RIBS. Yelp wants me to add more. Get. Ribs. Here. The best ribs in Oklahoma have no business being in the most podunk-looking storefront you've ever seen. Half the strip mall is deserted, there were 3 cars in the entire parking lot on a Saturday night and two were cop cars, and I started going in the wrong door. I think you have to be local to find the place. But man, you totally want to find this place. It's just north of D Street on the right. You'll see it once you're in there. RIBS. The pulled pork was good, not as much flavor but the sauce did the trick. The chopped brisket was more pulled than chopped - I'm used to it being chunks. You could, of course, get sliced instead. Again, needed some sauce. But the ribs? You get 4 ribs on a 3 meat platter, which is pretty generous. Each one is way more than half meat, tiny bone. The meat just falls into your mouth. It's so juicy, succulent, perfectly seasoned, that I didn't even sauce it. And I sauce all my BBQ meats. No need with these bad boys. 100% definitely order a full rack. Sides: Good potato salad (4+ stars), decent mac (4- stars, a little on the simplistic side). Banana pudding is a must-have. I'm still tasting it 4 hours later when I think about it. Service: Very friendly. Jovial, even. Alright, to start this off, let me just say that I enjoy bbq, but the experience I had this time was appealing, not only to how they date their product, but to the experience we had there today. 1. The food itself wasn't great, nothing like how Billy sims used to be a few years ago, the ribs were full of white bones, and the pork sandwich was near flavourless 2. The soda my friend was expired, and expired on 10/11/21 , the desert my girlfriend and I ordered both expired on 10/23/20, and not only was just the one soda expired, the rest of their bottled Pepsi was too. This Billy Sims seems relatively new and updated compared to the old one near my home in Edmond, OK. Restaurant was clean when we came in. And about five tables were occupied. Ordering is Billy Sims style where you walk through a line to order and pay at the end. (like Chipotle, Qdoba, Moe's). The food is flavorful and good portions. Overall, good though a bit pricey (not quite expensive, though). When it comes to choices in Altus, I'd put this toward the top of the options. Side note: Good customer service oriented manager. The guy working at the first station was having a frustrating time with a coworker he thought was working too slow and seemed like a trainee. She moved the "slower" guy to a different spot and took his place to speed it up during the rush. Side by side note: the women's toliet didn't flush properly. New BBQ joint here in Altus. Not a bad little place. Food was good and employees were happy and friendly. I had the Bevo Plate which was a huge serving of shredded brisket and two sides. It was the best BBQ I have had in Altus. Update: My second visit was better than the first. Normal Altus service hasn't crept into this place yet. I hope they can keep it up! Today I had a loaded baked potato and it came with a side of meat. I tried the smoked chicken. Potato was huge and good. Chicken had great flavor but a little dry...BBQ sauce added the moisture it needed. The best part about this place is the service. The guys cutting the meats are helpful and patient. The girl that worked the dining room was constantly refilling drinks and cleaning the tables. It is nice to see people that have pride in their job. read more

Placed an order for 30 people on their website. Communication was as good as anyone could ask for! The owner was kind enough to actually respond and made sure of every detail was taken care of as I'm sure he's a busy person. Picked up the food and had many compliments of the flavor and consistency from tray to tray of food. I would absolutely recommend this companies food for any catering event. On a side note I decided to use them as the food has been delicious every time I have been into their Altus Ok store. Just need to branch further west so we can enjoy this top level barbecue on the western half of the US! read more

Today was my 4th or 5th visit to a Billy Sims BBQ and the 3rd location. I continue to be impressed with their consistency in terms of flavorful meats and hot and tasty sides. Really, my only complaint and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is their prices...$13.99 for a 2 meat combo plate at a order at the counter, essentially fast-food BBQ restaurant is just too high. Granted, there are less expensive sandwich options but $8 is steep pretty high and a large drink pushes the 2 meat combo to nearly $20 and the sandwich with large drink to about $12. read more

It's good barbecue if you don't know what really good barbecue is. It's excellent barbecue for Altus Oklahoma; sadly, that is not saying much. Yes, my family probably eats here once a month. But we prefer to drive to Oklahoma City or Fort Worth on a weekend and get some great barbecue. If you want to eat barbecue around here, this is the place to go. Another disappointing food review in the town of Altus. They served me old/stale bread, the ribs come pre-cooked and they are wrapped in plastic then reheated up. Got the "half rack" of ribs and I put that in quotation because the rack was about as long as my hand. Ribs had no flavor, all the did was fall apart with small amounts of bones in each of the ribs where you thought you were going to bite just meat, but got a mouth full of small bones. Overall food taste out of 10 would be a 4.2. The employees there seemed unhappy and looked like they dreaded to make the food from when I walked in. I was the only customer there, it looked like a ghost town but I went on a Sunday. This is only getting two stars because the Mac n cheese was average and the sweet tea was okay. So sad. read more

Nice, new BBQ joint in town. The decor is new and fresh. The service staff is great and the food is great as well. I ordered the sliced brisket sandwich with a side of potato salad. The sandwich was good, but I was wishing the bun was bigger as I was eating the sandwich.
