A Wonderful Brunch Experience with Outstanding Service! On July 6, 2026, my husband and I found ourselves unexpectedly spending an extra day in the New Orleans area after our JetBlue flight was canceled due to mechanical issues. The airline placed us in a nearby hotel, but there were very few restaurants within walking distance. We decided to take a Lyft to Applebee's, located at 1000 W. Esplanade Avenue, Kenner, LA 70065, hoping to enjoy a relaxing brunch before heading back to the airport. When we arrived around 2:00 p.m., we were seated immediately. The restaurant wasn't crowded, and the hostess greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Shortly after being seated, we had the pleasure of meeting our waitress, Ms. Tabitha B. She introduced herself with such a friendly and genuine personality that we immediately felt like valued guests. She took the time to recommend some of the restaurant's most popular dishes and answered all of our questions with enthusiasm. Her customer service was exceptional. To start, we ordered two Blue Moon Belgian White beers along with the Brew Pub Pretzels & Beer Cheese Dip, which were absolutely delicious and the perfect appetizer for our brunch. Following Ms. Tabitha's recommendation, I ordered the Bourbon Street Steak with mashed potatoes and Mexican rice. My husband chose the Lemon Parmesan Chicken with garlic green beans after she mentioned it was a customer favorite for anyone who enjoys lemon-flavored dishes--which we certainly do. Everything was cooked perfectly, beautifully seasoned, and absolutely delicious. Both meals exceeded our expectations and easily earned a 5-star rating. Although our vacation plans were disrupted by the unexpected flight cancellation, this dining experience reminded us just how warm and welcoming the people of Louisiana truly are. The hospitality we experienced throughout our trip was unforgettable, and Ms. Tabitha played a big part in turning a frustrating travel day into a wonderful memory. Small portion of SPIN DIP and chips were not warm. Please include a sour cream side with that item. The GM of the restaurant walked right behind us while seated at the bar to berate staff. He should spend his time greeting the guests and checking on their level of satisfaction instead of yelling across the restaurant to wait staff. I had not been to Applebee's in forever, and my first experience in a while did not disappoint. We got two "2 for 30s" with boneless wings (classic Buffalo) and a spinach & artichoke dip. The spin dip was great, and the salsa that came with it was very tasty. The Buffalo wings were better than any I've ever had at Buffalo Wild Wings! The oriental chicken salad is my go-to entrée, and I was highly satisfied with the plate. My aunt ordered the riblet platter and said the Sweet Asian Chile sauce was sweet, spicy, and delicious. The riblets fell right off the bone. My mom got the 8 oz. Filet and said that it's one of her favorite steaks to get in the area! My cousin ordered the Blackened Shrimp Alfredo, and he said that the pasta was a great bite of food. On top of the 5-star quality food, our waitress Dom was our favorite part of our dinner experience! She brought great energy to the table, cracked jokes, and even sang for us! Furthermore, she let us take our time looking for items on the menu and refilled our drinks immediately after we finished them. If I could give Dom a 10/5 stars...I definitely would! The wife took me here for Father's Day big mistake I ordered the 8 oz sirloin steak they bought me this tiny steak which was the six ounce I'm familiar because I eat the 8 ounce all the time and I added the onion rings for a upcharge the wife ordered fish and chips her plate arrived it was shrimp not fish so we sent it back meanwhile the steak plate arrived steak was over cooked the onion rings were burned to a crisp.The wife's fish plate arrived the fish actually stunk so we sent it back.We asked for it to be taken off the bill the waitress had already charged our debit card we call the supervisor believe me he wasn't any kind of manager he said he could not remove it so he took our drinks off that all he could do.Thanks Applebees for ruining my Father's Day!!!I will be calling corporate to recover my refund and staying away from there forever! read more

The service person was not very efficient nor friendly. I ordered soup that was too spicy and asked for some crackers to dilute the spices. I had to wait awhile to get attention and they told me they did not supply crackers. One server suggested bread sticks. Since I didn't know the size, I ordered four. They were humongous and I was charged over $1.00 for each. I couldn't finish the soup and gave up. I left $1.00 tip and will NEVER go back to this place again! read more

Great hostess, and waitress who was on her first day and it was during lunchtime for my daughter's 41st birthday, and we asked them to sing to her as a surprise! Esplanade Location) I went to dine with my boyfriend and his family on December 14, 2021 around 8:15pm (party of six + a 2 year old) to spend some time with some who were leaving for a trip the following day. The restaurant closed at 9PM this night, and the restaurant was honestly not that busy. I cannot remember our server's name but she was a blonde, caucasian, taller female, with tattoos on her face. She was very dismissive during our interactions with her. We received our apps before our drinks (two spinach dips and some boneless wings) and had no silverware or plates. We decided to dig in because we were hungry. As we were getting ready to remind the server about our drinks (25 min to get drinks, we had four lemonades, two waters