figuring out the problem quickly and showing me what needed to be replaced. They didn't have the exact part on the truck, but I appreciate them not trying to fix it with a generic part that would malfunction quickly. The correct part was ordered and came in quickly. The same tech came back for the installation and the repair was finished smoothly. I am impressed with their guarantee of their work, but happily I haven't had to use it. !!!SCAMMER ALERT!!! Let me start off by saying initially I had high expectations for this company unfortunately when the technician left my home is when things started to go awry. The company was quick to get somebody out to my home the technician was presentable and professional... Unfortunately that's where all the good things I have to say about this company stop initially the technician came out to my home for a stuck ice bucket in a 10 year old side by side, mind you the ice machine still worked and produced ice just fine it was the bucket that was re-inserted incorrectly during a family gathering. Initially the technician thought it could possibly be frozen together although I explained to him I did not believe that was the case, as I have tried several times to remove it myself even pouring hot water down the ice bucket. so first off he started utilizing a steamer to melt any ice potentially holding the ice bucket to the freezer. Tugging and yanking on the ice bucket in between each attempt then there was a cracking sound and after that he gave up and then proceeded to give me his diagnosis, unfortunately the diagnosis was the ice bucket could not be saved and needed to be removed by force ( total destruction of the current ice bucket) basically keep destroying things until he was able to get it out. When the steam failed the technician started writing a quote for several hundred dollars actually around $700 to be exact, claiming any parts he didn't need he would send back and they would refund me. At this point alarm bells were going off in my head and I decided to start googling new side by side refrigerator freezers seeing that I could get a new for less than $1500 it made no sense to me to spend $700 repairing a 10-year-old unit. so once the technician had left my home fearing that I had nothing to lose and already assuming I was going to buy a new unit I decided to attempt to pull it out one more time a little more aggressively. I got a ratcheting tiedowns strap and looped one end of the steel loop through the auger and the other end of the strap wrapped around the side of auger and gave it one stiff tug up not out like everyone had been trying to do previously. To my surprise the ice bucket came out completely intact, undamaged and revealing what the problem was, You can clearly see in the indentations in the plastic where a metal bar of the ice bucket had dug into the plastic inside the freezer door. Once I got the bucket out I looked at the bucket to make sure there was no damage realigned the auger and was able to re-insert and remove the existing ice bucket with zero problems. My initial scheduled window for repair service was 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. The company called and asked to have the appointment pushed back a half hour from 11:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m. At 2:45 p.m., one hour & 15 minutes past the sheduled window, the technician was still a no show. When I called Appliance Master's office I was told the technician was delayed with a prior appointment in the morning. I understand unforeseen delays/issues, but I don't understand the lack of courtesy to inform a customer of those delays. The whole day waiting & wasted. Called to repair a washing machine for a tenant. They temporarily fixed with a new hub kit, total bill $340. Then 6 or 7 months later, machine having the same problem. Some miscommunication, I don't know, but my tenant told me the technician was not able to get the part off in order to diagnose. My understanding was maybe he put the replacement part back on incorrectly and was not able to remove it. So I ended up purchasing a new washing machine. However, still received new bill for $95 for diagnosis. I said give me the part I paid for that is under warranty and their response was, "We only provide that as a courtesy if we were to complete the repairs." Had I decided to take that route, the new additional bill was another $335. Total of $675 to repair a washing machine two times, and not a high end one. So in the end, I'm out almost $450, STILL have a broken washing machine, and STILL had to buy a new one. No more appliance repairs for me. read more

Sorry for the long review, but it is worth your time reading it if you are contemplating calling these clowns! I have never encountered such a rude and ignorant woman as I did on the phone today as I attempted to resolve a poor service call and $214.45 repair on my LG ice maker. As background, I called to have my ice maker repaired. The service rep said I needed an "ice maker switch" and "up-sold" me to purchase a "water switch." The parts were installed during another visit. Two weeks later the ice maker stopped working. I called and they said the original rep had injured his back and a that I would have to wait 2 weeks fro his return. I said I did not want to wait two more weeks and just send out another rep. The new rep "Donny" showed up a few days later and was very angry he "....had to clean up someone else's mess!" I was shocked at his attitude and behavior. He said about the previous rep: "I can't get into his head but he should have replaced the entire unit because now it's going to cost you around $500 additionally for the new unit." I cannot really explain how rude and unprofessional this "Donny" behaved. I asked him to write up his proposal and send it to me so that I could discuss it with his management. After one week I did not receive anything from Donny so I called the office. The above-mentioned operator would not even entertain my request for a refund or deduct the original costs from the new estimate of over $500. I asked to speak to the manager and was put on hold. She returned to tell me that the manager only responds to email and would not come to the phone! I reminded her I was the customer and would hate to take the matter to small claims court. She said "good by!" I have since found out that my neighbor also had an issue with Donny. Read the other negative reviews! I wish I had! Well, 5 or 6 visits, I've lost count, and hours and hours and hours of their time on the phone with Viking, my oven is finally repaired, my KitchenAid ice maker is replaced. The techs, both James, and later, John, were very attentive and determined to resolve the issues. Viking had noooooo clue why my ovens were malfunctioning. John was ultimately the problem-solver, not Viking! I had an extremely negative experience with the vendor. Our refrigerator broke. Technician came to fix it. Then, after paying and being told that our part would arrive within 3-5 business days...nothing. I called 7 days later asking for a status update...nothing. I then called again today, was told that the parts had arrived some time ago. No one ever bothered to call us to schedule the installation. The refrigerator is still broken, and I am now told that no one can come to install the parts for another week. Meanwhile, we have no refrigerator, and no prospect of a repair until TWENTY DAYS after their initial visit. This is not the service that was promised to us. Cannot recommend. read more

Unbelievably poor customer service. They shipped incorrect parts, provided an incorrect diagnosis, failed to re-order correct parts, failed to follow up with communications when promised, made false statements, and refused to even have a conversation with me about my dissatisfaction with the service I was receiving. My refrigerator was unusable for over two months! The following is a direct quote from their website, "Get Results - Contact the Owner: Do you have an issue that needs to be addressed right away? Our President is interested in hearing from you to ensure your complete satisfaction! You can contact him directly at president@appliancemaster.com." I tried to use that email address three times before finally receiving a response from an employee who stated that the president does not get involved with customer service issues! So clearly false advertising here. Not only would he refuse to communicate with me, the employee refuse all of my requests for a simple phone conversation. She stated that they will only address customer service issues via email. Clearly they have no real concern for customer satisfaction. My refrigerator was finally repaired by a factory certified technician from another business who confirmed that Appliance Master misdiagnosed the problem and failed to properly label a part as reconditioned. Begs the question if they attempted reconditioned the part at all. Clearly you cannot count on Appliance Master for quality customer service. read more
