My friend and I came in today for a meal serving us Veterans. It was about noon time. We were told we would have at least a10 to 15 min wait. It wasn't 2 mins when the host came and got us. We were seated then we waited for someone to ask us what we wanted to drink. We sat there for 15 mins and I told my friend If we don't have anyone within the next 5 minutes, we're walking out. 3 mins to go when Maddie walked over to us and asked us if we had been waited on. . I told her NOPE. She apologized to us that we had not been waited on. She made sure we had something to drink and then took our order. This young lady apologized for the miscommunication between the waitresses. She needs to be commended for her service. Thank you Maddie for taking our orders. You're AWESOME! Traveling and ordered two 8oz well done sirloin steak dinners / neighborhood nachos. All meat was unsatisfactory. Order was for pick up so if ordering at this location please check meat upon arrival to be sure it's cooked correctly. The steaks were undercooked pink/ red the beef nachos were completely overcooked. The scoop of mashed potatoes for both to go dishes were small then smaller. We do not recommend pick-up orders at this Applebee's without checking food before leaving. read more

We were on the way to Marietta GA to meet up with my Daughter and her family from California and my two sons and their families from the Atlanta area. Susan is diabetic and tries to eat at certain proscribed times. Original plans were to hit Cracker Barrel in Commerce GA but it was over an hour wait. At the same exit, there was this Applebee's so we tried there. Big mistake. For an appetizer, we had the Fried Mozzarella Sticks which were still cold and devoid of any heat I had the Whisky Bacon Burger and while it was suppose to be medium rare as opposed to extra crispy. So overcooked it was almost inedible. Wive had the Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad and she indicated it was not bad. Service was only fair but restaurant was not even crowded., They explained that several servers had called off and they were short staffed. This was evident by the number of tables that had not even been bussed and dirty dishes were just sitting there. Only thing going for it is that is just off of I-85 and is convenient and also it is close to the Tanger Outlet Mall. read more

We ordered takeout for the family. I had an oriental chicken salad. It was sub par to say the least. It came with two dressings... one was the typical American version of soy dressing... the other one was an abomination to my tastebuds. It looked like coleslaw dressing but tasted like it was sweetened with artificial sweetener. I ordered grilled chicken... another mistake. It was rubbery and some pieces looked a bit pink. For a national restaurant chain, this was quite disappointing. Even the mozzarella sticks were poor quality. We will not eat here again. read more

I love Applebee's, but I live 350 miles from the nearest one. I visited family for Christmas in the North Georgia area. I was very excited to have the opportunity to eat at one for the first time in about 5 years. Let me just say there is a reason why they are closing across the country if the one in Commerce, Georgia is any indication. The food was not even mediocre. We had the fish (which has been wonderful in past years), loaded mashed potatoes, French fries, onion rings, and soup. Living on the coast, and having worked in a seafood restaurant in the past, I am very familiar with how a restaurant should properly run. We paid almost $100 for 3 people to eat. The fries were like rubber, the fish was terrible, the onion rings were burred, the loaded mashed potatoes were cold with under cooked straps of bacon in them, and more sour cream on them than there was potatoes. They charged us $4 for extra lemon for the fish. The waitress was VERY flustered, and she had 2 tables including us until we were ready to leave at which point a 3rd table sat in her section. She did not ask at any time when we asked for the bill, and left all our not eaten on our plates, if anything was wrong, nor did she ever ask if we needed refills on drinks. The people behind us left their food basically untouched as well including a dessert. My change was $28. She brought me back a 20, 5, and three 1's stating that was all the change they had. The tip would have been $14. I heard her tell the table on the other side of us the same. I had to go to the bar and ask for change to leave a tip which the bartender immediately gave me appropriate change. The manager never once came out of the office where I could see him sitting to check on his staff or customers until I complained to the bartender who could clearly see I was unhappy. He came out at that point to see what the problem was. I will say he did offer to make it right, but by that point, I was very pissed off and just wanted to leave. I still left the waitress an adequate tip based on the ridiculously expensive amount of the bill, even though I should not have, because it is Christmas. I will never step foot in this establishment again nor would I recommend this restaurant to another person. Apparently others feel the same as I do given their poor rating. The food was cold... we asked for mozzarella sticks for an appetizer and it was never brung out, then our main meal was gave to us and we asked where was the mozzarella sticks and she said they must have been knocked off and asked if we would like them to make them and she continued to ask did we want them fresh and we said yes please so we waited 5 more minutes for them to be cold once they was brung out! read more

