We showed up here pretty late on a Saturday night, the one bad thing I'll say is that it took them way too long to get us seated. I realize this is kind of a small thing but when you see the hostess chatting it up with some people at the table instead of getting arrangements for a table you get kind of annoyed when you sit there for 10 minutes. Other than that the experience was pretty awesome. Our waitress had a very good sense of humor, the happy hour specials were good but considering we got there with only about a half an hour till last call we were kind of annoyed at how long it's took for us to get our first drinks. Well, first off...it's ALWAYS been hit or miss with Applebee's. In every town we've lived in, it's either not good for numerous visits, then it's good one time for both of us, not good for one of us or just plain bleh for both. This one on Road 68 has been GREAT the half a dozen times or so we've been here. Either dine in or pick up, the food is hot, tasty, and fresh out of the kitchen. Service wise, they have been attentive and prompt. Always smiling and friendly to us. Even in pick up! The restaurant itself is clean, as well as the bathrooms. Music isn't too loud or annoying. People of Applebee's err Walmart.... you know when you walk in what to expect so I am a bit amused by the 1 and 2 stars. its not like a fine meal in the city. what you have here is known quantity and edible food for a area of town with otherwise limited options. If you are that concerned, eat something fried! at least you know everything will be killed by the temp. For me, a Burger and Salad hit the spot. I was actually surprised by the salad experience... Called to see if we can dine in 30 mins before closing girl on the phone said yes & made it seem like it was no problem & that they close midnight, drove from Kennewick to Pasco just to be approached by the manager for him to tell us that they are closing & that there was no one there to make food . We had bad service. This lady just came up to us with a bad attitude. I understand that it's been a bad day and all, but she ruined our night. Well that happened... but I noticed that she went to another table and attended them politely. I don't know what was wrong with us but this is unacceptable. As aways the food was great. But the service was horrible. After the waiter for got to bring refills that she offered us, not that we we asked for. When we asked for things we would then have to wait a long time just to get it. The manager was nice and heard our complaint. Ok we have been here for 20 minutes on a Tuesday evening, dinner time, place is not busy...manager finally came by and asked if we had ordered...she took our order and said something to the girl who was supposed to be our waitress. She came by and said "i am do sorry about that" about 3 times. Which coincidentally is the same thing she has been saying to her other customer for about 15 minutes. We will see how long it takes to get food. Another 15 minutes. Cedar Grilled Lemon Chicken...just Ok. Only thing hot is the plate...guess we won't be back even thou we live in the neighborhood. Wow to start the restaurant was half empty and we were asked to wait 10 to 15 minutes. Then after we were seated, we waited another 15 minutes. Not so much as a hello or a glass of water was offered, but no worries they topped off the waters at the table next to us. At least three members of the waitstaff walked by without acknowledging us. I'm usually a pretty patient person but we managed to gather up our 3 small children under 8, collect our things and walk out the door without any acknowledgment. The service here is always slow and unfriendly, and food was undercooked on a couple different occasions, so i decided to order carside to go tonight and after waiting 20 minutes out in the car, the server comes out and tells me he forgot to place my order, so he took it all over again and we waited an hour for our food. Waited in the bar for 20 minutes for someone to clean and pick up the table we were waiting to use. Hostess was really nice and told us we could sit there and someone would be by to clear the table. After looking at bartenders and constantly trying to get their attention we realized no one was coming to serve us (let alone bus our table). We walked out and let the hostess know we were tired of sitting at a dirty table that had been served previously and waiting for it to be bussed. The food was mostly OK, however the breadstick that came with my meal tasted like mold. Then, hallf way through the meal, the lights went low, and they started blaring crappy music over the sound sytem, it was so loud that when I left, I had a headache. When I complained about it, I was told that it was happy hour, and every Applebees turned down the lights and blared crappy music for happy hour, and there was nothing they could do about it. My ceaser salad has no dressing, the shrimp are barely warm, and there wasn't a server in sight to ask for help. If they were busy I'd be understanding but it was pretty empty. The food was ok. The service was awful. We were sat in the bar even though we were not drinking. There were numerous tables available in the Resturant area. Our waiter spent more time grab assing with other patrons than he did serving us. After waiting for what seemed an eternity for our burgers he stopped by our table and said "no burgers yet? I don't know why they haven't brought them to you ". Who is they? He is our server. I asked for a side of BBQ sauce for my fries. Asked him twice more and it was the same story. I used to love Applebee's signature drink the"perfect margarita",. They were expensive, but worth the price. But now they changed it. Using cheaper ingredients, no olives. They should rename it the "nothing special were cheapskates margarita". They ruined one the best cocktails around. Their food is not bad, service varies from good to so so.