and two drinks from the bar), she stormed in front of the three tables she was serving (I'm assuming her assigned section) and shouted to the host of the evening "I cannot take any more tables! Do not give me another table". She then walked off then came back about three minutes later, and we then reminded her of the drinks. She told us "Just a moment," and returned with the beverages. We had to remind her to bring plates and silverware. She brought the correct amount of plates but brought waaaaaaay to many sets of silverware. I personally took it as her trying to be funny based on her behavior she has shown already. My boyfriend noticed she was speaking across the room quietly with a tall, caucasian, and slender male server, while looking at us. I too noticed this behavior. We both looked at them, and as they noticed this, they stopped their actions. We finished our appetizers, and waited for the food. As the baby's food came out first, the male server brought it out. We are all very fluent in English, and he stated that it was "Very hot!" twice. He then said, "Mucho caliente!". Again, I found this personally to be very shifty verbiage. My boyfriend and his family wasn't offended, so I didn't mention anything of it. We didn't say anything. As everyone's food began to come out, we had to remind our original female server to pick up the appetizer plates. It was clear that she wasn't going to get them even though she asked, "Is there anything else I can do for you?," while simultaneously walking away. It appears the she was busy because one of the three tables had walked out and she was trying to get money for the the beverages they ordered. This was also the hold up in my request for A1 steak sauce. As we finished the quickest thing we got were our boxes and check. This alone was appalling and really proves why we shouldn't ever return. read more

One of the shabbiest Applebee's I've ever been to. The floor was dirty, with napkins and discarded straw wrappers next to the booth. We were blessed with a HIGHLY INATTENTIVE waitress, whom I spent most of the time watching the back of her head while she watched TV. Ordinarily, when I go out to any restaurant, I tend to tip waiters and waitresses very well, and I usually start my stopwatch the second I sit down. The better the service, the better the tip ath the end of my meal..... In this location's instance, I waited almost 2 hours, no one even bothered to ask what wanted, and by the time a server actually bothered to walk up and found out that I had never been waited on, she got her manager who apologized for the fact that all of her kitchen staff had left, and offered to buy me dinner, however, I informed her that apologizing was kind of a waste, because she wasn't responsible for it, and that I was more than capable of buying my own dinner. I really wasn't angry, but I do not plan on ever coming back here as a result of the inferior and less than mediocre service that I as a customer received. We are here now, and I'm ready to leave. The only reason we haven't asked for the check and left yet is because we haven't gotten our food. It's been nearly an hour. My kids just got theirs. Our waitress is Extremely unprofessional and just horrible. Lisa. She's loud and obnoxious and keeps calling everyone "my babies" and "my sweeties". I actually saw her run her hand across an elderly gentleman's back who's sitting by himself. Creepy. The male manager was talking about leaving to to the staff members right in front of us and was replaced by a female manager. I'd ask for a different waitress....but one has her fat rolls hanging out and the unshaven male waiter has his pants hanging below his butt. Ill post a picture. None of the male waiters here have shaven in a week. As I'm typing this we still don't have our food and my kids are done. The restaurant isn't even halfway full. After the 15th "sweetie" I about lost it and asked her not to call me that again. Right after Lisa was loudly explaining shes trying to get custody of her grandson because her son picked a terrible girlfriend. We are waiting for a manager. An elderly lady near us just told us she's upset too because Lisa said to her "do you want change". We have asked the manager to just put our food in boxes so we can go. It's 6pm. We got here at 4:30 and STILL haven't been served. I will Never come here again. I live in Metairie and typically go to the Applebee's on Veterans. The service and food at that location are usually par at best, with long wait times and somewhat distance customer engagement. So the other night we decided to try out the Kenner location and I must say we were absolutely blown away by the difference in quality. Our server, Earl, was super friendly, very engaged and showed genuine interest in our experience as guests. The manager came out to check on us and make sure the meal was going well. In all honest the entire experience reminded me of going to restaurants back when I was a kid when the server and staff almost felt like they were part of your group. The food was excellent. Apps came out fast and fresh, entrees were paced properly to arrive fresh but not before apps were complete. Over all it was a perfect casual dining experience and I would recommend anyone who enjoys these establishments try out the Kenner Applebee's! read more

