My friends and I love to go to Applebee's for half-off appetizers. The food and service are usually pretty good. Tonight was karaoke night, so the restaurant was very busy. The service was a little slow, but our server was very nice and made sure we always had something to drink. I ordered the tomato basil soup; it was bland and cold. The atmosphere was fun, and karaoke night was entertaining as always. read more

Applebee's is the place for college students in Great Bend! Sunday night is the night, starting at nine they offer half-price appetizers. I always get the honey bbq wings, which are delicious, especially dunked in the ranch. Sunday nights also feature their karaoke night, making a fun thrill for you and your friends to go sing and dance. The service may be a little slow, but I understand considering the place is packed. Tonight I was served by Ryanne, she was very friendly, and although she was busy, she did amazing. Overall, if you have nothing else to do, Sunday night at Applebee's will leave you with a full stomach and a smile on your face! read more

Service was a little slow but nothing to get worked up about. The help is friendly and the food is good old Applebee's. You can't really go wrong there. read more

We were from out of town with a party of15. They were very accommodating. The wait was only about 7-8 minutes. The waitress was very sweet. Refilling our drinks constantly. I ordered the 6oz sirloin and sweet potatoes with green beans, My husband had the baby back ribs.. we both were happy with our dinners as was the rest of our party... there were a couple mix-ups because of a new cook, but our waitress quickly fixed the two orders. We would return if we came here again. read more

I can't say how the food was because we got up and left. We were immediately seated today and the hostess, who was trying hard, told us what she would recommend. We waited for our server for quite awhile. She finally came to get our drink order and she never came back. The table next to us was irritated, they were wanting to pay. We waited at least 15 minutes and we got up and left. Hostess was bringing out food, no one even noticed we left. Never again! read more

Ordered a fiesta salad to go. Got there a little early and they were just putting the order in which was fine. Waited about 10 minutes which was also fine. They handed me my salad in a plastic bag and the salad was sideways in it instead of flat on the bottom. They also included a knife, fork and napkin. Did not include and condiments like salt and pepper. Salad tastes good but was very small for the price. Not sure if dining in provide a bigger salad or not. read more

When my family of 5 got to Applebees at 7:30 on a Wednesday night there weren't many other people dining at the time, I had such high expectations as my family usually loves the Applebee's here. However, this was a terrible experience from the moment we walked through the doors. We were never greeted upon entering. Two of the Staff were talking at the hostess desk and we waited to be spoken to until they were done laughing and joking. At this point the hostess basically told my husband "go sit where ever you would like." She followed about a minute behind us and told us our waitress name, gave my kids their color pages, and laid menus down. Around 10 minutes later and my the waiter at the table next to us took care of both his tables, we have not been even asked what we would like to drink yet. Another 10 minutes and the waitress that was laughing with the hostess as we walked in, walks past our table and slows to double glance at the fact we do not have drinks yet. We let another 5 minutes pass before we walked out completely. the hostess was holding the doors for another couple walking out. She never once said "thank you", "have a nice day", or more importantly "you just got here is there something wrong to make you leave so soon?" Anyhow Applebee's just lost my family as customers completely and I can only hope that this type of service does not happen frequently. read more

I go to Applebee's all the time. I have been to many all around Kansas which have all been great. However this one did not have the best tasting food it was ether overcooked. The service was wonderful though couldn't ask for better. read more

As there are very few restaurants to choose from in Great Bend this place lands in one of the top spots to go out to eat. The best part is the food isn't very expensive so you're not going to break the bank! The food isn't bad but they seem to be very inconsistent, you could order the same meal every time you go to Applebee's and have it be different each time. The service is very slow often times talking thirty or more minutes to get your meal. read more

Eh, it was ok. The service was decent and the food could have been better. I just feel like Applebee's is over hyped. I've been before and haven't really liked the food but I always go back to see if anything has changed, it hasn't. read more

The half price apps are usually a good deal. I like to order the blanco cheese dip. The servers are very nice. However I have never had a good steak there. And they have the worst, chewiest, hard and burnt ribs I have ever had. All in all it would be a great place if the cooks could cook. read more

The worst service ever. The steak I ordered was amazing, but the actual time it took to get it, redact that our drunks never got refilled, I had to walk up to the bar and ask for a drink and then the rudest female bartender ignored me for ten minutes while she stood talking to the waitresses who were all gathered gossiping. It too forever to get out of there by no-one paid any attention to anything, we could have probably left with out paying. However, we did leave a decent tip, but only because my husband is nice. Had it been me paying I would not have left anything for the rude little girl waiting on me, too concerned with flirting with some other gentleman guest at the bar, than giving us decent service. Hands down the worst Applebees ever read more

The service was terrible. The waitress messed up all four orders, had to ask another server for napkins, then was busy taking selfies while we waited for the bill. The final straw was when she didn't bring back the check or the change, needless to say her tip took a big hit fir that stunt. Everyone like the food they didn't order just not the service. read more

