My daughter and I had to go to Lagrange and found ourselves getting hungry & decided to go to Applebee's. I can't even remember the last time I had ate at one. We were seated immediately. The atmosphere was nice. We got there just in time, because right after we ordered it became quite busy. Our server was amazing. She was so sweet and on top off everything. I really couldn't have asked for better service. I chose the Southwest Chicken Bowl which had cilantro rice, beans, chicken, pico, guacamole, lime and a zesty chimichurri sauce that was a real zinger. My daughter liked it better than I did. It was good; but, the sauce was a little spicy for me. She ordered the Bourbon Street Mushroom Swiss Burger which I ended up taking a couple bites from. So t was delicious. The patty was cooked perfectly, the bun was buttery and toasted and the cheese and sautéed onions were just creamy and delicious. Overall, I'm quite impressed. We will most definitely be back. FYI....if you're a Dr. Pepper fan like Heidi is, they don't carry it. They switched to root beer. read more

arrived before dinner rush. we were in Applebee section. Only us and 1 server. His greeting at arrival and comments while ordering showed he was not interested in being there. drinks arrived a bit late for us being only one in section. He, bartender, and manager chatted while we had not been served in over 15 minutes. Server came back and said the software had malfunctioned and had not sent the ticket to cook. He was less than apologetic. I stated the software was not the fault but his attention. He showed no interest in apologizing. I said a couple of cuss words about it's people not software that provide good customer service. Manager came over and said it was the software and I should not blame his staff. We got up and left. I think this place is hit or miss. Obviously, my wife were in the miss section. There were folks in IHOP section that seemed to have good interaction with different servers. I was pleasantly surprised during my recent visit to Applebees. Our server, Kendra was super sweet. Everything came out quickly and tasted great. Their date night daiquiri is amazing and only $5 for a huge drink. The tipsy Cupid was good but not as good. The oriental chicken salad was really good!! It's a good sized portion. The dressing on it is amazing. The whiskey bacon burger was pretty good. You could really taste the whiskey in the sauce. We got the appetizer combo. The quesadilla and wings were my favorite. I mean...it's Applebee's. I'm a little biased as I don't especially like chain restaurants, and Applebee's is one of my least favorites. Anyway, my daughter begged us to go, so we went. I got the mushroom swiss burger. And wowzers was it terrible. The meat, mushrooms, and cheese we're okay. However, the onions were under cooked and the sauce just tasted, well, bad. The soggy mess of a bun wrapped this whole thing together. Listen, I had burgers served to me on an aircraft carrier while on deployment. Sad day when military food is better than something from a restaurant. The rest of my party ate what seemed to resemble food. None of use died or even got sick. So, there's that. The service was okay. The French people behind us gave some class to the joint. What 4 French people were doing in an Applebee's in Lagrange, KY I'll never know. The best part of my experience? RODENTS HERE (COMFORTABLE ENOUGH TO RUN BY CUSTOMERS)!!!! DISGUSTING PLACE!!! The manager was no where to be found when the mouse ran past our feet, he had his servers capture it. He did not come over to apologize. I have worked in food service for 6 years and was appalled when he not only ignored the situation but offered no compensation. We left because we're not confrontational but I thought back on my half decade+ of food experience and no good manager would EVER act like that. We came back and asked for our meals comped. Not joking, he offered us "50% off our next meal" ... we all busted out laughing. We said "there is no next time" all in sync like it was rehearsed. That was so insulting. I said to him "Thankfully our checks aren't closed out and we paid in cash so it should be super easy to comp." He ended up giving us everything free except the birthday girl's drinks. Bad idea for a birthday dinner. Wasn't expecting a ratatouille dinner experience. While eating my meal . A mouse went by my table . The staff was ok and got the cup like it was normal . What was the mouse going sing me happy birthday. They grab measuring cup and chased it towards me . The waitress laughed it off and called it excitement. Ewww then they charged me full charge . Disappointing! We just moved to this area. Chilis was our go to for a descent "chain" meal back home. I was hopeful that Applebee's would fill that spot for us. Unfortunately, I was wrong. The waiters stepped over or on food and trash the entire time we were there. Very unappealing! I forgot what I even ordered but I wasn't impressed. My wife ordered a burger and wouldn't finish it. Ate here with a small group again and again as last time, there is not a good place for a small group to gather. We all agreed this would be the last time to meet here. The service was good and the food was OK. They still have just a funky menu and with so many things to choose from it is hard to understand or decide. They don't have lunch specials as such although the menu says Lunch Combos. There are 3 main Combo headings and you have to decide what to get with what, one, two or three things. I chose the Chicken wrap with Mac & Cheese. The Mac order was a very small portion and the wrap had mostly lettuce and very little chicken. Both just OK. We were there from 11:00 until after 12:30 and there were only 6 people in the whole place. They should know they have a major problem. read more

