Anyways, numerous vendors gather in the field owned my Crystal Farms to sell their veggies, fruits, meats, frozen meals, breads, mushrooms, seasonings, yogurts, pastries, flowers, and items handmade by a seamstress. While you meander among the tents you can listen to fiddlers or singers while sipping coffee from a local coffee truck. Just make sure to grab a scone or cookie to nibble on with it to complete the experience. There is also a flower garden across the street that you can walk over to admire.

While the winter market is smaller than the summer market, it still managed to fill the gymnasium at the girl's academy. We came late in the day, and many vendors apologized for how picked over they were, but we still managed to fulfill a good portion of our shopping needs. I'd say the score of the day was the dilly beans I came across as we were about to leave. I'm sure I scared the poor fella as I quickly grabbed the jar and excitedly handed him the money. I'll probably have to make the 40 mile trip next Saturday in hopes of replenishing my pickled green bean dreams.

We like providing them to our VRBO guests too. We do wish they would move Hootenanny's Bread to the south end of the market near Dharma Farms and Kelly Bros beef-- it would reduce the congestion from the long lines and make the "main street" of the market more enjoyable. The market moves indoors with fewer vendors in November-- being in the historic freight shed is a little more crowded but also cozy as the winter months progress. And our freezer is never without a Mainely Poultry pot pie or two, some haddock "burgers", or a Chase Farms apple pie. It's our kids (and their kids) favorite activity when they visit.

Didn't have to walk too far to the next and you didn't feel like you were on top of people either. Parking can be a challenge if you can't walk far, especially with the main street construction happening near Bull Moose/Tontine Mall (September 2025). Omg, so very delicious. I am a huge sausage snob and eat 90% local. Sad to say most local sausages that I've tried have been on the lean side, so they cook up on the dry side. These sausages were juicy and very flavorful. The lamb sausage was out of this world, the hot Italian was perfect and the n'duja was a fantastic flavor-bomb. Broad Arrow meats are by far some of the best around. Once the new space is finished, I will happily drive the 45 minutes to dine there. I can't wait! Sigh...