Our food was what you'd expect from Applebee's: good. Maybe a few items which our large family ordered might have been better in other places (fries were good but not tip-top crispy perfect), but some were terrific (mozzarella sticks, my riblets, broccoli, wanton tacos, and the new garlic sirloin and hot honey chicken skillets which the in-laws ordered). But the reason I'm doing this review is because we were in a corner booth right under an A/C vent, and the one senior citizen in our family became really cold (he's on blood thinners). The assistant manager JoEllen is a longtime friend of ours, and she went into the back and let the senior borrow one of the staffers' jackets for the duration of our meal (our server Camden or whatever his name was - started with C, six letters - offered to do the same). That's FANTASTIC service! It was also sweet to walk right in and get seated with a party of seven on a Friday at 8:30 pm and not have to wait long for the food. We ordered from Applebee's for dinner because we thought it would be a good option for the family and we needed to grab something for dinner. We ordered two bacon cheeseburgers, one oriental salad and chicken penne pasta, which area all part of the 2 for $25 "deal".. with mozzarella sticks for an appetizer. Honestly, the only part of our entire meal that was ok was the cheeseburgers. The oriental salad with chicken came with rubbery chicken that looked almost as though it wasn''t cooked. The salad came with two dressings, one the standard American version of a soy dressing, the other, we have no idea what it was and it was sugary sweet grossness. The pasta was overcooked, and they literally put a small scoop of sauce in the bottom, the pasta over it and 4 strips of chicken on top. There was no flavor and basically not enough sauce for the pasta at all. As for our hamburgers, they came well cooked as asked, however we were given no condiments at all even when asked. The highlight of the burger was the bacon. They also forgot to give us a portion of fries, but honestly that wasn't much of a miss because they were over salted and more mushy than an actual French fry. As my brother stated, the fries at McDonald's are better. Overall we were not impressed at all with this Applebee's. It also didn't help that we over heard other customers loudly discussing private matters that were definitely not dinner conversation. Was told a 15 minute wait...30 minutes later with 30 open tables we were sat. Poorly trained staff, manager on duty is oblivious to what is going on. What a joke, last time we will come here. The food here is nothing above mediocre. The only food here worth the price is the spinach artichoke dip which toes the line of "meh". Upon my arrival I was begrudgingly greeted by a hostess who had no desire to be there. When I finally got my order, the lettuce of my side salad tasted as though it was dunked in water and tasted horrible. The spinach artichoke dip is usually great, but the chips that go along with it were almost unbearable. These chips were salted to the nines and I literally had to shake off my chips in order to comfortably eat them. When I finally got my combo, the patty on my hamburger was thin and brittle. I asked the waitress MULTIPLE times for ketchup, mayonnaise, and a refill yet it took 15 minutes at minimum for her to return, not without me re-requesting my needs. Much like the previously stated chips, the fries were unbearably salty. Overall the experience left me feeling mundane and unimpressed. CALL BEFORE YOU GO The food was good and the service was about what you would expect, but, and an very large but, the highly advertised Dollar Margaritas were "sold out". This would not be a big deal typically, but we were only told this after we brought the first round, and ordered our food. This was at 4:30pm on a Monday. The only other people there were regulars at the bar and seniors munching on dinner. The server then told us we could still have the house alcohol in the $2.99 margaritas, and she could not tell us what ingredient they were out of behind the bar (she was not underage, certainly could have if she cared). We watched other people order drinks and it did appear no other $1 glasses were being served, indicating that if the servers were telling the truth, Applebees as a corporation does not supply any where near enough of the cheapest mix. If you want to go for this special, call before you go, or at least ask before you order if there is plenty of supply. read more