Went there for lunch the other day around 1:30pm. The restaurant was empty. The waitress, Tara, took our drink order and walked away. She came back 5 minutes later (without our drinks) asking if we were ready to order. We ordered 2 appetizers and our meals. 45 minutes later, our food came out (appetizers and meals at the same time) and we still didn't have our drinks. The girl who brought our food said Tara was coming with our drinks. Tara brought our drinks about 5 minutes after our food came. We ordered 2 iced teas and 2 root beers. Tara gave us our bill before we were finished eating and never asked if we wanted refills on our drinks. We had to flag another waitress to get refills on our drinks. The guy at the bar, Earl, is a complete asshole. He is extremely rude to his coworkers while the bar is busy. He needs to learn manners and if he has an issue with his coworkers- NOT EMPLOYEES, he needs to take that to the side or discuss the issues quietly. No need to yell across the restaurant fussing about how a to go order is wrong. I have seen him do to go before and he could have fixed the issue himself. So knowing what I know about this chain I went into this meal with lowered expectations. It was late on a Sunday and there aren't a ton of options around so my wife suggested this place From the start to finish this meal was terrible, even for an Applebee's. The staff are inconsiderate, lazy and potentially indigent. The patrons were the very last thing on the employees' minds. We had to beg for ice, refills on tea, napkins, silverware and even our meal. I mean, literally beg no less than 4 employees. At one point I thought our waitress had decided to retire in the middle of our meal. Our food was barely adequate, even for Applebee's standards. I watched 3 different employees take meal breaks while we waited for our food. After waiting for almost an hour, our meal arrived cold and haphazardly thrown on the plate. On top of a bad meal and horrific service, the Men's Room was in complete shambles. The soap dispenser was on the floor, there was no hot water and the floor was covered in water and used paper towels. An employee entered the Men's room and made a joke of how the restroom had been in such a condition for over a week. As this abortion of a meal proceeded, we watched 2 other couples dress down the manager for bad service and food. It was after 9pm by the time the check came and I informed the waitress of all our complaints. I just didn't have the energy to complain to the manager, who had probably secluded himself in the office to avoid any more complaints anyway. Hopefully, this location will fire all of the employees and/or close down before hunger forces other patrons to dine here again. The manager should probably walk around Kenner going door to door apologizing for ever being born. No restitution was offered. If I could have given no stars or negative stars, I would have. Customer service rocks here. Well at least for us it did. The food was your typical Applebee's fair. Nothing that made me say, wow, that was the best food I've ever had. But it was still good. Everyone enjoyed their food. The mozzarella sticks were tasty, cheeseburger egg rolls were okay but the BBQ sauce that came with them was the saving grace for that app. I wanted the wonton chicken tacos but they were out. Worst experience ever...Dave's soup was warm, my baked potato came warm. 5 of us put in order at the same time... appetizers and soups and salads came out at the same time. Then they bring out my dinner, no one elses yet... Michelle's green beans looked coated in cold grease. They took my potato to heat up, didn't get it back until we were all done with dinner. The manager offered us complimentary deserts, so we chose our favorite, the Blondie... it came out luke warm. Our waitress apparently had too many tables to attend to because we kept asking other staff for refills, and the status on my potato and Dave had to get up and get a water refill from the bar. Nice place to dine in. Prices are reasonable. They changed up their lunch menu. The 2 for $20 isnt available til 4pm. There is a skimpier selection to choose from maybe anout 5 entrees for $10 and the same for $12. It comes with soup or salad and a drink. Not too bad a deal. So for lunch, we chose chicken tenders with salad and a sweet tea and three cheese chicken penne with chicken tortilla soup and also a sweet tea. For dessert we shared churros with marshmallow and chocolate dip. The soup was a little peppery but still good and chunky. I love chunky soup. Very filling. The salad was nicely made.It had cheese ,bacon, croutons. It was also very filling and satisfying. We could have filled up on these 2 starters alone. The entrees...sadly, these were not as good as the soup or salad. We still ate them (well, not the penne). The tenders were a little overcooked and we asked for extra fries instead of the coleslaw and bbq sauce. We got neither and had to ask them to fix it..no big deal. My penne was super bland. Hardly any chicken and hardly any sauce. I spoke to the manager about it and she was nice enough to offer something else. I declined and just asked for extra alfredo sauce instead which helped it big time. I decided to save the rest for my kids. Dessert. It was cute. It was ok. Who doesnt like churros. I guess i expected more out of this marshmallow chocolate dip. Still yummy but just ok. Maybe the dispointment in my entree carried over unto dessert. I just wasnt as excited about it as I thought I would be. I pictured giant disney sized churro sticks sticking out of a mug filled with hot melted chocolate and you could see a mixture of marshmallows through its glass...nope! Just a little bowl wuth hot chocolate with little marshmallows on top. Im sure the one I imagined would have tasted the same..but I still like mine better. Anyway, overall service was good, they were all nice. Food was mediocre. Good atmosphere and clean bathrooms. I would go again when I cant decide on anything new to try. read more
