We stopped in for an early dinner and happened to hit Happy Hour. My family had chips and salsa, beers, pizza, steak, spaghetti and a kids meal and our meal was so cheap and so delicious. My husband has not stopped raving about his pizza. I haven't had steak in so long because it's pricey where we live so I was excited to have one. The only recommendation I would have for the kids menu is that they double the portion of spaghetti and take away the side. Our server was excellent. So, finding a place to eat where we weren't jerks for coming in at 830PM when they close at 9 was kind of hard. We didn't mean to eat so late but they way our schedules were, it was a must. What turned us on to coming to The Page was the fact that they close at 10PM and that we knew where it was (we ate breakfast next door earlier in the day.) We walk in at 830 and I immediately feel like this was a mistake. Sure there were others in here but it seemed like they were winding down. The first thing our server said to us was that she really wanted to go home. Which makes sense because not only was she pretty pregnant but she this was her second shift of the day. Luckily, I felt a bit better when another couple rolled in 15 minutes after us. It seemed as if the staff was leaving because a lot of them were either eating at the bar or screaming at each other (not mean, just across the room kind of stuff) about how they were leaving and how they couldn't wait to get out of there. it was like a scene out of Waiting. The best part of this restaurant was that they were bussing tables. I don't know if it was because they were all trying to leave or because this is how service is set but let me tell you I super appreciate not having to walk through old food and dirty dishes, watching flies circle hungrily. The portions and the price here were amazing. I mean we spent about $50 for the two of us. In Las Vegas, it would have been $50 EACH at least for a steak meal. While the food wasn't something I'd write home about, it fed us and it didn't taste bad so we were happy. As a matter of fact, the portions were so large we decided to stop eating out for breakfast, bought some eggs and had steaks and eggs in our hotel kitchen. Potato soup seemed house made as it was a bit grainy (like a roux would make it) but it was super tasty. The white gravy for the mashed potatoes was a bit stiff so we didn't eat it but those potatoes made a good patty fried up with my scrambled eggs the next morning. The steaks weren't exactly cooked to my liking but they again were good the next day with eggs. A good place to get palatable food later later in the evening. read more