Review update!!!! I have been here many times over the years and lamented the decline of Applebee's in LaGrange and in general. This place was a dog. No excuses for it. Well... this is my 3rd time back after that I would call "The Change". I think they have turned this puppy around. Food has been great last 3 times. Steaks. Burgers. Boneless wings. They are firing on all cylinders lately. Like you remember Applebee's used to be. Seriously. Try it. I'm still in shock. Took me 3 visits to update my review. And no... I haven't been drinking ;-) Had to take off a star for some physical plant issues. They need maintenance badly. Torn carpet. Wallpaper in disrepair. Need to step it up here guys. How is it possible that I've lived in Lagrange for over 5 years and didnt know 3 important facts about my local Applebee's......? 1. Kids eat free on Tuesdays. 2. Kids eat free on Tuesday! And 3. On Tuesdays, kids eat free! Seriously, this is huge when you have 3+ kids cause those $5.99 kids meals add up real quick on a tab. Something else I enjoyed about my last visit was the fact the calorie count is right on the menu. I usually hate this, but being its January and my diet ambitions are still strong, I was very please that I was able to make a full meal for just 500 calories. Hey hey! Applebee's for the win yall! I understand that times are though as far as getting help, but when no one comes curbside and you have to go in for your order after waiting 15 minutes in the car, there is a problem. Had to wait an additional 15 minutes for my order. The bar tender was sitting at the bar eating dinner at 7 pm. I asked her for help and was told to go wait by the door. Ok. It's a typical chain Applebee's. I'm never super impressed... but one thing, and one thing alone keeps me coming back. ...Those dang wonton tacos. They are by far and away the best thing on their menu. They're delicious. Diced asian chicken topped with Asian slaw-- all in a crispy wonton taco shell. The appetizer order gets you four of them for around $8.00. It's enough to fill me up, but I could easily smash two orders if I wanted to. On this particular visit, the chicken was cold. I wanted to send them back (the chicken was THAT cold), but we were in a rush to get to the local Drive-In. I ate them and the kinda hit the spot. My husband ordered the breakfast burger and it was pretty good too. A cheeseburger topped with hashbrowns, bacon, and eggs... how can that be wrong? I'll also say the service was pretty good. This was truly awful. We ordered the 2 entrées for /$25 with appetizer. The buffalo wings came out and my son was super excited about the celery and ranch as he does not like the chicken. They ran out of celery we were not offered any type of substitute. The plate was delivered to our table and my husband asked "doesn't this come with celery?" ...."yes but we are out" It as not brought to our attention when they brought it then no substitution so my son sat with nothing to nibble on. The food took a very very long time we arrived at 7:33pm we left at 9:05 and we did not even take the time to eat the entrées. That is around 1hr and 30 min. My chicken came out burnt, onions burnt, the mushrooms I asked twice to be placed on the side were forgotten and then brought out raw not cooked those too were for my son. He still tries to take a bite but no flavor, not cooked he just didn't like them cuddos to him for trying. My husband's steak he order the 8oz. Being a big fan of steak he has ordered many of them this one was NOT 8oz not even close it was suppose to come out medium it came out well. It would be lucky if the steak weighed 4oz. We just couldn't eat the meal we sent it back yet were still charged $7 for the appetizer? So you ruin my birthday meal, my child sits for that long with no dinner, charge me $7 for a 2/$25 entrée take 1hr and 30min and we never even saw the manger????????? **JUST WOW** that's really bad all around service and food. Applebee's is a great family restaurant with a kick. Every other Saturday night they have karaoke which can be fun but it's loud. They offer a nice variety of entrées and some really great appetizers. Appetizers are 1/2 price every night after 10pm. read more

