What a joy it is when you find someone on Yelp who lives up to the hype and truly earns their glowing reviews! I contacted Tony several weeks ago about maintenance for my Genuine Buddy 50 moped. Tony was immediately responsive and we jumped on a call after a few messages both on Yelp and via text. I explained what I wanted looked over on my moped and we penciled in a date for Tony to come over to take a look. A few scheduling conflicts occurred and we needed to reschedule our appointment a few times but Tony was accommodating and we finally made the appointment happen today. Tony immediately got to work on my moped taking a look at the electrical switch that was malfunctioning and identifying the source of the problem. He also inspected the carburetor and cleaned it out after I told him the kick start didn't work consistently. That seemed to do the trick and my moped now manually starts perfectly. Tony also tightened my brakes and throttle and put some needed air in my tires. He made sure to give me several pointers throughout so I was able to develop a better understanding on some of my moped's basic functions for future reference. My regular Vespa mechanic was not available and I lucked out by finding Tony and his mobile service. I needed a new fuel line and an oil change, which were done quickly and efficiently. He also took the time to check other critical components that would improve the performance of my bike and increase its longevity. Tony even fixed the pesky mirror that I have had to tighten umpteen times over the last few months. While the work was being done over the course of 1.5 hours, I got a valuable education on all things Vespa, most of which I had not heard before. Tony is reliable, on-time, professional, courteous, friendly and extremely knowledgeable given that he grew up riding and working on bikes. While other mechanics I have worked with charge a little bit less, Tony delivers a lot of value at a fair price and you feel like you have a reliable and honest mechanic for life no matter what issue arises. This review is well overdue but I need to give Tony his flowers! I bought a 1981 Yamaha QT50 off Facebook marketplace as my first venture in to the land of mopeds. It's been a dream of mine to have one, but I possess no technical or mechanical knowledge with 2 stroke engines (or any engine). I called and left a message with questions about getting my scooter serviced. Tony called me back in less than 24 hrs and we set an appointment. It was easy and quick. Tony came out and serviced my Amigo Azul scooter that would start. I had it sitting in the garage for a while without starting and I tried everything I found online from a new battery to a new spark plug. I found Tony to be fair, honest and reliable. He met and exceeded expectations to fix an old Vespa that had been dormant for over 5 years, barely working but in nearly perfect condition. I called Tony to get an idea on where we could start, how his services work and how he comes to you. Given that the scooter wasn't working, this service was perfect for what I needed. He also was no frills, stating that he doesn't up-charge by trying to fix things that are already in working condition. This candor can be particularly helpful when you're learning about what could be wrong, and know very little about carburetors. After basic maintenance service, which was done at reasonable cost - he changed the oil, checked the spark plug, tires and cleaned the carburetor. While he did his best to clean the carb, it was stuck from being inactive for over 5 years. I think it's safe to say, he found a solution within 10 minutes, didn't ask for extra money, and was able to procure the part for me and have it installed earlier than expected! What a sweet victory to now have a working, and well conditioned Vespa thanks to Tony! First off, I did not have my moped serviced by Applebox, but I wanted to speak to the customer service when I called to ask about it. I've been calling several scooter, moped, and motorcycle shops in the area, trying to find help with my electric moped to no luck. So many of the people that I call are rude, condescending, cut me off, and get angry with me for even asking if they can service my moped. When I called Applebox, they were very kind in telling me they couldn't help me, but they could take my info and let me know if somebody else can. Tony is a true pro, I had the utmost confidence in him tuning up my scooter ('08 Yamaha Vino). With local offerings, especially on the Westside, Tony is a cut above the rest. Local shops all around LA were quoting me the same, if not higher rates, plus transport... as my battery was stolen and couldn't move the scooter. They also couldn't schedule until about 2 weeks out, Tony was able to accommodate in just a few days and worked to fit it in between his existing appointments. Got my scooter running at 3000miles like it was at 300miles. He stripped it down to the frame, tuned everything and put it back together in less than an hour. A few additional items were needed that he didn't have on-hand, but Tony was extremely helpful through the follow up process and gave clear guidance on how to handle -- new battery swap and tires (he has local referrals for whatever he can't handle in a mobile capacity). He concluded the service with a helpful action plan on future maintenance and service schedule, which was very reasonable and not in the least bit "salesy" or "pushy" for future appointments. Acquired a scooter that needed service didn't have time so I figured I would call these guys, called left a voicemail for a quote, was returned phone call week later, agreed on oil and basic maintenance service' since scooter has been sitting for years. Came to your address in his pickup with a couple tools and works off the street, serviced the scooter was charged $250 for "cleaning/rebuild" carburetor topped off oil and checked spark plug & electrical check. Was also recommend to change tires soon but he recommend his buddy's shop. Overpriced for 50cc scooter service, couldn't even give him a tip. Basically charged over $100 labor charge. Overall scooter runs more responsive but i did lose my top speed for some reason. read more

His attention to detail and communication and educating his clients is five stars! First of all, one must listen and be open to the information. And not challenge the professional. I don't believe anything Haas is complaining about. I've known Tony for a long time and he is always communicated upfront and honest regarding his business. Never once did I feel that he was unknowledgeable. I rather have someone of his expertise on ALL levels who has more than enough experience hands on to tell me what I need for my motorbike. Haas can Google all he wants, and can challenge the situation. Considering he's not "smart" to understand. For me everything was superb that I have experience with Tony! One must be on drugs and not clear in the head to understand what is told to them not to understand the experts expertise. Everything Haas has complained about it is an utter an absolute lie! After posting it, Tony reached out to me and we had a very honest conversation about what my expectations were and what was possible during the day of service. I appreciate Tony's candor, his professionalism, and the fact that he took the time to find out what went wrong. He even offered me a full refund, but I declined in favor of a half-refund. He did provide a service and again he is very kind and knows exactly what he's talking about. Out of principal I still plan on buying a repair guide, I don't think I should own a thing I don't know how to fix. But if you're looking for an honest mechanic for your ride, there's no one but Tony. PREVIOUS REVIEW W 2 Stars- Now Amended Above Tony is definitely a nice guy and he obviously knows what he's talking about. But I essentially ended up paying $200 for an oil change and consultation. When I first scheduled the appointment I was very clear in that I would need an oil change and tune up. I expected to have more than my oil changed during the encounter but that's honestly all that happened. He pointed out everything that was wrong with my bike, that I would need a new air filter when he took the time to look at it, only to put it right back.
