I would give zero stars because they don't deserve anything!!! I went to this place to eat lunch and the service was horrible. Janay or whatever her name is, was very rude and disrespectful. During this ordeal she did not bring the drink out that I requested and my daughter had to go to the bar to ask for the drink. When the food finally arrived, it was cold. I ordered nachos and the cheese was still intact and the queso was cold and nasty. She took the food back and returned it. It was burned at this time and hard. Food turned out great l got my complimentary dessert for my birthday reward. I ordered the bourbon chicken and shrimp which is one of my favorite entrees. the mashed potatoes are so creamy and delicious also. The food comes to you piping hot so be sure to wait 5-7 minutes before digging in. The only reason l am giving it a 2 star review is because l wrote in a $7 20% tip and l was later charged for my birthday dessert but my total was $10 more than what l anticipated on paying. I am still trying to process what it was that made this server the server from hell. This is the rudest service I have ever experienced. Talk about poor service. This guy was holding seats at the bar for ppl that never showed up. I came to find out the bar tender just saves seats for his friends. He also dismisses everyone at the bar as well. I left my phone in the bathroom because i am on crutches and that somehow indicated to the bar tender that I was drunk despite him only serving me a glass of wine. Absolutely disgusting. Went in during "happy hour" and sat at the bar, hoping to drink a few and eat. As I drank my beer, I noticed several places where the roof was leaking water onto the floor and several tables (probably from the air conditioning). The beer was also lukewarm and poured with 90% head and left to settle. But the piece de resistance was when the bartender literally went wrist deep into her pants and scratched her buttcrack. Two stars is two too many. Stopped in for a quick bite on our way to a concert in Dallas. The host at the door looked at us and said us as we walked in so where do you want to sit. Almost 30 minutes later we have our wine and water and that's about it. The service is so poor here. They obviously don't care about their patrons. Crossing our fingers our food comes out ok. We should have read the reviews before eating here. We can't around noon and there were only three other patrons at the establishment. We thought we had beat the rush. Even with such few people there, we still didn't get the greatest service. We constantly had to wave down our waitress. The sad part is that we wanted to support local businesses and tip out the team well. We constantly saw staff on social media it talking about what they wanted to do for the new year festivities. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION!!!!!!! If I could give no stars, I would. It is absolutely disgusting, the service is just as disappointing as the employees. I had 2 to go orders that were supposed to be complete by 10pm and weren't done until 10:50pm and no one wanted to update me on my orders. I had to stop employees in their tracks to get help and even then I was approached with an attitude. There were people in the kitchen who clearly work there or have in the past, just coming in and out getting the things they needed for their table. NO GLOVES, NO SANITATION. When I say the employees, service and location were absolutely disgusting, I mean utterly disgusting. There was another employee smoking a black and mild in the dinning area as he was walking out of the kitchen. These employees were standing around literally doing nothing, talking a table of people they all knew, except for one girl with red and black box braids. She was actually working but with an attitude, given they were terribly understaffed. The entire staff, including the manager Tony needs to get proper training to run a franchise establishment. The employees do not take their manager seriously and none of them take their job seriously. Lastly, the location is supposed to be open until 2am. They tried to lock the doors at 11pm because they were so understaffed and unorganized. If they can't get the correct training, the entire staff should be let go and hire new staff who is more qualified and equipped to work in a restaurant. I didn't mind waiting for my orders, but how bad it smelled in there, the health precautions that they are failing to take with covid-19 and just in general, the disappointing and again disgusting service, the attitudes, and lack of slight hospitality, made me write this review Don't even waste your time, trying to give it a chance thinking your experience will be different or you'll go with the "good" reviews. Friendly service, but not much else good to say. Cheese on my French onion soup wasn't fully melted, yet alone browned. But what you need to know, is that this place is more like a neighborhood bar with people LOUDLY shouting to each other (playfully) across the bar area. Super distracting and not at all relaxing. Met a friend for a drink as this is one of his favorite places. They have a jukebox with decent music options, many TVs to watch the game, drinks are reasonably priced and they are open till 2am every day of the week. My only complaint is the staff seemed a little less than enthusiastic to be there. The hostess stand was unmanned a lot. I watched as people walked in and no one to seat them so they seated themselves & there were some elderly ladies with walkers who needed assistance with the doors but once again, no hostess to be found. This was the best Applebee's experience ever. Great music, great people, good food. It was definitely a vibe.