Hostess seated us at a table with all dirty chairs. Didn't offer to wipe them out. Ordered mozzarella sticks for an appetizer which came out barely warm. Bartender was more interested in sitting at the end of the bar on her cellphone than taking care of her customers. 3 of us ordered a burger and all of them came out with only a bun and the burger meat. The menu specified they come with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle. We had to ask several times for toppings/condiments before she got everything corrected. We all had empty glasses and the waitress asked if we wanted a refill. We all said yes. She returned with 1 glass and sat it down. By the time we all finally got a refill one of the glasses was dirty. On top off all of that she messed up our bill when she rang it up. The burger tasted ok but was a little dry. Had a nice lunch today except the steak salad portion was so small my friend and I were both still hungry after we finished it. We both ordered more food and told the server but nothing was said. The steak salads are very good, the meat was cooked to our liking and very good, but the serving size of the salad was much smaller than their regular side salad. I had this bourbon chicken thing that came out so hot that had to wait 10 mins before I could touch it and then found out the chicken was tasteless, the shrimp in it were caught by captain kangaroo and the best part was the potatoes as they were the only thing with flavor. I have been here a few times. I have had not one good experience. Why go back? I believe sometimes it's just the staff. So let me tell you about a few. 1. My wife and I arrived and were waiting on our party of about 10 people. We had to wait for 10 min to be seated. We then had to stare at the hostess before we were asked if we would like a drink while we waited. Then about 10 min later our party arrived, before our drinks. The service was so bad the kitchen manager had to come out to make sure we were taken care of. Our first drinks we had to send back as the ice had melted and watered down the drink. 2. My wife and I again arrived. Waited to be seated and were told sorry we have no silverware. no problem as long as I have it before my meal comes. My mail was delivered I had to look at my server and say can I get some silverware to eat this please? After I started eating my meal I realized I'm supposed to have shrimp with my pasta. I had no shrimp I brought this to my waiter's attention and by the time the shrimp and come out I was done eating the pasta. 3. My wife and I have gone back yet another time give them get another chance. I ordered just a house salad I wasn't hungry. She was the boy was so we stopped for dinner. The lettuce was not fresh. It was somewhat wilted. I didn't even finish small house salad. Normally when I go to a restaurant I have a full salad and I finish it with no problem. The salad did not even tasted thankfully it was only $3. it seems that every time I go in there and I go in there just to give them another chance hoping that a new manager a new staff would you better. It seems that there is always an issue. I'm either waiting for food longer than I should be. Waiting for drinks that I can see sitting on the bar from my table. I've almost gotten up and going to get them myself. I have been greeted with no silverware as previously mentioned above. And worst of all I've actually complained to a manager my server told me sorry for the wait I just had to use the restroom. That isn't something I want to he justar from my server that is serving me food. Enclosing I'm not one to say don't go to a restaurant because. Me and my mother went earlier tonight, she ordered a 12 oz stake and mashpotatos I ordered the mozzarella chicken. When we got our food her stake was hardly a 6 oz and my food was so salty I couldn't eat it. Her mashpotatos had the consistency of slime and mine tasted of salt and dish soap. Stopped in here because it was close to our hotel. Should have read the reviews first. The food was okay, but we had a couple of issues. There was a guy at the bar who was obviously friends with all the staff - a regular. Out of his mouth came almost every curse word you could imagine. No sentence without one. He was very loud. When we said something the reply from the manager was that he was about to leave. Finally gone by the time we finished dinner. Wouldn't recommend this place to families. Also told that the margaritas were 3$. I asked if they could provide one with 1/2 club soda and half sweetener to make it a little lighter. They brought me a skinny margarita never mentioning that it was 7$, not three. Two of those and the bill was an additional $8. Again spoke to the manager and she just offered excuses. read more

This place is great for a cheap meal. But the service is horrible. Me and my wife walked in on a Friday night after 10 it was almost dead except for a couple of tables. But our waiter took 20 minutes before taking our drink order, of course by then we were ready to order. We ordered a couple of appetizers since they're half off, and a couple beers. Our beers took more than 10 minutes to come to our table and our our food another 15 more. I don't think they would be short staffed as they only had 3 tables total. One good waiter is all it would've taken for that many tables and I'm sure I saw more than one walking around.
