Quick service (given how busy it usually is), decent happy hour specials, decent food - that's all I ask of a restaurant like Applebee's.

This place is alright. Their drinks are a little over priced compared to other bars in Jackson but it usually has a fun crowd. Food is typical of most Applebees which is average but not great. Most of the bartenders I've had there are fairly quick. It's an alright place to grab a quick bite and a drink. This one is usually fairly clean too. read more

I ordered a steak dinner when it was brought out there was so many greasy finger prints on the plate that it looked like a crime scene. I sent it back refused to pay for it and left. Will never eat here again. There is no care put into the food. The service was horrible. read more

Waitress was fine but the bartender was bad. Had to wait 20 minutes for a drink. Waitress apologized but said the bartender was slow. Service was OK, had to wait 15 minutes for a salad and it was not even busy. They need a manager that knows how to watch ticket times. read more

Food was good once we finally got it. We got our drinks and appetizers and waitress tells us after we finished our appetizers that she forgot to put our entree order in. Took an hour and a half to get out of there. Didn't offer any discount on our bill or anything. We went in around 4pm so it wasn't too busy in there either. read more

Went in to order our favorite quesadilla to find out they completely changed their chicken to frozen BAGGED diced chicken. The quesadilla was more tortilla and tomato than chicken. They sucked. Service here is HORRIBLE. Run not walk away. You will sit and wait for your food for at least an hour or more at lunch and night time. The waitress will forget to put your order in and when you ask her if she put it in she will look shocked and say "Yup!" and then you will see her walk over and actually put your order in. While the whole time she was flirting with some guy at the bar. Then when you see her coming with your food ( You know that exciting feeling you get, you know what Im talking about!) you are sadly mistaken when she sets down in front of you a filet of Salmon and broccoli stems... when you ordered a Burger with fries... ( was it a fat joke? lol JK. ) But seriously.. also as if it couldn't get any worse.. dun dun dun it does. My friend who I took to dinner for her birthday didn't even get her food the rest of us got our food and the waitress forgot to put her order in ( THE WHOLE REASON WE WENT THERE WAS FOR HER BIRTHDAY :( ahhh ..) anyway she apologizes and goes to get her order put in. She comes back and offers the whole table desserts when we asked to speak with a manager, the manager came over and apologized for the inconvenience and say that the birthday girl will get a free dessert off the menu ( uhh hello, she already does get one free because its her birthday and you guys always do that!) so when we tell her the waitress already said the whole table gets free dessert she seemed aggravated but said okay. anyway. This Applebees usually has very friendly and attentive bartenders. The servers at this one usually do a pretty good job too. I rarely wait long at the bar or a table before being approached by them. The food is the standard Applebee's types. I enjoy their appetizers and they have some type of deal on those all of the time. I really like the Asian chicken tacos. I personally have not got a bad app here and I think with the prices they charge the food is more than adequate. The entrees just depend. I personally would get a steak elsewhere but their burgers and riblets are pretty darn good. If you go into an Applebees expecting a five star dining experience then you're just not being very realistic for the price that you are paying. I enjoy getting a couple of beers here during lunch on my day off. During the holidays and on weekends the bar area can get packed. If you're at the Westwood Mall this place is a good option for some decent food and some drinks. I'd rate most Applebees a 3 because their just average but this one almost always has good servers and bartenders on duty so I give it a 4. read more

im from Illinois and was in Jackson to visit family. My friend and I went to the Applebee's in Jackson Mi. We will never go again. We waited for over 40mins for our food! We were seated right away and it took about ten mins for someone to take a drink order, she stated our waitress was busy with a table of 30 but she will be back to get our food order, the first girl who took our drink order came back with our Pepsis, she also took or order for our evidently busy waitress. The pepsis were both flat and I had to flag down a waitress who evidently was our waitress, she took away the bad pop and brought us water,( said she was sorry that she was busy with a huge table) the water was also bad and tasted like chlorine !! Then a waiter who was waiting at the table next to us said to us that our food will be out shortly. That never happens! Finally after 40 plus minutes we walked out! Very disappointed! This is probably the worst Applebee's I've ever been to. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant and we waited a ridiculous amount of time for 2 appetizers. That's all wE ordered!!! The server seemed to care less about her job and the mozz sticks were still cold inside. I generally like Applebee's but will definitely avoid this one. read more

