Not to bad for a chain restaurant. We were looking for something for lunch and decided to try Applebees. We did the 2 for 26 and the bill was less than $50 out the door. Our waiter was spot on with her service. If we are n the area again we will go back. read more

We went to Applebees at Apache Mall as we were there running errands. We stopped in for drinks and an appetizer. Nasty weather outside, so minimal patronage . We ordered Happy Hour Specials Long Island Ice Teas and the chicken wonton appetizers. Really good wontons and Long Islands! Parking not an issue as we were in the mall. read more

Just okay, but what you expect from a chain restaurant. My mom and I did the 2 for $22, The spinach artichoke dip was runny and way too salty. My chicken oriental salad seemed tired, not fresh. The ice tea was old and cloudy. The real downside was the apparent apathy of wait staff from the front hostess to the server. We weren't treated as welcomed guests but as burden. read more

The food was a 5 star situation. We had the 6 ounce steak with real mashed potatoes and side salads. Really good food. My hat's off to the cook and their staff. The waitstaff needs a swift kick in the pants. First waitress was a bit arrogant with a cool disposition. The waitress who brought our food, not the same one who took our order, needs to grow up a little bit. When my dining companion remarks that her drinking glass was dirty. She had returned with a clean glass and slammed it down onto the table. We ordered through Delivery to our hotel. Lots of choices and good food. However, on their website, they left NO where to add condiments to your burger. You either take what they offer or you don't. I don't know what was going on, but we had to wait over an hour for our entrees. When they got there the food was room temperature. My wife's salad was inedible. When my wife told our waitress, she comp'd the salad and gave us coupons for future use. Our grandson and his wife immediately asked for to go boxes and left (new baby...already in a restaurant over an hour and a half). I had my guilty pleasure, the 1xxxx calories classic appetizer sampler all to myself. Everything was good as always, which is why I never deviate from it when I come to Applebee's. My wife had the mozzarella caprese burger and she thought it was good. It was hard for her to eat since it was so big, and the condiments kind-of fell out as she was devouring it -- which was the only negative. Our service was fantastic. Her name was Casey, and she did a great job of helping my wife narrow down what to order. It's always nice when the servers have tried all of the dishes and can give recommendations. Our drinks were always full and she came around at just the right times. The atmosphere was enjoyable. Not too loud even on a busy weekend night. Plenty of TVs showing sports. The decor is all local sports teams, which helps the chain restaurant distinguish itself from the others. read more

Had the Bourbon Street chicken and shrimp yesterday at the Applebee's off of Highway 52 in Rochester. It's now my new favorite. Never had anything that tasted this good! Chicken cooked over an open flame, sauce, very tasty shrimp, sauteed onions and mushrooms, served with mashed potatoes. It was a good-sized portion, not overly huge, and I'm in favor of that. The server was wonderful and attentive. We ate at noon on Saturday, so it wasn't very crowded. I'm coming back again just for this entree. read more

I haven't been to applebee's in forever and a day and would not choose to go on my own---but my son got to pick and he wanted to go here. I am always just left flat and not really excited about my options on the menu. We both got a long island iced tea for 4.00 on happy hour...I didn't drink it because it didn't taste good...so it really wasn't a value for me. I got the chicken quesadillas on happy hour---this is a great price for the amount of food you get however they do have a little kick to them and my server told me they are not spicy.....i don't like the spice!!!! I ended up with heartburn that night.... My son got a hamburger i think it was almost 9.00---he never seems to care where his burger comes from so no comment from him. I also got the potato chips with some type of spicy cheese sauce. They were not that good....but they were half price.... I arrived with my son to eat an early dinner. Despite the restaurant being over half empty, we were not greeted for over 5 minutes. The first and only greeting was as we were being seated. I was especially bothered as it appeared the owner was seated directly next to the podium where we were waiting to be assigned a table. The owner was either totally oblivious or noticed and simply did not care enough to even acknowledge us. Right now, I do not want to come back. However, my business is easily won back. It's Applebee's. Mass produced food. The service is hit or miss. But! I still think the 2 for 25 deal is great if you get the 6 ounce sirloin. Food was good. Unfortunately I've felt pretty bad for the servers. We've been here twice in the past month and both times the servers have been visibly and vocally unhappy. It's not just one server, it seems to be a larger issue. The first time we were seated near the back next to their computers and the whole time there was grumbling and bickering between them. I could hear much complaining and it was a bit sad. The second time, today, the hostess was a bit melancholy looking. We did the typical "Hi, how are you" greeting and she said she was okay, but tired because the previous day she had to work a 15 hour shift with only a half hour break. After a long day of travel with not many options for food after 9:00 I thought Applebee's would be a safe choice. I placed the order around 9:45 with a pick up time of 10:06. I placed the order under my first and last name. When my husband went to pick up the order he was told it would be 15 minutes. He waited and at 10:30 asked again. The waitress was very rude and told him she didn't have anybody with the name "shawna" but that was not the name he gave her. We don't know anyone by that name. She told him he was wrong and that he did and so essentially she admitted to the food being ready the whole time. I can't really say the quality of the food was bad because I don't think it's fair to judge food that's sat for 30 minutes however, I did find the presentation awful. They threw ketchup packets IN the food container which just seemed really gross. Overall if you're hungry and looking for a late night bite I would skip this one. read more

