    Fun TH-themed entry way
    Mandy C.

We arrived here on an early Sunday eve. after finding our first choice (Traverse City) closed at 3PM. I enjoyed the Terre Haute themed entry way, as well as the other Indiana decor in the dining area. There was no wait and we were seated/attended to promptly by a nice hostess as soon as we entered. Although the menu is pretty meat-heavy, they do offer an Impossible cheeseburger for us veg people. I do wish they offered just one vegetarian entree salad menu option, though. My family member ordered a crispy chicken salad and I stuck with the Impossible burger minus cheese and fries. Taylor, our waitress was courteous and attentive. While waiting for our food, i looked around and realized that while things appeared clean, the atmosphere just seems worn out and dated. There were several spots on the walls, the wood finish on some of the tables was wearing off and the carpet looked worn and wrinkled in spots. This building could definitely use a refresh. Our food arrived quickly and was nicely plated. My family member said her salad was very good. The accompanying breadstick was brought out later as it apparently took longer to bake. My burger was decent, and I especially enjoyed the bun. The fries tasted just a bit stale, as though they'd been reheated. Overall our meal was fine. I'd give them a solid 3.5 if Yelp offered half stars.

Dirty toilet seat and more crud on the floor.

Had dinner at Applebee's on 5/9/2024 at 7:43 pm. The wait staff was very good. The food was soso. The restroom was absolutely filthy. The walls, the toilets, and the floors had built up crud and mold. The floor was sticky, and the trash was overflowing to the floor. Why is no one, like the manager checking on the bathrooms and assigning someone to clean them. If they don't clean the bathrooms, what else don't the clean? I will not be going back there.

After a long day, $5 margaritas and half off apps hit the spot. It's become a small tradition for our class to go here and I always applaud the waiters and waitresses for handling our large group with grace and kindness. This week's waiter was Luke and about ten of us. I usually get the margaritas here but they also have $6 long island and bahama mamas specials on Tuesdays. This time I got the wonton chicken tacos and the tortilla soup. Both were good. I wouldn't order the soup again because it's nothing special. The wonton tacos were better than I had expected. I'd definitely recommend it! Overall, great place for drink specials and cheap food especially after a long day at school and work.

Burnt shrimp and burnt steak on both sides supposedly medium well

Usually not a problem American style food very easy to cook not for sure if the cook was blind or his first day or not. To start off the sweet tea was not sweet at all they don't even offer sweet dew you had to put sugar in it yourself but they're willing to charge you 3.29 for sweet tea on the receipt. Didn't get a picture of the riblet meal that they removed because it was black not even close to being edible. Waitress was nice was not her fault manager took care of our meals as far as re-cooking them. But the meals were still not cooked properly and there was no discount except for the one meal that he removed. The one good thing that came out of it was electric lemonade which apparently the bartender is very well at.

Decent place to have quite meal and drink. Staff are friendly. Bar is a cool place to hang out and watch some food ball. They have variety in menu including low calorie food. They have inexpensive dessert to try - Brownie with ice cream which is delicious . Lighting is too low at night otherwise it's good place for dinner and drinks.

    Blue Ribbon Brownie Yum!

It's part college bar, part live music venue, part sports bar with golf simulators, and part wing/grill restaurant. The concept sounds fun on paper, but in practice it comes across dated and unfocused. The food was the biggest disappointment. I went in expecting solid bar food--nothing fancy, just reliable wings and fried staples. What arrived was inconsistent at best. Two wings were undercooked, and one wasn't even battered on one side. At first I assumed it was frozen food quality, but it honestly felt more like a lack of kitchen consistency and oversight. If you're hungry, the food is edible, but it's not something I'd go out of my way for. Service didn't help the experience. The bartender spent a noticeable amount of time sitting at a table socializing rather than checking on guests, which made the place feel inattentive despite not being overwhelmingly busy. The atmosphere clearly caters to the college crowd, and to be fair, I can see why students would enjoy it--drinks, music, and a casual hangout spot. It's probably not going out of business anytime soon because it fills that niche. But if you're expecting a polished sports bar, quality grill food, or a standout dining experience, this likely won't meet those expectations. After reading other reviews, the "hit or miss" reputation seems accurate. My recommendation: stop in for a beer first. If the vibe is good that night, stay. If not, cash out and move on. If wings are your goal, there are better options in town. Overall, not terrible--but definitely lackluster and not a destination spot.

The building itself is over a 100 years old and is on the National Register of Historic Places, this helps its cool vibe. We came in at 12:30 on a December Thursday, it was absolutely packed, what appeared to be multiple team/holiday gatherings. We were told a 20 minute wait, but we eventually were able to find a seat at the bar in less time. With as busy as it was, I was concerned food coming out may be impacted, but it came out quick. Allie was our bar tender, she was very friendly and attentive, shout out to her. First I started with a local beer, wango tango. I would call it a hazy pale ale. It was perfect for me. Had grilled shishito peppers. It was my first time to ever eat one, I loved them. I enjoyed them better without the sauce, but the wasabi Mayo did provide a nice kick. I ate the fried wontons with the sauce. We shared the crab Rangoon flatbread. It did not disappoint, and had a healthy serving size. I would get it again and again! Then I went with a comfort food, fried bologna sandwich. It came with a side, but the sandwhich alone was enough. I added a close pic of the sandwich, it had two thick cut pieces of meat. Impressive. It came with melted cheese, that was a twist for me, but I wanted to try it the way it was on the menu first. I eventually added ketchup, lol. We now have a new place to stop as we're passing by on 70. If I lived closer, i definitely would be a regular!!!

It's dated in the best possible way: dim lighting, worn-in character, familiar faces, and that unmistakable local hangout atmosphere where regulars clearly outnumber first-timers. The highlight here is the Tweety Burger, and honestly, that's the reason to come. It reminded me immediately of the classic Midwest style you'd find at places like Minor-Dunn in Highland, Indiana. The patty is smashed thin and cooked flat on the grill, giving it those crispy edges and deep, savory flavor you only get from a well-seasoned griddle that's seen years of use. It tastes homemade--not engineered, not trendy, just a straightforward burger done right. You can tell they take their time with the food. Nothing feels rushed or mass-produced. The burger comes out hot, flavorful, and satisfying without trying to be gourmet or overcomplicated. No towering Instagram presentation--just a solid, honest burger that delivers exactly what you want from a local pub. Service matched the vibe perfectly. The staff were personable, welcoming, and genuinely friendly in that small-town way that makes you feel less like a customer and more like a guest stopping by a neighborhood spot. Charlie's isn't flashy. It's not modern. And if you're looking for upscale dining or trendy décor, this isn't the place. But if you want an authentic mom-and-pop tavern experience with a burger that locals clearly treat as a tradition, it's worth the stop. Best advice: stick with the Tweety Burger. Don't overthink the menu. Order it, enjoy the atmosphere, and experience a piece of local Terre Haute character. Not a destination restaurant--but absolutely a solid local classic you should try at least once.
