This place has gone through a transformation in the last three months. They have new management new White staff, I'm thinking this was a corporate rescue. The place is cleaner. It smells better and the service is top-notch. I would almost bet that my server came down from corporate. She was very pretty and very attentive and was taking care of five tables at once and did not ever break a sweat or miss a beat. She was very very very effective. Now owned to the review of the food. In honor of the restaurants, new management and new staff and total new attitude I decided I would try to new menu items. One of them is the pickles spears fried just like you know fried pickles, but they cut them long and made them in the shape of french fries and season them with Tajin. They come with a queso sort of dressing and let me tell you it is top notch. It was really really good. Mine came out blistering hot which means they had just come out of the fryer, which is the only way they would be any good the delicious dill pickle flavor is inside of a crunchy shell of some sort of breading, the Taheen is dusted over it and the spicy dressings for dipping, I saved some of the dipping sauce for my french fries, which came out next with my burger that was cut in half and sitting in a pool of multi cheese. I can't remember what they call the darn thing but the picture of it will be in my review. The burger was your basic really good burger with some honey mustard sauce on it Which sounded peculiar when I ordered it, but it's exactly what it needed. My only suggestion is that they put the cheese on top of the fries not under them I know that's not part of the description on the menu, but it would've been appreciated because then you would've got cheesy fries with your cheesy grilled cheese hamburger floating in a puddle of cheese yeah I know if you don't like cheese don't order this OK That would be my one instruction. I washed all of mine down with a Dr Pepper. It was really good. Everything was delightful. I mean you gotta consider that it is in Applebee's, with all that that suggests, but this one has gone through a rebirth and is much better than I remember from say three or four months ago when I ate here last. The main reason I eat here is because I stay at the Hampton Inn that is exactly 100 yards behind it and an easy walk across the parking lot and I don't have to go anywhere. Although I didn't notice there's a ruby Tuesday across the road that I may have to try next time. Value for a dollar check good food check not particularly exciting food but something you won't get anywhere else for sure I mean, who else is making fried dill pickles spears with Tahin dust on them.. read more

We love to eat here 3 to 4 times a month. But they keep the bar area so dang cold you can't enjoy the food. We always notice everyone around us walking outside to get warm or get a coat. Turn the air to a comfortable level for crying out loud ! read more

We made a spontaneous stop for dinner and it did the trick. We were seated right away and we took our time ordering off the menu. It wasn't busy when we went in on an early Friday evening, so it was nice not to have a wait. We got the mozzarella sticks to share and I got the fiesta lime chicken for dinner. The chicken was dry and I ate what I could. I didn't mention to the waitress since I was already a couple Coronas in and it didn't bother me enough to have it sent back. Our waitress was attentive and very sweet. She came back periodically to check on us and to see if we need anything. This experience was so bad me and my grandfather as well as baby brother went here and the chips that they gave us were salty very salty and stale. The service was good but when I asked were croutons and cheese included in the salad she tells me no only in the side salads which is a lie because any other time I go they give it to me so the server was being very nasty about that. I went to dine on a Monday evening and I would estimate ten customers at most in the restaurant either occupying a table or at the bar. Server was pleasant and initially attentive in drink refills until I had to leave my booth and walk over to the other side of the restaurant where several servers had gathered and were talking and I asked for a tea refill. A couple of the servers, as well as my server, promptly stood up from the table area where they had gathered and offered to refill my drink. My original server, which had the word "Expert" on her red shirt and appeared to be one that trains new employees, did take my glass while I walked back to my booth and she brought the refill quickly to me. The food was at the proper temperature and was very tasteful! At the conclusion of the meal my server delivered the check/bill to my table which totaled $29.08 and I paid with a $50 bill (the only cash I had with me at the time), with the correct change of $20.92 being returned to me. I was a little disappointed in that when the server returned with my change she provided a $20 bill along with $0.92 in change. Anyone want to take a guess if I left the $20 bill for a $29.08 check/bill? Nope, not me. Maybe I'm wrong and just not with the times but does someone typically leave a $20 bill as a tip for a $29.08 meal? Again, restaurant was not busy, there was a bar nearby in the restaurant, shouldn't the server had tried to break up the $20 bill in smaller denominations? I'll probably return in the future but will probably either use a credit card or make sure I have more smaller types of cash currency with me. read more

