It was just what I was expecting not to creamy sauce very well seasoned shrimp tasted delicious. Sausage i gave to someone else it came with bread pretty delicious so I have no complaints about the food. I did not go inside the restaurant so I cannot quite speak about the ambience, but I will try to visit it next time just because it's been like 15 years since I've been in Applebee's and sometimes it's fun to visit. Came here to try the O M Cheeseburger limited time meal for $11.99. It consist of a cheeseburger cut with the cut side down in a grilled cast iron skillet of melted cheese with a side of fries. We were greeted by a pleasant server and proceeded to order the cheeseburger meal along with an order of bone in wings with an Asian glaze and an appetizer trio: onion rings, mozzarella sticks, and pretzel sticks with cheese for dipping. I also ordered a margarita. The ambiance was cozy and comfortable. Our food arrived in a decent time. The wings were good: cooked well and with an adequate amount of glaze. The appetizer trio was ok: basic onion rings, mozzarella sticks, and the pretzel bits with the cheese sauce. The margarita was good with an adequate amount of alcohol (I was not driving! The cheeseburger was indeed in a pool of cheese, but some was melted and some was not, like the cheese was an afterthought. When I went to pick up the burger half off the skillet, it was stuck to the skillet; obviously the burger had been placed on the hot skillet before the cheese was added, which tracts with the cheese being half melted to begin with, which was a disappointment. The fries were hot and good and as the cheese finally melted, I was able to dip my fries in the cheese and it sort of made up for the burger debacle. The burger was good, with cheese, bacon and on a fresh bun, but it was stuck to that skillet and as I was trying to get it off, the bun started to fall apart. All in all it was just an ok for me. Last time I went to an applebee's was over 10 years ago. After hearing good things about the new menu (many years back), today we decided to pay it a visit and watch the game at the same time. Sat in the bar area, by one of the high tops. Server came over shortly after. Took our drinks order first then came back around to take the food order. Pretty good service. We order regular wings,and boneless wings, surprisingly the wings were really tasty. I personally was a fan of the boneless wings , just too thick of the batter to me. The honey bbq and spicy asian honey flavor is our favorite, btw, not spicy at all. We had bacon burger and quesadilla burger for entries, and both of us could not finish it, definitely good in the portion. And they were delicious. Yummy margaritas, price we paid for the meal were reasonable. Atmosphere was calm at first, then with some of the customers sat by the bar started dunking shots, it got a bit loud with "movement". This was by far the worst Applebees I've ever been to. We stopped her while at a baseball tournament and were looking for a place close to the hotel to eat. To start off we waited forever well past the time they said we would have to wait for a table. Our waitress was actually really nice even though we had to wait quite a bit of time for her to come to our table, we basically ordered everything we wanted in one shot and then waited......and waited....... It took forever, about 40 mins to get our food and when we received it all of our orders were messed up in some way. The food was subpar, the fries tasted old and freezer burnt and all 4 of us were not pleased with our meal. We needed a refill on drinks and once again waited, we never saw our waitress again after receiving our food, she never came back to check on us once, after about 30 mins of finishing up dinner and waiting for drinks we had enough, we ended up just paying on the mobile payer and left . It was a terrible experience, the place dark and looked dirty, uninviting and loud . Me and my party of 3 came in at were sat down relatively quick, however that might be the only good part of the night, we waited over 20 minutes for drinks while the server constantly walked passed us. Our food was served and the mashed potatoes tasted like grocery store frozen quality and the pasta was over cooked. Honestly, I don't like eating in restaurant at this location. It gets pretty busy and in the past, the customer service wasn't always the greatest. I do however order carry-out, which I did this past Tuesday. Ordering through their website or the app is a breeze. You can either select carry-out or take-out. They've added extra spaces for customers doing pick-up and even spaces for delivery drivers. Changes they made during the pandemic. When I walked on to grab my order, I was greeted by a nice lady who appeared to be a manager. She was friendly and immediately handed me my order. We were seated in the in the room right by the entrance, leading to the bathroom. It was SOO cold in there. That's the only reason why we didn't stay long to finish our food. Our waitress might've been a bit busy that night as she kept forgetting to bring