Extremely slow service. horrible menu. need to do better in many different ways. won't come back till it gets better.

We often try to look for a Cracker Barrel when we're on the road. We were passing nearby so we decided to stop. You can't go wrong with the food and it is always consistently good. I usually order the country fried chicken and my wife gets the chicken and dumplings. Our food was delicious. Some observations I made during our last couple of stops at locations during our trips: The portions of the sides are now much smaller. The corn bread is smaller and the biscuits are also smaller and not as lite and flavorful as before. The service is OK, but there is no attention to checking on the meals after served and no offers to bring a drink refill or more biscuits. We may start looking for other places to stop. read more

This particular Cracker Barrel Old Country Store is located in Waycross, Georgia and is a good enough stop whether you are looking for a southern inspired meal or just to do some shopping in their retail outlet inspired to capture the ambiance of an old school southern general store. The staff here is friendly and professional and this service only added to my overall experience. I will say that I find breakfast to be the best time to visit Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and my go-to breakfast is their country fried steak with eggs. When you consider that this fo9d is coming from a relatively large restaurant hain, their food is pretty good. I also never miss an opportunity to walk through their store and more often than not, I usually walk out with a purchase. 1 Star because 0 is not an option. The hostess was busing tables as managers walked around checking on no-one, staff clocking out as customers waited to be seated. Had to wait 30 minutes before we had drinks and another 30 minutes to get our food, the meal was just thrown on the plate with no attention to presentation, seems the food was left under a heat lamp too long. The waitress was nice but got busy sweeping while her customers waited and waited and waited. There doesn't seem to be teamwork between kitchen, wait staff and management. The tables and floors are dirty. Management needs to be more involved with customers, perhaps replaced or retrained. The Waycross location is a problem. read more

This is the worst Cracker Barrel I've ever stepped foot in. Hostess took us on a tour of the dining area before pointing out our table. We looked at menus, had drinks and meal decided, but no one ever came to the table. We saw one server cleaning a table, then sweeping. Two others came out, looked in our direction, but continued addressing the tables nearest to the front. After 15 minutes of being ignored, our party agreed to just walk out. It's not like they were going to notice or care anyway. Ambiance was non-existent, not busy and tables waiting for food and drinks. read more

Normally this is one of my favorite places to visit when I want breakfast for dinner. Things started slow when the person seating us had no clue where to put us or who was working (he was filling in for the hostage who called out). Then he put us in the back corner at the smallest table (I'm 6'4" and weigh 240) it was only 4:30 and there was only a dozen tables occupied. It took a bit to be waited on and our waitress was very polite and took our order. Then we hear that there short handed in the kitchen now and it took 25 minutes to get our food, then it wasn't hot and the meat was dry like it was sitting under a heat lamp for some time. We also ordered the peach mimosa but it was bitter and only had a hint of peach to it. I'm chalking this one up to just a bad night. I will be going back but if things start out like it did before we will leave to avoid the headaches. read more

I love getting food from here or any location. It's always fresh and good. However, I have said it time and time again. If you're not going to do curbside service. Then simply don't make it available. To pull in and text that you're here and wait 15-20 more minutes then have to hobble inside for yourself and witness servers and cashiers doing nothing and have to even go to the kitchen to get your food. Is unacceptable. I always tip well. Bc I get it. IRS not an easy job. But their job would be easier if they would just not offer what they're not willing to perform! I mean, it's Cracker Barrel not much changes from location to location except for what I order so please understand, most of my Cracker Barrel reviews are very similar. Cracker Barrel is just the All American Go-To place when I am traveling. I mean, how can you go wrong here. No matter where I am it seems like the people are all the same. We came here for dinner while traveling in Georgia with our friends. My wife and I were with another couple and face it, this is the season of Covid. Signs were on the door and announcements played BUT... there was no mask enforcement that I saw. We were and are always cordially greeted and after a short wait seated. I was facing the entrance to the restaurant and outside of the staff, most people were not wearing masks to walk around. The staff definitely sanitized the tables and chairs between customers very well. We were greeted by an extremely pleasant server. She made sure all was OK and brought us drinks. No matter what you order, the place never disappoints you. I had the Country Fried Chicken and my wife had the broiled chicken breasts. Our friends definitely enjoyed the Chicken Fried Steak and the Fried Shrimp. Everything was and always is very good. It was a smaller menu to make things flow quicker and allow for an easy cleaning between customers. While it was a little bumpy to get everything to the table, I UNDERSTAND the challenges that the wait staff is facing and give them huge KUDOS for the job they do. Abysmal experience, used to eat here 2-3 times a month. Last three experiences have been horrible. Walked out after waiting an hour and 15 minutes for food on Sat. morning. Second time that's happened in last two months. On the third occasion, Had to argue with the manager and refuse to pay for undercooked meatloaf and and chicken and dumplings with no chicken. After previous two failures, decided to give it another try because of the 2 for $20 menu - problem was that that this deal isn't valid on weekends and no one told us until after we ordered. My bad, decided to stay and pay full price and just never got food. Waitress was apologetic, but we went elsewhere. Small thing, maybe not so small, they had no packets of regular sugar for the coffee. Finally, brought me a full bowl, enough for 50+ cups of coffee, which I assume they just threw away. Probably one of the worst CB's in America. They keep giving me free dessert cards for my inconvenience, which I doubt I'll ever use. Hate it, because there are so few breakfast choices in town. Service was all over the place. Our waitress was uneducated on what pork is and recommended honey ham after we asked for "non pork" options. The food was terrible,, oil was burnt and dirty, coke was flat, sweet tea wasn't sweet. The strawberry pancakes didn't even come with the syrup it was supposed to. The coffee was very watered down even after receiving a fresh pot. Thank goodness for Amanda!! She was the only one who knew anything and helped us tremendously! She was kind from the jump and immediately tried to right the wrongs. It was pretty slow and not busy so I was pretty confused why our food took so long. We came here for a late dinner, but the place was still fairly crowded. We did not have to wait very long at all for a table however. We did have to wait for a waitress....a long time. We were beginning to think we would have to ask someone when she finally came over. Professional, but not kind, courteous or helpful....and very rushed. I told her when I ordered I was on a ticket by myself and the other two people were on a ticket. Our food took a long time to come out. I really think it sat in the back for awhile before she brought it. Mine was just barely warm. My sister ordered a baked sweet potato....she got a loaded baked sweet potato which she could not eat because of the marshmallows on top. We didnt see the waitress again to ask her to correct the mistake until the end of the meal. We got our tickets and they were wrong. My meal was put on the double ticket and one of their meals was on alone. No way we were going to get her attention to correct this either, so we just went with it. The food was the same as other cracker barrel's, good solid food, but the delays in getting our food and the poor service gave this experience only 3 stars when other cracker barrel's usually get a 4. read more

