Their tech was super sweet and told me what he thought needed to be done. Great! I forked over money for the parts and he came back later with the parts and left. Well guess what??? Nothing was fixed. My temperature in the freezer varies from 0-30 degrees and my refrigerator from 35-45. I paid for a new motherboard and three sensors. My tech came back out and tested it and said I have no idea why this is happening. Let me talk to my boss and get back to you. Now it's been two weeks and the boss won't take my calls or return them. I've called no less than 8 times. The girl at the front desk even knows who I am. Please don't give these guys the time of day. You deserve better. read more

A couple years ago appliance champion repaired our dishwasher and did a fine job. Last week our range's oven stopped heating properly. I tried for three days to reach AC but their phone wasn't working properly and VM was full. Sent an email and finally Tyler came out and analyzed the issue. Had a leaky front-loading washer that had been driving us crazy with water leaks randomly on our laundry room floor. Saw one of Appliance Champion's trucks, snapped a photo so I could have the contact info, and gave them a call. Appt was easy to get. They came earlier than promised-- awesome! Jerry was the technician who came out. GREAT guy...friendly, capable, and, above all, honest. Our machine needed a part that took a couple of days, but they came out as promised and got it done in about 45 minutes. Fair price, too. HIGHLY recommend these guys, especially Jerry. read more

My refrigerator was making noise. It was working fine as far as cooling. They came out after a call from my wife. They took her cash the freezer failed to work after they worked on it. The refrigerator part worked. I left a note on the refrigerator asking for the old parts and a description of what they fixed. They came out again many days later and claimed to my wife it was the compressors. Anyone who knows about refrigerator systems knows that the compressor could not be the problem as the freezer was working. Called back that evening because they never called me. Got some receptionist who said everything is printed off and that the tech would call me in the morning. Late morning - no call. I call in and complain and a receptionist hangs up on me. I call back and ask for a manager - and some guy answers and hangs up. These people are epic rip offs. It has been over a week and now a fairly new refrigerator and freezer are both failing. Avoid this company like a plague. Updated 06/17/2019 Apparently this company has an F Better Business Bureau rating. Looks like I am not the only one who has problems with them. I had a terrible experience with an aborted repair with this company. My LG refrigerator failed after about 20 months of ownership. We called LG and they said the part was covered for 2 years, labor for 1, however, they had extended the warranty and would pay for the entire repair. They recommended The Appliance Champion as their authorized servicer. They sent a Tech who immediately charged us $75 for an evaluation, a cost LG said was included. The tech said the compressor was gone and we would have to pay $650.00 labor and it would take 4 hours. He also said it would take 7-8 days to get the part and left. I later called LG who confirmed they were paying the entire charge. They called Appliance Champion who refused to accept payment from LG and wanted me to pay the $650.00. LG instead sent their tech and had it repaired with part in 6 days. The compressor did not take 4 hours to repair but took 1 hour. I will not use nor recommend this company. read more

Called them (via LG) to fix my refrigerator that is under warranty. It is a counter depth unit that was rather expensive. Parts were covered but labor would be $750. Tech said it was at least a 6-8 hour job. That's why it was so expensive. I joked and specifically told him I would get upset if it turned out to only take 3 hours and was paying for 6 to 8 hours of labor. Well....it took only 1.75 hours. I was out of town when my wife called to let me know. I told her not to pay the remaining balance until I had spoken to the company about this. After several attempts to talk to the man in charge I was ignored and found out two months later they had charged my credit card the remaining balance anyway. This company, Appliance Champion, is terrible. I have reported them to the Texas Attorney General office, the Better Business Bureau, and the Texas Secretary of State. Starting in March 2019 I contacted them to repair my 2 wine refrigerators they came out 4 times. Each time they said I needed another part. One time it was a compressor another time it was replacing freon. 6 months later and $6,000 i can no longer get them on the phone. They do not respond to messages you leave on their website. Terrible service!! Do not recommend using this company. My 3 year old Whirlpool oven went out after a cleaning cycle. I called Appliance Champion to come diagnose problem tech said it a fuse was out and it would be $280 to repair and didn't have in stock would have to be ordered. He came back out this past Tuesday and replaced the fuse. My mom asked him to turn the oven on to make sure it worked properly and it didn't he said it would be another $200 for another fuse. So now I am out $280 and still have no working oven. I have called twice to speak with a manager to no avail. read more

Had a horrible experience! My refrigerator (only a couple of years old) stopped automatically making ice. It worked just fine as long as I manually lowered the sensor arm on the ice maker after every batch of ice. I found more than one reference online to the exact same problem in the exact same model refrigerator that was caused by a magnet inside the unit coming dislodged - easily repaired by reattaching the magnet. I explained all this when I requested service. When the tech arrived, he indicated that he saw those notes, but didn't put any store in things found on the internet and that you just had to replace the unit. All this BEFORE even glancing at the ice maker. He took one brief look at the OUTSIDE of the unit and said that it needed to be replaced. He looked up the cost of the unit and said it would be $320. When I questioned him about maybe just taking a look inside checking for the magnet, he became belligerent, then just left the house in a huff. He brought no tools into the house with him, only a tablet with which to check the cost of a replacement unit. He was in my house a total of 10 minutes, if that. He had NO interest in even evaluating if the unit could be repaired, he only wanted to charge me for the more costly replacement. read more