our drinks. And unfortunately, a table across from us skipped out on their bill. I just ate at Applebee's. Their rib dinner shows a rack of ribs. Instead of French fries I asked for mashed potatoes. They don't offer gravy. The ribs were very small, the meat was tough like it was sitting out, and my plate or side wasn't even warm. I've been here about 5 times before. I guess it was my fault because it said riblets. I like Applebee's. I think a lot of people will too, three stars isn't that bad of a star indicator. It is just what it is right in the middle, middle of the road but definitely would go back. I like it because it's convenient, close to home, parking is generally good, service is okay to decent and prices are generally fair. I recently visited with my son who's 10 years old and we shared a meal and had some bonding time between the two of us. He really enjoyed his entree which was a cheeseburger and mozzarella sticks and he also had a Shirley Temple as his beverage. I had bourbon Street chicken and shrimp with garlicky green beans. I thought that my meal was decent too. Not the best meal I've ever had but far from the worst, I would definitely go back in order this meal again. Our server, Justice, was very attentive, very kind, and had a general positive attitude about the work that she was doing. We arrived around 5:00 p.m. on a Tuesday evening. We were seated right away and received prompt service. Noise levels were moderate. There weren't many people but they did have TVs playing and some music. Again, three stars may not seem like a good or quality place to dine, but I disagree. I think that Applebee's is a fine place to dine as long as you have realistic expectations. My one qualm would be the cost of the wing appetizers. The wings were good, my son really enjoy them. He said that they were excellent but the cost, I thought for an appetizer to cost $16 is a bit expensive. Summary: Food was decent. Pickup service experience was very unpleasant. After I complained, the manager (Aisha?) was very nice and helpful. Scenario: I placed my order within the convenient Applebees mobile app, for car pick up. For pick up purposes, the app asks you to choose your car color. I chose the color that most fit my car color (dark gray). When I got there, I immediately called in to let them know that I was there to pick up my food. The man on the phone recognized (from my phone number) who I was and immediately proceeded to insult and accost me, griping about me "choosing the wrong car color", in the most disrespectful way. My car is dark gray, but apparently when I chose the car color on the app, it showed up as "silver". The man pointed at a silver car in the parking lot and said "that car over there is silver... your car is not silver!" . Anyways, with regards to my order, when I got home, I noticed that he forgot my 2 orders of mashed potatoes!! Also, the top on my beverage cup was ajar and some of the beverage spilled on my car mat. When I called back about the missing items, the manager (Aisha?) was very nice and processed a partial refund. Overall, my experience was negative- considering the rudeness of the man (a middle-aged, slightly balding African-American male). After the unexpected interaction, I immediately assumed that he either had mental issues or maybe he was just having a bad day. I was taken aback by the incident and by the fact that he didn't even say hello, hi, good evening or anything pleasant. He immediately started griping about the color of my car and why I "chose". Furthermore , when I ordered my food on the app, I gave a generous tip; up front- just to get that despicable treatment. Never again will I tip up front when ordering on an app. That money is gone, and then you get treated with disdain. Coming here I had a positive experience. Our waitress, Megan, was very attentive. She made sure we had everything. I ordered the Tex Mex shrimp bowl. Very good, very flavorful. My only gripe with it was the lettuce. Some of it was wilted. But otherwise the shrimp was hot, and the rice was nicely done. The party I was with had drinks. The drinks were a little weak at first but the second round, everything was good. Overall, this is Applebee's. This Applebee's is located on route 40 in the same lot as aldi's, Krispy Kreme, And five below. Right across the loafers grills. The two best things about Applebee's right now are their dollar Long Island ice tea and boneless wings. Anytime you have an alcoholic drink for $1, it's always a win. Their wings are pretty good, they are crispy and the have about 4-5 options for sauce. If you love spicy wings however, their spicy sauce isn't really spicy. Whenever I come here, I try to get the 2 for $20 or 2 for $25 deal. This includes an appetizer and 2 entrees. It really is a great deal because all those things separately are probably $35+. Their desserts are also pretty good. Most are a little too pricy for me but they do have a brownie desert for a couple of dollars. It's a warm brownie with ice cream on top. Overall, a pretty decent place to eat if you're on route 40. read more