We had to wait to be seated for 5 minutes. The hostess saw us multiple times and went in the back without saying anything. She also looked like she hadn't showered in a couple days. Her hair was all over the place like she woke up, rolled out of bed, and came to work. Our waitress was good, but I still can't get over the hostess. Don't people have standards anymore. This is our family go too place it is cheap and has something for everyone. Service is normally fast and courteous. The only negative thing is there are alot of questionable people that go there. Also if you eat outside you will have to deal with smokers people do not follow the smoke free zone rules and smoke is gross! read more

So yesterday was my birthday I stopped at Chase bar and had a tall draft beer there with a couple friends we decided we wanted to go to Applebees right after. We got there and sat at the bar my friend misplaced her ID in her vehicle and we thought maybe she dropped it at The Chase the bartender heard me say we came from there and instantly went and got the manager. The manager came over and said sense we came from another bar we could not be served. Wtf!? Complete bullshit I told the bartender, who tried to act like she had no idea what was going on as she quietly said sorry...oh well it was her $100 tip she missed out on because we planned on being there for the night eating and drinking. Tip to you guys maybe instead of instantly cutting people off before they even sit down because you found out they came from another bar maybe you'll train your bartenders properly to recognize when customers are at their limit instead of being lazy about it. I don't recommend going to you guys now I will stick to the other nice establishment around Jackson.. FAIL read more

It's becoming kinda ghetto. Last time I was there there was a fight and police basically had to break it up. Ok food. Inexpensive and fast.

I'm giving two stars because the food was good, and it came out hot. However, that's pretty much where the good things end. Went to lunch on a Monday, we arrived around 1:30 so we missed a majority of the lunch rush. We ordered two lunch specials and an appetizer (to be eaten as an entree). We watched three tables around us get their food first even though we had ordered long before them. The waitress did not once offer coffee refills. The worst part of this experience happened after we left the restaurant. One of my lunch companions realized she had left her glasses and phone behind at the restaurant. When we went back to get them we were rudely informed by the hostess that we could NOT go look for them. She copped an attitude at this point and said that "we sweep the floors and I will go look in the back." Our waitress realized who we were and decided to go check in the booth where we were sitting. Guess what she found? Sadly disappointed in the treatment you receive by the staff. This is the second time in a year I've had a bad experience.... when does it get better? read more

So I have been waiting to see what would happen before I wrote this review. About a week ago my girlfriend ordered car side to go. For years I refused to eat at this place. But recently I have started liking it again until this trip. I pulled up to pick up the food. Waited about eight to ten minutes for someone to come out which is standard. One time I got so tired of waiting I just got out of my car turned it off and walked up to the door. The food I received was cold. Plus the wings didn't even have sauce on them. I guess my girlfriend ordered a pop and they didn't give us that. Plus they forgot side sauces. And apparently they were to busy to actually assemble some appetizer that's like a taco so the ingredients all came in separate cups. We contacted them about the problem. They were willing to remake it but at this point we were so disgusted I just wanted my money back which they agreed to. But after a week it appears it will never happen. So I paid for a meal I threw out and was lied to. Someone named Jasmine contacted my girlfriend thru here. And I contacted her because I was not refunded my money. She said she would get back with me. Apparently she is as much of a liar as her management because it says she is the owner. Needless to say don't waste your time with this place. At this point you couldn't even pay me to go back ever again. Maybe Jackson will get lucky and it will close and it will become TGI Fridays. read more
