I've been there several times and regret it every time. Terrible service and overpriced, mediocre food.

Friendly staff, nice bar. Really appreciated the "lower calorie" options on several menu items. Overall a great experience!

Took a little bit to get our drinks but I was also tired and cranky so I gave it a pass and chalked it up to me just being impatient. I asked for everything I wanted when placing my order which was simple chicken strips with BBQ. My fiancé got mozzarella sticks as they come and we were given Ranch with them??? It is really hit or miss... I love hot wings and Applebee's has them super cheap after 9pm and on Wednesday or Thursday (need to double check that). It's not Buffalo Wild Wings but the hottest flavor they have is decent.. I found it is better to ask for the sauce on the side, the cooks like to be stingy with the sauce. read more

So my experience was just like the last reviewer. Got there, took about 8 min for the waitress to show up and ask for drinks. 2 min later we received 2 of 3 drinks. 15 min later we received 2 of 3 meals...still no 3rd drink. Then I figured she would have brought the silverwear...nope, I had to go ask the door guy. Then about 5 min later we received the 3rd drink, followed by the 3rd meal. The steak I ordered medium rare was cooked on one side, or that's how it looked when I cut it in half. One side red, the other well done. Seen the waitress 4 times throughout this whole process and seemed really fake, all about pretending to be happy in her voice. Spent most time in the kitchen. There were 2 other tables when we showed, so don't see how this place survives during rush hour, let alone how that parking lot is so full all of the time. I ate at this Applebee's in Altus, Ok on 8-8-15 with 2 friends of mine. We ordered salads and appetizers along with our main course. The drinks were brought out in a timely fashion. 45 mins passed, no appetizers or salads. The waiter ended up bringing out main course minus the salads and appetizers. They were served at the same time as our main course. The lettuce in the salad was warm (not cold) and the appetizers were just ok. I have eaten at Applebee's across the county and have never been as disappointed in my experience. My friends felt the same way. Well we moved here in the summer and the food seemed better. I've always ordered the bourbon street chicken and shrimp but it's gone down hill the last few times. The chips used to be thin and now they are super thick. The service is always good when Shelby serves you as well as the drinks but that's about it. The servers are understaffed, and made rare appearances to our table, The food, SUCKED! I tried this new pork sandwich that they have My wife loved this sandwich at the Applebee's in Lafayette, La. This sandwich is to have pulled pork, crispy onions, ham, bacon, and turkey on it. While I was looking the sandwich over, I noticed it didn't come close to looking like the picture in the menu, and the pulled pork seemed missing in action. I advised our absentee server of this. She went into the kitchen and asked the cook where the pulled pork maybe. The cook told her that the pulled pork is layered between the pieces of ham. I looked closer, and found the pork trapped between two layers of ham. My napkin was thicker than that layer of pork. So I bit into this sandwich, and was not impressed. As I ate it further, the sauce was making me gag. I wanted to vomit it up. This food was so bad we were happy that escaped from just a very underwhelming meal only for $71.00. $71.00 I paid for may family to eat this stuff. Please do not go there and endure this. Went there last night with co-workers because we were stranded in town for a few hours. The server (Sooner) was doing what she could, they were very short-staffed and I believe she was the only server for a while. But the kitchen was turning out NO food. The first food I saw come out, to a restaurant only about 1/4 full, was an hour after we sat down. It took almost 90 minutes for our food to come out and I ended up having to get mine to go. The worst part, I felt bad for the manager who had to have been having a tough night, so when he came around, I asked him "What happened tonight?" And he seemed pissed off. He became rude and unprofessional and at first simply said, "Nothing went wrong", then he went on a tirade griping at me about how he was short staffed, had to move people around, etc., etc. I felt sorry for the guy until he decided to use me as a verbal punching bag. Avoid this place at all costs. But if you're fine with the crappiest service and horrible food, this will be the place for you. They never fail to disappoint me and my friends every time we go for dinner. The last time I ate here, let's see... Waited an hour to be seated. Once seated, maybe about 15 minutes passed before our waiter even took our drink orders and gave us the menu (but of course, we already looked at the menu while we were waiting for an hour). Waiter just left and didn't give us utensils. It wasn't just us because the man from the table next to us literally got up, went to the unmanned reception booth and grabbed his family utensils. My friend did the same thing for our table. When the food came, of course it was just as horrible as the service. Pastas with no bread sticks, my ciabatta chicken sandwich was completely dry, I had to get it returned to the kitchen for the sauce that was missing. Wouldn't doubt it if it came with extra spit sauce. The waiter kept on making excuses that it's her first day and apologizing that she is horrible but in my mind I was thinking she's doing just as bad as all the other waiters we've had in this establishment. The cherry on top of the ice cream was when she offered to refill my drink, it was a diet coke but she gave me back a Dr Pepper. The said Dr Pepper was actually for the table behind me that she also offered to refill and that person got my diet coke. So yes, I drank from a stranger's glass. A thousand points for health code violation! We complained to the manager and he asked us "what we wanted for him to do". We told him to figure it out but he just left and did absolutely nothing. This wasn't the only bad experience I've had with them but this is definitely the last. I would give zero stars if I could. read more

