We waited 40+ minutes after ordering for a side salad and gave up after over an hour of waiting for our food. Went to Applebee's at 4 Pm on Veterans Day...party of 3 (2 of which were Veterans). Got seated right away, got our menus, then we were invisible. 2-3 waiters/waitresses walked by us...5 min, 10 min, 15 min went by and nobody came so we left...never again! read more

Always come here doe half priced apps after 9pm with friends. Chill place with decent service and never too crowded. I can usually get seated right away. Good 2 for $20 options and car side to go is so nice when I don't feel like sitting in. read more

Ok we went on a Friday night real busy got in and sat down we have been here many times and the service is topically ok it has its ups and downs as all places do. As I look around I feel like the staff should dress more professional I see employees wearing blue jeans with street shoes shirts untucked phones in back pockets some of them on the phones. A few standing around not doing much. I feel they could grab a towel and clean things as they wait till a customer comes in but the young generation that's what they do cause they have no manager out on the floor that I can see to tell them any different. The food is ok I got the all you can eat and it seems that they are slow on bringing the refills out but it's the typical slowness of here. Wasn't very busy and the server was super friendly and kept our drinks refilled. The fries and chicken was so dry and old tasting. Onions rings tasted like it was old oil they fried in. The mashed potatoes were good my roommate said his buger was good but agreed the fries was gross. A couple weeks ago the steak from Applebee's was really good. So I don't understand. We were a party of 2 and sat all by ourselves in a smaller part of the restaurant..which we enjoyed. For some reason they sat a party of 3 next to us, when the room was empty. Clearly could have sat the other party farther away. Our waiter, Riley, was young and very attentive and friendly. The food was good. Soup and salad and also a grilled chicken salad. I asked for a sample of a different lemon dressing that I have never had before, and it was nice to taste it before having it with my salad. We were not on a time crunch, which was good, b/c the food took a little while. The table next to us were on their lunch break and their food was taking too long, and one item they ordered came out wrong...fried chicken instead of grilled I think. The restaurant was clean. The 2 young hostess gals didn't wear a mask, nor did the waiter. The sign states mask required. We always wear our masks. We will recommend this Applebees. read more

My friends came from Canada and we planned to eat at Applebees on the south side, and when we went in, immediately noticed most of the tables were incredibly tall or it required 3 steps to a different area where the tables were lower. When asking the server if there was a table for a wheelchair, she barely looked at me, she pointed, walked us to a table, then pointed to it and walked away. She was rude, had no customer service, did not move a chair to make space for my wheelchair, and did not even come right back when we moved down. The atmosphere was so loud it was hard to talk, and it was dark. Between the atmosphere and the rude server who didn't even have the decency to make eye contact, I would never recommend it to someone who wanted any ability to have a good customer service experience or the ability to hear your friends talk. The TVs were incredibly loud as were the people trying to talk over them. So we decided to leave and go to the one on Fort Harrison where they have real customer service and you can hear those you side with. read more

Good service, but the food is absolute garbage. Burbon chicken and shrimp coated in so much garlic it burns your mouth and coats it with a skanky film. Worst dish Ive ever had served anywhere. My daughters steak looked like it was a leftover from another dish with the uneaten portion being recooked and reserved. I had to send it back, I was afraid to allow my daughter eat the ugly, trashy thing. They did bring my daughter a better steak, but overall this place just SUCKS! Microwave plastic wrapper definitely did not look appetizing. How the cook and then the waiter, too, could have overlooked that the mac n cheese (at least the wrapper said Kraft) was about one third spilled out of the wrapper, and the complete microwave bag, with vent holes punched in (on top of and clearly visible and readable) the individual serving dish, I have no clue. My husband, sweet soul, said maybe it was intentional so people would know they used a name brand, like Kraft. The waiter looked chagrined, gave a half hearted apology and picked it up, saying it should not have been left, etc. So, that means the dish was not even dumped out of the bag and stirred by the cook...and the waiter did not even look at the plating - what a first! Aside from that, my thai shrimp salad was very good. After hubby had a couple bites of burger (good but we had to request 3 ketchup bottles before the waiter brought one that had any ketchup in it) he realized that the pineapple had been left off. He requested no chile sauce, but wanted the pineapple and cheese...made this perfectly clear. After the plastic bag and no sincere apology or appearance by a manager, we passed on complaining about the omission ... thought he might get nuked pineapple in a bag. Just in case a manager happens to read this, we were there at about 9:10 pm, Wednesday, Sept 23 and had a male waiter - we sat by the windows on the left as you enter the restaurant. Since Applebees is open until midnight and does a good appetizer business all night, as well as food, we cannot excuse the cook and the waiter due to the somewhat late time as the place was to be open for another 3 hours and people were ordering and being served food, not just beverages. We did leave gratuity as the food we ate was flavorful, and the waiter was not rude, just not overly observant or enthusiastic ---- but I am rethinking potential kitchen conditions for this establishment. We did not even see a manager walking the floor or we would have responded when asked how the food was! read more

The food there is good (for an Applebees), it's the service that has never been that good. I really enjoy their pretzel stick appetizer, but the second to last time I ordered it the bartender (I ordered from the bar) gave me hardly a dallop of cheese. After I pointed out that it was enough for two out of my four pretzel sticks she told me that other servers were being too generous with the cheese. When I offered to pay extra for more cheese she told me that she would then have to charge me for two appetizers. She had the attitude of someone who hated her job. I've been there about a dozen times in the last year and a half, and like I said the food isn't all that bad (I usually order boneless wings, burgers, or pretzels sticks) it's just the service that sucks. read more

Obviously, this is a quintessential American chain restaurant. So, as far as the service is concerned, they certainly have their ups and downs. The food is nothing special either. However, given the relatively limited choice in good local restaurants in Terre Haute, I occasionally find myself coming here. Our drinks took an inordinate amount of time to arrive, considering they were not busy. Two Caesar salads arrived with rotten lettuce mixed throughout. Replacement salads were fresh and excellent. Manager brought them out and apologized. Entrees were acceptable. A second glass of wine was ordered, and took over 15 min and another visit by the manager to arrive. If you want good food and a neighborhood atmosphere this is the place to come in North Terre Haute. Even though this is a chain store the atmosphere is great with cultural diversity and an eagerness to please. The management is great especially the addition of Jenn. If you want optimal service with a smile and someone who will go above and beyond most, sit in the bar when Jess is working on Thurs. and the weekends. Otherwise it's typical Applebee's food, which is not that bad for a chain restaurant. read more

we had my grandsons 17th birthday party there yesterday, there was 17 people in our party, our waitress was wonderful I forgot to get her name, but she was right on it from the start to the finish, all the food was great, as soon as we walked in the door Applebees was great took our cake to the back & after everyone ate & table was cleaned she bought the cake out & candles was lite, she did a very good job & the 2 managers that I had spoke to a few days before the party was very helpful & nice, Thank you Applebees for A great & wonderful Birthday party for my grandson & yes we will do this again Thank you Janice read more
