My sister and I came into this Applebee's this afternoon for lunch at approximately 1:19 PM. We did not receive our order until 2:19 PM. There was a family of six sitting next to us. We receive their food 15 minutes before we got our food. I would not recommend coming into this Applebee's to sit because of the lack of customer service. read more

We were greeted just fine. Our server was nice. The restaurant could use a deep clean. The complaint is about, the ayce shrimp, ribs chicken meal. It takes forever to get refills of the food. When the food does come out it's small portions. Then you order another round and you have to wait too long. My ceasor salad was skimpy. They used the outside of the romaine lettuce. No heart. My son and I stopped for lunch yesterday on our way through Waycross and we had a wonderful meal! Our server, Jeremiah, was great, thank you! My son had the chicken quesadilla and I had the salmon. We were going to order the special from Ruby Tuesday and when I called they were out of ribeyes. Well I tried to call back to place a different order and they didn't answer. Tried 3 times & decided to call Applebee's and we're SO GLAD we did. My husband had the full rack of ribs with garlic mashed potatoes & broccoli and I had the Oriental salad. Also ordered a grilled chicken breast with the order. All of the food was delicious. My husband said they were the best ribs he'd tasted in a very long time, creamy mashed potatoes & flavorful broccoli. Salad was good and the chicken was very good. We haven't been to Applebee's in a while, but decided to go last night. It was a little later than we normally would eat, so that may have been part of the issue. We arrived around 8:45 PM. It wasn't overly crowded. We were greeted and seated fairly promptly but there was a long delay before anyone took our order. We ordered and the food arrived within an acceptable time. The food was decent, but we never saw our server again. No refills. No steak sauce. Nothing. We even had to flag someone down to ask for the check. Food-B+ Service-C or D However, the biggest problem was the crowd. The bar area was full. Looks like those folks had been there for a while. They were slurring their words and cursing worse than I've ever heard. It was a rough looking crowd as well. Female patrons were dressed like they were going to the club. It was definitely not a family friendly atmosphere like I imagined Applebees to be. It was more like a club or bar and I wasn't expecting that at all. Veterans Day dinner and this is where they choose to bring me. Looking forward to dollar-ritahs and a good burger. While initially I was like "Oh man this is going to be good", the sign was there to go somewhere else (no dollar-ritahs). I would soon be reminded of why I choose to see the signs (and should have left but others wanted to stay). But I was quickly on the fast road to disappointment, unfortunately. Initial interaction was good - drinks appeared and initial cheese sticks. Then the order, then the food was out. Good up to the point, which was very apparent, a group of "friends" came in and we (my spouse, sister and me) were dropped like hot potatoes. And even worse, that table was right next to mine. 25 minutes passed and no refills, no mayo, and no 2nd (2 for 1) beers. Nope. Waited another few minutes as I watched our waitress laugh it up with her friends. So I got up and walked in the kitchen and asked for refills and a beer. Unfortunately the last impression is what sticks. Just reminded me of why I have avoided the establishment for the last 5 years. Guess I'll try again in 10 years this time. Our group has been going to Applebee's for years, sitting outside enjoying our Saturdays cheering on our favorite teams. We would've liked service, we would've enjoyed drinks and food BUT you denied us clearly and verbally. My suggestion as a former food service employee: shut down for a week, hire some good employees that will give a damn and own their job. First time we've dined in here. The host was nice and seated up immediately. Our waitress Jesea M. was nice and courteous. She made sure our drinks stayed full and that we didn't need anything. The booth was nice and clean. I ordered the bourbon street chicken. It was delicious not over cooked and not under. Had plenty of flavor. This is the best Applebees I have ever visited, by far. Several of the staff have been working there many many years (some since its opening) and you can tell. They care for the place more than your typical waitstaff and know the product (specialty drinks, appetizers, dinner and drink promotions) really well. The food is still kind of basic... and not exceptional if you're much of a foodie... Id stick to what they know best. But I just have to say, as far as franchises, small towns and limited options are concerned... this Applebees excels and is the coolest, most personable and hometown feeling Applebees Ive ever seen. But expecting a gourmet feast anywhere in Waycross, Georgia probably means that you are in the wrong town. The food is average and one of the strongest sellers is its all day happy hour. Worst experience dining in I've ever had. First off the service was awful, the host boy was hanging off the doorframe and blocking the entrance hardly paying attention. We sat down and when our server finalllyyy came to our table she hardly made eye contact and looked as though she wanted nothing to do with the place or us. After placing our drink orders and getting them we figured our server would come back and take our food order. Nope, she pranced past without so much as a look while unceremoniously dumping our silverware in a pile on the table. About fifteen minutes later we finally get to order, when it comes TWO OF OUR ORDERS WERE WRONG, we were also missing condiments we had asked for and had empty drinks. I got there at 10:50 and was told i could eat outside. Went outside I was told they were closed outside. I got added to the waiting list and was told it would be a bit of a wait. We Waited for an hour and when I went to check they told us the kitchen was now closed. I don't expect great service from this place but that was completely unprofessional. Beautifully done with the redesign, however, the kitchen and service were TERRIBLE! After being seated we didn't see a server for 10 minutes. It took 30 more minutes to place an order and after we did our food didn't come out for over an hour! I was so excited to see my chicken fajita roll up when it came out. Unfortunately, it had been sitting in the warmer for so long it had a crust from the heat lamp on top and the lettuce had congealed inside the wrap. It tasted like heated up leftovers at home.
