Applebee's is one of the most famous restaurants here in Great Bend. I went a Sunday night, around 9.30 p.m. I am going to base my opinion on three criteria: service, quality and price of the food, and the environment. I am going to start with the environment because it's the first thing you notice when you walk in. The lights give you a warm welcome to the restaurant. The vibes that the restaurant spread change your mood. The environment stimulates you it does not matter if you are tired, angry or just stressed, all that goes away the moment you walk in. Also, Applebee's has a Karaoke night every Sunday, which is another highlight of its atmosphere. The food price is another feature of this place. They have affordable prices and the quantity of food you get is satisfactory. I got the Oriental Chicken Salad with Krispy chicken. It was a mix of flavors in my mouth. Without a doubt one of the best salads that I've ever had. As well, Applebee's has deals in some dishes, you can get two for 20,25 or 30 dollars. Also, you can have half-price appetizers every day past 9 p.m. on weekdays and past 10 p.m. on weekends. I tried the mozzarella sticks and believe me, they were exquisite, I loved the texture and the sauce goes perfect with them. The service I got was coherent with the fact that the restaurant was packed. The waiter took care of my order as soon as he could, and he apologized for the wait. Even though he was checking on me while I was waiting for my order I did not feel overwhelmed. Overall, Applebee's is a restaurant that you must try if you are in Great Bend. It has cheap prices, tasty food, and the environment makes you want to come back. Without a shadow of a doubt, I would recommend Applebee's. read more

In general, I would not recommend going here. We waited quite a while to be seated, and when the people I was with asked a staff member about it, she simply said someone would be with us shortly. Still, we had to wait much longer. The hostess showed poor manners by taking so long to seat us without offering an apology. Our waitress was also busy working the bar in addition to serving our table. While she did her best, it took far too long for us to get our food, and when it finally arrived, the fries were somewhat stale. No one came to check on us after serving our food, and it wasn't until we were about to leave that they asked how everything was. read more

Genuinely waited 15+ minutes for a server to greet our table in a near empty restaurant with multiple servers walking by us. After 10 minutes we had asked the host to get our server, she walked directly back to the host stand and did not tell anyone we were here. When we finally had someone come to our table, 5-10 minutes after telling the host, they smelled like fresh cigarette smoke. Crazy long smoke break if you ask me. This Applebees is HORRIBLE!!! Staff have no customer service skills to speak of. They could care less if you want to eat here or not. And the food is just as bad. I would rather go into the grocery store and eat dry cereal then eat at this Applebees. And make sure you don't get their mixed drinks! ***changed from a 2 to a 1 after leaving. We never got served after waiting an hour for 2 beers. The young, male manager asked us if we got our beers as we put our coats on and got up. Day late and a dollar short. Completely understaffed the Sunday before Christmas. Our waitress (who was great) quit mid shift during our meal. We then waited 45 mins for another waitress to notice us. A full hour between drinks. My boyfriend wanted to wait. So we did. I was impatient and annoyed that we didn't have service for that long. We grabbed the manager who apologized and offered us a free dessert, saying the bar was backed up. We ordered 2 draught beers. Instead of a dessert go help out the bar! Good start. Awesome hearing a customer complain to manager Joseph about the increased price of long islands and the managers says "it's because the retards upstairs thought it was a good idea." So disrespectful to the customer, upper management, every other customer, and to people with disabilities. Other customers at the bar talked inappropriately and staff and management was ok with their foul language. The only positive was the young girl cleaning tables and cleaning the bathroom. Never know what to expect. Did Applebee's lose their direction. Over the years they have had dishes I really like a d it seems I must be the only one that likes them because they get dropped from the menu. The salad was good. The Salmon was consistent Applebee's quality ( overcooked ) and the vegetables were undercooked. Go figure. I eat at Applebee's if its the only choice. Came here pretty regularly during our stay in GB. The first night I came with my boss. I got the maple bacon chicken piadini wrap (no longer on the menu) and split the butter pecan blondie. For some reason, I had a coupon for a free entree, as I think the lunch portion didn't come out in a certain amount of time (I think it was 15 minutes or less). I got the triple hog sandwich first off- a monstrosity of pulled pork, ham, and bacon topped with crispy onion strings (also no longer on the menu). Our waitress was amazing. She asked us many times if we needed anything else, and she was supper nice even with our large group. After we got our food however, she never came back. Far from a good experience. Only 3 tables were occupied by customers and no employees to be found for 10 minutes prior to being seated. Wait staff showed no interest in taking orders, much less providing menu's or even remaining in the lobby to provide service. After a 40 minute wait, with only 3 tables occupied, we left. Damian J was awesome!!! Deserves a raise! Our only disappointment was to hear that Applebee's still has not replaced their blender and is still unable to make our favorite drink - mucho mudslide. However, the reality is they still can't make anything on the menu that requires a blender. We think it's a bit sad that the company has not replaced their blender yet....I mean should I just go to the Walmart behind the restaurant and purchase an Oyster and bring it with me when I visit this Applebee's? Just ate at this location. It was late and choice in Great Bend was limited. The restaurant was dirty and disorganized. The service was slow and the servers got the orders wrong. This was going on at every table around us. I don't expect great things from Applebee's but this was the worst. Do not use the curbside service. The breadsticks were hard as a rock and no alfredo sauce came with them as ordered. The bowl of tortilla soup came in a tiny container, half full and cold. The shrimp was raw in the wonton shrimp dinner and the broccoli hard. The French fries that came with a wrap were in a container that was not even half full. It contained 8 small fries. I went to Applebee's to eat and spend a good time with my friend from Brazil, we got tired of Cafeterias food. I invited her to go with me, I had three criteria for my evaluation. First of all the atmosphere of the place, the price of the food and the quality of the food. The atmosphere of the place is calm, all the time playing songs that made me relax, the place is also clean and smells violets flowers. The price of the food can change if you go after 9 p.m., there is a half-price and almost all the plates cost 4-7 dollars. For me, is a good option to go at this time and enjoying saving my money. The quality of the food is amazing because of the restaurant offer the real plate that is showing in the menu, I am sure that the select the best products to make the foods, as a result, the taste is incrible If you want to save money, have a good time with friends, and eat good food you should go to the restaurant after 9 p.m. read more

The server was obviously preoccupied with her boy friend as they were smacking in the corner. She actually laid down in the booth to "hide" from others. She was seen by another employee who did nothing. The manager was too busy entertaining his family to notice. The entire experience as HORRIBLE. Applebee's is the place for college students in Great Bend! Sunday night is the night, starting at nine they offer half-price appetizers. I always get the honey bbq wings, which are delicious, especially dunked in the ranch. Sunday nights also feature their karaoke night, making a fun thrill for you and your friends to go sing and dance. The service may be a little slow, but I understand considering the place is packed. Tonight I was served by Ryanne, she was very friendly, and although she was busy, she did amazing. We were from out of town with a party of15. They were very accommodating. The wait was only about 7-8 minutes. The waitress was very sweet. Refilling our drinks constantly. I ordered the 6oz sirloin and sweet potatoes with green beans, My husband had the baby back ribs.. we both were happy with our dinners as was the rest of our party... there were a couple mix-ups because of a new cook, but our waitress quickly fixed the two orders.