Management is rude. Yelling at staff, talking to them like they're stupid, Ami is the only good manager here. The food isn't good. i watched them once have mozz sticks brought back to the kitchen cause one was dropped on the floor and they refried it and put it back on the plate. Just had the best lunch at this location. Brandon was a superb waiter and even though they were super busy being a Sunday and the day after Christmas, our food was hot and fresh, and Brandon was very attentive to us and his other tables. Last night April 16th my boyfriend and I went to the Applebees in commerce. One of the worst experiences we've ever had. We came in around 9:40pm and took about 15 minutes to seat 2 people. Restaurant was relatively busy but not packed. After we were seated we ordered our appetizer and it took about 15 or 20 minutes to arrive. We proceeded to wait an hour and 45 minutes for our entrees to arrive. Just about every person in the restaurant was sitting there waiting for their food. The table in front of us asked the waiter why their was such a wait and apparently it's due to short staffing in the kitchen. If I'm being completely honest, if they knew their was going to be a wait on food a warning from the hostess should've been said letting everyone know they are short staffed and their is a king wait. Over all my worst experience ever. read more

Just ate at the Applebee's in Commerce Georgia, near the Tanger Outlet Mall. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING Hostess took us to the Largest booth in the corner. The table and booth seats were filthy. ...she had to wipe it all down. Waitress, Regina, was very pleasant. The Lime chicken was terrible. Rice was crunchy and you couldn't chew the tortilla pieces. The CHILD'S pizza came on a burning hot plate. Place is so filthy. Bathroom was so gross I wouldn't let my granddaughter use it. Soap dispenser broken and hanging from wall. Carpet to side of bathroom was sooooo filthy. Lights above our large booth table covered in dust. Windows between booth extremely dirty. I feel sorry for the people that work here. I think this establishment should be turned into the Health Dept. ASAP Bill was $82. Definitely will NEVER BE BACK!!! read more

We were greeted as soon as we walked in as were all other patrons. Wait was reasonable for a Friday night. Once seated the hostess noticed table needed to be wiped again and she handled that immediately. Waitress arrived quickly, drinks were delivered quickly. The worst!!! Went there on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated. A waitress brought menus. After a while a couple was seated after us and within minutes a guy was taking their order. So we waited, stopped a waitress who had walked pass us a few times and was told the other waitress would be with us. As we waited, other waitresses were passing by not even acknowledging us. We decided to leave. As we were leaving the manager, I'm assuming, asked if something wasn't right. He was told and he wanted to make it right. Needless to say I was to angry to stay. 04/10/2019 - This one is actually a franchise. Once again we're here - 4 top this time. All the food was good - brunch burger was great. I do take an issue w/the fact that NATIONAL SHRIMP DAY was only advertised in the toilet - no where else in the restaurant did I see it advertised. Waitress was unaware of this as well. It is of course not her job - it is mngmt's job to promote NATIONAL SHRIMP DAY - in various places in the restaurant so customers can take advantage of such a glorious holiday. If you do not want to sell/promote it don't show it anywhere. I did not see the ad until we had all eaten and were leaving I used the restroom and saw the ad taped to the mirror in the crapper. NOT EXACTLY THE BEST WAY TO PROMOTE SOMETHING IS IT? As I left I looked everywhere I could for another posting of this promotion but saw none, not even on the front doors - and asked the waitress and stated I would post this in YELP as well as contact Applebee's corporate. I just got off the phone w/ them. Shame - the food I had was very good but this I cannot let go of. I love shrimp and now feel cheated on such a wonderful event I missed out on. Worst restaurant around!!! Ordered food Togo got home with the order to discover the chicken fingers were not done. I also ask for no bruschetta tomatoes on the pasta as my son is allergic tomatoes. They were underneath the chicken so he takes a bite and realizes it was not left off like we had ask for it to be. I've since called and ask to speak with a manager and been left on hold for 15 minutes. read more

Valentine's Day daiquiri was great! Mashed potatoes came out cold. Service was very slow and no they were not understaffed or busy.