No where on that receipt does it say that the total had to include a tip. This morning I saw a notification stating that said "Your transaction at Applebee's has been updated from $145.50 (which was my total without a tip) to include tip. Your new tip is $165.50." There was a group of 4 of us that ordered and I did not tip. I am the one whose card the total on. I did not tip because (1) we wanted a bigger booth for a more comfortable space but we were lied to by the host and told that it was not open and had to sit at a smaller booth. They proceeded to place another group in the spot we asked to be at and that group only had about 3-4 people as well. (2) The waitress did not repeat our order to make sure it was right so one of my friends food was wrong. She was suppose to have Steak but was given chicken. My friend said it was fine as long as we werent charged for her steak. (3) The waitress didnt ask about how to cook my steak and I wasnt thinking to ask but when I got it, it was well done so it was hard. I ask them to cook it Med-well and it looked like a different type of steak came back out and it was still cooked the same way (well done, dry and hard) . (4) My other friend ordered two meals one to eat there and a 2nd to take home in which he asked the 2nd to be made closer to when we were finished and in a to-go box but it was brought out with the rest of the food. Which meant it was gonna be cold by the time we got home, which it was. (5) Then the waitress tried to also charge me my specific order (which was $24.48) twice. I am very displeased with the experience and service, or lacktherof I experienced last night at the Applebee's at 810 S. Cockrell Hill Rd, Duncanville, Tx 75137. It is apparent that the guy manager is every employee's friend and they do not respect his leadership. Upon ordering I ordered a water with lemon. The waiter, Cameron J. brought my table 3 waters. I inquired about my lemons and he stated he" was busy" with an attitude, meanwhile there was hardly anyone in the establishment as it was late and cold outside and only 2 booths he was servicing in our section. His attitude was strike 1. 2nd strike was I ordered an appetizer, spinach dip which didn't make it to my table until after my entree. Cameron J. never came and gave me an update on the timing or delays of the appetizer or anything. So upon tabbing out it took Cameron 30+ almost 40 minutes to come get my table's cards from the table and run them. So I see Cameron sitting on the job and socializing with a coworker not far from the bar so I went over and got his attention to tell him we were ready to close our tabs and go. He immediately got upset and stated " You didn't have to do all that!" Apparently he thought we were supposed to just sit there all night waiting for him to finish socializing and fraternizing. He then proceeds to state "We can take this outside!". At this point I'm livid because we waited patiently for so long and his attitude was distasteful and unprofessional. The entire time he's yelling and causing a scene the older male manager was at a booth on the same side sitting down, looking and aware of how problematic Cameron J. was being, allowing him to make threats and be disrespectful. Cameron then shoves my sister as she was getting up to defuse the now escalated situation. Thankfully the cop with some sense came to disengage the near altercation since the manager didn't say or even attempt to do anything. Cameron J. And the manager on duty tonight are both liabilities to Applebee's and as a result should be terminated. The staff was doing whatever they wanted to do, sitting down, socializing with each other, and not checking on us, the paying patrons. As the night went on the 2 occupied booths also had to hunt Cameron down to close out their tabs. Patrons should not have to wait 40mins+ to get their cards ran when only 2 booths are occupied in the entire establishment. It seemed Cameron J. did not want to work and neither did the manager on duty. The timestamp on my receipt is 12:37AM on 2/13/21 After this experience I will NEVER be eating at Applebee's again. Worst applebees EVER. So this review is about to get brutally honest. Went to the Cockrell Hill Rd Applebees on 01/24/19 at around 715 PM, when we arrived the customers in attendance were minimal and there were about 6 or 7 servers, we opted to sit in the bar area. After being seated we watched as several servers walked around but did not acknowledge us, finally after 10 minutes our waiter passed by us and said he'd be right with.... Five minutes later he was back to take our order of unlimited riblets, fried shrimp and two beers. Twenty minutes later the food arrives....rubbery unappealing fried shrimp and riblets that were warm and doused in bbq sauce. The food was not that good as a matter of fact we tried to change it up and got instead chicken fingers and riblets...two words about that ...THEY SUCKED. The fingers were overcooked, hard and dry and this time the riblets were undercooked. We then wanted to get a pitcher of Bud light, we asked the waiter and off he went, 10 minutes later the waiter comes back and tells us "we only have two pitchers and both are being used" ( mind blowing) He also once one was freed up he would get it to us. Thank you but no thank you. All in all, this was $50 worth of a very bad experience. Come on Applebees I've seen better and I know you can be better. read more

This Applebee's is terrible. Our Waitress was great but management and the bar tender KALEB was horrible. Service was slow took forever to get our food. The bartender Kaleb was rude he messed up our drinks they were very watered down. The manager MARK did NOTHING to rectify our situation and claimed there was nothing he could do about it. Terrible service. Got here at 10:45 pm. Got seated on a dirty table. Was asking someone to get it cleaned 3 times before someone came. Waiter didn't even greet us for another 10 minutes. Then asked about drinks but nothing with food after sitting here for approximately 15 min. Food orders were placed maybe 10 min after. Our waiter didn't write anything down. Didn't see him for another 5 min or so. He comes back out saying he is waiting on our drink order so going on about 25-30 min with no food or drink not even a water. Later appetizer comes out. We see the party next to us calling for a manager because of the same waiter. We requested to switch our waiter after he almost takes our appetizer from us.