When me and my fiance went into applebees it was in the middle of the day which is slow so we were expecting good service but we were wayy wrong. The waiter was right there for our drink order but when we were trying to look through our menu every minute she was there interrupting us and asking, i didnt know there was a thing of too much service existed until now. Finally we picked something to shut her up. The time we got our food and appetizer was excellent, all the food was hot and delicious. Whenever we tried to eat and talk to each other the waitress was always there bugging the living hell out of us. Now the reason i gave 2 stars instead of one is because the food was on time and it was great but make sure your waitresses know how to do their jobs. She acted like she hated the place and never once smiled or spoke in a happy kind of tone. read more

Applebee's on a karaoke night was what I was expecting, a loud night with some good and some bad singers filled with half priced apps. An organized night... until we ordered. Our waitress took forever to get us drinks and when she finally took our order she had to go over it five times to make sure it was correct. Our drinks were empty most of the night, and when we finally received our food, that was the last time our drinks were filled for the night. When we were ready to pay we waited forever as our waitress was involved in one of the songs that was being sung. We waited 30 minutes for her to come back with our cards and change and finally our night was over. The manager realized that we had some bad service and came over to apologize and say he would give us a discount next time. So our night didn't end terribly and I am now considering going back to Applebee's for another karaoke night to see what else it has in store for my friends and I. read more

We've been here a few times in the past and have gotten decent food, drink and service. This time however, was different. For some reason they were out of Sam Adams on tap, which is the only beer they have that my husband will drink. He absolutely will not touch the watery domestics that pass themselves off as beer. So instead he had water, might as well go all the way. The waiter brought his glass out and it had a filthy, greasy film all around the inside of his glass. Needless to say we sent it back. It was about this time that I noticed one of the waitresses was paying a lot of attention to the table just on the other side of the divider from ours but it was technically in the bar. She was hanging around this table, pretty much socializing with them. Ok she knows them, I think it's a tiny town no big deal. I turn my attention to my own group. By the time we're at a 15 minute ticket time I hear that other waitress go back to the next table with some food. I'm really not trying to pay attention but they are literally only inches away. I become aware that she's saying something about possibly comping some or all of their meal because a 14 minute ticket time is ridiculous. Finally our food comes out after about a total of 20 or so minutes, and by the way they are not that busy. The food was pretty good, about what you'd expect from Applebee's nothing that stands out. My salad only had four little pieces of chicken on it and there was some brown lettuce in there, It was served on a plate that was not chilled but also had fingerprints all around the edge. I normally would have sent this back but by that time I was so hungry that I just ignored it. They forgot the sauce for my husband's sandwich, and his fork had food all stuck between the tines. Then I chanced to look back over at the other table and I was very surprised to see that the waitress from earlier was now sitting down and not only chating with the other guests but she was eating off the guy's plate. My husband had noticed it too and we thought maybe she doesn't really work here. But no she had a name tag and an apron and after a while she comes back to our section to give a check to these other ladies who had been waiting and waiting but obviously too nice to say anything. Then she goes back to that other table and continues eating. We shook our heads and said wow, just wow. Ok so we're done with our meal the waiter brings us our check, and by the way I've had an empty glass for a while now and he never notices. Then my husband says wait a minute we'd like desert. It figures when you don't want desert they pester you; then the one time you do want it they act like they've never heard of it before. So we order a Blondie and ask him to bring some plates. He brings the desert, three spoons and two plates. There are three of us. But in all fairness he was probably expecting one of us to eat off the plate the Blondie was on. My husband looks down at the new plate and fork and just laughs. The plate had a nice greasy film on it and the fork again had food stuck in the tines. We ask the waiter for a new, clean plate and fork and the manager. He tries to take the dirty ones and I said no I think I'll keep them for a minute. The manager comes over, He's been tending bar this whole time. I show him the plate and fork and ask if he'd eat with those and of course he said he wouldn't. He asks how our visit has gone and we start to tell him, quietly, politely. We don't believe in causing a scene. I say we started to tell him but he wouldn't even hear us out. He shut us down immediately, then he begins spouting nothing but excuses. They ran out of beer because "somebody" didn't order enough. Their dishes are dirty because they just got a new water softener. He has to work behind the bar because they are short-staffed today. That just made us mad, all this kid is about is making excuses and blaming everybody but himself. He's the General Manager for crying out loud. If they run out of something that's the management's fault. If the staff isn't cleaning the dishes properly that's the management's fault. So I politely ask him if its company policy to let their employees eat off of the guest's plates in front of other guests, and socialize while they're on the clock, ignoring their other tables. He said well no I don't normally let them do that but that's her family and they're just visiting. I wanted to sit this young man down and explain to him what being a manager means. It probably wouldn't occur to him that other guests see this young lady as a representative of the company, and the other guests don't know that the people she's eating with is her family. He doesn't know that it's unprofessional and that he should have had her take off her name tag and just sit and have a quick lunch with her family. He's probably never been taught that cutting off a customer's concerns and making excuses only makes things worse. read more

