My family and I went to Applebee's located at 1206 N. Main Street Suffolk, VA 23434 We was greeted by a young guy who seated us at our table. We waited about 15 minutes before two people who showed up at our table the bartender girl and a waitress they decided to discuss back and forth who would take care of us, the waitress gave up and let the bartender take our order. I call her a bartender because she was working as bartender than a waitress. This bartender/ waitress name was Jessica E. She only took our drink order and it took about 15 minutes to get our drinks, she left without taking our order for food, came back 15 minutes later and took our food order. It took about 30 minutes to get our food, but during this time of waiting for our food we didn't get any refills on our drinks and no silverware to eat our food when it got there, she waited to get these items for us after our food arrived, and it took about 8 minutes to get our drinks and silverware to eat our food with. After we was done eating we asked for a to go box for my son's food that he didn't finish and the bill, and that took 10 to 15 minutes to get it. When Jessica brought the bill and left it on the table, I signed it and got tired of waiting for her to come back, so I gave it to the only employee that I meet on my way out, and that was the guy who seated us at our table. After I went out the front door Jessica came out after me wanting to know what I did with the bill and I told her who I gave it to. Jessica was more of a bartender than a waitress when we were there. We was at this location on 9/6/19. my bill's times says 8:01 p.m. on it, and we spent $65.07 for three people to eat. This is high price to pay for poor service.... read more

My family and I went to this location last week after not coming here for a few months due to bad service hoping for a better experience. But unfortunately it was worse. After my husband had to leave due to waiting so long and having to go to a meeting we had boxed his food up we received our food. No one ever took our dirty plates which sat on our table throughout the whole dinner and were still there when we left. Never received any refills on our drinks and we were there almost 2 hours. This is the WORST Applebee's I have ever been to. It took forever for someone to get us a table. ( There were barely any customers there ). They gave my friend and I flat sprites TWICE. The first time they gave me my drink, it had a lint in it. The plate with my food had not been washed very good. It had coleslaw left from someone else's dinner. The bathrooms are horrible. There was water everywhere and I was unable to use the bathroom because of it. I do not recommend this Applebee's, specifically, to anyone! read more

We ordered our food on DoorDash because we arrived at our hotel late. Our burgers were completely frozen in the middle. I had to order a lettuce wrap because I am gluten free. My lettuce was so covered in grease it was inedible and the entire bottom of the plastic container was full of grease. We didn't receive any napkins or plastic ware. My husband's burger (the whiskey burger) was missing its cheese and onions so we paid for a higher priced burger that just had whiskey sauce on it. read more

How can you give a place a negative star? My wife and have a number of gift cards for Applebees and usually enjoy having lunch there, but the one in Suffolk just plain sucks. The service was bad and the server couldn't handle but one table at a time. When we first walked in, no hostess and when we finally got a table we had to wait for someone to address us. When he finally bought utensils to the table, he gave us one napkin for 2 of us. We finally got him to bring our drinks (1 water and 1 iced tea). We ordered the 2 for $20 which came with salads and he even screwed that up bringing my wife the wrong one. The meal was so so and looked nothing like the photo. The green beans I ordered were undercooked and had no flavor at all. We had to wait for the check longer than normal and he didn't return to get was owed him above the gift card. I finally had to leave my table and snag him just so we could pay the remainder. A call to the manager is in order as well as a call to corporate. read more

THE ABSOLUTE WORST SERVICE EVER. Wife and I was here Sunday evening around 8:30 pm. Not crowded at all. was immediately escorted to table. 15mins later someone comes to table for our order. ordered SPINACH + ARTICHOKE DIP appetizer. Another 15mins goes by and then told they did not have any. Upset but hungry, we change to French Onion soup. something that resembles french onion soup comes out in about 10mins and is luke warm at best. I was thinking about a rare steak all week. My friend and I went to the Applebee's on N Main St in Suffolk only to be told by both the server and the manager that he was not going to cook my steak like I wanted it. I asked for it to be seared on both sides and served to me extremely rare with a purple, cool/cold center. I have ordered my steak this way for about 57 years and never been told that it could not/would not be cooked my way. It came out medium rare with a pink center and it was like chewing old, dry leather. I sent it back, and it was taken off my bill, but I wanted a steak the way I like it. My friend said hers was tough, but she ordered hers well done. She also ordered a loaded baked potato that wasn't, but they took that off the bill as well. Even the perfect Margaritas were awful--too sweet and very strong on mix. All-in-all it was a lousy meal and even the service was slow. This location in Suffolk has been going downhill for years. We won't go back. This was the first time any restaurant had ever refused to cook my steak the way I wanted it. I'm tired of people telling me I have to have a steak cooked to an internal temperature of 110'. It's not hamburger for crying out loud. We won't go back. We went to this location and what a joke. It wasn't busy. The waitress took our order but took almost 30 minutes to bring our drinks. She finally came back 45 minutes later with our appetizer which was incomplete and cold. It didn't have all the toppings but was told by the young man that brought it out, he would be bringing them. When we asked her about silverware or plates she told us something about she will bring them back which took another 15 minutes. She brought out the entree but never brought out the toppings for the appetizer. When we look at the fajitas they were cold. I could touch the not so hot plate with my hand. No smoke anywhere! Every single time i have ordered take out from this specific location they have messed something up. From big things like completely forgetting an entire meal or forgetting portions if my meal(the shrimp in the shrimp and sirloin). This is the worst Applebee's I have ever been to. It consistently takes over an hour to prepare food regardless of how many customers there are or how few items you order. I do DoorDash in Suffolk and out of the 11 times I have done deliveries from there I have only made the delivery on time or within 15 minutes of expected delivery time twice, every other time it takes 15-45 minutes past expected delivery times. They are never honest either, I get told consistently they are almost done or only 20 minutes left then it turns into 35-45 minutes. I would never order delivery from here! read more