I'm glad others have had a good experience with Appliance Champion, and up to this point, my experiences have been good. Unfortunately, the last visit was a total fail. Our old Kenmore refrigerator was freezing in the freezer compartment, but not cooling sufficiently in the refrigerator section. Our service tech took quick look and said it needed a defrost kit, and that the charge would be $418 (maybe $480, can't remember). We passed, but had him replace the leaking icemaker in our other fridge while we considered our options. I decided to do a little troubleshooting on my own. I tested the fan in the freezer compartment and it worked. The defrost heating element had continuity, and the defroster thermostat showed continuity after putting it in the ice bin of my other refrigerator for a while. Delving deeper into my internet research, I learned that if the air passages to or from the freezer were blocked that it would keep the refrigerator section from cooling. In my case, they were completely iced over. I unplugged the unit and let it thaw out. The refrigerator is now working fine. It did not need any parts, just someone willing to take the time to figure out what was really wrong. Furthermore, I was able to figure out the reason that it iced over in the first place; the adjustable air flow attenuator between the freezer and refrigerator compartments was stuck in the closed position. I was able to fix that without any parts in a few minutes. So, either the technician did not know enough to check for ice blockage, was too lazy to do so, was not being honest with me, or all three. In any event, their credibility with me is entirely shot at this point, which is sad. I will have to look elsewhere for competent, reliable appliance service. read more

Very disappointed in the service... I had two completely separate issues with my washing machine. One issue was fixed on the first visit, but they did not fix the other issue (An IE error which involves water pressure). They said if it goes away no problem, if not we may have to replace a board which is very expensive. The pricing was not correctly explained to me. It is a $300+ part. They scheduled another appointment, which I LEFT WORK to be home for and in the last 20 minutes of the window they called to ask if they can reschedule because they don't have the part yet... EXCUSE ME?? Why could you not have figured that out before setting the appointment?? He showed up for 5 minutes after I complained about it to double check and then let me know he would come back with the part. Waste of time.. They ended up coming back another time and replacing it, which then STILL DID NOT fix the problem I came to find out days later. From the beginning of setting up that appointment I told them that I didn't feel that is what would fix the issue as it is a water pressure issue. FINALLY, on the THIRD visit all of a sudden the water valve was checked and it was very dirty/had build up and needed to be replaced... Why was this not discovered on the FIRST VISIT??? So they made us purchase a $300+ part for no reason, and then had the nerve to charge us an additional $67 for something that they didn't catch on the first visit. The tech came out to do a diagnostic on my washer , was there about 15 min . Basically gave me a ( well it's maybe this maybe that ? ) quoted a 400$ repair , Didn't give a break down of parts prices , whether the repairs could be done right then or a trip to get parts was needed . On 9/4/2018 tech came to diagnose noisy fan motor and ice build up in Samsung Refrig. The temperature sensor was replaced costing me $356+ and the tech dropped a tool on a shelf breaking the shelf. Today, 13 months later the temp sensor and evaporator had to be replaced again , this time by a Samsung authorized tech. The tech said the sensor was not properly installed, actually it was replaced in a "cut corners" method. Tried to reach Appliance Champion by phone and calls would not go thru. Next time I need appliance repair I will go directly to authorized repair site. read more

Don't use these folks. Had a problem with my dryer. Called them on a Monday. They came out promptly and after checking it out they said they would have to order the part. They called me the next Monday and said the part was in BUT! they wouldn't come out to install it till Wednesday. You would figure I'd be first in line since I'd been waiting a week. So, we make an appointment for 8-10 on Wednesday. No show by 1000 so I call. They told me they had put someone in front of me and would be there later. There are a lot of appliance repair companies out there to choose from. We usually buy a warranty through the store location that we have purchased our appliance from. We have had to have this warranty "company" (Lowes) come out now twice to fix our frigidair we purchased through Lowes. 2 Times in one month. Now my fridge is cracked and I can't pull out the ice maker! THANK GOD we found Appliance Champion a 2nd opinion 3rd party come out and tell us that the "warranty" company did not install it properly which is why it is still broken. I will NEVER EVER go through this again. I will always call APPLIANCE CHAMPION first! They knew instantly when they pulled the ice maker out that it was repaired incorrectly. They are even helping me deal with the warranty appliance company telling me what I needed to say to them. Unreal to me that u spend a lot of money through Lowes Best Buy etc...but they use subpar companies to come out and break things not repair them. Very frustrating. I have to keep scheduling my time around this subpar company (Lowes). This Appliance Champion is a family owned company and I love that one of the owners personally came out to help look at my fridge. Even when I called to ask Appliance Champion about this they new I already had a warranty company I was using. They set upfront expectations with me and exceeded all of them. Beware....I have used Appliance Champion a couple times for repairs in the last 2 or 3 years with no problems or issues. But recently used them for a "warranty repair". 1 year parts and labor as I was told by the tech. Well this is were it gets interesting. Tech said he needed to order the part...makes sense. After several (1 week) failed attempts to contact someone with direction or even a simple update, I finally got in contact with the parts mgr? I was told this part is no longer in stock or being made by the mfg. I found several OEM and brand name replacements on the internet for sale, including the name brand manufacturers part. I have attempted to call and discuss my situation for 3 weeks with the owner, Detra? But she will not accept or return my calls. 6 weeks later and I decided to write this review. I guess Appliance Champion is not the Champion of honoring their "warranty".....Good Luck if you decide to use them and have to rely on their "warranty repair" within the 1st year of repairs. read more