Ya it was ok. Applebee's is certainly a chain! Service was ok. Food was delivered in a reasonable amount of time and certainly hot! I will say that they serve it hot. I definitely like the service method used there. The food runner method gets the food out of the kitchen as soon as it comes off the grill! Much better than the ring the bell wait for the waitress method. At least it works here. I ordered one of the 2 for $20 meals as did everyone else in our party. Appetizers included. Mozzarella sticks are good and the wings are ok. No Hooter or B-dub wings here. I got the chicken strips. Serving size was plenty! My wife ordered the Bourbon Street Chicken & Shrimp and the chicken was amazing!! I wish I would have ordered that meal. I could have saved half the calories too! Good place to get that "cookie cutter" meal that is served the same at every location. Plenty of TV's and the noise level is low. Parking is no problem as it is located in the Mall. Mall location is good because you can get some steps in after the meal. read more

Erica and I happened over here because the other day HuHot (our targeted restaurant) was nearing close. Since Applebees was right across the way within the Apache Mall, we decided to try it. We were greeted immediately and seated right away as well. The hostess was very courteous and mentioned that they had a $5 burgers, wings, beer special going and invited us to try it. Tanner, our waiter came shortly thereafter and was awesome. He was very personable and as we observed through the night he seemed to find a way to engage every table that he was responsible for despite the wide variety of ages, genders, and group sizes. In any case, we had the sweet and spicy boneless wings which had no heat to it but was very flavorful. Erica had the quesadilla burger which she really liked and I had the Cowboy burger which was also very nice. Note, that the burgers are cooked as Pink vs. no Pink without the standard rare, med. rare, med, med well, well etc. Erica ordered hers Pink, but received a burger that was juicy and not pink. I ordered mine no pink and received one that was a bit dry and not pink. Also, the burgers themselves could have been seasoned a bit more but the sandwiches as a whole entities were very tasty. The meals came with fries by the way which were quite good. Neither of us finished our food, but we had a good time, and it was quite reasonably priced. I was bordering on a low four star for this place but if you factor in the waiter's personality and talent with people its a solid to high four stars. By the way, we only realized at the end that they also had half priced appetizers...cant wait to take advantage of that! read more

We went around 3pm for a late lunch. The waitstaff was nice and attentive. It was happy hour so half off apps. We got the potato swirls I think they were (the kind you can get at a fair where the take one potato and do one big spiral cut to make them thin like chips). The queso that came with it and it was delish with a kick. I ordered the line tequila shrimp and chicken. The sauce on that dish was so good I would eat it by itself. It's a chain but the French onion soup was some of the best I've had. Server was ok but he was like a robot.

You know, the food was good, but each time we have gone there, there has been something that just plain sucked. One time it was a long wait for food and check, another we had a rude server, and yet another, they charged the wrong price (check your bill!). But my favorite has to be the time when we placed our order and my food was brought to the table at which point they told my husband that they had run out of what he ordered and would he like something else! We just left and have not been back. I'm not a glutton for punishment anymore - especially since HuHot Mongolian Grill is now in the mall. As an aside, the NW Applebee's is great. read more

Went to Applebees last night for my one year anniversary with my beautiful girlfriend. It was surprisingly really busy yet we were seated immediately. We didn't tell them it was our anniversary but we were taken care of like we were VIP. Our server was very friendly and took very good care of us! Like I said, it was busy but the food still came out in decent time and we had a overall good experience. I have been to this Applebee's several times and have never been disappointed. This is a great place for drinks at the mall but if you come Friday or Saturday nights expect to wait, they get very busy. I just had the chicken tortilla soup with a house salad it was all good.