I ate twice at applebee's. The first time, my steak came out without the veggies or mashed potatoes? I had to remind them about my vegetables half way through my steak. The second time I got everything at once. The steaks were not cook to a proper medium, more importantly they weren't cooked evenly. Overcooked on one side and then a short sear on the other side, this happened twice. Overall the quality was poor, and the service was poor. A friendly smile will never make up for a lack of quality and standards. Very disappointed! read more

Only giving 1 star because I have to give something to leave a review! If you like cold food this is the place for you! We waited 10 minutes to get seated (only 5 other tables with customers in the place). Then sat at our table for 14 minutes before someone came to take a drink order. Placed our order for an appetizer, soup & salad and entree. 10 minutes later the appetizer came (pretzels and beer cheese), its was edible if you like pepper. 13 minutes after that they brought our soup, salad, half rack of ribs & steak all at the same time. My French onion soup was luke warm with burned cheese on top, ribs had very little meat and were extremely tough with runny flavorless mashed potatoes, the 12 oz ribeye order med-rare came medium and was ice cold with no flavor, ordered a baked potato and waitress came back to tell us no baked till after 4 so settled for fries and they weren't at good as McDonald's. The salad was the ONLY thing that was honestly good but it came out with the entree. The sweet tea was hot and flavorless. The waitress didn't know her menu and had to have us repeat our order 2-3 times. When we left my husband felt sick like he was going to throw up. We will NOT be back! We've tried this place 3 times! NEVER AGAIN! We paid $58 for this lousy meal! McDonald's would be far better! read more

November 1st at Applebee's on North Main. The service started out great! It went downhill quickly. Having to beg for a spoon for my soup, coffee, and then beg for a cookies and cream shake that came out like water. The steak was over cooked. Napkins are a commodity there.... but the killer of the whole night was when the bill was brought to the table. My credit card was folded over with the ticket. When I opened the ticket....out crawled a baby cockroach. I spoke to the manager and he assured me that he would get with corporate and with the store manager and make it right.....two weeks later I spoke to the store manager who assured me he would get back to me the next day. That was a week ago and have not heard from him. He made light of it in that he had Orkin coming the next day and who knows, maybe the waitress brought it into the store in her apron.....I also need to state that I was not asking for a free meal. No stars what so ever is what i really feel they deserve or at least until the Applebee's in this area gets their heads out of their asses and figure out what they will and will not do and if you have done something before then you should continue to do it, especially if the district manager says you can do that. I have been to this applebees several times along with the one in lawton, ok. I can not eat the quesideas (spelling?) because of the onions in them and asked to get more mozerellas sticks instead when I get the appitizer sampler. All the other applebees does it with no question but these 2 always give the run around. So i did the survey and had the district manager call who said yes they can switch things as long as its something else thats on the menu. Well I walked out of Applebees in Altus tonight because they would not do it, when they have done it for me a month or 2 ago when I was there. Applebees has almost lost my business completely. I am giving them one more try and if i get the run around about changing the sampler then I am done with applebee's completely. Especially the ones in Lawton and Altus. But the manager in Altus told us tonight she would do it tonight so she woudln't lose our business but they wouldn't if we ever came back..well wait you are telling us that it can not be done but you are willing to do it tonight but not if we come back. your so full of shit but that's of because word gets out and there are plenty of other places to eat. read more

i have been in applebee's a total of 6 times during 2011 and i think i have had 1 visit that the food was hot and cooked properly! i now i would say that the managers in all cases took care of the bill. refused to have it re-cooked. i've has a hair in a sandwich, uncooked food, cold food served. ( steaks, hamburgers, & raw shrimp) my latest adventure was 26 dec 2011 at 4:30pm went into the front of the building, no hostess waited 5 min a young couple was waiting before me and then a hostess shows up and asked the young couple how many and they had 8. hostess disappears come back and starts putting tables together for the 8. not a word to the people starting to come into the restaurant. she atarted talking to another family that had been served and still no responce, my wife and i waited 12 min, no hostess. the wife and i left and went to the olive garden 60 miles away in lawton,ok. great meal and service. applebees in altus, ok should be closed no cooks, no service!! angry. read more