Could not be happier that we came in here after a long day of sightseeing. The restaurant is clean, quiet and comfortable. We sat at the bar and Paxtin was wonderful! She made good drinks and was attentive and friendly. When we told her my husband's birthday was a few days ago and the restaurant we went to wasn't great so we didn't order dessert she made sure the cheesecake we ordered was special. I was drawn to this place because they had a Reuben. I asked the waitress what she thought about it. She was kind of hesitant and said that she never had one before, but she sells quite a few. Before I left, I let her know that I travel quite a bit in the state. I told her that it was one of the best Rubens in the state. She was pretty surprised. The group I go to lunch with will no longer go there and after finding a hard old piece of chicken in my buffalo dipping sauce today neither will I. Started out with the Italian side salad...big portion covered with olives and tomatoes, only complaint is the size of Romain pieces, just too big! Foodie options are scarce in Great Bend. This was a decent place to eat. Side salad and sweet biscuit was fine. Had the bourbon glazed chicken and baked potato which was also good. I ate at the bar. 4 1/2 Stars. I like the casual, yet sophisticated and cozy feel of The Page. Each time I have eaten there, the food has been excellent. I recently ordered a delivery through DoorDash, on a night when the roads were icy. Not only was the order delivered warm/very promptly, but it was also delicious. I had the Lime Chipotle Bistro Steak with a side of garlic mashed potatoes served with a tasty, slightly-spiced cream-based gravy on the side and their side salad. It also came with a small, ordinary roll (from a grocery store). The steak was prepared just as I had asked for it and was very tasty (it was actually chunks of steak which was fine, as it saved me having to cut it ha ... and I thought it was reasonably priced accordingly, so I was able to satisfy my desire for steak without having to pay over $20). Nothing disappointed except for the roll, which as I said, was small and store-bought. The disappointment in the roll however would definitely not keep me from dining in or ordering again from The Page. Next time I would perhaps ask if there is a bread or other substitute for the roll (unless I find out there was a specific reason that a store-bought roll was served that night, due to some circumstance I don't know about). Food was great ! The service sucked to be honest. We sat and waited 20+ minutes for somebody to take our order. I was asked if I needed my water refilled part way through our meal, and it never got refilled. We sat around for ** minutes after we're done eating waiting for a server to take our card and receipt off the edge of the table (side note: they brought the receipt almost immediately after we got our food, and it still took that long to pay?! really?!). It really seems like the servers put minimal effort into their jobs, and they need to be much more attentive towards customers needs. For some reason, I had been thinking this place was in Hays. But now, I remember we came here after driving from Hays to work on a project here in GB. Nice exterior, but felt more like a sports bar on the inside. I got the Santa Fe wrap for $9.79- fajita chicken, cheese, onion, lettuce, tomato, and ranch and served with tortilla chip, a nice touch. I am in Great Bend at least 3-4 times per month for work. I go to The Page for dinner almost every night I am there. I sit at the bar and always have the best service. The staff is kind, quick to refill your drink, and very friendly. So far all of the food I have ordered has been great, but the scallops are the best. I mean fast, efficient, friendly, knew when there was a problem and even though it wasn't her fault she took some off the bill as compensation. The chicken fried steak was preformed, higher grade than most, but preformed. It had a few good craft beers on the menu. But they really need descriptions along with the names. Being in such a small town there isn't always a lot of options for food. The page is supposed to be one of the nicer restaurants in Great Bend, but that's not what I got from my experience. This review is based on the taste of the food, service, and atmosphere. The taste of the food wasn't all that great atleast not from my own experience or the people who were with me. Everything was extremely salty and that made it hard to eat. I would be up for trying it again, but that was my experience for the first time. The service in the page was friendly. Everyone I talked with was very kind and helpful. Our waitress was very understanding when we told her our food was super salty and even gave us a discount on our food. Overall the service was great. The atmosphere was pretty quiet. There wasn't any music playing in the background and there was only two other diners there. We did go between lunch and dinner so that could have affected the atmosphere. In conclusion if you're looking for friendly service and decent food I would suggest the page. If you're watching your salt intake maybe not so much. Overall the page is a decent restaurant. read more

The Page generally has the best food in town. At least, it the most consistent, in terms of quality. The steaks here are generally about as good as you'll find anywhere. Burgers, chicken fried steak, chicken picata; all very good. They also have very good appetizers. The chicken strips can be overcooked at times. When they serve fries, they are lattice fries. Not really my favorite, but nothing wrong with them. I only gave The Page 3 stars, however. The big knock on The Page is the service. They are consistently understaffed and have trouble keeping up. They are slow to take your order, slow to bring you food, slow to refill drinks, and you often have to get a waiter/waitress' attention to get anything. If you have time and/or if you go in during the "off hours," the Page is a great place to eat. Good food and you'll enjoy it. If you go in when they are busy or if you are in a hurry, you'll probably be frustrated. read more

The server we had was great! The bartender was great! The food not so great! We arrived at 8.00pm for a nice meal to be drowned out by the other waitress vacuuming all around the tables. There were about 5 guys at the bar, about 6 tables with people eating!! Why are you cleaning when the restaurant is so full!!! The vacuuming happened at 3 different times! Pretty high prices, but it's all hand made from recipe for the vast majority of the meals they offer. They hand cut their steaks and offer KC strips, Ribeys, sirloins, marinated bistro steak, and Filet mignon. Wish they'd do more than just pepper the meat, but it's still great. They use a flame broiler to cook the steaks too. They have great plate presentation for each meal, the environment is family oriented/appropriate, the service depends on what time of day you show up, but is mostly good, their Kitchen Manager is very great at his job, and a very awesome cook. They do seem to be under staffed currently (6/10/2021) so new hires and too few servers and cooks can make for a long wait at the busiest times occasionally, but I've enjoyed every meal I've had there and will be regularly returning. Cleanliness is a 8/10 I'd say too, they are great with updated COVID precautions. The managers check on you to make sure things are enjoyed and in good order. It's a great restaurant, and had great food. Burgers, steaks, wraps, salads, sandwiches, appetizers, fried steak, fried chicken, good deserts, with new items added occasionally to keep things fresh.