My friend and I went to the AppleBees on 12036 N.Main Street in Suffolk , Va.23434 on 10/16/19. We were greeted by a young lady with no personality whatsoever . She acted as though we were interrupting her. We got seated put our order in. The table was sticky from spilled drinks. She came over with a wet rag to wipe down table.. Lord knows where she got the rag from but it was not clean. Other places I visit spray the tables down and wipe it off... My steak I asked to be cooked medium and was well done and dry. At Applebee's, the food is rarely exceptional, but the pricing always is just that. It always feels like you are being nickeled and dimed at this place, but not exactly. OK let me set the scene for you I walk in and waited 20 minutes to be greeted at the door of A Applebees. During that time I noticed that about 40% of the staff was sitting in the back corner looking at us and talking while playing with their phones. I started to realize that they were waiting for us to leave when we were finally greeted we were seated at a table with trash and to go boxes still on the table. I moved the trash to the back of the table so me and my girlfriend could have enough space to eat (silly mistake). My pregnant server could not care less about the trash That sat there for the rest of the evening she never apologized about it or removed it she does not care about good service All she wants is for customers not to come in. Not a single part of this trip was worth the $80 bill. The waiter, who never audibly said his name, was very lackadaisical. He did not pay attention to the table and continually let drinks sit empty. One person in our party ordered a spicy shrimp and watermelon salad and received it with chicken and ranch dressing instead of the shrimp and special dressing. Who knew? Applebee's the new steak and chophouse in town? I had the new pork chop with a maple butter glaze, garlic green beans and the new mashed sweet potatoes. OMG! It was to die for. My friend had a 12 oz steak cooked on the grill with crispy potatoes with cheese on them. The steak was juicy and delicious. The Applebee's in Suffolk has changed a lot. They have changed their menu and it's very good. They have double crunch buffalo wings!! They are delicious!! We visited Applebee's in Suffolk last night for the second time in a month. The first visit we were very unhappy but I feel as though every restaurant deserves a second chance, especially a big-name chain like this one. Our visit last night confirmed our initial impression... We arrived at 6:30 p.m. and were told there was a 5-10 minute wait. I used the bathroom to find that there were many tables available but overheard the staff tell another waiting couple that the wait time to be seated was in order to allow the wait staff to "catch up". We were seated 10 minutes later and had to wait another 10 minutes for drink orders. We asked to immediately put in our food order since we had plenty of time to decide what we wanted. Our drinks (water) were delivered about 5 minutes later and our appetizer followed a short time later. The boneless wings were decent. What followed was an hour-long wait for our food order. Our waiter avoided our table probably because he was embarassed it was taking so long to feed us and wanted to avoid the situation rather than apologize or explain the delay; we were not the only table waiting although the restaurant was only half full. Our food was finally delivered and it was very apparent that our food had been left under a heat lamp for far too long. My rice was dry and hard. My son's wings were left for so long that the buffalo sauce was no longer wet but dry; no mess when picking them up as the sauce was dry to the touch. My wife's pasta was half moist and half dried to the point where you could break the pasta instead of cutting it. Our waiter never checked on us and finally brought us more water after we had finished eating the little bit of food that was actually suitable to eat. Overall it was a terrible experience and we spent 1 hr and 45 minutes of wasted time. This experience mirrored our first visit to this Applebee's although the first visit our food was marginally better; service and wait time was the same. I wished the table next to us luck in hopes that they would soon get their food as their wait time was up to over an hour and no food in sight. Unfortunately we learned the hard way to avoid this Applebee's but I hope this review saves you both time and money when considering a meal here. It's unfortunate because Applebee's is typically a decent choice for a fair meal; not true of this location though. Avoid this place... read more