My daughter insists on getting take out from here at least once a week. We usually get the same person taking our order over the phone and she is fantastic at remembering our presences. As much as we take out from here, we have only ever had one small issue and they fixed it promptly. The food is always fantastic. Cooked exactly the way we want. (I have very picky eaters in my house) We have eaten inside a few times and even with a huge bar and tvs going, we can have a conversation without a bunch of noise in the background. Curbside pickup done right! Yummy burgers! This is my go to for around the corner pickup. I usually get the two for $22. The spinach dip is delicious gooey spinach dip. The bacon burger is one of the best I've ever had. Their bacon is thick, cooked through and they put lots on. The lettuce and tomato is fresh. The steaks are ok. The grilled shrimp parmesan topper I add to the steak is great. I love their coleslaw and garlic mashed potatoes for the sides. The clubhouse sandwich is very good with more of that tasty bacon. I've always been underwhelmed by their desserts. I wish they were thicker and looked better. The blondie I tried last time was pretty good. Their burger steers me here regularly! read more

I thought I would give this place another try. So will our waitress was very nice and bubbly , but it took what felt like forever to get her to take our order. Because we were not ready when she first asked us we waited a while. Even then we had to be like we are were ready to order. After that she was pretty good. We did have to ask for refills once. I have to say my food was a little disappointing because when it came out on the skillet it was sizzling and my chicken and shrimp were good and hot but my mashed potatoes were cold,cold when I went to eat them. Thank goodness they replaced them with hot fries. I would say the mashed potatoes would have been good they were hot. We should have gone with the reviews, but we had a long day of driving and were being lazy. (Door Dash delivered our order to the Hampton Inn and we have ZERO issues with her delivery.) Applebee's, however, didn't seem to be providing her with any updates or any info regarding when the order would be available.... when it was finally ready it was WAY past the estimated time. I was in Savannah, GA for an anniversary get together and ate at the Applebees on Gateway twice. Both times the service was great and the staff were all attentive and friendly. I had a waitress my first visit and waiter my second. Both were outstanding and did a great job. The food was good and I had no complaints. I went almost near closing the first night and the group at the bar were pretty intoxicated and very loud and maybe should of been cut off, but I don't know Applebees policies. We stopped in Savannah overnight. Applebees was right across from the hotel. Instead of driving to get something, we decided to order on line and eat in the room. Applebees is normally our go to place when we want good food and don't want to wait too long. They did not have a long wait - but the hostess could not find the order...and finally figured it our. When we got our food back to the room, the Oriental Chicken Wrap was about 4" in length. It is not normally that small. There were only 3-4 small pieces of chicken in the wrap, and I asked for the dressing on the side, and it was on the wrap. They did give me a side of dressing but charged me for it. Crazy, right? It doesn't cost money to have it included, but if you want it on the side, it costs extra. My pepper bacon chicken and pasta was good - the pasta was a little hard, like it had been microwaved, but all in all, pretty good. I'm not sure I can really blame Applebees because of the economy. I know things cost more, but if you can't keep up the standard, you should really let people know. Either that, or raise the prices and keep it consistent. No one wants to pay more, but no one wants to see food half the size either. Gotta do a bit better Applebees.... read more

By now the first meals are cold. Ridiculous. After I made a fuss, our server called her manager over. He was gracious and took both of the late served meals off of our bill. I asked for the bourbon street steak and when the order came out, the steak looked very small for an 8 ounce. Don't even get me started. When I cut into it. It was raw. Ask for medium well. The server was good, she was professional and polite. Is the opposite for the quality of the food, we both ask for a ribeye and a sirloin steaks. First, they served the couple next to us first and their food was smoking hot. Second, when we finally received our food, it was cold, my stake look nothing like a ribeye steak and was far away from looking anything like a medium. Atmosphere - A standard Applebee's. The hostess sat us an obvious dirty table with thick dried ketchup spots and crumbs. We just got up and took the table behind us, no one even noticed. Way to pay attention to details! Food Appetizer - none. Main Course - I went with the Napa Chicken and Portobello. The meal was very flavorful for one of their health choice items. The zucchini was slices were either paper thin or half inch think, 2 of each. The mix of grilled onions was very good. Dessert - none ordered today. Well just the facts ,Applebee's is always a hit or miss decision. I have had about 50/50 results from them throughout the south east. We decided after a very tough day yet week, we decided to go to happy hour. The first glitch was they were out of a call brand so we couldn't get what we wanted at a bar. Oh well not that big of a deal. I asked about their rib let's happy hour. She said only after 9? No where on the two giant banners does it say that. Her answer I know , a lot of people complain about that. I then said you know that's false advertising and she answered yes I do. You can't argue with stupid so we got up and left. Absolutely horrible. Me and my wife waited up front with 2 small children for almost 15 minutes before someone even tried to sit us. Finally sat down and waited another 10-15 minutes before the server even came to the table. Drink is didn't come out until my daughter already had her food and food was cold. I dont even want to waste time writing a review about a chain place that just seems to be failing in every state that I have visited one in. However because its in my blood i will at least write a little something to make the yelp machine happy lol. To sum it all up i 100% purely regret going here for lunch.