Wow DO NOT GO! The food service was awful. The majority of the staff is young and it shows. The waiter/ waitresses were slow to take orders and cook the food. And the food was no better. This is the first time my family and I have gone to a Cracker Barrel and NONE of us finished our food! The coffee tastes like water, you could taste the burnt oil in the food, and the pancakes were extremely dry. The only good waitress in this establishment is Amanda. She helped cater to my family. I have been to this Waycross, GA, location only once, and that will be enough, although I don't live in the area. I was seated at 10:45 am on Saturday, September 24, and my food was served at 11:55. The restaurant was not crowded. While I waited, I saw one parking spot turn over 2 times. My food arrived as I was talking with the manager about the slowness of the service. The sausage in my wife's meal was cold and not cooked completely. After sharing my experience with the staff, my bill was reduced by the amount of our drinks and one serving of eggs. We received an apology from the manager, which he did not seem unaccustomed to offering to customers. Comping the meal after its slowness and uncooked meat would have been better customer service than a reduction of the bill only. read more

The service of this location has went down hill a lot in the last year not worth wasting your money on this location unless they can get some proper training. So, this restaurant has always been good but for some reason last night, the service and food weren't the best as us. My fiancé and I went there to celebrate our 2nd Anniversary of our first date which happened to be there. We expected the usual but turned out that the waitress was very unattentive and distracted even though the place wasn't extremely busy. I literally ate all my food before she ever came back to give me a refill. We had the pot roast and it was mediocre at best. We should've ordered something different like breakfast. After waiting for 20 minutes, we finally got our drinks. It took another 30 to get out food. Chicken tenders were the size of chicken nuggets and dryer than the Sahara desert. Waiter forgot our salads that we were supposed to get with out food, and didn't bring them out till after we were eating. Steak was undercooked, and overall the food was subpar at best. This is the worst Cracker Barrel I've ever visited. We were seated quickly but it took about 20 minutes to get our order taken. I ordered a double cheeseburger with bacon. The food arrived fairly quick but it was wrong. It was a single burger with no bacon. After 10 minutes the waitress finally came by and I made her aware the order was slightly wrong. The missing bacon and 1 extra hamburger pattie missing isn't that big of a deal I just didn't want to be charged for something I didn't receive. 70 cents was discounted from my bill. The food was mediocre at best and the fries were barely warm. We were never offered any refills until we were getting up to leave. The restaurant wasn't even that busy for a Cracker Barrel, there might have been 10 other people in my area. read more

Ordered and payed online so I could get curbside pickup. They said my order would be ready 615 so i got there 6 10 let them know I was there. 635 I went in they can't find my order for a few minutes then it turned up. Cold not even warm. Had to go home and heat it up. That was the reason I got takeout so I would not have to cook. They need management. Will never go back to this one. read more

This is probably my favorite place for home style food. The buttermilk biscuits are great and cornbread is so good.

Waitress "Martaeshia H" was awesome with a great attitude plus doing her job great and the food was A++. The manager also was checking and re-checking on guests making sure all was good. From what I hear, this place has not been open but for a short time so I am sure they are still working things out. They were out of many, many items on the menu. Service was good and while wait was a little bit, it was busy at the time. Food was consistent with other Cracker Barrels. When this restaurant first came to town, it wasn't what I expected out of a Cracker Barrel, but it has significantly improved. The country store is just like the rest, but that's not a bad thing. It's full of souvenirs and novelties for a decent price. The front porch is a great place to sit down and relax and play some checkers. The wait staff is very friendly, and they make sure you feel at home. The tables stay clean, as well as the rest of the restaurant. The food is a little slow about coming out, but it's worth the wait. No matter what you order, you'll get a treat that'll have you coming back for more! read more
