I told him I would rather just buy a new refrigerator. He collected his fee and left. I proceeded to order a new controller board that I found online for $89 plus tax and shipping, assuming I could install it myself. I have not received the controller board, so I don't know whether my foray into refrigerator repair has been a total boondoggle or not. I will buy a new fridge if I have to.