This was my first time back to Applebee's in about 2 years. I figured my daughter and I could try it out since they have some new things on the menu. Our experience was torn. It took a while for our waiter to come get our drink order so we were ready to order when he brought us or drinks. First off he gave my 5 yr old daughter a adult glass that was full to the brim. When my daughter lifted it to take a drink and spilled some in her lap it finally occurred to him to ask if he should bring her a kids cup. We waited a while for our food. I have to say my artisan grilled chicken sandwich was one of the best chicken sandwiches I have ever eaten. My daughters grilled cheese was good too then she smiled at me and asked if she was supposed to eat her yogurt with her fork. It took us at least 5 min to flag the waiter down to get a spoon and another 5-10 min for him to bring it to us. So that time it was warm. If they are going to offer yogurt as a side they need to bring a spoon out. Then we had to wait for 10 minutes after we were done eating to get our check. So we learned the cook on this day was doing great but the service still is terrible. read more

went there 0n August 26,2017 at 6;00 P.M., very few customers there, after about five minutes a server came and took our drink order and also food order. Other patrons came in and noticeably were getting there food served reasonable time. Server came by our table and said she had trouble putting our order in but it would be out soon. OK finally at 7:15 our food came, my husband ordered a steak medium, baked potato and brocilli well the steak could have been used as a frisbe it was cold and his baked potato was cold. I ordered the oriental schrimp and chicken mine the potatoes could have been used as hockey pucks. The manager who was quite flippant seemed unconcerned but said she would void the charges. Will we go back???You be the judge. read more

The food was good, but the service wasn't. Three of my friends and I went to eat and our server came about two times. Once to take our drinks and food order and another to give us our ticket. The host refilled our water and other workers brought us our food. He messed up on two of our orders bringing the wrong flavor of wings to the table. We had to constantly ask for more ranch after we told him to bring extra when we ordered our food. When it came time to pay he didn't ask if we saved room for desert. And when we asked for our ticket he had forgotten and was counting his tips at a table that wasn't being occupied. He sat down counting tips more than paying attention to his tables and serving them. I highly do not recommend going to Applebee's in Great Bend, KS anymore. They need to work on serving their customers and making their experience at Applebee's one to remember, instead of one to dread. read more

HORRIBLE! Only good thing I can say is our waiter was great. Was in town visiting family, my husband & I took our four children out to eat, called multiple times to check for seating availability never got an answer, went anyway, was seated right next to the door even though there were several better seating areas available, no big deal, we're not picky. Again, waiter was wonderful keeping the kids cups full however after waiting quite a while, he had to come out & let us know the kitchen was backed up, would be a bit. Still no big deal, we were enjoying each others company. The group of employees by the door were a little annoying with the giggling & horseplay, but we were able to ignore them & continue to enjoy our own company. Once we finally got our food, we realized my husbands sandwich had completely wrong bread on it. When I asked the waitress what it was, she told me she didn't know & would get the manager. Manager appears & tells us they had to use potato bread because they didn't have the correct buns. We had already waited too long, so we told him it was fine, we'll keep it, had no desire to sit & wait any longer. Would have been nice to have been informed earlier, he would have picked something else. Now, I'm a little irritated, but decided to just enjoy the company. With in 10 min of getting our food, the little group behind us that waits for customers to come in were still doing a lot of giggling & screwing around when I felt something hit me quite hard in the back of the head then heard what sounded like a coin hitting the floor. Now, I'm angry. I turn to look at the group when a giggling young lady ran over & picked up the coin. I continued to glare at the group until getting their attention at which time I asked if we had a problem & informed them that they had just hit me in the back of the head with the coin. The young lady looks at me & says "Did I hit you? I'm sorry." however, do to the fact that the group began to laugh then run towards the back, I really didn't feel the sincerity of her apology. At the same time my youngest son pulls a hair from his baked potato!!!!!!! ABSOLUTELY REDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!! Never had such poor service anywhere! One of the young ladies did come over when she overheard me talking to my family about how angry I was & said she was so sorry & that she had told the group not to do that there & she would talk to the manager. This kind of behavior should NOT be going on ANYWHERE in there! They are damn lucky they didn't hit one of my kids or someone in the eye! Would NEVER come there again, & would advise others not to until major changes go on. No excuse for this kind of behavior.! read more

AWFUL service. Worst I have ever had in my life. We asked the host for a booth and she kept trying to seat us at a table because there "werent any booths available" when we saw several, they just werent cleaned off. Obviously our first hint that this was a lazy staff. Then it took the waitress 7 minutes to visit our table to get our drink orders. If it seemed to be crazy busy we would have understood, but it didnt seem busy at all. Then it took her nearly 5 minutes to bring us our drinks. When we finally ordered our food it took 40 minutes to get our food (two steaks one medium and one medium rare. That doesnt take 40 minutes). By that time our drinks were empty and our waitress didnt once check to refill drinks or inform us that our food was going to take longer. Once we got our food and she brought us refilled drinks she didnt visit us until she brought us our check. She never asked if our steaks were cooked right for us (which they weren't) or anything. If you are looking for good american food with good service I suggest The Page which is next to Perkins. They are AMAZING. Far better than this Applebee's. read more
